Having just finished your piece at Townhall, In the West, a New Birth of Liberty, and the Will to Live, I am moved to pen. I pray that your voice is magnified, at that to such a volume that, indeed, all of that perverse west coast land mass we call California will resoundingly reject the big government, progressive vomit that controls its citizenry. I further fervently pray you are increased in wisdom and audience.

One of the founding Renaissance thinkers of the time, Thomas Aquinas, rejected the edits of Mohammed and viewed the religion as a heretical perversion of Christianity, nothing more.

In Great Britain, despite his wayward actions, Prime Minister David Cameron reminded the British public: “We are a Christian country.”

There exist in this great country a wealth of likeminded individuals capable of a true restoration of our defining and enduring concepts, principles and precepts. Thankfully you, your voice, has begun to surface.

Investors Business Daily Reports on We the People Rising in Huntington Park

Monica Showalter of the Investors Business Daily published an article about We the People Rising and our ongoing efforts in Huntington Park.

The writer focused on my interrogation of illegal alien "commissioner" Julian Zatarain. Showalter's insights were particularly revealing and encouraging for our cause.

So What's Up With The Huntington Park Illegal Immigrant Commissioner?


Back in August, the city of Huntington Park appointed two illegal immigrants, Julian Zatarain and Francisco Medina, to city commissions, despite protests from citizens. The media reported that but have since been silent to their terms of office and how that's gone.

I can add more information that Showalter provided. The "commissioners" have not attended any commission meetings. The city has not scheduled any commission meetings. Why bother appointing anyone to these advisory boards?

That is, except for one guy, blogger and Townhall columnist Arthur Schaper, who made a YouTube clip of his December encounter with one of the illegal immigrants now seated in the leadership of that city's government. IBD wrote about the problematic appointments here, noting that it's very strange for two men with no apparent political experience to be gaining spots on city commissions. It's even stranger that they could not make themselves legal through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), given their young ages (21 and 24) as well as their supposedly long residencies in the U.S. Approval rates have been in the high-90% range for most.

I need to set the record straight on this post. If not for the work and wonders of We the People Rising director Robin Hvidston, Raul Rodriguez, and their camera recorders, much of the pertinent information posted on YouTube would never see the light of day, or the eyes of reporters and viewers around the world. The Public Integrity Division of the LA Country District Attorney's office would never have informed the city council of their egregious Brown Act and public access laws.

More importantly, no one would have known about my interrogation of the illegal alien Jukian Zatarain.

Which is why the persistent blogger Schaper took it upon himself, outside any press attention, to record and film just that question to Zatarain at a city meeting. Again and again, he asked Zatarain why he didn't get legal residency and follow the law as other immigrants do.
Zatarain, a native of Sinaloa, Mexico, didn't have much of an answer for him other than the process was complicated and the laws were changing. He didn't seem a bit worried about not following the law or running a city where he didn't hold its citizenship.

Zatarain is arrogance writ large. He does not obey law, and thinks that since he is immune to enforcement, he can do whatever he wants. Not any more.

Though he didn't get far, Schaper did reveal some interesting information.

I would submit that We the People Rising have gone great distances where the mainstream media and local activists besides ourselves have done little to nothing. There are some registered Republicans in the region, and one of them has given me a lot of talk, but very little walk.

1. Zatarain is slick and political, with clear ambitions beyond Huntington Park.

Absolutely he does. His Facebook page reveals his egotism and political pride:



2. Zatarain, for what he claims is a volunteer job, is getting quite a sum of money from somewhere, based on his expensive mode of dress.

Very good question. Where does he get his money? Who is paying for him to live in Huntington Parkm or anywhere in Los Angeles County for that matter? He dresses pretty well for a hard-up illegal trying to get right with the law. Who paid for his college tuition? He must have some liberal malefactor paying his way.

3. Zatarain has the power to shut out citizens asking uncomfortable questions, with no accountability.

Not sure about this one. We chased him away from the city council chambers. The city staff allowed him to hide in the conference room and the overflow meeting room, where We the People Rising had met a few months prior during their closed session.

4. Zatarain's engagement in political campaigns is illegal for a citizen of another country, something for which he has no explanation.

He is in the country illegally. Period. He has no business doing any business in the state of California.

No word on how he missed DACA or what the background check on his fitness for office in Sacramento found. Perhaps that will be Schaper's next project.

That's actually a great idea. I will look into that.

It's worth watching the YouTube video, if for nothing else than to see the arrogance of political power of those whose loyalty is to political machines, not the U.S. Constitution or rule of law.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Final Reflection

The press exists not only to inform the public and hold public officials accountable, but to get the public mad enough to do something about unaccountably public officials.

I am committed to doing my part, and want more people to rise up and do the same.

Huntington Park City Council Shenanigans: Special Sessions and Cancelled Meetings

The Four Huntington Park rogues are desperate to prevent We the People rising from protesting their city council meetings.

Since August 17th, a dedicated group of concerned citizens have stormed the Huntington Park, CA City Council for their rogue actions, appointing two illegal aliens to city commissions.

This is beyond outrageous. When I heard the news on August 4th, it got me angry enough to show up and protest.

Hundreds of protesters attended the next city council meeting on August 17th, and the audience erupted in applause and approval every time someone denounced their illegal and immoral actions.

The pressure is building.

They are an anti-liberty, communistic bunch. The only honest city councilmember, Valentin Amezquita, has endured ridicule and resistance from the younger, corrupt members of the city council. The sad part of this account, however, falls on Mayor Karina Macias, who was elected along with Valentin to stop the malfeasance, waste, and fraud eating the city from the inside out.

Macias has caved, sold her soul to the devilish political machinery in Huntington Park. Amezquita has worked with local residents and regional activists to do something to stop the nonsense in "The City of Perfect Balance."

We the People Rising accomplished a great deal at the December 15th, 2015 City Council meeting.

Mayor Macias called for recess twice, once during public comment, apparently overcome with pain and frustration at our ongoing efforts. During public comment, Councilman Amezquita addressed the city council and faulted them for the no-bid contracts, and for their petty attempts to strip his salary for three missed council meetings.

During his closing remarks, he saluted We the People Rising for our continued participation. We have rallied for freedom, and he shamed his colleagues for trying to stifle our freedom of speech time and again. May his closing remarks for Year 2015 live on forever.

Macias and her youthful cronies have tried every means to prevent us from speaking out. Their latest trick? To call emergency city council meetings, which require only  24 hours notice, and to hold the meetings in the morning, when no one can arrive.

I received a text from former Mayor Eric Loya, who told me that he had not been informed until the same day that there was an emergency city council meeting. Councilman Amezquita did not know about the meeting until the night before!

This is highly unethical, and illegal. The four rogues were scheduling a city council meeting without one of their colleagues. This is collusion at its worst, and a violation of the Brown Act.

More questions than answers abound. Why did the four call a meeting two days before Christmas? Could they not have waited until January 5th? These moves are wasting city time and resources.

I contacted the Huntington Park City Clerk's office earlier this week, and received the following email from Donna Schwartz:

Good Morning Mr. Schaper,
I am in the office for only an hour and noticed your email. 
Cancellation Notices have just been posted cancelling all meetings on Jan 5, 2016.

What was she doing in the office to begin with? The office was supposed to be closed that day. How is anyone supposed to find the sudden notices for city council meetings, special sessions, or cancellations? The website does not readily promote this information. I sent another public records request, seeking a reason for the city council meeting cancellation. Nothing has been forthcoming at this time. Here is the city clerk's link for the notice of the January 5th Cancellation
I had some trouble finding this information, and I struggled for a few minutes to help another member of our team to find it. The city council has repeatedly silenced and discouraged public comment on a number of issues. During the June and July city council meetings, I noticed that Mayor Macias would called a number of people out of order, yet would not send them out. She insisted on stifling applause and shouts of approval during public comment as well.
Now, the clerk certified -- under penalty of perjury -- each notice, including the one for the special session called on December 23rd. This is outrageous.
What is going on? I contacted two other residents in the city. Neither one of them knew that the city council meeting was cancelled until I had contacted them. Did the four rogues intend to disappoint us by  not being there? At the December 15th meeting, the city councilmembers took their time opening the doors to the chambers.
These shenanigans are another desperate attempt to stop We the People Rising and the residents in the city from speaking out and protesting their immoral and illegal actions. I predict that the city council will start calling more special sessions and then cancel the regularly scheduled meetings.
The city residents will not tolerate these dilatory tactics. City homeowners, rent payers, property owners will not allow this forever. Too many individuals have vested interests and direct business with the city council, and they cannot all be expected to watch the city website for sudden cancellations and announcements for new meetings and cancelled sessions.
Contact the city council, and tell them to stop hiding, stop breaking the law, and start serving the city and the citizens who live there!

We the People Rising Celebrate Year 2015


Tuesday, December 29th 2015.

We the People Rising celebrated our conservative activist efforts against rogue city councils, uninformed and corrupt politicians, and our frequent appearances on local and national media.

We are making a difference, because that's what this country was founded on. The Constitution begins with "We the People" and ends with "to the people" (from the oft overlooked Tenth Amendment of the Bill of Rights)

Let us never forget the stirring, inspiring words of Samuel Adams:

"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

The American Revolution broke out when farmers with pitchforks fired the first shots against the rogue British Empire.

Today, we are taking on local and state leaders, and holding federal officials accountable.

We want the government to protect our rights:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men. . ."

The Declaration of Independence laid out a basic precept, and fundamental principle of government: to protect our rights.

And right now, the government is doling out taxpayer money to layabouts and illegal aliens instead of protecting our rights.

The governments in our midst should be securing our borders. There is no freedom without security, and there is no peace without justice.

At this time, lawmakers are more intent on creating more privileges for illegals rather than promoting the general welfare of legal residents in this country. One city council, in Huntington Park, has appointed two illegal aliens to city commissions instead of respecting the honor and skills of thousands of legal residents in the city.

Throughout the state of California, illegal aliens - individuals who have not and have no interest in attaining citizenship - are receiving opportunities and entitlements while American citizens are left behind.

This is wrong. This is elitist nonsense which diminishes national identity, state sovreignty and individual liberty. And We the People are rising, not taking any more this folly.

As I had said at the August 17th, 2015 Huntington Park  City Council meeting: 

We the People implies 'We the Citizens', not 'We the Illegal Aliens'.

We the People rising have the corrupt and rogue councilmembers on the run. State senators and assemblymen are paying attention. Congressional representatives seek our support or run when we show up. Conservative candidates seeking to put "We the People" back in charge have welcomed our cause.

We the People Rising celebrated a successful 2015, and look forward to more victories next year!

The Huntington Park Illegal Aliens on Facebook: Francisco Medina

I also found Francisco Medina's Facebook page.

He also has the usual gang of Huntington Park miscreants as friends

He's been very busy. What is he doing? He goes around the country preaching amnesty, apparently.

He does not even live in this country, and yet he routinely undermines our rule of law.

This is outrageous!

He wants to be President, too?! This ambitious, vain, preening arrogance is beyond sickening. It's dangerous.

So, Medina styles himself some kind of caudillo or fanciful leader? He could not answer any of my questions about his illegal appointment. He has run away from city council meetings. There has been no city commission meeting since his "appointment", just as the city council has not held commission hearings beforehand.

What else can we learn about Medina from his Facebook wall?

Medina had a lot of time and resources on his hands. Yet he never bothered to become a legal resident.

Like Zatarain, Medina is not serving his community or this country, I cannot write that the United States is "his" country since one post showcases the Mexican flag. How can he expect to take an oath of office? He does not respect any rule of law. He refuses to integrate into the mores and customs of the United States.

What else was Medina doing, instead of becoming a legal  resident?

He was working, giving speeches (?) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. HUH?! The caption reads:

What a great and powerful speech to motivate my people and make a difference in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

"His people" -- Who does he think he is: Moses?!

He had time to visit the Statue of Liberty, and yet everything he does spits on liberty, the rule of law, and the equity of following the same standards as everyone else.

Here, he claims the importance of honesty and integrity in working with children. WHAT?! He is living in the country illegally, violating the rule of law, taking up a commission assignment which he has not right to.

"We can make the difference as long as we work hard and with honesty for the benefit of our children."

So,  I have to ask: where does this guy get all his money? He cannot pay for new cars and trips to Connecticut and New York on a car painter's pay. He was working on campaigns, when he is not even living in this country as a legal resident. He is breaking the law in more ways than one can county.

What service has he rendered? He is making the country he wants to call home all the worse, and is ruining the city he claims to serve.

It's time for Medina to go. He is a shameful man for exploiting the city of Huntington Park and spitting on the rule of law in this country.

I have reported how the Huntington Park mayor Karina Macias has blocked me on Twitter. I also reported that her political puppet master Efren Martinez blocked me on Twitter, too.

Recently, I  found the Facebook pages for the two illegal aliens, Julian Zatarain and Francisco Medina.

What does Zatarain advertise on his Facebook page?

Julian Zatarin has arrogant aspirations of grandeur, convinced that his illegal stride into public commission status will be welcomed and praised without any hesitation.

He thought wrong, and more people are protesting his illegal actions.

Shame on the Los Angeles Times for promoting this illegal action. It is no surprise to many of us who have protested and pressured the city council to do the right thing.

There is no other information on his Facebook wall. He does have Puppet Master Efren Martinez as a friend, however. Very disturbing.

Let's not forget that he could not answer any questions of mine with any seriousness. He explained that this country is a nation of laws, as if that justifies him breaking the law to reside in the country illegally and take up a commission seat in a municipality.

When does this insanity stop? These delusions of grandeur are coming to a close. Zatarain could not bear my interrogations, and he ran away from the cameras, refusing to explain why he insists on violating the rule of law in our country.

Let's state the obvious: Zatarain is not interested in contributing anything noteworthy or worthwhile to this nation. He merely wants to make himself a star, and throw this country under his feet in the process.

If he really wanted to serve this nation, he would respect our Constitution, our laws, our culture. Instead of imitating the crime and corruption of Mexico, he would embrace honesty and integrity. He would step down from the illegal, ill-gotten commission appointment, get back in line, become a legal resident, then seek a commission assignment.

He is not serving the city of Huntington Park. He is serving himself,; and hurting every legal resident and legal immigrant's chance a better life in this wonderful United States of America.


"Weekened at" Bernie Sanders Pushes Socialized Medicine

Weekend at Bernie Sanders is rising on individual donations. He is not taking in the same level of money as Hillary Clinton, but the groundswell of support will make him formidable in the early primary states.

In his last week fundraising push, Sanders touts single-payer health care as the saving element for the American burdened by rising, exorbitant health care costs.

He is really trying to buy labor votes and establish himself as the left-wing foil to corporate crony Hillary Clinton.

Sanders' latest eblast begins with the following tired screed for "health care as a universal right" blah, blah, blah:




Sisters and Brothers -

That is the language of labor unions, trying to impose a flawed impression that the collectivism of the Left creates a different kind of family. Not a chance.

I want to talk with you about one of the very real differences between Secretary Clinton and me that surfaced during last weekend's debate, and that is our approach to health care in this country.

Yes, I am not Hillary Clinton. Really? His staff seized emails and Internet data, and Clinton as Secretary of State violated the classified status of her electronic communications with two email servers, plus lying about it to cover herself.

I was, and all progressives should be, deeply disappointed in some of her attacks on a Medicare-for-all, single-payer health care system. The health insurance lobbyists and big pharmaceutical companies try to make "national health care" sound scary. It is not.

Yes, Clinton is a Big Government statist, bought and paid for by Big Business. Wall Street interests want the former First Lady, whom they know will keep the bailouts rolling out of Washington DC and flowing into their pockets.

In fact, a large single-payer system already exists in the United States. It's called Medicare and the people enrolled give it high marks. More importantly, it has succeeded in providing near-universal coverage to Americans over age 65 in a very cost-effective manner.

This baloney is patent nonsense. Medicare is a government subsidy, but thankfully nothing like a single-payer system. Men and women can still go to different hospitals, whether public or private, and there are still choices of doctors, however limited. The government does not control every facet every element of the health care industry.

So I want to go over some facts with you and ask that you take action on this important issue:

Right now, because of the gains made under the Affordable Care Act, 17 million people have health care who did not before the law was passed. This is a good start, and something we should be proud of. But we can do better.

Why does anyone read these lies with a straight face? Why does anyone still banter about single-payer universal healthcare? This terrible government program is driving many hard-working yet working-class people throughout the Western World to forego much needed health care, or wait in long lines and suffer.

The truth is, it is a national disgrace that the United States is the only major country that does not guarantee health care to all people as a right. Today, 29 million of our sisters and brothers are without care. Not only are deductibles rising, but the cost of prescription drugs is skyrocketing as well. There is a major crisis in primary health care in the United States.

That's why our health care is much better than other countries, Bernie. Otherwise, we would all look like you, half-dead and carried around by someone else.

So I start my approach to health care from two very simple premises:

1. Health care must be recognized as a right, not a privilege -- every man, woman and child in our country should be able to access quality care regardless of their income.

Making something a right does not make it more readily available. Declaring something a right does not manifest a greater supply of something, of anything. US Senator Rand Paul was correct when he declared that forcing health care practitioners to offer their services would become another form of slavery. Everyone would be enslaved to a sclerotic bureaucracy peddling long waits of palliative care instead of long-term cures.

2. We must create a national system to provide care for every single American in the most cost-effective way possible.

Such a system already exists, and would prosper if the government would just get out of the way. It's called the Free Market.

I expected to take some heat on these fundamental beliefs during a general election, but since it is already happening in the Democratic primary, I want to address some of the critiques made by Secretary Clinton and Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal directly:

Under my plan, we will lower the cost of health care for the average family making $50,000 a year by nearly $5,000 a year. It is unfair to say simply how much more a program will cost without letting people know we are doing away with the cost of private insurance and that the middle class will be paying substantially less for health care under a single-payer system than Hillary Clinton's program. Attacking the cost of the plan without acknowledging the bottom-line savings is the way Republicans have attacked this idea for decades. Taking that approach in a Democratic Primary undermines the hard work of so many who have fought to guarantee health care as a right in this country, and it hurts our prospects for achieving that goal in the near future. I hope that it stops.

Let me also be clear that a Medicare-for-all, single-payer health care system will expand employment by lifting a major financial weight off of the businesses burdened by employee health expenses. And for the millions of Americans who are currently in jobs they don't like but must stay put because of health care access, they would be free to explore more productive opportunities as they desire.

So, what is stopping us from guaranteeing free, quality health care as a basic fundamental right for all Americans? I believe the answer ties into campaign finance reform.

The truth is, the insurance companies and the drug companies are bribing the United States Congress.


Now, I don't go around asking millionaires and billionaires for money. You know that. I don't think I'm going to get a whole lot of contributions from the health care and pharmaceutical industries. I don't like to kick a man when he is down, but when some bad actors have tried to contribute to our campaign, like the pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli who jacked up the price of a life saving drug for AIDS patients, I donated his contribution to an AIDS clinic in Washington, D.C.

The reason why companies can jack up their rates is that government infiltration has stifled competition and innovation.



Secretary Clinton, on the other hand, has received millions of dollars from the health care and pharmaceutical industries, a number that is sure to rise as time goes on. Since 1998, there are no industries that have spent more money to influence legislators than these two. Billions of dollars! An absolutely obscene amount of money. And in this election cycle alone, Secretary Clinton has raised more money from the health care industry than did the top 3 Republicans -- combined.
Now, and let's not be naive about this, maybe they are dumb and don't know what they are going to get? But I don't think that's the case, and I don't believe you do either.

More reasons not to vote for Hillary. So glad that someone is taking hits at Clinton, besides a few of the front-runner Republicans.

So, what can we do about it?

Changing the health care laws in this country in such a way that guarantees health care as a right and not a privilege will require nothing short of a political revolution. That's what this campaign is about and it is work we must continue long after I am elected the next President of the United States.

Health is not a right, no more than health care is a right. Health is a choice based on responsibilities.

And because of the success we have enjoyed so far, I am more convinced today than ever before that universal quality health care as a right for all Americans will eventually become the law of the land.

It is the only way forward.
