Confronting the aggressive “Pride Month” push in government-funded mental health facilities

California mental health patients forced to celebrate LGBT pride – or get kicked out if they complain

“Pride Month” continues to be an excuse to push the LGBT agenda on people who would rather be left alone.

Medical facilities, even government-supported mental health facilities, have become aggressive in celebrating LGBT “Pride Month.” It’s (purposefully) unavoidable and is particularly stressful for religious Christians. This must be confronted, not ignored.

The Clarvida Wellness Center Central is located in Orange, CA. It provides mental health services for county residents in need. It is funded by Orange County, along with state and federal funding. The Clarvida company is a nationwide local government contractor that provides therapy, training, counseling, and other services to people dealing with trauma, behavioral challenges, and a variety of other mental health issues.

 The plaque on the outside of the Wellness Center building clearly indicates that it's a government-run facility.

During the second week of June, two patients at Clarvida Wellness Center Central reached out to MassResistance for help. They complained about the overt LGBT “Pride Month” propaganda in the facility, and they wanted to stop it. As Christians, they felt bullied and discriminated against.

They said that “Pride” is being pushed throughout the building. “It is making our life hell by turning innocuous activities like jewelry-making class into ‘make pride-themed jewelry.’ And it's not optional,” they said. “The Wellness Center has also turned a weekly Art Class into making ‘pride’ centric projects.”

 “Several of us are very upset by this because we are Christians. It’s such a hostile environment that even some atheists and agnostics have complained, asking why everything has to be hyper focused on pride activities and sexuality, ” they added. “The Wellness Center does not support or celebrate drunkenness, drug abuse or any other unhealthy destructive lifestyle – except sodomy and transgenderism.” Moreover, they said, the Center celebrates a month of “Pride” but does not observe Easter or Christmas.

They said they are not allowed to wear "Reclaim the Rainbow" T-shirts because that is considered “hateful.” MAGA clothing is also prohibited.  “But if we dare refer to someone by a wrong pronoun, we can get evicted.”

“The program and treatment are voluntary, so they told us that if we feel uncomfortable we are free to leave. That’s their attitude. We are afraid to complain too much because the staff is so militant about promoting this abomination – and normally the rest of the year it is not this bad.”

Additionally, they told us, “Many of the patients at this Wellness Center have severe conditions to where they can't obtain a driver's license or open a bank account because they are at a level like mild or moderate mental retardation. What the Wellness Center is doing is basically grooming the disabled.”

Ironically, Orange County is one of the more conservative areas of California. In June 2023, the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted to ban the Pride flag from flying on county properties. Only the U.S., California, Orange County, and POW/MIA flags are allowed.

Staffer defends the one-sided promotion

One of the patients approached a staffer (and videoed part of the conversation with his permission) and asked him why there are LGBT flyers, but Christian material is not allowed.

The staffer compared Christianity to a political issue, and said that if the Center allows that material, it's as if they’re promoting it. His antagonism against Christianity was not hidden: When the patient said that the Bible considers homosexuality an abomination, the staffer said that the Bible created a culture hostile to women and endorsed slavery.

The staffer said that the Center is not promoting the gay agenda. “It's an LGBTA+ support group. That group is allowed to exist, and their flyers are allowed to exist,” he said. “You don’t have to come here.” That is the kind of “reasoning” that the patients have to put up with.

The radical LGBT movement is promoted company-wide

What’s happening to patients at the Orange County facility is clearly being done across the country. Clarvida’s national website has a page devoted to “Pride Month” that reveals how radical this company is.

Its suggested “daily activities” for a week of “Pride” include two days of “Stonewall” articles and videos, donating to the poisonous “Trevor Project” (which counsels teenagers to be transgender or “gay”), updating one’s email signatures to include “pronouns,” and participating in LGBT activism by working with the toxic “Human Rights Campaign.”

 The Clarvida national website reveals how determined it is to push this agenda.

A demand letter from a law firm!

As the date approached, it was very upsetting to the Christian patients. They decided that they should be allowed to give their point of view at this event – and not be in danger of eviction from the facility.

One of the Christian patients contacted a law firm in Los Angeles. The lawyers agreed that because the Center receives federal funding, it has an obligation to allow both sides to be presented.

The firm drafted a strongly worded letter to the Wellness Center demanding that the Christian patient be allowed to present her viewpoint at the Pride event:

[The patient] demands that you immediately and fully allow her to present counter-points or her opposition to the event being celebrated. She further demands that Clarvida Wellness Center allow her to read from the Judeo-Christian Bible at your event that is taking place and distribute literature from a Christian perspective and articulate her deeply held beliefs about gender and sexuality.

The letter was mailed (via USPS) and also emailed to the director of the Wellness Center. But neither the patient nor the law firm ever received acknowledgement that it was received, or that she would be allowed to speak at the event. It was very disturbing.

The patient decided to show up at the event anyway with a prepared speech. She asked Arthur Schaper, the MassResistance National Field Director (who lives nearby) to accompany her as a guest, for support.

On the morning of June 20th, as Arthur approached the Wellness Center entrance, the Center’s program director and manager both came outside and stopped him from entering.

The program director bluntly said, “You are not welcome here.” Arthur said he was a guest of one of the patients. The reply was, “We’ll talk to her about this when she gets here.”

 As the program director and manager were barking at Arthur, the door to the Wellness Center opened. It showed that the first thing people entering see is a big electric rainbow sign.

Arthur asked him why they were violating the county rule about flying pride flags. He said that it only applied outside a building, not inside.

The manager said they are a private company and don’t have to answer to Arthur. He accused Arthur of having an agenda “to be disruptive at our event,” which Arthur strongly denied.

Arthur asked the manager if he’s seen the letter from the attorneys demanding that the patient be allowed to present an opposing opinion. He said, “I have no comment on that.” The manager said that the patient may come to the event but must be “respectful” and “not disruptive” or “in any way offensive” to the event or staff, or she will be forced to leave.

Arthur asked the manager why they were promoting destructive behaviors like homosexuality and transgenderism in a wellness center. Not surprisingly, he refused to answer that.

Then they walked back into the Center. Arthur waited outside, but the patient never showed up. She later told Arthur that she had decided there was no point to attending, because the Center’s refusal to answer or acknowledge the law firm’s letter indicated they would not allow her to give a different point of view at the pride event.

Final thoughts

This abuse (on many levels) of mental health patients, funded by tax dollars, must be stopped. The government entities that are allowing this need hard pressure from good people!

We’ve heard that it’s likely that the patient’s law firm will pursue this as a violation of federal law and a blatant case of discrimination, and may be taking this (to start with) before the Orange County Board of Supervisors, the principal funder. We’ll see what happens.

Cancel Culture: Republican Club of Laguna Woods Accepts Men in Dresses, Rejects Biology, Cancels MassResistance

Well, the decline and fall of the California Republican Party continues unabated.

The CAGOP has liberals masquerading as Republicans running the party brass. The whole apparatus has turned into a patronage operation. Fewer party leaders are actually interested in running for office, or in winning elections, shaping the culture, turning California into a livable state once again.

Instead, they continue to pander and cave to the Left, turning themselves into Democrat-lite. Why vote for the Lite version when you can go all in and vote for the Democrat Party completely?

The CAGOP top brass is interested in watering down the party platform even further. They want to cave on the fight for life, marriage, family, etc. I am sure in a matter of time they will start saying "It's OK to modify Prop 13" and "Guns aren't really that important."

At any rate, the latest sign of this tragic trend occurred for me earlier this month. To get the whole story, I have to go back to July, 2023, when I attended the latest Orange County Republican Assembly picnic, based in Stanton, CA.

One would think that the most conservative Republicans attend this event. The "Who's Who" of conservative activists, what few remain in California, often show up to this program and tell everyone how to keep fighting the good fight. One of the attendees, the husband of a city councilwoman in South Orange County, heard that I work for MassResistance, and he was really excited to meet me. I eventually connected him with our President, Brian Camenker, because he wanted to speak with him. Why? MassResistance had presented key oppo research to Republican voters in 2008 and 2012 telling them to reject Romney at all costs!

Fast forward a decade later, and conservatives like this man were still grateful for the work that our organization had accomplished!

Then another club leader, Pat Micone of the Republican Club of Laguna Woods, met with me. We talked about a number of great things, including MassResistance's fight against the LGBT agenda in all of its forms. It really seemed that we had a lot of great things in common. She even invited me to give a presentation to her club, the Republican Club of Laguna Woods, about MassResistance!

They suggested that I give a presentation on the first Friday in September. I was prepared for that date, and I started putting together a key presentation for them just a week before. They contacted me, and they said that their calendar was actually going to be full for that day, so they suggested that I give my presentation in October.

Here were the first remarks that I received from Pat Micone, just before I sent them my PowerPoint presentation:

I sent them my full presentation, which talks about MassResistance, our goals, our efforts, our effectiveness in fighting the culture war against the LGBT agenda in all of its forms. In that presentaiton, I also went after so-called LGBT "Republicans," and pointed out that for any political party, or any political movement, to be effective, you have to stand for truth, tell the truth, fight for the truth, and not give into lies.

She acknowledged that the PowerPoint presentation that I sent to her was good!

She then comes forward and shares with me that one of the members of the Republican Club of Laguna Woods is a man in a dress. The fact that Pat Micone described this man as a "transgender woman" right away was really disturbing. Whatever happened to standing for truth? I wonder if Pat Micone, who is a woman, can even define "What is a woman?"?

Notice how in the response above Pat Micone insists on calling this man in a dress "a woman," and that "she" is a good person .... and "getting active in our Republican [sic]"

First of all, there is nothing good about a man stealing and deceiving the general public, calling himself a "woman." There is nothing good about a group of people, or a community, or a country for that matter, celebrating someone who lives in a delusion, engages in deception, and make everyone go along with the dysfunction.

I also found it particularly galling that they added he had been a "transgender woman ... for 30 years," as if that makes the whole thing better. It doesn't matter how long a disordered, confused individual pretends to be something that they are not. A man cannot become a woman, and a woman cannot become a man.

One would think that the Republican Club of Laguna Woods would have some integrity on this issue. After all, one of their previous guests was key Epoch Times commentator Siyamak Khorrami, who has not been afraid to tell the truth about many problems in the state of California:

This is total madness. And this is in a Republican club in what used to be "conservative" Orange County. Congressman William Dannemeyer must be rolling over in his grave. As for Congressman Robert "B-1 Bob" Dornan, it's no surprise that he moved to Virginia and stayed there at this point. What real conservative Republican would want to sit around and watch not only the state of California, but the so-called conservative opposition party collapse into a morass of liberal irrelevance?

So, the Republican Club of Laguna Woods is willing to sacrifice truth so that they could have another member. Really?

What's next? Will the Republican Club of Laguna Woods accept Democrats? Perhaps they already have  ...

At any rate, here came the final response from Pat:

Why did I get this message? Pat Micone had been so excited to have me present to her club. She was interested in my story, she was aware of my views on key issues. Then all of a sudden, she and her club said: "No thanks. Hit the road." 

Why?

They didn't want to offend the man in a dress. They probably have out-homosexual members of their club, too. And worse yet, they are worried about offending the weakened and liberalized Republican Party of Orange County. They probably feared that diminishing club would cut off what few remaining privileges remain for them if they had me speak.

This the California Republican Party, folks. This is the state of the Orange County Republican Party, too, especially in South Orange County, one of (what used to be) the most conservative sections of the most conservative county in California, if not the entire United States.

How demoralizing!

But I refuse to give up standing for what is right. It's time for activists to stand up to all of these lies, and if necessary start their own movement to get people elected to local and higher office. These "Republican" clubs are becoming a joke, a bunch of people who sit around, eat a nice lunch (or dinner), listen to a speaker tell them how terrible Democrats are and how bad things are in California, and then ... go back to doing nothing; and along with their quiescence, they invite confused men wearing dresses and call them "good people."

When does the insanity stop?! Are older adults so cowardly now, that they refuse to stand up to a confused man and tell him: "You are not a woman!"?

Right away, you know that Larry is a racist groomer, because he references the well-known hate group called "The Southern Poverty Law Center."

The SPLC thinks it's OK to attack churches and other pro-family organizations.

The SPLC has a long history of defaming Jews, Muslims, Christians, and immigrants.

The SPLC fought to take away school choice for black students in Mississippi.

They are OK with pushing pornography and LGBT indoctrination on kids in public schools, and doing so without parents' knowledge or permission.

The SPLC is an anti-Semitic, anti-Christian hate group ... and Tenney loves them. Birds of a feather, right?

Right away, we have a very dingy perv who has a problem with women, and with immigrants. Michelle Steel is a strong, resourceful lady who has done much in her life, before she ever entered into politics. She has run businesses, she has been a diligent, faithful servant for her family.

Since he has the LGBT groomer flag on his masthead, one would think that he could not identify, let alone define what is a woman. And yet, he wants to shame the chief executive in one of our states ... and why?

Because he does not support school choice for children, especiallly black and Hispanic kids?

Because he thinks it's OK to push pornography on children in public schools and libraries?

Because he thinks it's OK for confused, disgusting men to dress up as garish parodies of women and gyrate sexually in front of children?

For the record, Governor Huckabee-Sanders signed off on bills which expanded school choice for all children, while also fighting to remove obscene materials from schools and libraries, and she signed off on legislation to protect children from creepy drag shows and drag queens.

One has to wonder: is Larry a drag queen on the weekends, too? He probably has to resort to such sinister employs, since judging by most of the stuff he does on social media, he really doesn't have a job, or a life, or much of anything.

Then, of course, he froths at the mouth about white supremacy:

What's so sick, what's so hypocritical about all of this is that liberals, progressives (whatever) like Larry Tenney are the white supermacists! For decades, these hateful, white liberals have been targeting minorities (like Michelle Steel) and shaming them for their conservative views.

The hatred directed towards the Westminster City Council during the fight against Sanctuary State law SB 54 in 2018 was considerably disturbing, as well. Surely, Larry Tenney was A-OK with that kind of bigotry, too.

And getting back to the SPLC, which was founded by a white supremacist, Morris Dees, who represented the KKK in court many times. He only moved into civil rights litigation for the money, and to use his mail marketing schemes to rip off hundreds of millions of dollars from gullible corporate interests.

But it gets worse for hatemongers like Tenney.

Briana Walker, aka KREEPY Minivan Karen Defends Sex Business in Irvine

In a previous post, I introduced to readers Briana Walker, aka In Minivan Hell, an angry OC Karen who has a problem with people who don't look like her.

I particularly exposed her for her perverse need to defame and shame patriots who want to protect children, who are generally conservative and care about their communities, and who are committed to standing up to the common-place left-wing harassment building in California.

Today, I need to share with all fo you that Briana Walker is now trumpeting (or should I wrote "strumpeting") her support for a so-called sex positive business in Irvine, California, where she lives (I suppose).

She is actually defending a sexually perverted business in conservative Orange County. 

Really?

She does this all the while pretending to care about the health and welfare of so-called at-risk youth. The truth is that she wants to push the destructive, harmful, degenerate LGBT agenda onto children and adults alike. As I have said before, anyone who celebrates LGBT-anything is a pervert and a predator. It's is absolute grooming, and absolutely creepy that any mother would want to flaunt and promote such sexually degenerate commerce in a family-friendly city like IRVINE.

Michelle Steel Calls Out Racist Rouda

 This is the kind of thing that Republicans need to pay attention to and drill down on.

I suspect that progressive groups around the country are targeting moderate(ish) Democrats from 2018 who lost their seats, so that they do not run again, and instead a more progress (read, more communistic) candidate runs instead.

On Friday, national Democrats warned Rouda against lying about Michelle Steel, now a national progressive group is doubling down and calling out Harley again for running racist and misleading ads during the 2020 election campaign.   According to the San Francisco Chronicle citing an analysis by the progressive strategy and donor group Way to Win, “Democrats ran ads that were not “culturally competent.” The study called out former Orange County Rep. Harley Rouda for airing “anti-China” ads against an Asian-American GOP candidate, now-Rep. Michelle Steel, in a district that is 18% Asian Pacific Islander.” According to its website, Way to Win is a “homebase for progressive donors and organizers.” In 2020, they were committed to calling out misogyny and racism against women of color in hopes of “dismantling the patriarchy.” “It’s quite something when even national Democrats and progressives are calling out a member of their own party for lying - but that’s exactly what’s happening with sore loser and tax cheat Harley Rouda. In 2020, Rouda ran a despicably misleading and racist smear campaign against Michelle Steel, a Korean immigrant who came to this country as a teenager in search of a better life. The voters knew it then and Democrats and progressives clearly know it now - Harley Rouda is a tax cheat and a liar,” Steel spokesman Lance Trover said in a statement.  This is not the first time Rouda has been called out for his racist and misleading ad. What's really going on here, though, is that progressive groups do not like Rouda. He is not agressively progressive enough. He is too "moderate", too "go with the flow", too "corporate." Also, he is too "white". The Democratic Party has entrenched systemic racism, and they are not giving it up. Identity politics has become essential to the Democratic Party, since that is their one and only business. White males need not apply, and that includes former Republican Harley Rouda.

This kind of leftwing ravaging may help Michelle Steel in more ways than one. With Rouda forced to veer harder to the left to keep the Democratic base close to him, he will further alienate independent and event squishy Republicans who have now gone all ga-ga for Biden.

Steel might be able to stay in Congress for another term!

Gavin Hates OC: CA Governor Targets Orange County Beaches Exclusively

Already, Governor Gavin Newsom has backed off of his threat to shut down all the beaches in the state of California.

Still, he insisted on targeting Orange County.

This is even more ridiculous, since the governor is targeting once beach, one county.

This is patently unacceptable, and clearly unconstitutional.

Governor Newsom will lose this fight, big time.

We need to stand with Orange County and stand up against this agressive overreach by the Governor of California.

We need more people to speak up and say "Enough!"

Orange County Republicans - Gavin Newsom just targeted Orange County residents. Late last night a memo was sent that all California beaches and hiking trails would be closed starting May 1st. Just minutes ago Governor Newsom changed his mind and now only Orange County beaches will be closed. This is a clear attack on Orange County and revenge on our local elected officials pushing back on his draconian shut down measures. If it's safe to go to the beach in other counties with greater numbers of positive COVD-19 cases why is it unsafe in Orange County where we have been responsible and flattened the curve? Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Michelle Steel released a statement this morning as she will be looking into a response to the Governor's "overreaction and abuse of power." State Senator John Moorlach slammed the Governor "We need to trust people. If our citizens exercise proper social distancing, then we should allow access to the beaches. Let people have access to these facilities.” Where are the Orange County Democrats on this targeted harassment of Orange County residents?
