CRA Drama: Torrance Lomita Palos Verdes RA v. San Pedro "Palos Verdes" RA?

I received this letter from the head of the Torrance-Lomita-PV Republican assembly. [See Bold Type below]

Apparently, there has been some growing drama among the different chapters in the South Bay section of Los Angeles County.

The statewide organization is allowing another chapter to open up for Palos Verdes and San Pedro, here in the South Bay. The problem, though, is that another chapter, the Torrance-Lomita-Palos Verdes Republican Assembly, worked very hard to add Palos Verdes to its jurisdiction. The bigger problem is that the state leadership is allowing this new chapter to emerge, even though the outcome will run rough-shod over state and local by-laws.

What I am starting to see from the CRA is the same kind of raw pursuit for more clubs, for more leaders, but no real commitment to winning elections or building a conservative brand to take back the state. The state organization is also not responsive to local groups, which want more flexibility when it comes to members joining the club.

Another question does arise: are the local chapters getting their money's worth for all the donations that they have to send to the state organization? Members pay $25 a member, and $10-15 of that goes to the state organization. But for what? What is it accomplishing?

If the statewide organization is not going to play by the rules, why be a member? If the state organization is not going much for local chapters and candidates, what's the point?

Here's the letter from TLPVRA President Scott Carter regarding the potential take-over of the Palos Verdes area to another assembly unity. Tell me what you think:

Dear Torrance Lomita Palos Verdes RA Members,

As a TLPVRA member, it is important for you to know what's going on and as your President it is important for me and our current Clubs goals to give you our information:Currently our CRA President Johnnie Morgan, will be seeking members from our Torrance Lomita Palos Verdes Republican Assembly to be a member of the as-yet-to-be Approved "PalosVerdes San Pedro" CRA Unit.Anyone may wish to be a member of that unit anywhere in California. But here is the information for you to decide on:
Currently, their purpose is to just get members under the leadership of someone else and form a 'new club'.
The potential new president had resigned from our TLPVRA group when he was told he had a conflict of interest when he re-started another  club.
And at the same time, he secured the same speaker slated to speak to the South Bay Republican CRA unit, before they were to meet, for 'his' other group, which was not respectful to them and in my humble opinion, unethical. Now, undeterred by his previous conflict of interest behavior, he has been asked by CRA President Johnnie Morgan, VP Davina Keiser, SD (outside of her Senate District) Jo Reitkopf, to start a new Unit in Palos Verdes. This is despite the fact we are the only ones legitimately assigned to Palos Verdes in 2020. The fact they did not consult us on it, which says volumes as to the character of the leadership of the CRA.Aside from that, you are free to choose if you would like to be a memberof their PVSP Unit should you decide to.We will continue to have our Endorsements for Palos Verdes School Board and City Councils in the next meeting as well, since we have the sole jurisdiction in that area.If you do join the Palos Verdes San Pedro Club, it is not approvedfor existence yet or for CRA Endorsement of Candidates. Only the TorranceLomita Palos Verdes Republican Assembly is eligible and capable todo so.However the "Palos Verdes San Pedro Club" is meeting in TORRANCE(outside of their 'Territory', which is against the CRA Bylaws(Sec.10) in orderto establish themselves as a CRA Unit. That is a violation.)(But it has been violated before without repercussions by the leadership of the CRA.)To be held at Mimi's Restaurant and you are expected to pay (our meetings are free)for a meal ($15-20 minimum) to listen to Mr Shawn Steele (Spoke at our Group in January) and State Treasurer Candidate Jack Guerrero ( a dynamic speaker, but had schedule conflicts with us on two occasions). If you do decide to attend the meeting they may ask you to switch membership from our Club to their Club. It is up to you.
BUT WE would really like you to stay with us to continue building our Club and continue to pursue our area wide goals for Torrance, Palos Verdes and Lomita. Our newsletter will be coming out soon for our new meeting location,
we are going back to the Torrance Airport Sunday Oct 16th, 2022, with plenty of parking,NEW Time- 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Hope to see you at our New Meeting Location on October 16th.
Thank you for being a member of the Torrance Lomita Palos Verdes Republican Assembly.Sincerely,
Scott Carter

Recall Gascon Campaign Update: Still Checking the Signatures

Let's see what happens with the updated checking of signatures for the Recall DA George Gascon campaign:

Arthur,When he entered office, George Gascon employed a new approach to juvenile crime — combat it as little as possible, using the “lightest touch”.That was one of the first directives given to his prosecutors, who, by the way, overwhelmingly want their boss to be fired. How’s Gascon’s “lightest touch” policy working out? He’s empowering a new class of career-criminals.“You can walk around with a loaded firearm concealed illegally, and we can’t prosecute it. That is a misdemeanor,” said an attorney in Gascon’s office who is familiar with juvenile cases. “We used to be able to file a felony if there was a prior [conviction]. Now we can’t file anything.”Lt. Craig Walker of the LA County Sheriff’s Department said, “They get through the revolving door and don’t see it slammed shut and locked behind them. So they will keep doing [crime] like everyone else.Across the state, 9,162 juveniles were arrested for felonies last year, a 79% decrease from a decade ago.And “homicides reached a 15-year high in Los Angeles in 2022.”As former prosecutor Kathleen Cady points out, “Gascón doesn’t believe in increased penalties for anyone.” That includes juveniles and adults. And it includes violent offenses and drug offenses.“With Gascón as Los Angeles County’s District Attorney, drug dealers in Los Angeles County need not worry about being charged with enhancements for having a lot of drugs or guns,” Cady writes. As long as George Gascon remains in office, it’s open-season for LA’s criminal class.__As you know, we’ve been carefully reviewing every one of the 195,783 signatures the Registrar deemed invalid last month. What we’ve discovered so far is unsettling. Please read the following statement from attorney Marian Thompson, whose legal team is assisting our efforts:“In a few short days, through the careful examination of rejected signatures by a group of volunteer attorneys, we have seen many signatures that were rejected under various categories, that were clearly wrongfully rejected by Dean Logan’s examiners. We will continue our inspection of each rejected signature in the following weeks for the purposes of determining whether the recall examination process itself was flawed, in whole or in part, and to identify wrongfully rejected signatures in preparation for any potential legal challenges.” We will provide you with another update as soon as we have one.In the meantime, stay safe, and continue to pressure George Gascon to prioritize the safety of Angelenos over the comfort of criminals.

I am glad to hear that the right is not over.

However, if it comes to pass that the nearly two hundred thousand signatures are all invalidated, then people need to start asking more serious questions. Why were so bad signatures allowed to slip through in the first place? Why did the signature gatherers allow people from outside of the county to sign onto the paperwork?

The Right Reproduces, The Left Recruits (From the Leadership Institute)

The left relies on your children and grandchildren to reproduce. That is exactly the case for the homosexuality/transgender movements, as well.

Check out what the Leadership Institute had to say about the difference between conservatives and liberals:

They seldom have as many children as conservative families do. So they steal as many of ours as they can, using schools, colleges, and universities as their indoctrination factories.

Arthur Christopher, I hope your family hasn’t experienced such tragedy. The horror stories I hear would break your heart.

You and I must put a stop to the left’s indoctrination and brainwashing. We must create strong, young Leaders for America who stand up for the conservative principles you and I hold dear.

Will you help me save young Americans from the terrible fate the left has in store for them?

Together, you and I will help young conservatives cherish forever the pro-American, pro-freedom ideals they were raised with. Together, we’ll enable young conservative leaders to win over the hearts and minds of their fellow students to resist the left.

That’s how you and I disable the left’s indoctrination factory.

This fall, I deployed 45 full-time Leadership Institute field staff to campuses across the country.

Those top-notch field staff visit hundreds of campuses. They identify, recruit, organize, and train young people to turn them into Leaders for America.

With your support, the young conservative leaders my staff find and train will challenge the left throughout the school year, and throughout their lives.

Here’s what your support will achieve:

You’ll help young leaders bring powerful conservative speakers to their campuses.

This fall my team aims to host ten big-name speaker events, featuring the likes of firebrand Ann Coulter, the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, and President Trump’s press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. They also aim to sponsor 150 other campus speakers from the Leadership Institute and other conservative groups.

Such events draw in hundreds of students and give them a taste of conservative ideas they’d otherwise never hear.

You’ll help young conservatives get top-notch leadership training. You help the Leadership Institute take the most promising students my team recruits and train them how to defeat the left.LI’s Youth Leadership Schools provide the “boot camp training” for conservative students. These schools are the culmination of all our recruitment efforts. You can help my team train 1,000 of these top young conservative leaders in our Youth Leadership Schools this year -- and 3,000 by Election Day 2024.

You’ll teach young conservative leaders to win elections -- on campus and beyond!

Thanks to you, my team helps student leaders learn how to rally supporters behind great conservative candidates of their choice. They work on key campaigns and make a big difference right away. That’s what eight LI-trained youth campaigners did for Glenn Youngkin’s successful run for governor of Virginia last year. They pulled off a win in a state many wrote off as lost to the left.

Let’s train a whole lot more young Leaders for America to help conservatives win the big races this year, in 2024, and beyond.

You’ll also help my team work with young conservatives running for student government leadership posts. That’s a new emphasis for us this year -- and already it’s paying off.

In the spring, LI training helped conservative leaders win student body elections at schools like Houston, UNLV, and Michigan. In these key posts, young conservative leaders use their official positions to push back against the leftist indoctrination machine and end anti-conservative policies.

In all these ways and more, you create Leaders for America to stand up for conservative principles today -- and for years to come.

Will you give today to help stop the left’s indoctrination of the next generation of Americans?

Please let me count on you, Arthur Christopher. You can give securely online at this link: https://secured.leadershipinstitute.org/rescue

Let’s save our kids, our grandkids, and our country from the left.

Cordially,

Morton C. BlackwellPresident, Leadership Institute

Why do parents put up with this??

Where Critical Spectator Errs re: Homosexuality in Singapore

Critical Spectator is a Polish expat who lives in Singapore. He loves the country, he often praised the country's unique state-capitalist environment.

He also had some interesting views on Section 377a of the nation's penal code. This statute criminalizes

Why Singapore is Correct on LGBT Rights

This may be my most controversial article yet (at least to some) - but precisely because it may be considered controversial is why I believe it is important to publish it. So, let's begin with a both baffling and bold statement:

LGBT supporters and their opponents are both right.

No. One side must be wrong, because one side has clearly declared that homosexuality is wrong and aberrant, and therefore the behaviors must be curbed and criminalized as much as possible.

Yet, let's allow Critical Spectator to make his case:

Impossible? Well, let me explain.

Let's Get Physical

Little over 100 years ago, in 1915, Albert Einstein published his general theory of relativity, explaining gravity and, consequently, the behavior of large objects. About a decade later Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg gave the world their interpretation of quantum mechanics, which serves to describe the physical behavior of subatomic particles.

Unfortunately, while both are immensely valuable they lack a common link - in other words, what works for large objects doesn't seem to work at a single subatomic particle level - and vice versa.

This paradox keeps springing to mind whenever I'm observing disputes that extend from the interests of an individual to the interests of the society - clashing with them violently - with people on both sides of the front exchanging arguments, completely missing the simple fact that they are speaking from entirely different perspectives.

Indeed, people may get away with disgusting acts in private, but such behaviors cannot become appropriate or mainstream.

And, interestingly, it may mean that much like the physical theories, they are both correct, while being in conflict with each other.

One such war is being fought over LGBT rights.

That phrase "LGBT rights" is a misuse of the notion of right. A right must be universal, not particular, and not promoting one group at the expense of others. What homosexual and transgender activists want is privilege, not equality. They want promotion, not rights.

Individual Fights the Society

The differences in opinion boil down to a clash of an individualist against a communitarian view. The former - arguably more visible these days - suggests that individual freedom is of paramount importance and that people should have the liberty to do what they want even if it meets disapproval of the majority. Communitarianism preaches superiority of the common interest over individual rights.

Individual freedom cannot be the paramount value in any culture. It's simply not possible. The individual does not come into being via freedom alone. There is a culture, a political hegemony which exists before the individual. This tenet is a fundamental concern in real conservatism, and Conservatives across the country need to get back to adhering to it.

Both of these views - much like the physical theories - can coexist but will clash if they stray outside of the area they make sense in.

On an individual level there is nothing wrong with anybody choosing to live with and loving any other person regardless of their gender (and as long as the relationship is consensual). There is really no reason to deny two consenting adults the ability to live (and sleep) with each other.

Actually, there is plenty wrong with such destructive behaviors. It's a misuse of organs, it spread venereal disease, and it deprives children of the mother and father that they need to grow up. At this point, Critical Spectator starts to get the whole argument wrong.

However, while that works for individuals it does not necessarily work for the society at large.

Individuals make up society, but not exclusively. As stated above, there is a moral fabric, a cultural framework which must be respected in order for individuals to exist, survive, and thrive.

The value of a relationship to an individual is defined by the person's subjective interests and feelings. The value of relationships to the society is defined by their functional roles.

Since gay marriage does not serve a reproductive purpose it is therefore not equal to a heterosexual relationship (for the society), even though on an individual level they are both the same - i.e. are expressions of mutual love between two people.

There is no such thing as "Gay marriage." We need to stop allowing modern-day commentators to normalize this crisis of misusing language.

Conversely, forcing the communitarian expectation of a heterosexual relationship on a homosexual person is pointless for the society and harmful for the individual. It is therefore preferable that individuals retain their liberty in choosing whom to spend their lives with.

There is really no such thing as a "homosexual." People are not born gay. There is no gay gene, and homosexuality as a facet of one's behavior or personality is not permanent. It's simply not true. Once again, Critical Spectator is critically off on this point. Notice how much the discussion has continued to veer to the left when it comes to homosexuality and transgenderism. Commentators and pundits insist on treating the behavior as a static identity, when it is not.

Some people may argue that homosexual couples can have children via surrogacy or adoption but that's just trying to find a detour to reach a predetermined ideological goal, while ignoring broader implications, consequences of which we don't know yet - and this uncertainty warrants prudent behavior.

It's good that Critical Spectator throws some shade at this proposal. Homosexuals should not be parents. They cannot be parents, in fact, since they cannot reproduce.

Asia doesn't have a habit of taking all Western ideas wholesale, evaluating each of them for its usefulness instead or observing how they play out elsewhere before making a decision.

The normalization of homosexuality has wreaked untold havoc in Western Countries. The political tyranny, the cultural depravity, the moral vacuity which have ensued because of the destruction of natural relations cannot be ignored.

The first issue is the true long term impact on the children - and not only by the parents but also the society, as social stigma can impede good upbringing, even if both parents are perfect in their roles. Prevailing social norms have to be accounted for when enacting laws that address issues of a small minority. And while there is little scientific evidence of directly adverse effects, the samples used in research supporting same-sex parenting are neither randomized nor big enough - and possibly impacted by ideological bias.

More pundits need to point out how homosexual coupling hurts children. Destruction of marriage hurts children, and the corrupt proposal hurts communities as a whole.

Secondly, setting any legal precedents in one case often acts as a gateway for promotion of other ideological goals, which are even more questionable. One of them visible in the West today is an attempt at normalization of transsexualism and the queer theory, supporting the idea of gender fluidity.

Dr. Thio Li-Ann explained quite succinctly that decriminalizing sodomy was the first step in a much larger, more militant agenda. She outlined how reducing sexual differences to "Partner A and Partner B" in marriage would lead to genderless constructs throughout societies, as well as the imposition of this rank dishonesty onto every facet of the culture.

This has severely adverse effects in both formal and informal ways, with courts ruling that children as young as 3 or 4 years old can undergo gender transitioning, with parents finding it fashionable to have or raise a transgender child - including celebrities like Charlize Theron, who is transitioning her 7 year old son into a daughter. Or with informal initiatives which grow in popularity, like the "Drag Queen Story Hour", featuring men dressed up as women reading stories to children in schools and libraries around America and in a few cities abroad already as well.

Gender transitioning is child abuse through and through. One should call it what it really is: sexual mutilation of minors. Furthermore, countries should criminalize this practice for adults, too. Why should anyone--or everyone--participate in this lie that a man can become a woman, or vice versa? It's an abusive corruption of language and a vile imposition on the rest of the community. It's deceptive at its core, as well, and complicates medical as well as other cultural spaces.

Here's the summary from their website:

"Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real."

In other words, we're no longer talking about what two people do in their bedroom but what millions of children are being taught in schools at an especially important and fragile time in their approaching adolescence.

The normalization of homosexuality was never about the bedroom. Homosexual militants wanted to decriminalize their perverse conduct precisely so that they could live "out and proud" openly, then take steps to demand that everyone else accept them. This whole movement was never about consenting adults avoiding incarceration. This movement was about preying on minors and adults to practice their sexual perversion and proclivities with abandon and without limit.

I don't think it falls under "love is love" slogans. Especially as at least two of the men have turned out to be past sex-offenders. This is tantamount to a bait and switch scheme, and certainly does not inspire trust about the entire community - nor about the consequences of supporting LGBTQ causes only to be duped into letting both terrible people and terrible ideas dictate the new standards.

Those sex offenders were discovered by MassResistance at the Houston Drag Queen Story Hour programs three years ago. And MassResistance has found out that there

Is this the promised progress? Color me skeptical.

There is no possibility of tolerance when it comes to widespread sexual perversion. What people do in the privacy of their homes has public consequences. The government does indeed police and regulate behavior in the bedroom. The culture sets standards regarding what behaviors should be promoted, permitted, and prohibited within and without the bedroom.

Critical Spectator strikes me many ways as a neoliberal globalist. He supports individual freedom, yes, but within the constraints of the local culture's values and traditions. This neoliberal sentiment also means that individual freedom no matter what has some value. However, he wants to reconcile this globalist tendency with the more conservative leanings of his adopted country. That is a tension which cannot last long.

And has now frayed, since the Singapore government has declared that they will repeal Section 377a of the penal code.

Responsibility & Tolerance in Governance

I've often praised Singapore for its common sense and today is no different - even though it may sound counter-intuitive in this case. Section 377A, which (technically) criminalizes sexual relations between men is a remnant of colonial legislation, most of which was repealed in 2007. It is not applied in practice and the government has long declared it would not be enforced.

On the face of it, it would appear it is common sense to just get rid of it. But sometimes the most reasonable thing is to defend the status quo.

First of all, Section 377A serves as a political tool, appealing to largely conservative sentiments of the Singaporean society. Secondly - and crucially - it focuses attention of the pro-LGBT activists, who cannot progress beyond this obstacle with any other ideas.

The law has served as a stop-gap to prevent the spread of further LGBT perversion. Repeal the anti-sodomy statute, then the activists will clamor for the entitlement to get married, to throw parades in their honor, and then demand the "right" to adopt children.

As long as it exists, all protests will be revolving around its repeal. If it falls, one day, then it is safe to assume that Pink Dot will not dissolve - much like it never happened with activism in the West - but, instead, is going to turn to promoting other ideas, opening Pandora's box for the government.

Indeed, this is the case. With the repeal of 377a, activists across the island nation have voiced their deep displeasure. They want more, and they want it now. In fact, some see it as an insult that the government has taken the token steps to repeal a statute which they were not enforcing in the first place.

Singaporean authorities face an unenviable task of balancing the interests of the country (both its society and well-being of its citizens, as well as its global brand as a modern, supremely developed city-state) with the need to retain support from individuals across various age groups and beliefs.

I find it very frustrating that government policy must be discussed in terms of "balance." There is right and wrong, there is good and evil, there is wise and unwise, and as much as possible governments must insist on doing what is right, even if it is not popular in the short term, whether with the citizens of the country or the world at large.

At the same time the dead law exposes hypocrisy of the advocates of its repeal, proving that the government's reluctance to remove it is not unfounded.

Activists don't care about the real conditions in which gay couples live in Singapore today - free from any persecution and arguably being the safest and most prosperous in the entire region.

Homosexuals have been able to do quite a lot in Singapore, without fear or recrimination or retribution. The truth is that they condemn themselves for abusing their bodies and living in accordance with a lie. A number of Singaporean bloggers and commentators acknowledge that homosexual "communities" are fraught with abuse, negativity, and outright hatred. So much for "Love is Love."

These facts are irrelevant because political and ideological agendas are too valuable, leveraging this meaningless section as a symbol to rally support behind.

The law is not meaningless, in that curtail the normalization of sexual perversion is good for individuals as society as a whole.

Ultimately, the whole 377A drama has little to do with love or ending discrimination - even if many people who join in may idealistically believe it does. It's about exerting ideological influence on the country and political one on the government that leads it. But the authorities cannot yield, in no small part because the pressure on them would only intensify to give protesters even more later.

And yet the government has given in, and more pressure will follow.

There's always some cause in bad need of support, after all.

As a result, the best thing to do is not to enforce the law and yet leave it there to prevent more ambitious pursuits of even more dubious aims. All of that while waiting to see where these ideas lead in the Western countries, respecting the will of the majority while leaving the door open for a safe and comfortable life to the minorities.

The homosexual activists will never leave well-enough alone. They can't, since they are not well themselves, harming their bodies and struggling with issues

And that's easily the most balanced, considerate and tolerant approach you'll witness anywhere in the world.

Final Reflection

The analysis provided by Critical Spectator is thorough, for certain. He could not have predicated that the Singapore government would repeal 377a. I do find troubling his equivocation that both the government and the activists are right about 377a. This is his globalist neoliberalism standing out: "Everyone is right, and everyone has their own truth" is the jist of this misplaced mindset. No, one side is right and one side is wrong, and in politics the powers that best should strive for choosing the right side of the fight as much as possible.

The Singapore government has chosen poorly in their decision to repeal 377a. They most likely fear the potential commercial backlash from Western countries, which are intent on normalizing the destruction of the family. Rather than respecting its own borders, language, and culture, the Singapore government wants to wander further into the globalist, secularist experiment, one which treats identity politics and globalist grandstanding as more important than the long-seated traditions of the different peoples within the island nation.

One has to wonder how much longer Singapore will survive, now that the country is turning away from its singular identity as a conservative enclave in the midst of an ever-increasing globalist neoliberalism.

Idaho GOP Rooting Out the RINOs

Dorothy Moon, IDGOP Chairwoman

Wow! Congratulations to the Idaho Republican Party! They have become a true engine for grassroots conservatism, and to their credit they have pushed out a whole slew of RINOs in the state party, and in the state legislature.

They even defeated a couple of RINO incumbents in statewide office, as well!

Dorothy Moon was one of the most conservative state house reps in Boise, and she was outspoken in her efforts to keep Idaho Idaho. She ran into opposition not just from Democrats, but from RINO Establishment leadership in both chambers of the state legislature. She threw her hat in the ring to run for Secretary of State, but came up short in the primary.

But all was not lost. She ended up defeating the RINO incumbent Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party Tom Luna, who had served as the government-growing establishment Superintendent of Education.

Now that the RINOs and other liberal Republicans have been exposed and purged, they are striking back at the state party and its conservative leaders. They are propping Democrats for office, and they are pushing for statewide initiatives to dilute the vote and make it harder for conservatives to win office.

Idaho GOP Chairwoman Dorothy Moon exposes it all in her latest press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 3, 2022

Boise, ID —

A growing list of defeated Idaho Republicans are making headlines by endorsing Democrat candidates for Idaho public office, and the pattern has drawn the attention of the Legacy Media, who have frequently asked me to comment on these endorsements.

After ten-years of middling service in the State Senate, Fred Martin was defeated in this year’s primary. Now he has decided to publicly confirm what many of his own voters have long suspected by endorsing a Democrat for his former seat. Never mind that the Democrat was once his opponent. Never mind that the Democrat believes in abortion on demand after Martin has long claimed to be pro-life. Never mind that the Democrat is a member of the party seeking to sexualize Idaho’s children, after Martin has long claimed to be pro-family.

Former Idaho Supreme Court Justice Jim Jones, a self-described expert on critical race theory, has been showing his true colors, too. More than merely endorsing a Democrat, Jones is serving as campaign treasurer for a Democrat running for Idaho Attorney General. It’s just the latest in his long drift leftward. Jones has regularly harangued Idahoans about their support for legislation that enhances personal liberty. He has been an outspoken advocate for big government and rule by credentialed experts, and is a featured critic of Republicans on many Legacy Media outlets. He even writes a column in the Idaho Statesman where he has been known to comment on political races without disclosing his personal involvement in them.

Ben Ysursa is another former Republican office holder making a name for himself by endorsing Democrats. Ysursa was formerly Idaho’s Secretary of State and widely known as one of the most liberal secretaries of state in the country, Democrat or Republican. Ysursa opposed efforts to close the Republican primary – hoping to preserve the ability of liberal Democrats to meddle in the GOP’s primaries. Not one to let go of a bad idea, Ysursa is now one of the leading advocates for the effort—backed by Eric Holder and George Soros—to spread ranked-choice voting. Ysursa, like Jones, is now serving as a “commentator” for a liberal Legacy Media outlet.

Political gadfly Tommy Ahlquist has made headlines by donating to Democrat Mayor of Boise Lauren McLean—just days after McLean’s kids’ drag show debacle. After previously campaigning for office as a “conservative,” Alquist finished last in a Republican primary, then dropped the mask and revealed his liberal political leanings on social media platforms. Ahlquist published an op-ed earlier this year calling several statewide candidates “Republicans in Name Only.” Perhaps because they had failed to join him in financially backing radical Democrats?

The Idaho Republican Party is a sweeping coalition with room for many. Our Unity doesn’t come through vanity or personal ambition, but in defending our party’s principles and adhering to our party’s platform. When yesterday’s Republicans become tomorrow’s Democrats, it is fair to question whether they were ever able to set aside personal gain for party good.

Chairwoman of the Idaho Republican Party

Teachers Unions Are a Hate Group, Part 436: Tried and Failed to Repeal Arizona's Statewide School Choice Law

The Arizona teachers unions tried to repeal the latest universal school choice law passed in the state.

It's beyond outrageous. Here's the press release from the Center for Arizona Policy detailing their failure to qualify signatures for a repeal referendum:

Arizona Teachers’ Unions Apparently Fail to Overturn Universal School Choice Reform

A Joint release from Center for Arizona Policy Action and

Goldwater Institute

Teachers’ unions and other opponents of Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESA) have apparently fallen well short of the requisite 118,843 signatures needed to repeal the new law via ballot referendum, thanks to the efforts of the Goldwater Institute, the Center for Arizona Policy Action, and a statewide groundswell of parents. Based on the petition sheets released by the Secretary of State’s office, anti-parental rights groups only submitted 88,866 signatures. The tremendous shortfall in signatures is apparent based on the petition sheets made available by the Secretary of State’s office, which is due to make a final determination on the effort.

“The preliminary results make it clear: Arizona families have rejected special interests’ attempts to take away their ability to choose the education that best meets their child’s unique needs,” said Victor Riches, President and CEO of the Goldwater Institute. “Families deserve the right to choose the best education option for their children, regardless of zip code, and now, they’ll once again be able to exercise that right by applying for ESAs.”

“Arizona families want choice in education. That is clear by the preliminary low signature count,” said Cathi Herrod, Esq., President of the Center for Arizona Policy Action. “If those numbers hold and the measure does not make the ballot, Arizona families can again begin to apply for ESAs to help them choose the best educational environment for their children. ESAs are the end of the one-size-fits-all education that works for some, but not for many others.”

ESAs, which the Goldwater Institute and Center for Arizona Policy created in Arizona more than a decade ago, have been hugely successful in empowering parents to customize their child’s education experience to best meet their needs. The ESA program has gone from serving 100 students in 2011 to 11,000 earlier this year. Thanks to HB 2853, sponsored by Rep. Ben Toma, more than one million students will now be eligible.

The Goldwater Institute and the Center for Arizona Policy Action are proud to have advocated for this reform to give families more education options along with other school choice allies. Now that special interests have failed to overturn it, parents can continue taking advantage of the nation’s “gold standard” for school choice.

Let's not mince words here. Teachers unions are a hate group. They hate children, they hate learning, and they hate the freedom that comes with school choice and voucher programs. Teachers are desperate to retain what power they have left, what political capital they have accumulated, because for the last two years, teachers unions put their power and comfort ahead of parents, children, and learning. Now that parents have mobilized and organized like never before to put the needs of their children first, they are pressing on school boards and state legislatures to take the power away from the unions and restore the power to the parents.

School choice and voucher programs have long been in the pipeline of education reforms, but only now have these reforms burst through the political and bureaucratic inertia to become real mainstays in political discourse, and with meaningful results.

Every pro-freedom candidate running for office in Arizona should attack every pro-union candidate with the above press release. "They want to take away choice from parents, and I want the best choice available for parents and their kids!"

That is the winning combination we need to see in elections to come, and Arizona is the vanguard.

American Family Association: Partial Victory on DIS-Respect for Marriage Act

Dear Arthur,

Great news! Because of your prayers, hard work, and your support, God has given us a victory in the U.S. Senate. If you’ve been keeping up with our action alerts, you know that the so-called Respect for Marriage Act is a Democrat priority. The bill would provide federal protection to same-sex marriage, undermining the ability of any state to ever challenge the 2015 Obergefell decision, which forced gay marriage on the states.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) had planned to put the Respect for Marriage Act on the Senate calendar for a vote this past September. Instead, after hearing from you, he lost the razor thin vote he needed to pass the bill.

We have been working hard to encourage Republicans to stick together to defend marriage. The Democrats need 10 Republicans to join them to avoid a filibuster on the bill. Because of your emails and calls, the tide changed. We won! Praise God!

However, as you know, this issue is not going away.

The sponsors of the Respect for Marriage Act have let it be known that they are going to force a vote on the bill in late November or early December – AFTER the November Congressional elections. Some Republicans – Susan Collins of Maine, for instance – are building a narrative that Republicans are going to vote for this bill, but just don’t want to do it before the midterm elections. “It takes a lot of the political sting out of it,” confessed Ohio Republican Senator Rob Portman.

Part of the delay is because of disagreements over religious liberty protections. On one side, Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and others are working on language that is little more than window dressing for their conservative base. On the other, Senator Mike Lee (also of Utah) is reportedly working on an amendment that would provide specific protections for Christian schools and nonprofit organizations.

As we reported in August, the Respect for Marriage Act could be used to eliminate the nonprofit status of Christian K-12 schools, universities, and nonprofits (even AFA). This is a very dangerous bill and is a sign of the trials ahead.

That’s why we are going to keep monitoring this situation – and we are going to keep asking you to tell your U.S. senators to stand against the Respect for Marriage Act. No amendment is going to make this bill better. The entire bill is based on a lie – the false premise that two people of the same sex can actually marry one another. Marriage is meant to be a lifelong union between one man and one woman. Same-sex marriage is not marriage, and we will never, ever support any legislation seeking to codify this lie.

The most recent Republican Party Platform states:

Foremost among those institutions is the American family. It is the foundation of civil society, and the cornerstone of the family is natural marriage, the union of one man and one woman. Its daily lessons — cooperation, patience, mutual respect, responsibility, self-reliance — are fundamental to the order and progress of our Republic.

Same-sex marriage is not settled law. It will never be settled law. Same-sex marriage is deeply offensive to God and is absolutely contrary to the principles of ordered liberty upon which our country was founded. That’s why AFA is committed to defending one-man, one-woman marriage, no matter the odds.

God is bigger than the U.S. Senate. And God, just as He always does, in His own way and in His own timing, came through for us. So, let’s give Him all the glory and the praise, even as we keep fighting and watching.

We’re going to keep the pressure up, reminding Republicans of the party platform and of the truth about marriage. Stay tuned for our next action alert on this. We need Republican senators to go on record about where they stand on this bill.

And let us all continue to “approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Heb. 4:16). With your prayers and support, we are committed to winning this battle.

Sincerely,

Tim Wildmon, President
American Family Association

Gay CON-Servative (With Feelings for the "Younger Set") Shames Conservative Women as "Right-Wing Karens"

Creepy Gay CON-Servative Brad Polumbo

Brad Polumbo has made a name for himself as a right-wing gay man. He also writes for the Washington Examiner, which even Breitbart News has recognized as an establishment conservative newspaper.

He had the audacity to shame conservative women, working with MassResistance, for protesting Drag Queens grooming kids in a fake church in Katy, Texas:

There are some things that you all should know about Brad Polumbo, by the way.

He had a strange penchant for following middle schoolers on Instagram.

Let's just say that Brad has feelings for the "Younger Set," and just leave it at that.

Kind of puts the whole "Right-Wing Karens" smear in a new light, doesn't it?!
