Trump's Victories on Life and Religious Liberty

Donald Trump is getting hit from the left as well as the right in Washington DC.

I got so tired of the heated anti-Trump hate, that I decided it wasn't worth listening to the liberal, marginalized, now self-marginalizing media.

In spite of setbacks and delays on key issues, Trump's administration is advancing key reforms and programs.

First, the expansion of the Mexico City gag rule.

The initial gag rule forbids the use of American taxpayer dollars to fund abortions overseas.

The Obama Administration had rescinded this order, which President Ronald Reagan had instituted.

Now, the State Department has expanded this order:

President Trump has moved to broaden a ban on federal dollars going to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information, senior administration officials said Monday.

The so-called "Mexico City Policy" would apply broadly to organizations receiving U.S. global health assistance, compared with past versions of the ban which specifically targeted international family planning groups.

Of course, the marginalized libera media doesn't want ot talk about victories for life!

Then there's Trump's executiver order for religious liberty, whether people thought it was good deal or a dud:

The three main points of the executive order, according to a senior White House official, will declare "that it is the policy of the administration to protect and vigorously promote religious liberty," direct the IRS "to exercise maxim enforcement of discretion to alleviate the burden of the Johnson Amendment," and provide "regulatory relief for religious objectors to Obamacare’s burdensome preventive services mandate."

The two key elements of this order?

Pushing back on IRS harrassment against churches, charities, and non-profit groups, the first welcome provision protects freedom of speech and allows for more protections.

The second part which matters ot me speaks to ending the regulatory burdens of Obamacare, which had targeted men and women of faith, like in the Hobby Lobby case.

There is so much winning going on, that the media now has to drum up the most hyped-up nonsense about Russia, Comey, and the supposed subversion of our Republic. If Washington elected officials are so concerned, why haven't they subpoenaed the leadership of the Democratic National Committee? Why haven't they gone after Crooked Hillary's connection with Russia and the uranium deals which ensued?

Th truth is that Donald Trump is doing an excellent job on many fronts. Some issues he has not had the time or the political capital to challenge at this time.  Yet for all the setbacks that the media, the Democratic Party, the Deep State, and Establishment Republicans have pushed, Trump is still kicking Rump!

By the way, his statements to commemorate the National Day of Prayer are worth rereading!

The religious liberty guaranteed by the Constitution is not a favor from the government, but a natural right bestowed by God.  Our Constitution and our laws that protect religious freedom merely recognize the right that all people have by virtue of their humanity.  As Thomas Jefferson wisely questioned:  "can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?"
