Where Are You, LA County Supervisor Solis?

On Tuesday, September 29th, We the People Rising attended the LA County Board of Supervisors meeting on behalf of Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell's decision to allow ICE agents back into the LA County jails.

Illegal aliens and their supporters also lined the streets outside the LA BOS meeting hall, and some of them flashed signs opposing the Sheriff's decision. More remarkably, Sheriff McDonnell has adopted this policy in spite of opposition from a majority of the Board.

This past Thursday, I learned so much about why California law enforcement faces so many hurdles to prosecuting and deporting illegal aliens. The California Trust Act is one major culprit, further restricting the extent of immigration control and enforcement in the state.

This law has to change, but for now, concerned citizens are working step by step to make the public aware of the public fallout associated with illegal immigration, from strains on public resources to property and personal crimes.

After sitting for nearly six hours, waiting for public comment on items not listed on the September 29th agenda,  my fellow activists and I finally took to the podium and addressed the board on our support for Sheriff McDonnell's decision.

A number of participants not only thanked the Sheriff, but reminded the board and the audience about the number of murders from repeat illegal alien offenders. Other members demanded more enforcement, including myself. Frankly, more illegals should be deported, and the rule of law respected without limit.

I wanted to take more time to address an ongoing flagrant violation of state and federal law, one which further undermines our national sovereignty as well as making a mockery of local governance and exploiting an inattentive media and community.

In Huntington Park, CA, the city council has not only appointed two illegal aliens to city commissions, but has purportedly sworn them in following a LiveScan screening. How is this possible? How can two illegal aliens submit paperwork for a live scan? How can they be sworn in without public comment or witnesses? How can they take an oath of office to uphold the United States Constitution, when they are not citizens and have already violated the law?
LA Supervisor Hilda Solis

In the midst of my comments, I called out "Missing in Action" Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, who has done nothing, and even justified the appointments as nothing criminal since ICE had not picked them up yet. Imagine the hordes of criminals who would excuse their conduct with the same argument: "I have not done anything wrong, because no one has arrested me."

At the end of my two minute remarks, I asked Supervisor Hilda Solis a question: "Where are you?"

She interviewed with ABC7 to hint that she cared about public safety, even though she wanted to remove ICE from LA County jails and further enable illegal aliens to live in Los Angeles County. Yet she cannot be bothered to speak out on the illegal appointment of two illegal aliens in Huntington Park? She can take pictures with local activists and talk with constituents and interest groups in Downtown Los Angeles, but she will not step up and demand the rule of law and enforcement of our borders and legal culture.

Solis must do her job, or she should be fired!
It's time to demand that LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis do her job.

Contact her office and ask "Where are you, Supervisor Solis?" Then demand that she do her job, and require enforcement of our immigration laws throughout LA County, and particularly in her district, which includes Huntington Park.

Raul Labrador (R-ID) For Speaker of the House

Ladies and Gentleman of the United States, Conservatives of all stripes who care about Constitution and country:

I have made my decision.

Raul Labrador

I support Raul Labrador of Idaho as our next Speaker of the House.

He has a 92% rating with the Heritage Foundation. 92%! We do not need perfect, and Labrador is good enough! He is one of the boldest young conservatives isn the House.

Read these comments I wrote on his behalf in my latest column on Townhall.com:

Raul Labrador of Idaho would be good. He has already challenged Kevin McCarthyfor Majority Leader, which implies avenues of support for a second run. He relentlessly interrogated former Attorney General Eric Holder over Operation Fast and Furious, and even graciously bowed out when McCarthy replaced Cantor.

He has challenged the leadership at least three times.

During the Fiscal Cliff fight in 2012, individual members voted for him instead of Boehner.

After the 2014 primary loss of Eric Cantor (which was not a loss for anyone of us), Labrador challenged Kevin McCarthy for the Majority Leader position. He did not win, but his campaign was noteworthy in that he took the time and effort to reach out to colleagues to seek their support. He showed real grace and consensus in requesting unanimous support for the Speaker.

He demonstrates his capacity to seek consensus among his colleagues while advancing the conservative cause. Unlike some, I am not cynically inclined to believe that good politics and good policy cannot work together. Tea Party protests brought one of the strongest, most conservative House caucuses to Washington in years, and they have taken over otherwise blue states throughout the country and working forward on key reforms.

We need to keep on fighting for what is right, and expect the same from our representatives. It is not enough to be against bad leaders. Let us get the good ones into power and make sure that they use their power for what is right and honorable, necessary and proper.

More to the point, I have contacted Labrador's office, and his staffers informed me that he is receiving phone calls from all over the country urging him to run for Speaker of the House. If we want a champion to fight for our cause, we need to let him know that we are fighting for him, every step of the way.

At this stage of the Speakership process, we have time and resources on our hands. I am getting positive feedback from Southern California residents, too. Even a more moderate colleague of mine would support Raul Labrador as House Speaker.

I appeal to all conservatives, all Americans: we need leadership that leads, fights, and will confront no matter what.

Contact Congressman Raul Labrador's office, and let him know that he has a growing groundswell of support for his run for House Speaker.

To Huntington Park: What We the People Want

Since August, 2015, citizens within the city of Huntington Park and throughout the greater Southern California region have protested the city council's decision to appoint two illegal aliens to two city commissions.

One key group in these protests, We the People Rising, has connected with community interests, citizens throughout the country fed up with the lack of enforcement.

One key activist leading the fight against illegal immigration, Mark Mendlovitz of Beverly Hills, CA, asked me an upfront question:

What is the endgame here? What are your goals?

What do "We the People" and "We the People  Rising" want?

1. We want the Huntington Park City Council to rescind the appointments of two illegal aliens to city commissions.

2. We want to remove the rogue city council members who voted to permit this outrageous travesty and flagrant violation of state and federal law.

3. We want to send the message, clear and convincing, that no city should ever think about appointing two illegal aliens to city commissions or in any other public capacity. Cities are for citizens, city commissions are for both, and anyone elected to a city office must serve citizens, not illegal aliens.

These are not gross demands. These are merely expectations which come with existing in any country based on the rule of law, not the demagoguery of the few at the expense of everyone else.

Huntington Park residents have shared their outrage with me about the city council's immoral and offensive appointments. Reports around the country, and readers learning about this insidious undermining of national sovreignty and individual liberty are fighting back, voicing their protest.

To the Huntington Park City Council, you are notice. We will not stop. We will hound you on social media. We will inform readers, activists, concerned citizens everywhere. You will not be left alone until you rescind the appointment of the two illegals Francisco Medina and Julian Zatarain, step down from office, and let the whole country know that such lawless actions will not go unchecked and unpunished.

Does Illegal Alien "Commissioner" Francisco Medina Live in Huntington Park?

Linda Caraballo, former Huntington Park city councilmember and ongoing activist in the city, excoriated the city council for appointing the two illegal aliens, Julian Zatarain and Francisco Medina, to two city commissions, while passing over many legal residents who are more than qualified to represent the City of Perfect Balance on public advisory boards.

I looked over the commission application from Francisco Medina.

The immediate contact information was removed, but the other information listed on the application contradicted some of the comments he has made in the past.

While supporters had claimed that he had done a great deal of work for the city. His application answers indicate otherwise.

Francisco Medina

Describe any qualifications, experience and education, as well as any technical or professional background you have have relative to the duties of this position.

I have graduated from a four year university (CSUDH) California State University, Dominguez Hills with the following disciplines: Sociology and Chicana/Chicano Studies. Also, I had the privilege to complete one yer fellowship program in Health Care Management  from UCLA. In Addition I have mentored low income high school students entered fields of health and provided college students.

One has to ask: provide college students want? What does a college degree have to do with serving one's city?

Other volunteer activities or organizations you are involved with.

I am currently working for a non-profit organization known as "Tell That Story", where I have learned that there are millions of underage children who have forced to work in the sex industry. These children are exploited and lack basic education. Unfortunately, there are not enough professionals to represent these underprivileged children.

Has Medina done anything for Huntington Park? For a candidate who cares about exploitation of children, he has no problem with the city council exploiting him and endangering his status in the country. He has brazenly announced that he is an illegal alien living in Huntington Park. At any time, ICE will arrest and deport him and Zatarain.

What is particularly disturbing about this application? In the box where the applicant must list the number of years residence in Huntington Park, the applicant wrote: N/A

So, he wants to serve the city, but his residence in the city is "not applicable"?

Let's ask a better question: does he even live in Huntington Park? (And why hasn't the Park and Recreations Commission met in over two years?)

Boehner Resigns: Speaker Tryouts Open Today (No McCarthy!)

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), has resigned.

Following the pressure from the liberty, libertarian, and all around limited government wing of the Republican Party in the House (which is the growing majority of the majority), Boehner read the handwriting on the wall, and decided to step down.

Of course everyone is happy.

The fight is not over, however.

His planned successor, based on the current House Leadership team, including Kevin McCarthy of California and Jason Scalese of Louisiana, are poised to continue a piece-meal, let's pretend to fight but not really.

I was OK with McCarthy as Majority Leader, in that he was 100% pro-life and worked from the ground up as a private businessman then elected official.

The problem for me, and for many, rests on his support for legal status for illegal aliens, just short of citizenship, plus his strong ties with the current leadership, which has all but failed to fight the good fight - the way many concerned citizens are already in Huntington Park and throughout the country at the local and state level. I contacted McCarthy;s office today, and I got no clear assurance that he will kill Big Business cronyism, either, including the Ex-Im Bank.

I appeal to all California conservatives, citizens, constituents who care about country:

Call your Congressman, and tell them to support strong consensus conservative leaders, who will promote a pro-liberty, pro-constitution, pro-limited government agenda.

Say "No" to McCarthy

Choose one from this list for successor to House Speaker:

1. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina

2. Raul Labrador of Idaho

3. Steve King of Iowa

4. Jeb Hensarling of Texas

5. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina

Do not recommend Mark Meadows. He has no interest in the Speakership, as his office in Washington DC just informed me today.

Congressman Steve Knight has seemed to indicate that he will step behind McCarthy just because. That is wrong. Outraged citizens hav already confronted him for voting to fund the Department of Homeland Security without ending the unjust executive amnesty implemented by Barack Obama.

He needs to get the message: No more insiders, and more than just outsiders, but conservatives who care about God and country, about the constitution and state sovereignty, life and liberty must head the House of Representatives.

Call Steve Knight, and tell him "No more status quo!"

Tom McClintock also chided Boehner's poor leadership. Tell him: "No McCarthy!"

Dana Rohrabacher of Surf City, CA has routinely denounced illegal immigration and the rogue President who does not do his job, Demand that he support a strong conservative for the Speakership.

Contact Duncan Hunter, Jr. of Alpine, CA, and demand a Speaker who will fight President Obama and for the conservative cause.

Doug LaMalfa in Modoc County needs to know - his vote counts, and constituents want their concerns counted above all else.

Ed Royce of Orange County sits on the powerful Foreign Relations Committee. Should he lose his chairmanship if he refuses to vote for a better speaker? Let him know: "No McCarthy!"

Darrell Issa of Vista, CA fought on the House Oversight Committee. Should he fight for a better speaker for his constituents, too? Tell him: "No McCarthy!" and recommend one of the four listed above.

Paul Chabot is running to replace Peter Aguilar, one of the most left-wing freshman Democrats in the House. Call Paul and Peter -- tell them "No McCarthy! Steve King, Raul Labrador, or someone else for Speaker!"

Please leave a comment below once you have contacted your own or one of the above listed Congressmen. Let's remind the House, leadership and membership, that they represent "We the People", not "We the Big Interests: Business, Labor, Amnesty, etc".

Congresswoman Roybal-Allard: Mixed Messages, Still MIA

While waiting for the September 21, 2015 Huntington Park City council meeting to begin, I walked through the corridors of city hall, first and second floors, documenting the photos of elected officials -- federal, state, and local -- as well as the history of the city before the legacy of pandering to illegal aliens and ignoring the rule of law became the norm.

I had the opportunity to speak with HP Chief of Police Cosme Lozamo about the LiveScan process for the two illegal aliens appointed to two city commissions.

First, I informed him that the City Clerk led me to him, that he would have the information about the LiveScan process. Did they complete it? When? How?

The chief of police explained that the LiveScan reads off the fingerprints of the individuals, and determines whether the person has a criminal record. An illegal alien with a criminal record will get caught through the implementation of the screening. "The purpose of live-scanning is to determine someone's criminal record. We're not looking for immigration status.

Really? Julian Zatarain and Francisco Medina are criminals for being in the country illegally. I cannot believe that individual citizens have to repeatedly indicate this fact.

Throughout our discussion, the police officer never explained how the two illegals were able to have the scan completed without a Social Security number or any other documentation. I then pointed out that individual candidates for public office or public service have to provide something which proves their identity. What did the two illegals offer to the city clerk's office or the city records to prove who they were?

Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard:
Sending Mixed Messages, Still MIA (zimbio.com)
The police chief then passed the buck: "I am not going to speak to the requirements of these positions. He then affirmed that anyone can seek a city commission without providing Social Security numbers of other forms of ID.

Is this even true?  "It is my understand that that is accruate", Lozamo answered.

Wow!

Then I brought the discussion back to what we had talked about at the last city council meeting:  jurisdiction and enforcement. I told the police chief: "I took your advice. You said it was a federal issue, what was going on here [in Huntington Park]. I spoke to Congresswoman Roybal-Allard. I spoke to Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, and she said that it is a local issue.

The chief then acknowledged that the police are expected to cooperate with ICE and turn over illegal aliens in circumstances beyond the overt commission of visible, physical crime. At that point, the officer tried to leave. I then brought the discussion back to one point.

"You said to me that this immigration issue is a federal matter. I spoke to Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, and she told me it's a local matter. Could you resolve that for me?"

The chief admitted on camera: "No, I cannot."

Shock and disbelief: "The Congresswoman in this district is passing the buck and throwing it back at you."

Congresswoman Roybal-Allard is not only Missing in Action, but giving mixed messages on the appointment of two illegal aliens to city commissions in an American city. Just like the Huntington Park City Council members, Rep Roybal-Allard took an oath to uphold the United States Constitution, and yet after speaking with her for five minutes about this flagrant violation of state and federal law in her district, she pushed it aside and declared: "Not my problem. It's a local issue.
The ICE officials whom I have reported to explained that this is a federal issue, and the chief of police declared on camera that this problem is a federal issue. During his tenure representing Rancho Palos Verdes, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher flew directly to Catalina Island to stop the distribution of ID cards from the Mexican consulate to illegal aliens. He deliberately intervened with a foreign embassy to prevent them from enabling illegal immigration in his district.

Congresswoman Roybal-Allard has no excuse for doing nothing about the Huntington Park City Council's rogue appointments of two illegal aliens.

Contact Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, and demand that she oppose these appointments and lead enforcement of federal immigration laws in Huntington Park.

Huntington Park City Attorney Answers My Questions

After the September 8, 2015 Huntington Park City Council meeting, I contacted the city attorney, Arnold Alvarez-Glasman, to get more answers about his tenure with the city, and his opinions on the legal matters which had brought so much (justly) heated protest to the city council meetings.

I contacted Glasman's law firm, Alvarez-Glasman and Colvin --  based in the City of Industry -- and personal assistant Maxine Caudillo received my questions.

Huntington Park City Attorney
Arnold Alvarez-Glasman

I received the following answers on September 21, sent in PDF with his law firm's letter head, the same day as the next city council meeting.

The attorney's comments appear in italics and my questions appear in bold letters.

Mr. Schaper:

I normally would not respond to an email such as yours because much of what is contained in your email is either incorrect or comes from a point of view that has a predetermined view on the
issue or my role as City Attorney. However, as a courtesy in providing accurate information
here are my responses to your questions. (Note: I have not corrected the grammatical or typographical errors contained in your email, but have copied your questions verbatim):

l. How long have you been working for Huntington Park as a City Attorney?

My firm was hired by the City of Huntington Park in April 2015.

2. How much are you getting paid per hour? Are you receiving a salary? How much money have you gotten for business expenses so far? I do not receive a salary or receive "business expenses. "

Our law firm 's hourly rate is between $185 to $190 per hour for attorneys and $100
per hour for paralegal/law clerk services. We do receive reimbursement for facsimiles, copies
and other related costs.

3. Are you serving as a city attorney for other cities at this time? Which ones?

Our firm represents numerous public agencies. Please refer to our website for this information.

4. You acknowledged in the September 8th, 2015 city council meeting that you did not know the statusWhy do you not know the status of the livescan process for the two illegal aliens appointed to city commissions?

You have mischaracterized my non-responsiveness to your verbal attack towards me at the September 8, 2015 Council meeting as a response to your question. I did not respond to your comments directed to me that night. It should be noted, the City Attorney's office does not direct nor is involved in the LiveScan process, and is not involved in nor receives reports on LiveScan results.

5. I have researched the federal and state law on this matter. These two illegal aliens have already broken the law. How can there even be a livescan and background check for the two, since they are "undocumented"?

I will not address your "legal " conclusions on this issue, but LiveScan background checks have been conducted.

6. Can you explain the allegations against you coming from Sandra Orozco:

"Southeast activist Sandra Orozco distributed a list of newspaper articles concerning complaints, charges and issues with Alvarez-Glasman. They included complaints filed recently with the State Bar Association of "numerous conflicts" at Central Basin, and noting that Alvarez-Glasman has served as or is currently city attorney in Bell Gardens, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Pomona and Yountville. The latter city is in Northern California."

Ms. Orozco has been quite vocal in her views ofme and my law firm. She is not correct in her assertions. She certainly is entitled to her views.

7. I want an answer as to why I was removed from council chambers for asking questions or making comments about agenda items during the Sept 8, 2015 HP city council meeting.

The Brown Act requires city council members to allow for comments from the audience on all agenda items. You were provided an opportunity to address the City Council on both agendized and non-agendized matters before the City Council consistent with the City 's Rules of Decorum, but you chose to speak only on the Commission appointment issue. You were out of order at the September 8, 2015 Council meeting when you disrupted the meeting and attempted to speak during the non-public comment period of the meeting.

Thank you for your concern in matters involving Huntington Park.

Arnold M. Alvarez-Glasman, City Attorney

The city attorney refused to comment on the legality of the LiveScan process for the two illegal aliens.

Incredible. He is the city attorney, is he not?

Contact the Huntington Party City Attorney, and demand answers for his decision to preside and support the appointment of two illegal aliens to city commissions. Then demand the removal of the two illegal appointees as soon as possible.

Yelp! Yanked Yelp About Huntington Park City Attorney

It is not enough for us to tell people how much we dislike their choices and their behavior.

Those individuals have to receive consequences if they continue to do what we do not want them to do.

The Huntington Park City Attorney, Arnold Alvarez-Glasman, refused to answer my questions about the status of the live scan for the two illegal aliens appointed to city commissions.

I asked him about the matter just before the city council went into closed session, and he refused to say anything.

I then sent a series of questions to his law firm.

That's right - the city attorney has been contracted through his private law firm, and his clients and businesses elsewhere.

I decided to write a negative review of his law firm on Yelp!

No one should give the city attorney any business, especially if he is aiding and abetting the appointment of two illegal aliens to civil service positions, while ignoring the thousands of legal residents who live in the city and could  just as well serve the public.

A good friend of mine, David, found out what I wanted to, and posted a Facebook Event for anyone who wanted to post negative reviews of the city attorney.

Huntington Park City Attorney
Arnold Alvarez-Glasman

A few days later, I received the following email:

SEP 18, 2015  |  11:32AM PDT
Hi Arthur christopher,

We wanted to let you know that we've removed your review of Alvarez-Glasman & Colvin. Your review was brought to our attention by the Yelp community, and we found that it fell outside our Content Guidelines as it did not appear to describe a firsthand customer experience.

We want to hear about your personal experiences with local businesses. The best reviews provide context, detail and perhaps even a helpful tip or two. To learn more, check out our Content Guidelines at http://www.yelp.com/guidelines.

Thanks for understanding, and we'll see you on Yelp!

Removed Content:

I would not give this man -- Arnold Alvarez-Glasman -- any business. He is presiding as the current council for the city of Huntington Park, where they have appointed two illegal aliens.

He has not enforced the city council to respect the Brown Act, and there have been numerous violations against citizens who speak to the city council.

He admitted during the last city council meeting that he did not whether the two illegal aliens' livescan was in process or not.

He is not competent, and he is not giving good legal advice. Do not give this law firm your business!

I had read over the guidelines for Yelp!, and I did not finding anything which particularly required a direct contact and service with the business in order to qualify.

Regardless of whether the site pulled my comments or not, other people took the time to make comments protesting this city attorney's connection with the bogus appointments.

Furthermore, someone must have noticed to report the comment and then have it taken down.

Whatever actions and goals people want to accomplish, conservatives must make sure to keep up the pressure, make sure that they know what we are doing, and that we refuse to be quiet.

Sometimes, the best pressure to change behavior attacks the individual pocketbooks and profits. Conservatives should not hesitate to use boycotts.

I Wanted a Walker, not a Talker

After celebrating a busy weekend with fellow conservatives and like-minded Republicans with “The Happiest Place on Earth” behind me, the bad news earlier this week hit me hard, and I felt like one of the saddest people. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, the Honey Badger who never quit, “Luke Scottwalker” who took on Dark Labor and beat them in their own backyard, who had enacted every conceivable conservative reform in the Progressive Death Star, suspended his campaign for President.

This is wrong. This should not be happening. But what happened?

On its surface, Walker was overextended, ready to take his campaign national. Why wouldn’t he? He had money, support, strong polling. Then the debates came. A real estate reality show rodeo clown, a dead-beat failed CEO, and a doctor with a penchant for healing minds – but not speaking his mind so well – sucked up all the oxygen in the room.

The second debate was just awful. I did not sit through all it. Three hours of “Trump said – what do you think?” Walker was not allowed to speak. He needed to shine in that debate. It was do or die, and he did not do, so his campaign died. The new media has turned on everyone, including the consensus conservatives. Perhaps there is some truth to the critique floating around out there: even Ronald Reagan could not get elected in the modern media frenzy obsessed with every mistake and change of thought and mind. The sound-byte has taken a bite out of the political process. “I’ll fix it” has become the quick fix-it rather than comprehensive plans for accomplishing reforms.

Walker’s decision to back away is a disturbing setback, not just a personal loss, but an indictment against our country’s current political culture. Fear, frustration, and rage have distracted voters away from records of accomplishment to whatever rhetoric will fire up the base. The Framers wanted an executive not chosen by how many Twitter followers or Facebook likes, not how many times “I have made great deals” or the color of his skin or his or her gender. In fact, the Framers anticipated leadership based on reasoned consent among electors, not populist pressure from the masses. I thought we had the epitome of such disastrous outcomes with Barack Obama. Perhaps this country is headed for another clash with populist outrage instead of principled governance. Forgive me for sounding a little like MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, but: “What is wrong with you people?!”
I have heard a number of people comment that Walker was bland and boring, bearable but unbecoming, a Tim Pawlenty Redux. With all due respect to Pawlenty (whom I wish had stayed in the race in 2012), Walker was no Pawlenty. Standing up to Big Labor and the Occupy Movement is no mean feat, and Pawlenty’s Minnesota “Gosh darn it, people like me” persona would not have defeated those hordes.

In fact, Walker was no Reagan. Walker exceeded the Gipper on many levels.

Reagan supported an assault weapons ban. From Day One, Walker defended the Second Amendment, and expanded the enforcement of the right in his state.

Scott Walker

Ronald Reagan (along with Richard Nixon and even Gerald Ford) was pro-choice before becoming pro-life, most likely because of the world’s limited knowledge about life within the mother’s womb. Walker was pro-life from Day One.

Governor Reagan signed off on smog checks and other environmental regulations, which I have to pay for every two years to this day. Walker stood up to the EPA on Day One.

Reagan was still a union guy, wining and dining with the AFL-CIO. Walker left the unions whining and begging for mercy.

Reagan cut taxes, but did nothing to stifle entitlement spending. Walker’s Act 10 reforms balanced the budget without raising taxes or laying off workers, and of all the fifty states in the union, Wisconsin has the lowest – almost non-existent  -- pension liability.

Reagan signed off on no-fault divorce, a decision which he regretted for the rest of his life. Walker defended marriage and family on Day One (in liberal Wisconsin, by the way), and even pressed for a constitutional amendment to protect the states from the creeping overreach of the Supreme Court. One article even suggested that Walker lost many donors because he refused to recognize, let alone celebrate same-sex “marriage.” By the way, many conservatives and even some moderates who differed on this issue still supported Walker.

President Reagan signed off on a sweeping amnesty, which left American citizens with the bitter betrayal which has soured immigration reform to this day. Walker repealed in-state tuition for illegal aliens, joined the lawsuit against Obama’s executive amnesty, promoted an American Workers First platform before anyone else (even Trump). Before suspending his campaign, he declared that this country should take no Syrian refugees.

And with that, I will leave you with the best moment of the First Debate – the only one that really counts so far -- the final comments from my candidate for President of the United States:

“I took on the big government union bosses, and we won. They tried to recall me, and we won. They targeted us again, and we won. We balanced the budget, cut taxes, and turned out state around with big, bold reforms. It wasn’t too late for Wisconsin, and it’s not too late for America”.

Reagan talked optimism, teaching us we could hate the government yet love it at the same time. Walker carried that optimism to an optimal level, showing us that the government should depend on us, not the other way around.  Walker was a winner, not a whiner. He was an explainer, not a complainer, a team player, not a “me player.” Notice how he repeated “We” not “I”.

How else can I put it: I wanted a Walker, not a talker. Will it be too late for America? Time will tell if the other candidates can combine a strong record with an unwavering resolve in the face of media attacks, left-wing plots, and violent demonstrations.

Justice for Huntington Park Citizen-Patriot Nick the Greek

Nick Ionnidis came to the United States in 1969, seeking a better life.

He found not just a better life, but a better calling, and served as a sterling example to all freedom loving patriots, whether born or naturalized.

Nick Ionnidis "Nick the Greek"
(latinocalifornia.com)
Yet this year, the first time that I met Nick the Greek, he was sullen and angry. At the August 17, 2015 City Council meeting, he barked at a rogue city council which had appointed two illegal aliens to city commissions, in spite of the large number of legal residents who expected more from their leaders.

During the first meeting, before he commented, he showed me floor plans of his building on Gage Ave. His business. "Nick the Greek in America", still stands to this, despite numerous attempts from city residents and leaders to drive him away.

The Los Angeles Times reported in 1995 about the pressures he faced from the city council over onerous and expensive building codes:

Arriving in Huntington Park in 1969 with 25 cents in his pocket and speaking virtually no English, Nick Ioannidis, a.k.a. "Nick the Greek," was on his way to fulfilling his own American dream.

. . .

But on the brink of the 20th anniversary of his citizenship, which he'll celebrate April 21, Ioannidis may be put out of business by the system he has put so much faith in.

Last week, he went to a pretrial hearing and a judge set May 10 as the day the tailor must answer misdemeanor charges of failing to shore up his building against earthquakes, as required under municipal law and state statutes. If convicted, Ioannidis could be forced to close shop and may be slapped with hefty fines.
Nick's attorney shared the following at the time:
Ioannidis, who has pleaded not guilty to the charge, maintains that the city's redevelopment agency is trying to force him out of business so that it can use his property for other purposes, according to his attorney, Larry Lewellyn.
"Basically, (Ioannidis) believes that earthquake retrofitting is a smoke screen for other ulterior interests that certain individuals have for the property," Lewellyn said.
It appears that today, the city is using other means to get rid of their resident patriot-agitator.

At my first city council meeting in Huntington Park, Nick told me and other residents, as well as members of We the People Rising, that he was assaulted by illegal aliens in the city.

When he reported the crime to the police, the police officer told him to move to Florida.

Can you believe this?! Nick the Greek followed up on this comment and denounced the city council for continuing to do nothing. As more people have protested the appointment of two illegal aliens, we are learning more about the terrible attacks against Citizen Nick

Disgusting political machine chicanery is eating out Huntington Park from the inside out.

Nick the Greek's Tailor shop is a beautiful pageant, walls filled with photographs signed by current and former Governors and US Senators. His place of work testifies to his love of country. How does the city of Huntington Park recognize his service to the United States and his city?

Ignoring his pleas for respect and redress during every city council meeting.

Doing nothing and saying less on his behalf, despite attacks against himself and his property

Allowing police officers to reject his demands for protection.

Promoting (read, exploiting) illegal aliens and appointing them to city commissions instead of legal, long-time residents like Nick the Greek,

Concerned citizens have spoke to the Huntington Park chief of police, Cosme Lozamo, and have repeated asked him to investigate not only the assaults on Nick's property and person, but the inaction and disrespect from one of the city's police officers.

Please contact the Huntington Park Chief of Police, and demand that the city take action to serve and protect the LEGAL residents of Huntington Park!

Doing Business (?) in Huntington Park, CA

Like many cities, Huntington Park, CA  has its own Chamber of Commerce. This group branches out to include other cities in the region, including South Gate.

The official title of this chamber is:

The Greater Huntington Park Area Chamber of Commerce

This organization, an association of concerned and active businesses in a community, can be influential or ineffectual, depending on the time and resources which the participating businesses wish to invest in the region and on behalf of residents as well as visitors.

For the past three city council meetings in HP, I have listened to residents complain about the lack of good dining and shopping opportunities in the city.

Francisco Rivera shared at the podium that he has a relaxing time - in other cities, and wondered aloud how long it will take before he can come back to his own city and enjoy the weekend there.

Other comments have talked about the dirty atmosphere in the city, including Pacific Blvd, which used to be a frequented shopping area, very popular and profitable.

Not any more.

The latest city council meeting discussed the rising amount of trash and debris in the city, particularly because of illegal dumping.

Is anyone surprised that there is so little business and so much dysfunction? The current city council has chose to cater to illegal aliens instead of legal residents and businesses.

Where is the Chamber of Commerce? They need to clamor for law and order in their city.

This rogue city council will only scare away more business if they refused to uphold state and federal law.

For years, residents in Huntington Park decided to leave instead of resist the encroachment of illegal aliens into their city, which has ruined the character and the contour of the community.

One resident, Huntington Park Betty, ie Betty Retama, refused to run away. Where else is she going to go? If she fled to Downey or even to Long Beach, the same immoral illegality would merely seep into surrounding neighborhoods, with more people who choose to flee rather than fight.

The days of running away from flagrant lawlessness is over.

The residents are speaking out and demanding action against the city council. The Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce should do the same.

Now, after the latest city council meeting, I wanted to follow up on reports that one of the illegals, Julian Zatarain, owns a business in the city. More questions rise. How can an illegal alien, with no papers, no documents? What documents did Zatarain submit to the city council in order to get a business licenses to operate in the city?

I called the Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce last night to leave a message. I also contacted the Chamber through their Facebook page.

You can access the page at this link.

I sent and received the following messages:

The Huntington Park Business Community needs to hold the City Council accountable for violating the rule of law and permitting two illegal aliens to sit on city commissions - at the expense of legal residents who deserved a chance.

Please contact the city council members who voted for the two illegal aliens, and tell them to respect city residents - legal residents!

Thank you for the message. We appreciate your time.
Can you give me information on the business of Julian Zatarain
Our members are listed on our website. Please feel free to review. In case if it is not listed on there, we will let our webmaster know. Thank you.

I clicked on two of the links, and got an Error 404 message.

After I called the Chamber this morning, I asked more direct questions about Julian Zatarain and Francisco Medina. Did they own businesses in the city? Where?

The woman who answered the phone, Stephanie, claimed that she looked up the names, and could not find either one.

Perhaps they are not members of the Chamber of Commerce at all.

Some of the businesses listed in another Directory Link either have nothing listed, or when I called one number, I got in touch with a person who did not give an professional introduction.

Here is one sample of what I found on the Directory Link:

Trimming Land Company
(323)569-4498
South Gate, CA
Curb Appeal Group (Landscaping)
(323)841-6380
Huntington Park, CA

When I contacted the Curb Appeal Group (?) - I got one person who refused to tell me anything.

I looked under these businesses because sources had informed me that Julian Zatarain runs a landscaping businsess. I contacted a second time, and got no answer.

I ask all readers to contact the Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce and demand information on what they are doing nothing to protest the city council's appointment of two illegal aliens to city commissions. If there is no law, there is no commerce. Where there is blatant disregard for the law, there is

Have the Two HP Illegals Been Sworn in? UPDATED

I just received the following email -- reprinted below - from the Huntington Park City Clerk regarding the status of the two illegal aliens appointed to two city commissions.

Before the September 21, 2015 City Council meeting, I spoke with the City Clerk's office to get more information about the two illegals, Francisco Medina and Julian Zatarain.

I wanted any information from the city to inform me about the livescan process and the official swearing in of the two illegal aliens.

Initially, the city clerk was very rude to me -- Donna Schwartz is her name --and she told me that all of that information is confidential, and therefore does not have to be disclosed.

Apparently, she is feeling the heat from city residents and citizen activists demanding answers.

Francisco Medina and Julian Zatarain - the two illegals appointed to city commmissions in Huntington Park

Here is contents of the email I receive from the City Clerk:

This email serves in response to your Public Records Request received via person by the City Clerk’s Office on September 21, 2015 for the following :
1   Livescans for Francisco Medina and Julian Zatarain  :
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, Government Code Sections 6250,et. seq. Such information is confidential and need not be disclosed.
2.    Date and Time of the swearing – in:
Francisco Medina – 9/12/15
Julian Zatarain – 9/8/15 at 3:00 pm
3.    Who was present for the ceremony ?
Donna Schwartz, City Clerk
The Office of the City Clerk now considers this request CLOSED.
Best Regards,
This confidentiality and secrecy is doubly disarming.

The city clerk refuses to tell me anything about their swearing in. Apparently, she served as the only public official present.

How is this possible? How could this take place without anyone else being there? Are not these city functions supposed to be open to the public?

This is outrageous.

As for the livescan process, how could the city have run any documents or background checks on "undocumented" individuals? The city clerk told me to speak to the Chief of Police, Cosme Lozamo, and he told me that a livescan process is used to determine if the individual has a criminal background.

These two are already criminals by virtue of the fact that they have entered the country illegally. Now it appears that they are using false information for their processing, or the city council has decided to introduce false or misleading paperwork on behalf of the two illegals, or they decided to skirt the whole process and did not conduct any background checks at all.

I urge everyone of you reading to call the city clerk and demand that they provide full information on the two illegal aliens, and why they think that they can appoint two illegal aliens to city commissions in flagrant violation of state and federal law.

9/23/15 Update:

I sent off a second email asking for more information about Francisco Medina.

The City Clerk's office sent me the following response:

Mr. Schaper, it was actually September 2, 2015 at 11:30 am for Francisco Medina.

Initially, the city clerk gave me one date for Medina -- September 12, and now they inform me that the information is something else.

What is going on? The city clerk could not give me accurate information about one of the illegal alien's swearing in.

This is getting more sordid the more that I try to sort out what is going on.
