Where Was Torrance in Congressional Politics? 1903-1913 CD 7

The California Congressional Delegation increased by one seat.

The new 7th Congressional District would only compromise all of Los Angeles County.

Of course, this comes as no surprise, since the population explosion for California sprung forth predominantly in the Los Angeles area.

Election 1892

Election 1904 -- This election was particularly noteworthy, since the entire Congressional delegation became Republican and would stay entirely GOP until Election 2010.

Believe it or not, San Francisco was actually represented by a Republican in Congress!

Election 1908

Election 2010 -- William Stephens would eventually become governor of California, too.
