It's Official: Ling-Ling Chang Sworn in as 14th California State Senator

The media have gone to every length to shut down or cover up this story. The recall of Josh Newman was another political earthquake in California's political history. The last time a sitting state senator was recalled took place more than a century ago!

This is big, but the local and statewide liberal media don't want to talk about it.

So, let's fill in the gaps and do what they should but refuse to do!

Congratulations, Ling Ling Chang!

Election 2018: Gas Tax Repeal Initiative a GO!

The movement to take back California is picking up steam like never before.

First, the recall of Josh Newman was a rousing success.

Now, the official initiative to repeal the odious gas tax is on the ballot for November.

I don't care how many public projects are taking place (or rather, space) all over the state's highways and byways. There has always been enough money to fix our roads, but Sacramento politicians wanted more for their pet projects, special interests, and of course the illegal aliens.

Thank God that more people are activating their power as citizens to stop this insanity.

Can't wait to repeal the hikes on our gas and the car registration fees.

Here's the latest from Carl De Maio's campaign to repeal the gas tax?

Friend-

WE DID IT!! Late yesterday we received the official notice that the Gas Tax Repeal Initiative has officially qualified for the November ballot!

As you know, we were concerned over the slow pace on signature verification by government officials. After threatening action over the delay, the signature verification was completed. Imagine that!

So what happens next, you ask.

It’s simple: We mount the most aggressive grassroots campaign California has seen since the passage of Prop 13!!

As you can see by our success so far with the Recall of Josh Newman and the Repeal Initiative signature drive, we are following a disciplined, methodological strategy for what we do. However, we need the funds to carry our strategy out and win.

Remember, Gov Jerry Brown has millions to throw against us in false and misleading ads. We need to be ready to get the truth out about how much the gas tax costs working families and how the politicians can divert the funds away from roads!

Thank you for sticking with us and helping us produce these successes! It is driving the Sacramento politicians nuts!!

-Carl DeMaio
Chairman
Reform California – Gas Tax Repeal Initiative

Final Reflection

The fight is far from over, of course. Getting rid of Josh Newman took a lot of work from thousands of people all over the state. Now, we need to get rid of this awful gas tax, and then we can target other "undocumented" politicians who raised our taxes to fund Sacramento's insatiable demand for our money.

How Will Cox Win? Focus on These Issues

This is what I am hoping for.

This is what I am talking about.

Let's just hope that Republican pundits and campaign workers will heed these suggestions.

The Josh Newman recall was a full-on success.

It would be great to see a whole-sale repeal of the other disastrous programs, too.

The water rationing legislation is especially bad.

I spoke with contacts in the Carl DeMaio repeal/recall effort, and they are still reeling from the victory just four days ago.

Not just repealing bad laws, it would be great to see more recalls of bad politicians who sold us all out for higher gas taxes and car fees.

Here's one I would love to see gone:

Who else would you like to see recalled?

How about every single Democrat in the state legislature?!

Recall Wins! No More Josh Newman (Photos)

I just had to celebrate last night!

What an epic victory for the state of California and for overburdened taxpayers.

The gas tax has pushed up the costs so high, that in some parts of the state residents are paying $5.000 a gallon!

It's unreal!

Bye-Bye, Josh Newman!

Here are some photos, tres apropos, in my view!

Gas Tax Repeal Campaign Celebrates Victory in Recall of Sen. Josh Newman
Politician Who Cast Deciding Vote for Gas Tax Hike is Recalled from Office

Sacramento politicians who supported the car and gas tax hikes should be asking themselves a simple question right now: “Am I next!?”

In an historic result, State Senator Josh Newman has become the SIXTH state politician in over 105 years to be Recalled from his office. The success of the Recall against Newman came despite Sacramento politicians and special interests spending more than $6 million against the Recall.

Carl DeMaio, Chairman of Reform California and one of the lead sponsors of the Recall Initiative against Josh Newman offers the following statement:

“Make no mistake about it: State Senator Josh Newman’s political career is over because he supported the car and gas tax hikes. No amount of special interest money could save Josh Newman because voter anger over the gas and car tax hikes is so intense.

Recalling Josh Newman from the State Legislature was only the first phase of our campaign. This November we look forward to repealing the car and gas tax hikes – and defeating more Sacramento politicians who backed these costly taxes that are fraudulently diverted from road repairs.

For Sacramento politicians my message is simple: you have gone too far and now you will pay the price at the ballot box.

For the California taxpayers who are struggling with high taxes my message is equally simple: Help is on the way!  Please join our grassroots revolt at www.GasTaxRepeal.org”

Reform California and a coalition of taxpayer groups recently submitted nearly 1 million signatures to force the Gas Tax Repeal Initiative on the November 2018 ballot and polls suggest the initiative will be the defining issue this election cycle in California.

Media availability – Dave McCulloch / mcculloch@capitolmediapartners.com

Facts about this massive hike:

-On Nov 1, 2017, Californians became subject to an additional tax of 12.5 cents more per gallon (20 cents more for diesel)

-Estimates suggest it will cost $700 or more per family, per year

–The tax also hits business owners who rely on transporting goods, raising the cost of everything from apples to Zinfindel

-Auto registration fees will increase as much as $175 a year - striking the wallets of hard-working families across the state

-The tax revenue goes into the state's General Fund, meaning there's zero guarantee the money will be used to actually fund the transportation "fixes" they claim will happen

-Nearly 1 million signatures were collected to qualify the measure on the November ballot; just over 550,000 were required

Protesting Tax-Hiking Pro-Illegal CA State Senator Josh Newman Re-Election Campaign: Fullerton, CA

Josh Newman won the state senate seat to replace Bob Huff in 2016.

He won by 1,000 votes. Manifold allegations of voter fraud dogged the outcome of the race.

Now he's facing a recall, an effort launched by Senate Minority Leader Pat Bates and company to stop this lawlessness.

Josh Newman was the key vote for the gas tax hike.

He also voted to turn California into an outlaw state. He even helped revive the Cap and Trade betrayal program.

One source informed me that he's not even a veteran. Whatever his status, he has no right to hide behind the colors of the flag to push his regressive, leftist agenda.

Orange County residents need to wake up and throw this guy out of office. He never should have been elected in the first place.

At the campaign headquarters in Fullerton, a motley crew of union workers and retirees showed up.

They had a few keynote speakers, including State Senate Pro Tem Emeritus Kevin De Leon and Toni Atkins, who is the new Pro Tem. Such a coven of corruption and collusion is just sickening, especially right there in the heart of Orange County.

Wake up, people! Newman has to got to go!

Other state senators were there, including my own, Ben Allen, along with Queenie Steve Bradford, Michael Portantino, and others. Don't they have work to do for the people of California?

The volunteers there to fight the recall against Josh Newman were really surprised to see me there. I have a new bullhorn now, and they told me about three times to turn it down. A couple other people showed up to block me from speaking and protesting against the state senator and the herd of Democrats.

One pair put up a screen to prevent me from recording the event. A few other people tried to touch me or stop me from recording, but I refused to be silenced. I thought that Democrats were all about tolerant and inclusive!

Some of the people in the crowd actually claimed to be Republicans. I have never been so disgusted, and I don't believe any of them. A big "boondoggle" sat in the middle of the parking lot, too. Now the Democrats care about spending? Really?!

Don't make me laugh!

For an hour, the Democratic progressive leftists faithful tried to shout over my bullhorn, but I kept making as much noise as I could, refusing to let Josh Newman get away with robbing working Californians while giving away money to illegal aliens, welfare queens, and perverse special interests overwhelming the state capitol.

At the end, I started talking about all the #MeToo controversies which have dragged down a number of Democratic state legislators in both chambers. The shameful display of arrogance from the Democratic Party is beyond belief.

The voters in the state of California need to understand that the Democratic Party is completely in bondage to the lies and deceit of the regressive left. They are full-on communistic now, determined to take from those who make and give to those who take, and not just homeless people.

Even driving to and from Fullerton, I was astonished at the bad roads, the closed businesses, and the growing dirt and blight in the area. This is terrible! I am in Orange County, and it's starting to look more and more ghetto by the minute. We need to take back California.

After the rally dispersed, I found my state senator Ben Allen there. I confronted him over the gas tax, and how he could support that. He tried to change the subject, talking about President Trump and how he wanted to raise our gas tax. Really?! I asked him to prove it, but he chose to run away instead.

Funny! When I asked him about the homeless veterans, he didn't say anything. What is Ben Allen doing in Fullerton, anyway? Shouldn't he be focused on Santa Monica and the South Bay?!

One major step to accomplishing that begins with recalling Josh Newman and electing someone else to take his place. We need more people to stand up to the Sacramento Deep State Swamp which is swallowing working people, ignoring our veterans.

After the "Rally" ended, I walked back to my car, only to see State Senator Richard Roth walking back to his car. It was a YUGE gas guzzler. Why was he using his jeep for a campaign event? The license plate even read SD 31. WHAT?!

The voters in Riverside County deserve better than Richard Roth, and the voters of North Orange County need to get rid of Josh Newman! Here's the ticket you need to deliver to Newman on June 5th:

"Newman! Newman!" CAGOP Recall is On!

LA TIMES: “Sen. Josh Newman, targeted by the GOP for his gas-tax vote, will face recall election on June 5”
Arthur - With successfully and cynically delaying the recall election, Capitol Democrats have shown they will do whatever it takes to protect their power – even if it means undermining direct democracy. But Sen. Newman can’t hide behind his powerful friends in Sacramento forever. JOIN THE FIGHT!
With the election happening in June, we need to lay the groundwork for victory and fund programs in other key districts as well. If we’re successful, we will deny Gov. Brown’s supermajority he’s used to shove his liberal agenda down the throats of hardworking middle-class Californians. Are you with us?

And don’t forget about his failure to protect taxpayers in Sacramento, Arthur. Because of Josh Newman’s deciding vote on the gas tax, gas prices increased by 12 cents a gallon. Newman’s vote means the average family will pay about $4,000 more in taxes. Join our efforts today to recall Newman!
Newman must be held accountable by the people of his district for his deciding vote on the toxic gas and car tax.
Thanks,
Team CAGOP

DeMaio: Gas Tax Repeal a GO!

Carl DeMaio is revving up the movement to help We the People of California.
Carl DeMaio
I am really glad that I could help out with this movement, as well as the efforts to take out Josh Newman, the state senator in North Orange County who voted for the gas tax hike.
Check out his latest appeal for funds:
We have just heard back from the Secretary of State's Office that August 22, 2017 is their recommended deadline for our coalition to file the text of our car and gas tax repeal initiative!
Before we file, we must complete our legal vetting process and show our coalition partners that we have enough funding in the campaign to collect the signatures.
I recognize that you are willing to volunteer to collect signatures for free and we will DEFINITELY need your help with that. However, please recognize that we do need campaign funding so we can pay for the legal fees, filing fees, signature validation, and supplement the work of our army of volunteers.

As you know with our success in the Pension Reform initiatives and the Recall initiative, we've done this before – and we do it right. I wouldn't be asking if it were not critical at this time to raise funds to proceed.
Please help! We cannot allow this car and gas tax hike to remain in effect – it costs too many Californians too much and the politicians will simply raid the funds like they always do!
Thank you!
Carl DeMaio

WINNING! Newman Gets a Recall!

Thank GOD!

The Republican Party of California is not a total lost cause.

I was worried. Really, what else would it have taken to ensure that our government actually served we the people rather than they the special, corrupt, lawless interests?!

There is a hope for this state.

Check out the latest eblast from the California Republican Party:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 916-532-4451
June 27, 2017 kmacgregor@cagop.org
84,988 Signatures Submitted to Recall State Senator Josh Newman
Today, the California Republican Party (CRP) announced that it has collected and submitted 84,988 signatures in the effort to recall State Senator Josh Newman. The campaign needs at least 63,593 signatures from voters within Senate District 29 by mid-October to qualify the recall for a vote.

“Voters in Senate District 29 have made their opposition to Newman’s vote on the gas tax and car tax increases very clear. The speed with which voters signed the petitions is a testament to the anger they feel towards these tax increases and a fear of what liberal Josh Newman might decide to tax next,” stated California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte.

In a cynically corrupt attempt to shield Senator Newman from the impending recall, Democrats in the Legislature scrambled to pass Senate Bill 96, a gut and amend bill that would needlessly extend the state’s recall approval process, denying voters in Senate District 29 the due process of a speedy election.

“It is a clear abuse of power for the same legislators who voted for a wildly unpopular gas tax to now change the rules applying to recall elections in order to protect their colleague form the voters of his community,” stated Brulte. “The Democrats’ attempt to quell the movement by retroactively changing the rules is pure political gamesmanship and completely undermines our democratic process."

In light of the legislative tomfoolery the CRP will continue to circulate recall petitions and turn in signatures to ensure all voters who desire to sign have the ability to do so.

###

This is great news!
The Republicans and all the conservative activists raised enough time and resources to collect the signatures.
We have it within us to change the course of the state of California.
We the People can do this! I am so honored that I could join the fight and help collect signatures in Brea California earlier this week, too!
By the way, I am convinced that Newman should not have won that senate seat. It was the slimmest of margins following a sudden surge of votes in the last weeks of the count. I say "Voter Fraud!"

Update: Democratic Veterans Club Trying to Protect Josh Newman

Just because an elected official is a veteran does not give him a pass to vote for legislation which harms us, limits our rights, and takes our money.

Josh Newman, Democratic US Senator who barely squeaked by to win Senate District 29 in North Orange County.

The numbers should have favored another Republican victory, but reports indicated that Ling-Ling Chang didn't hustle for the seat.

That loss gave the Democratic Party the slim supermajority to do pretty much whatever they wanted to.

AWFUL.

The recall effort has been revving up, and the Democratic Party in Sacramento is terrified.

So much so, that they changed the rules--unfairly--to protect tax-hiking, illegal alien pandering Josh Newman.

But they are still worried.

Check out what Democratic consultant Basil Kimbrew sent out on his listserv:

ATTENTION VETERANS & COMMUNITY

Greetings Arthur Christopher,

OPERATION SAVE SENATOR
 JOSH NEWMAN

Senator Josh Newman Army Veteran

Chef Basil: Operation
 Senator Josh Newman Army Veteran
HOOAH

Our very own veteran and past 1st Vice Chair of the Veterans Caucus, Senator Josh Newman, needs your help right now.
Republicans are collecting signatures to conduct a recall election and Senator Newman has only been in office for 6 months. His seat is critical to the State Senate because he gives Democrats the 2/3 super-majority to approve taxes without any Republican support.
Democrats need to stand up and #MaulTheRecall.
Senator Newman cares about Californians as evidenced by him voting for California's single-payer health care (SB 562), voting to make California a Sanctuary State (SB 54), and voting to raise taxes in order to pay for desperately needed road repairs and public transportation.
But, he barely won his election in November 2016; by 2,500 votes out of a total of 318,000 cast. That's less than a 1% difference!

If we want to keep making progress in California, we need to #MaulTheRecall.
We need volunteers to reach out early and combat Republican lies to get voters to sign the recall petition.

Sign up at dontsignrecall.com or call 714 882 1267.

Volunteers shifts are available everyday from 10am to 6pm--please sign up to #MaulThe Recall.

#MaulTheRecall?

Really?

Why this violent, sinister element to the fight against the recall?

Why?!

This eblast from a well-connected, active, and controversial activist highlights the fact that "The Democracy" is committed to pull every stop to ensure their iron grip on political power in the state of California.

Veterans, Republican and Democrat, did not fight in foreign wars and protect our domestic liberties to ensure local totalitarian governents would undermine American citizens.

This is shameful. It's time to oust Newman and the entire Democratic hegemony ruining the Golden State!

SB 96: The "Stifle Recall" Bill? The "Save Josh Newman" Bill?

State Senator Joel Anderson is launching the latest campaign against another bad bill in Sacramento.

Or is it?

Check out his eblast:

banner

Dear Friends,

Some of my colleagues are trying to steal your voice by changing the recall election rules with Senate Bill 96.

If passed, this measure would put new obstacles in the way of qualifying a recall election for the ballot and make it hard for you to recall any legislator you believe to be unethical, corrupt or incompetent.

I believe that when Senators believe keeping power is more important than serving people, that breeds corruption. Here’s my floor speech on yesterday regarding the effort to game the system to protect those that are currently in power: https://youtu.be/sRDSX_phl7s

I need your help. The vote for SB 96 is on Thursday. Will you call your legislators and tell them not to steal your voice?

As always, it’s an honor to serve you.

Sincerely,

Joel Anderson
Senator

I looked over one part of this legislation--at least what I received from reports.

Recalls are a part of the political process

This bill, if passed into law, would allow signatories to recall an elected official--to remove their signatures more easily if they changed their minds.

One source has told me that this move is not about the Josh Newman Recall, but actually it's about saving Democrats who will face massive recalls from the Nurses Union when the Democratic state assembly reps vote down the signle-payer bill SB 562.

Get out the popcorn, folks -- politics in the State of California is about to get a whole lot rougher!

CAGOP: Recall Josh Newman--HE is TOAST!

Arthur --
State Senator Josh Newman (SD-29), who was the DECIDING vote on the 10 year $52 billion gas tax hike, is being recalled by the people of his district for his vote to raise taxes on millions of middle class Californians.
Hard working Californians will be digging deeper in their pockets to pay more for every gallon of gas and vehicle registration while Democrats can continue to misuse transportation money, even siphon it away to other projects. The fact is – Democrat elites have mismanaged your transportation funds for far too long.

Josh Newman has failed thousands of constituents, Arthur. We must fight back!

California GOP: Governor Brown Just Called Me a WHAT?!

The California Republican Party is fighting back.

They are targeting Josh Newman, Democratic State Senator from North Orange County for recall.

It's for Californians to also target Jerry Brown, the free-loading Governor who thinks that evereyone of us should pay for the scores of illegal aliens, welfare queens, and public sector union princes who live off of everyone else's tax dollars.

This governor just called me a freeloader?

Excuse me? I am fighting for a better life in the state of California.

I want to see everyone taken care of, who is taking care of themselves as best as possible.

This Governor Moonbeam should be turned into Governor Airhead as soon as possible. How much more offensive can the political class get?

When does the abuse of law-abiding citizens stop?!

It's stops here, with us, the California Republicans!

Arthur --
While Gov. Brown was trying to defend Democrat State Sen. Josh Newman, who was one of the deciding votes on the new $52 billion gas tax increase, Brown gave us new insight into how he really feels about Republicans…
“The freeloaders – I’ve had enough of them,” and then he goes on to say, “They have a president that doesn’t tell the truth and they’re following suit.”

Wow. This is unbelievable, Arthur. Hard working Californians will be digging deeper in their pockets to pay more for every gallon of gas and every vehicle registration while Democrats can continue to misuse transportation money, even siphon it away to other projects.

Thanks,
Team CAGOP
