WINNING! CAGOP Delegation Issues "No Endorsement" for Recall Candidate

 This is incredible!

The CAGOP Grassroots are fighting back and WINNING across the state of California.

For the last three months, I have been working with grassroots activists throughout the state of California to stop a Faulconer Jam-Down endorsement from the California Republican Party establishment.

The Consultant Class that runs the leadership in the CAGOP was committed at all costs to getting a Faulconer endorsement. Lots of rich donors were going to put big money behind the Democrat in RINO clothing Kevin Faulconer.

It would be yet another powerplay to sell what is left of the CAGOP down river and further turn the state of California into an unsalvageable third-world one-party dystopia.

Thankfully, I got busy with my delegates, as did others throughout the state and we pushed back. In every committee, in every meeting, we lambasted the leadership demanding that there be no move, no vote on any endorsement for any one candidate.

AND WE DID IT!

Here's Queen Jessica's press release on the Endorsement convention today:

Finally, the Rebel Alliance of grassroots conservatives fought back and won against the Empire! I can't wait to see what happens next!

VOTE YES on Recall -- September 14, 2021!

CAGOP Chairwoman Jessica Patterson: Foreit Your Salary

Dear CAGOP Chairwoman Patterson:

CAGOP Treasurer Greg Gandrud provided me the latest numbers on the current CAGOP finances.

$574,206.97 Fed

$991,520.33 Non Fed

$1,565,727.30 TOTAL

I understand according to other sources that this final tally does not indicate the money that came from the NRCC or from the CAGOP State Senate or State Assembly funds, so in all likelihood, the state party itself has raised a fraction of the total numbers that Mr. Gandrud provided for me.

Madam Chair, these numbers are embarrassing and very frustrating. I do not know how any political party plans on making a difference or a dent in this state with a cash flow that is so low, one can hardly pay attention--or pay one's staffers, consultants, etc.

Asm. Kevin Kiley has released his latest fundraising haul. He has broken fundraising records and has not relied on any third-house money, according to his latest announcement:
I further recall, Chairwoman Patterson, that you are currently drawing a salary of $200,000+. So, one can safely say that you are drawing 13% of the state party's current budget, and you are drawing those funds from the budget.

This is a monstrous misuse of funds, and made all the worse by the fact that there has been no leadership on your part to increase registration around the state or to provide support for local central committees. Your leadership was noticeably absent while grassroots volunteers around the state took initiative to initiate a recall against one of the most, if not the most corrupt governor in the United States. Only after the signatures were tallied and turned in did the CAGOP leadership parachute in with emails to support the recall and ask for money. This is so disappointing.

And of course, add to these injuries the fact that CAGOP leaders such as yourself were trying to force an endorsement vote for failed former San Diego Governor Kevin Faulconer, and I would have to say that my disappointment turns into outright disgust.

Chairwoman Patterson, I am calling on you now to forfeit your salary. You should not be drawing any salary, especially an amount which amounts to 14% of the state party's meager budget at this time. The delegates in the state California GOP deserve better leadership, and the few donors which remain deserve a better return on their money.

Sincerely,

Arthur Schaper

Delegate, California Republican Party

While the Corrupt CAGOP is Rigging an Endorsement – RINO Faulconer’s Corrupt Deal with Ash Street is Being Ripped Open

From the pen of Intrepid Blogger Aaron Park:

While the Corrupt CAGOP is Rigging an Endorsement – Faulconer’s Corrupt Deal with Ash Street is Being Ripped Open

I thought the Republican Party was the party of law and order? I guess the CAGOP is the party of consultants and paychecks. That is the only conclusion you could draw from the underhanded tactics that were exposed by your intrepid blogger and Stephen Frank. While the legislators closed ranks to re-elect the scandal-marred and corrupt puppet of the establishment Jessica Patterson, one of the expected payoffs of rigging the convention and the process was to be the Kevin Faulconer Payday. I can draw no other conclusion based on what I’ve seen and learned.

Corruption begat Corruption?

San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott filed suit Tuesday to void the city’s lease-to-own agreements for both the 101 Ash Street and Civic Center Plaza properties. The action came hours after the Union-Tribune reported that real estate broker Jason Hughes was paid almost $10 million by a middleman company while advising former Mayor Kevin Faulconer on the two transactions.

Jason Hughes was purported to be a volunteer by Kevin Faulconer. Whoops.

Since 2016, the city has paid tens of millions of dollars to lease and renovate the former Sempra Energy building on Ash Street, which has been vacant for all but a few weeks since the Fortune 500 company moved out in 2015.

The building is full of asbestos and has other issues preventing the city from using it.

(K.C. Alfred/The San Diego Union-Tribune)

The Union-Tribune reported late Monday that Hughes, who advised the city on the deal, was paid $4.4 million for securing the Ash Street deal in early 2017 and just over $5 million for his work on a similar deal for the city’s lease of the nearby Civic Center Plaza in 2015.

The nearly $10 million collected by Hughes came from Cisterra Development, a San Diego company that acted as a middleman in both the Civic Center Plaza and Ash Street leases.

What a visual. The Democrats are going to (literally) burn Kevin Faulconer down with this. Meantime, the CAGOP is on a suicide mission to anoint this guy.

The City Council agreed to the 20-year lease-to-own arrangement in 2016 on Faulconer’s recommendation. The former mayor said the deal would save the city more than $40 million in future office space expenses.

But after Elliott signed off on the lease, city officials learned that the property could not be safely occupied.

The lease was $535,000 a month for a building loaded with Asbestos. The main consultant on the project raked in $10 Million and then there is this:

The $535,000 monthly lease payments that were to be paid over 20 years translate to the city spending approximately $128 million for the Ash Street building. Combined with operational costs, maintenance and renovations, the city committed some $200 million for the 19-story high rise.

The building appraised for $67 million before the council approved the deal at Faulconer’s recommendation. The year before, former majority owner Shapery sold 49 percent of the property to financier Douglas Manchester.

It’s not yet clear how the city’s amended complaint might affect the spate of lawsuits already pending over the Ash Street transaction — or whether or how either Ash Street or the Civic Center Plaza deals may be unwound.

The city could always renegotiate the deal for the Civic Center Plaza, which has housed the City Attorney’s Office and other city departments for years.

But the Ash Street building needs wholesale repairs, remediation and upgrades estimated by one consultant to cost $115 million.

Either Kevin Faulconer is a blithering idiot (see also incompetent) or he is completely corrupt. You can’t explain this scandal any other way and now you have a key cog in the deal who was on the take (allegedly) who is now named in the lawsuit by the city.

Now let’s say for a second that Faulconer was an innocent victim (aka just incompetent vs corrupt). Take a look at this from another article about the City’s Lawsuit against the players in the project:

In 2016, the city agreed to borrow just under $92 million to acquire the Ash Street high rise. Faulconer recommended the deal to the City Council even though the building had been appraised for $67 million.

Wait — the savior of the California Republican Party got the City of San Diego to pay $92 Million for a building worth $67 Million??? (That’s before the asbestos and the busted fire suppression system were discovered)

So, when Faulconer was mayor, he led the effort to get the City to Overpay for an Asbestos-Riddled Building with a broken Fire Suppression System. Then we find out one of the main players in the deal raked in a cool $9.4 Million from a middleman while attempting to avoid disclosure?

The Ash Street property has been uninhabitable for all but a few weeks since Sempra moved out in 2015 due to asbestos contamination, a broken fire-suppression system and other issues. A consultant hired by the city issued a report last year estimating that repairs would cost approximately $115 million.

Gavin Newsom has the best that the democrat party has to offer  advising him and helping his campaign. I’d bet he is drooling over facing Kevin Faulconer…

… and Faulconer?

Pro-Choice
Anti-Family
Open Borders
Tax Raiser
Gun Grabber

Last I checked, we already had one of those in the Governor’s Office. #EPICFAIL

P.S. AS detailed on this blog, there are over 50 delegates to the CAGOP that we appointed in violation of the CAGOP’s By-Laws. If a candidate for the recall does not sue over this issue alone, they deserve to watch them rig the endorsement of Faulconer.

Another Reason to Remove Patterson: She Wants to Force a RINO Endorsement for Governor

Dear CAGOP Board:

Another reason for seeking the resignation of current chairwoman Patterson is that for the second time in as many months, she is seeking to push a rash, rapid endorsement for governor via a small committee of delegates instead of respect the will of the entire CAGOP state party delegation.

This is outrageous. This is monstrous. This is also illegal, a flagrant violation of state party by-laws. Of course, the state party leadership has been violating by-laws in considerable fashion, including the sudden appointment of 20+ delegates via Central Committee spots in the Los Angeles County GOP Central Committee.

SHAME on you, Jessica Patterson. SHAME!

There must be NO ENDORSEMENT for any candidate until every delegate in the California Republican Party state delegation has a chance to vote. And that includes ME.

I do not endorse Kevin Faulconer, and I never will. We need a real candidate who will pick the right fights but not kick the Republican Party base in the face. We need someone who respects what Trump accomplished and embrace his populist reforms, but establish his own name and play his own game; a canndidate who is not riding on easy consultant cash money, or the ready greed of a number of consultants who have become delegates to the state party.

Without any reservation, I am instructing the five delegates whom I appointed not to support Faulconer either, in part because of these endorsement shenanigans, in larger part because he is just another Democrat in RINO clothing.

I am so tired of this. I have been a Republican since I registered to vote at the tender age of 18. I refuse to stand by and let the state party be led into such a shameful shambles of irrelevance and ill-advised illegitimacy. John C. Fremont did not launch the Bear Flag Revolt to see such idiocy reign supreme.

ENOUGH!

No forced endorsements!

Patterson, Step Down!

Open Letter to CAGOP Leadership: Jessica Patterson Must Resign

To the leaders of the CAGOP:

I have no choice at this time but to call for the immediate resignation of current CAGOP Chairwoman Jessica Patterson.

I
n her latest offensive affront to the state party, here she is glamorizing a confused man who thinks he is a woman: Gina Roberts.

This is a disgusting disregard for the National as well as State Republican Party platforms. Furthermore, Mr. Roberts pressed herself into a local chapter of the California Republican Women Federated, becoming the first male president of a Republican club which is designed for WOMEN. This is a complete dishonor to women, as well as to men and the biological beauty of the differences between the two sexes. He also refuses to go on record whether she would oppose biological males such as herself competing against women in women's sports. Roberts has also declared that he is ready to use vexatious litigation to force any private firm to let him use the bathroom of his choice. This is not "Live and Let Live" Conservatism by any means.

You can see his statements in this blog post for more information:

The State of the Union: LGBT Madness in Escondido: Republican Women's Group Elects Man As Chapter President - Blogger

Yes, it's a man pretending to be a woman, or I suppose one can say that the politically correct title is "transgender woman." This is totally non-existent, of course, and the fact is that no man can become a woman, and no one can become a man, no matter how many surgeries, no matter how many laws are passed.

aschaper1.blogspot.com

Transgenderism is a mental illness, not a civil right. A political party that cannot tell the difference between male and female, and that cannot understand that a man cannot become a woman has no business seeking political power. This is a travesty, a joke, and is turning the Republican Party into a laughingstock.

I am astounded that our failed leadership in the state California Republican Party is so determined to pander to corrupted, broken identity politics, instead of investing in a serious grassroots movement to engage, enrage, and organized frustrated citizens to fight back and take back their local, county, and state governments in California. Hispanic voters are switching rapidly to the CAGOP, and they are substantially pro-life, pro-family, pro-America. They do not support this LGBT madness. Not one bit.

This past Tuesday, I was at the Downey, California city council meeting, where the vast majority of residents in the majority-Hispanic community spoke out against the city council's decision to fly the LGBT Pride flag over city hall. The current city council is 4-1 Democrat, and the only Republican on the council, Mayor Claudia Frometa, bravely voted AGAINST that perverse proposal.

The Republican Party needs to stand for cultural as well as fiscal conservatism. Chairwoman Patterson has clearly chosen to disdain the cultural bases of our party. She needs to step down. Patterson has repeatedly been criticized in local CAGOP party circles as well as conservative newsletters and blogs for doing nothing to build the state party. She is more beholden to a corporate, consultant culture class that wants to make money rather than shape the culture and win elections. It is of little consequence to me that she supposedly won re-election as chairwoman earlier this year, considering all of the voter problems and by-law violations which had occurred and have been widely documented.

Jessica Patterson, it is time for you to step down. I expect you to tender your resignation shortly.

Sincerely,

Arthur Schaper

CAGOP Chair Jessica Patterson: Corporate RINO Wrapped Up in Identity Politics

Robin Hvidston, the Director of We the People Rising, attended the San Bernardino County Republican Party Central Committee meeting a few days ago.

She recorded a brief video of Raul Rodriguez, the head of America First Latinos, who asked Chairwoman Patterson if she was a Republican or a RINO.

He took a few pictures with her, too. Her answer was quite soft-spoken, not with any gusto or strength attached to it.

Robin's full report is below:

NEW CHAIR OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY JESSICA PATTERSON
Report by Robin Hvidston

At the GOP Convention, delegates selected Jessica Patterson, a "millennial Latina" with a lengthy resume as a behind-the-scenes party operator, as their new chair, according to the Sacramento Bee.  At the convention she said,  “There are too few of us to continue to push people out of the party. We are not going to shout people out. We are going to be inclusive.”

Photo of Jessica Patterson - California Republican Party Chair

The chair of the California Republican Party Jessica Patterson spoke at the monthly meeting for the San Bernardino County Republican Party Central Committee.

She said at the beginning of her presentation that the CA GOP is "a big tent Republican Party." She said that the "California Republican Party is changing."

QUESTION ABOUT THE BORDER WALL
After her presentation, she took questions from the audience. Central Committee members asked questions first. After Central Committee members finished asking questions, I asked her since California is a border state, will the California Republican Party be supporting the building of the wall and the Republican President Donald Trump.

Displaying the RINO sign.

She said that President Trump has had much to deal with and overcome, such as when he offered the Democrats a chance for DACA legalization and they refused the deal. She said the CA GOP supports Trump and that the CA GOP has a platform for border security. She finished by saying that COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM is the answer.  She never answered whether or not she supports building the wall.  Comprehensive immigration reform would legalize illegal aliens who do not have a criminal background and is considered to be a massive amnesty program.

She said that the CA GOP will focus on registering new voters.

Ballot harvesting, she pointed out, is now legal in California and she claims ballot harvesting will be a part of the CA GOP plan in 2020 to win elections. Asking that Republicans hold "parties" and invite others to share how they will vote was included in the ballot harvesting issue. She said there will be paid or "bounty" actions in the GOP ballot harvesting

The Republicans, she said, need to "touch how people feel and touch their hearts." She plans, in part, on doing this by telling "her story."

She talked a lot about fundraising among major donors and small amount donors. She asked that everyone donate to the California Republican Party, even if it is only a small monthly donation. The CA GOP will work to make certain that every election has a Republican on the ballot because with the top 2 tier system in California there have been elections, such as the U.S. Senate seat, that do not have a Republican candidate on the ballot.

She said the CA GOP is focusing on electing a Republican governor.

After her presentation, she took questions from the audience for about a half an hour.

San Bernardino County Republican Party

CA GOP

And here are my responses to all of this.

I could have saved the team a trip. I know that she is a RINO. She is a corporate-backed shill who got a big boost from Kevin McCarthy's machine to be the Establishment front-runner. She helped the abortive Meg Whitman in her campaign for governor in 2010. In spite of the millions upon millions spent by the political class in this state during that year, Republicans lost bigly across the board.

Illegal immigration, public sector cronyism, the cycle of poverty and eternal Democratic hegemony, all of this is dragging down the state. There are more people in California who vote for a living rather than work for a living. The retirees from public jobs and contracts are drawing in so much money post-retirement, it's just a matter of time before the state goes bust.

Now let's talk more about Jessica "Millan" Patterson.

She coasts into the graces of the mainstream media because she is a

1. Millenial -- actually she isn't, since she and I are the same age. Both of us were born in 1980. We are actually Generation X'ers. She is way off. Already, she has been dishonest about her background.

2. Hispanic. She is married to an Anglo and has two kids, I guess.

3. She is female. Republicans are trying to play identity politics as the one way to get ahead in California, and it will never work. Democrats go after Republicans based on Demographics, but none of it really matters for the Democratic voters, many of whom vote Dem because they get something for the vote.

Robin also points out that Chairwoman Patterson did not talk about building the wall along the Southern Border. She simply refused to speak to that question. She is in full support of "comprehensive immigration reform", which is about as perverse and misleading as "Comprehensive sex-ed", a disgusting push to normalize sexual perversion in the state of California. "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" means amnesty, amnesty, amnesty.

This is not a winning formula.

The press has given Patterson a great deal of cover, claiming that she is not against President Trump. However, she has refused to announce ongoing support for the President.

Going back to the beginning of the report, anyone who starts with "We are a Big Tent Party" has announced why more people are leaving the party. There is no longer any commitment, any interest in winning based on principle. Half the article reports on her focus to raise money. All the money in the world is not going to turn the hearts and minds of men to vote differently. Core values are essential to win elections. The California Republican Party needed to focus on shaping the culture, working to undo the corrupting influence of the marginalized media.

How about working with local and country GOP groups to make a difference for the better?

Let's not forget that Czarina Jessica was more interested in colluding with the corrupt leadership in Los Angeles County. Members of the different assembly central committees are now barred from entering the central committee meetings on a regular basis. Andy Gharakani is not even a member of the Central Committee, yet he decides who enters and who does not.

This kind of corruption is happening all over the state of California. Some central committees don't have enough members to hold meetings, while other chairs control meetings through their ownership of certain buildings. Others have resorted to stealing keys and changing the locks on doors, too.

It's crazy! There is no enforcement of the rules.

Even worse, the consultant class which now runs the California Republican Party has no interest in winning or losing. They just want to make money. They look for big donors and rake in big money, then fritter some of the funding to the candidates. It's all about the money, that's it.

And the rest of the state loses out. More than a viable two-party structure, the common-sense governance sought by many is all but gone because of corporatism.

And Jessica Patterson is the perfect figurehead for all of it. The two-party system as it stands has collapsed in the state of California. I choose to remain a registered Republican because I align and endorse the national platform unreservedly. I just wish that Republican operatives in California did, too.

Make the CAGOP Great Again: Elect Steve Frank for Chairman

Dear CAGOP Delegates:

My name is Arthur Schaper. I am an activist, writer (you can find my articles on Townhall.com—Click here), blogger, and life-long California Republican. I also served as the President of the Beach Cities Republicans, one of the largest volunteer grassroots organizations in Los Angeles County.
I have witnessed first-hand how Republicans can win, and I have also seen why Republicans continue to lose—and what must be done to change this.

Despite some victories in 2013 and 2014, the California Republican Party’s decline has gone from bad to worse. The media and the GOP party establishment list the following excuses:

1.     Demographic changes have outpaced CAGOP outreach
2.     The current conservative platform is turning off voters
3.     Donald Trump is toxic.

These are all lame excuses, nothing more.

Here are the problems:

1. The CAGOP does not register new voters or win back voters who have left the party.
2. The CAGOP is dependent on third-house money and vendors (consultants) who do not share the interests of California voters.
3. Prop 14 has shut out Republicans across the state and even for statewide office, and Republican leadership has done nothing about it.
4. Ballot harvesting, voter fraud, and the automatic motor-voter laws are suppressing the voter franchise, and no one in party leadership has done anything to fight these problems.

The biggest problem plaguing the CAGOP? A tightly-knit group of well-connected consultants and establishment party bosses—The Select Few, I call them—are more interested in making money and having power over a vastly diminish Republican Party than making a difference for the entire state.
I resent this group imposing on us our next chairman. They tried that the first time following the appointment of one-term NeverTrumper former Assemblyman and failed gubernatorial candidate David Hadley as the next CAGOP Vice Chairman. When he dropped out, they selected Jessica Patterson.

Who is she? Mrs. Trailblazers is a big party donor puppet. Her Blazing Saddles Failure spent more time weeding out real Republicans and promoting third-house proxies, while the California GOP hemorrhaged more seats in Congress and in Sacramento.

Patterson, a career staffer with no leadership experience, is connected to the same consultant cabal which has overtaken and overturned Republican county central committees, including mine. The Republican Party of Los Angeles County, or RPLAC has been run into the ground by a branch of “The Select Few”. Rather than fundraise, they rely on a few big checks from liberal special interests sources. The consultants get rich, and the rest of us get wrecked.

And it gets worse. Rather than helping conservative grassroots organizations to prosper and win elections, RPLAC, under the bankrupted leadership of “The Select Few” revoked the charter of one of the longest lasting and largest conservative groups in the area, the Beach Cities Republicans, of which I was a member, then President for two terms. As President, I helped our club grow and increase its impact and influence in the South Bay section of Los Angeles County. Our efforts helped secure a Republican majority on the largest city in the district: my home town of Torrance, CA.

We never shied away from fighting for GOP values: pro-life, pro-family, and pro-country. We enthusiastically supported President Trump, and we worked with different demographics to join the GOP. Latinos for Trump was our featured guest one month before Election Day 2016. We even recruited members from sections of Los Angeles County which don’t even HAVE Central Committees.

Instead of supporting our club and our efforts, “The Select Few” in RPLAC lied about us, citing non-existent violations of county by-laws (which they don’t even follow). It was a disgusting power-play, all orchestrated by Andy Gharakani. Ultimately, the RPLAC Executive Board revoked our club’s charter and sought to ostracize us in the greater Los Angeles County area.

This template for failure, collusion, and corruption will go statewide if Jessica Patterson becomes the next chairman. “The Select Few” which is propping up her bid for chairman will getting the big money, while our state goes to ruin. Sorry, but I am not interested in electing another wake of vultures getting fat off the dying body of the CAGOP.

Patterson is a NO!

And so is Travis Allen.

The CAGOP Chairmanship is not a consolation prize. I am not looking for a cheerleader, but a leader whom I can cheer. This is not a celebrity gig to prep for another statewide race. A Party Chairman is supposed to be the lead team player, not the center of attention. He helps other people become the centers of attention in their bids for office.

“But Travis can raise money! Look at all the flyers he has been sending out to the delegates!”
The previous CAGOP leadership raised $34 million, and we still lost seats. Hillary Clinton outraised Donald Trump nearly two to one, but we all know how that ended. Politics is not just about money, but how the money is spent, and who benefits.

“But Travis Allen has the Take Back California PAC! He Has $3 Million in the bank!”

Well, we don’t know how much he has because he has not filed the mandatory reports with the FPPC yet. Also, Travis Allen had pledged to donors that he would use that money to help elect OTHER REPUBLICANS to legislative office. As of now, that money is helping one Republican, Travis Allen, to get elected CAGOP State Party Chairman.

A political party needs a team player for chairman, not a self-promoter; a sage, not a celebrity; a little guy to help other little guys become big guys, not a big shot taking shots for himself.

We need a chairman who knows and helps the grassroots grows, who knows the Central Committees, who reaches large audiences. We need someone who knows the by-laws and expects everyone to abide by them. In short, we need someone who will make the CAGOP and California Great Again.

Inline image
That man is Steve Frank.

Here’s why you need to support Steve Frank as the next CAGOP Chairman:

1. He has helped other candidates get elected. He helps them speak, campaign, and fundraise.
2. He has outlined an extensive yet simple plan for remaking and restoring the CAGOP, and he is already implementing it.
3. He knows the local as well as state politics in each region. He knows how to get out the vote, and he can make the case to the voters in different areas.
4. He is not only well-informed on statewide affairs, but daily informs others through his newsletter California Political News and Views, published by California Political Review.
5. He knows the inside baseball of party politics, including convention rules. He is well-aware of the games which have been played against us and for the benefit of “The Select Few”. He also knows how to stop these games and help all of us win again.
6. When the state party leaders ignored the plight of the Beach Cities Republicans, Steve reported and exposed the crap and corruption going on in the Central Committees, especially RPLAC.

In short:

Steve is a workhorse, not just a show-horse.
Steve is a team player, not a “me player”.
Steve is experienced, not just a showman.
Steve has been fighting the good fight, win or lose, not just someone who showed up on the scene.

I support Steve Frank for CAGOP Chairman, and I urge you to support him, too.
