Further Reflection on Torrance's "Pride Month" Resolution Controversy

The news has been spreading throughout the city that Councilwoman Sharon Kalani's perverse attempt to push "Pride Month" in the city of Torrance failed this year.

The usual left-wing and progressive agitators are complaining online, but other Torrance community groups on Facebook are generally pleased.

I didn't have the chance over the last year to sound off another deep concern regarding the whole "Pride Month" push.

Last year, when the city council narrowly adopted the troublesome, unwanted resolution, Jean Adelsman targeted Councilman Mattucci (once again) over his outspoken outrage about the resolution.

Here are his full remarks from the May 7, 2024, Torrance City Council meeting on the "pride" resolution:

Here are Adelsman's first statements on Mattucci's "rant":

·       Mattucci and Sheikh were the evening’s disappointments. Several people called Mattucci’s comments a disgrace – Susan Niemeyer referred to it as a rant in her FaceBook post on the meeting.

Who is Susan Niemeyer?

When Chen called on Kalani immediately after Mattucci unleashed his wrath, she was clearly shaken and said, “What can you say after that?”

More people should be as upset as Mattucci was. More on that later. If Councilwoman was Kalani was "clearly shaken" by some strong statements from one of her colleagues, then she is not mayor material.

In the next newsletter, she obsessed over Mattucci's comments further:

A number of readers expressed concern over the subject of Mattucci’s recent rant. If you missed that newsletter, go to www.TakeBackTorrance.com and look at Newsletter No. 50.

He was focused on a survey that he said had asked his 10-year-old son questions of a sexual nature. I didn’t originally raise it because, as District 4’s Sharon Kalani pointed out, Torrance Unified School District has jurisdiction here and the City Council has no role. In other words, Mattucci’s comments were inappropriate.

Every adult should be outraged--not just concerned--about school districts giving students sexually explicit or charged surveys. EVERYONE!

As it turns out, he also misspoke. After being prodded by readers, I researched the issue, and thanks to my TUSD source who steered me to the information I was looking for.

Mattucci was referring to the California Healthy Kids Survey, which is a project of the California Department of Education. The survey’s goal: “Helping schools and communities build positive environments for student success.”

How does asking children if they are non-binary or gay contribute to a positive school environment? Why are adults so determined to push these awful themes on children? Why is pushing destructive behaviors on children "Acceptable"?

Its website adds, “At the heart of the CHKS is a research-based core module that provides valid indicators to promote student engagement and achievement, safety, positive development, health, and overall well-being.” The site also said it is “the largest statewide student survey of resiliency, protective factors, risk behaviors, and school climate in the nation.”

Notice how she did not list the specific, invasive questions that the survey poses to California students. I wonder why she left that out?

Most of California’s school districts participate, and the information is also used by a variety of non-academic agencies. For example, the Volunteer Center, whose board I serve on, uses information from it to improve its youth programs, in particular the Impact Makers (more on that later). As does the Beach Cities Health District’s Allcove program for teens.

Mattucci repeatedly said his 10-year-old son received the questionnaire. The problem: TUSD administers the survey to sixth-graders, which rarely includes a 10-year-old. So, his son was not 10 when he took the survey.

If you would like to learn more about the survey, go to https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/he/at/cefchks.asp.

Notice how Jean Adelsman, and LGBT propagandists in general, do not care about the well-being of children. Notice how they don't take notice, or even break a sweat, over the contents of these abusive materials being pushed on children.

The only thing that Jean cared about was that Aurelio supposedly got his dates mixed up when he mentioned the survey. Earlier this month, he corrected the record yet again and said that indeed, his son did receive the survey according to the times he had mentioned last year. He made no mistake.

Why are liberals so deteremined to push LGBT on kids?

Why are progressives so adamant about celebrating sexual degeneracy as a civil right?

Why do some of these Torrance residents think that the "Balanced City" should start picking identity groups to promote against everyoe else? Why do they want to turn Torrance into West Hollywood of San Francisco?

Breaking News: FPPC Investigation of Aurelio Mattucci Recall Underway

Torrance resident Patsy Okada has filed a complaint with the FPPC in connection with Jean Adelsman's recall effort against Torrance City Councilman and City Treasurer candidate Aurelio Mattucci.

This is a significant development, since the FPPC receives between 1,000 and 2,000 complaints each year. Patsy's complaint was accepted!

I received the following text message from Patsy, which she had received from Bob Habel, one of the Torrance Parks and Recreation Commissioners, who organized the failed recall effort against Torrance City Councilman Jon Kaji:

Here's the full message, if you cannot read the text in the picture:

Thanks [sic] you. The names will not appear in the Breeze because we are just going to scare him into that we are going to recall him. After we gather the necessary signatures, we turn them into the city clerk, she verifies that they are valid. Then we can pay someone to serve him that he is being recalled. That is where it ends. Names and addresses will not appear in the paper. It's not going to go that far. Once he is served, he will know that District 1 people are not happy with him. There is no lawyer with the Kaji recall. I don't know who Jean is using for the Mattucci recall.

So, the Kaji recall effort was a hoax.

What about the Mattucci recall?

Patsy shared the following with me:

My complaint was 99% from Jean Adelsman’s newsletters. But in the newsletters Jean asked for donations for the recall. FPPC jurisdiction is money involved in an election/recall.

In case anyone has forgotten, Jean Adelsman was one of the key organizers of the Mattucci recall. She asked for donations!

She was the biggest cheerleader, outlining all the reasons why Mattucci "needed" to be recalled.

She did have a considerable role in the recall effort:

A few personal points: I am No. 39 out of the 60. If the recall succeeds, I will not seek the seat. I ran in 2022 because, at that moment, no one else was prepared to oppose Mattucci. Some excellent candidates have already indicated that they would be available to fill the seat in 2024. I am neither chair nor treasurer. I am serving as the committee’s communications director.

She frequently promoted the donation links for the recall effort, too.

Newsletter 46

Newsletter 47

Newsletter 49

Was the Mattucci effort just another bluff? If so, why raise money for it? If the circulators had no intention of actually collecting enough signatures to put a recall measure on the ballot, why fundraise?

Pasty shared with me:

I got the financial disclosure for this recall and I used it as an exhibit.  The treasurer of the recall is Evelyn Smith, and Marilyn Bailey is the state measure proponent. Also, Jean was interviewed by the Daily Breeze when the recall ended . The reporter asked her how many signatures were collected, and she wouldn’t answer. I gave that as an exhibit.

I contacted the City Clerk for more information regarding who initiated the recall, and here's what she shared with me:

The legal publication lists Mary A. Bailey, Mathilde F. Terre, and Marla Shwarts.

YIKES!

Trouble in (Liberal) Torrance Paradise: Adelsman Turning on Asam Sheikh?

Is Take Back Torrance plotting to oust Councilman Sheikh?

Jean Adelsman is big mad because Torrance City Councilman Asam Sheikh put kids first and voted against the "pride" resolution earlier this year.

It sounds like she and other unrepentant liberals in town have their knives out for Asam in 2026!

She writes in her latest "Take Back Torrance" post:

Four offices will be on the ballot [in 2026]: Chen and Kaji have filed for re-election in 2026 and have identified candidates to run for District 5’s open seat (Mattucci will term out) and for District 3’s Asam Sheikh’s seat. That will be a repeat of 2024 when Chen and Kaji attempted to oust Lewis and also gain the open seat.

Lewis had been appointed and so had less than two years under her belt when she ran, but she was rewarded with re-election.

Sheikh may have a tougher time against a Chen-Kaji-backed opponent. He disappointed many – gay and straight – by his aligning with Chen on opposing Pride Month.

He disappointed many -- gay and straighht -- by his aligning with Chen on opposing Pride Month.

First of all, Councilwoman Kalani and the other three members who voted for the pride resolution should have aligned with Torrance voters, especially those in the audience, and rejected it.

Second, Councilman Sheikh clearly feared the outrage of his Muslim peers, many of whom attended the city council meeting to oppose the resolution. I am so grateful for their attendance.

Third, Sheikh sounds like his own man, even if he voted with Mayor Chen. He is not merely aligning himself with the mayor, although we know that Adelsman has as much of a targeted rancor against the mayor as anyone who opposes "Pride Month." The fixation on Mayor Chen is also disturbing, and her need to tie every "bad" vote to the mayor is unfair. Does she really think that Sheikh is a puppet of Chen?

Of course, the larger obsession that Torrance liberals have with pushing sexual perversion is disturbing. Why is there this obsession with normalizing a destructive behavior and false identities? And aren't there more pressing issues for the city to face, like ensuring that the budget and withstand the next economic downturn, or improving public safety?

Since when did "woke" ever benefit a city? Toyota, which was headquartered in Torrance, just backed out of all the Pride-Woke-DEI nonsense this week, and pledged to stay out of Pride parades. One would think that local governments would start getting the message, too.

I do think it's interesting that liberal outrage is lingering against Councilman Sheikh for doing the right thing (even if he had to be pressured to do it) in voting against the pride resolution. It will be interesting what happens in 2026, when Sheikh asks the voters for another term. Will he?

SAY HIS NAME! Aurelio Mattucci Beats Recall Effort (Where's the Money, Signatures, Jean?!)

The Daily BreezeThe Daily Breeze reported the news last week, but I was getting the updates from key contacts within the city, connected to city hall.

Of course, right after he got the news (May 31, 2024), Mattucci shared the news on his Facebook page:

Jean Adelsman has failed. She was not able to get the requisite number of signatures to recall Councilman Aurelio Mattucci.

She wanted to throw out an entire election because she lost. It's just that simple. She is a sore loser, and she wanted to pass on her bitterness to the city with another costly election.

What's really galling about this whole affair is that Adelsman opposed the recall of derelict LA County District Attorney George Gascon! He should be recalled, since he is deliberately, openly violating his oath of office, breaking the law, and not doing his job.

Councilman Mattucci HAS been doing his job. Is he rough around the edges for some people? Sure. Does he ruffle feathers here and there. Yes, and that is a good thing.

There is too much in Torrance politics that aims for moderation and quiescence. It's time for elected leaders to ask questions and push against the civil service status quo.

That "status quo" approach allowed young hoodlums to terrorize the Del Amo Mall for the last two years. No, a fresh approach to leaner, more effective government in order. Let's not fool ourselves, either on this point: the city of Torrance is not ready for the next economic downturn. The city of Torrance is still top heavy with administrative civil service bloat, and spends too much money.

All of this needs to be fixed, and it is not happening fast enough.

Jean Adelsman clearly had a problem with all of these reforms, or she just couldn't stand the fact that after working as a major opinion maker (supposedly) with the Daily Breeze all these years, she didn't have the pull or the political clout to get elected! After all, she was backed by every establishment interest in the city, Republican and Democrat, people who have gone with the "go with the flow" failed mentality for so long.

Yes, she lost by sixteen votes, a very close race, to be sure, but she lost. And there is no evidence of voter fraud, ballot stuffing, voter suppression, etc. In fact, Adelsman didn't even challenge the results! She was willing to let the whole thing go. Following her loss, she even reached out to Mattucci, asking him to join her for a cup of coffee so that they could discuss city issues going forward. What a betrayal that followed!

Now, the next questions come up, and I would ask Jean Adelsman these questions directly:

1. How much money did you raise for this recall effort? We know that you raised money, so what happened to the money? We want to see the financial records!

2. How many signatures did you actually collect, Jean? In Downey, CA, voters went to great pains, including two recall efforts, to get rid of pro-LGBT felon Catherine Alvarez, and they were not afraid to reveal that they were 34 signatures short on the first round. If you were so close, Jean, TELL US! How many recall signatures did you actually collect?!

Take Back Torrance from "Take Back Torrance"

Sore loser Jean Adelsman started a newsletter/blog called "Take Back Torrance" to air her ongoing grievances with the current city council, chiefly the new slate of councilmembers who pushed away from the status quo and want to make the city more efficient and responsive to the residents: Jon Kaji, Aurelio Mattucci, and Mayor George Chen.

Adelsman has a history of exaggerating statements people make, dropping lies about people, and even misleading voters when she launched the recall against Aurelio Mattucci.

For all of her focus and keeping Torrance "Free from Extremism and Hate," she is sure determined to add more of it.

It's really disturbing how obsessed she is with the whole "PRIDE" resolution which Mayor Chen decided not to do in June 2023. I say "Good for Mayor Chen!" Why is any city celebrating people's private sexual preferences? Why do we need to know any of this? In fact, the whole LGBT movement has been a cult based on lies for the longest time, and it's harmful effects can no longer be ignored: from the bedroom to the boardroom to the classroom.

The fact is that the whole LGBT cause is bound up with extremism and hate. Why do children need to learn about gay anal sex in school? Why does the general public need to see the gawdy, bawdy, disgusting displays of sexual deviance and destruction in so-called PRIDE parades? None of this has any value or important for Torrance, or for families throughout Los Angeles County.

Jean is obsessed with PRIDE. What she needs is humility. She lost her race fair and square in 2022. The more that she rants about Aurelio, the more she convinces the voters that they did the right thing in rejecting her.

She even recently claimed that Mayor George Chen lost his temper at campaign rally last month and -- oh my goodness, clutch your pearls! -- used the F-word!

I was at that event. He did not use the F-word. He shared that he was really pissed off about the identity politics polluting the city. He even contended that he wanted to avoid giving out endorsements because he wanted to work with every city councilmember as peaceably as possible. But the LA County Democratic Party's racial pandering was too much to ignore.

If there's extremism, just look at Jean Adelsman and her ongoing machinations with machine politician Pat Furey, and their dirty attacks against candidates.

And speaking of extremism and hate ...

Look at the graffiti targeting and defacing Torrance City Council candidate Tony Yeh's signs!

Tony Yeh is running against former appointed city councilman Jack Walser (who doesn't answer questions), and Jeremy Gerson, who was endorsed on the same slate with corrupt, pro-criminal District Attorney George Gascon.

Tony Yeh's signs are getting vandalized all over the city. Who is responsible for this? I have never seen politics get this dirty here in the South Bay. This is really sad.

There is deep bitterness in the city of Torrance with a growing number of independent candidates running to turn things around in the city. No doubt this graffiti/vandalism is from Jean Adelsman and her crew of hateful extremists.

We need to take back Torrance from "Take Back Torrance"!

Where Are You, Dishonest Jean?

"Recall Mattucci ... PLEASE!
Is anyone out there?"

The Recall against Aurelio Mattucci started January 17th, 2024.

That's what Jean told us.

And ... what?

Did she lie again, as he has a habit of lying about other things?

There have been no canvassers so far in District Five.

There have been no door-knockers asking residents to sign the recall effort.

A number of Torrance residents have shared with me that they have not seen anyone standing in front of the local grocery stores to sign up people to recall Mattucci, either.

Where are you, Jean?

Did you realize that this was a bad idea the moment that you launched this failed effort?

Did you get cold feet once the public, including yours truly, exposed you for lying to District Five residents?

Did residents get cold feet about getting signatures for a a very controversial recall when people realized that you had nothing true to say about the current city council?

Was it the fact that people don't like brazen hypocrisy, since you sent your entire campaign during Election 2022 against recalling George Gascon, then turned around and announced your support for recalling Aurelio Mattucci?

Seriously, Jean?

Aren't you embarrassed at this point?

You have lied enough, and people have had enough of your lies.

You lost, lose gracefully, and just move on.

SAY THEIR NAMES: Torrance Residents who Signed Aurelio Mattucci Recall

So, former reporter/editor/loser candidate Jean Adelsman cannot accept that she lost an election fair and square.

She campaigned against the Recall of LA County DA George Gascon. When she lost her bid for city council in 2022, she pledged not to initiate a recall against Aurelio Mattucci.

Yet here we are today, and Jean is trying to collect signature to put a recall measure on the ballot for District Five voters.

Why does she want to get rid of Aurelio?

Well, we all know it's spite, pure and simple. She is making excuses about the LA Metro and statements from the city councilman to justify removing him from office.

What is really alarming is that there are 60+ people in the district who want him gone. (Or do they? More to follow. Some reports claim that some of the residents below really had no idea what they were signing. Other reports suggest that Jean lied to these voters, claiming that Aurelio wanted to defund the police)

So, who signed off on the initial intent to recall? Jean needed to get 60 signatures, or 60 electors (voters) in Torrance City Council District Five.

She obtained 68 signatures, presumably anyone who initiates a recall has to collect more than the minimum, just in case some of the signatures don't match the names, the addresses, etc.

Here are the pages. For your convenience, I have re-typed the names beneath each page, and for the privacy of each voter, I have blocked out their home addresses.

If I could not read the names, how could the city clerk?

The partisan breakdown of the names who signed the initial intent to recall is:

1 Green Party Member

2 No Party Preference

7 Republicans

Why 7 Republicans would sign this recall intent is a mystery, since Aurelio is also a registered Republican.

Dishonest Jean Adelsman Lies Again: Intent to Recall is PUBLIC Info

In Dishonest Jean Adelsma's latest post "Take Back Torrance," (which should be called "Make Torrance Great for Jean"), she asserts that residents can sign recall papers to have Councilman Mattucci put up for a recall vote and ultimately removed from office.

AND she asserts that their signatures will be private.

That is yet another lie from Dishonest Jean Adelsman.

Yes, it is public information.

Yes, your name, address, and signature will be made public.

Yes, all that information is available via public records request.

I filed a Public Records Request with the city, and the clerk provided me all 68 signatures of the people who wanted to initiate a recall vote against Councilman Mattucci.

HERE'S THE FIRST PAGE ...

I have blocked out the addresses of the electors who signed the recall papers, but here are their names and their signatures.

The three people who signed the first page of the intent to recall posted above are:

Mary Bailey

Mathilde Terre

Marla Shwarts

Yes, it is public information, and once again, Dishonest Jean gets exposed for the liar that she is.

UPDATE:

Just in case Jean Adelsman tries to cover her tracks and claim that she NEVER said that anyone, I am posting her entire newsletter from January 17, 2024:

Loser Jean Adelsman: Lying Hypocrite, Sore Loser (Trump Wannabe?)

Jean Adelsman ran against incumbent Torrance city councilman Aurelio Mattucci in 2022. She was the liberal candidate who pretended to be "bipartisan." She called herself "purple" on her website.

Of course, she lost. She's not on the city council dias today (thank goodness!)

She attempted to play nice shortly after the election, even reaching out to Aurelio briefly to have coffee with him.

That obviously went nowhere.

But she doesn't want to go away ...

Here we are now. Jean wants to recall Aurelio ... and Jon Kaji, too?

Why, now?

She and other wagging tongues in town say that it's due to Kaji and Mattuci's opposition to extending the LA Metro into Torrance. But let's get serious about this: they don't like the fact that a more conservative, a more principled set of politicos is now serving the city on the city council.

That bothers them.

They don't like the fact that the current mayor didn't kiss all the brass rings, from commissions to public sector unions, to become the next mayor of the city. He didn't go through the usual "Torrance Way" to become the next head of state for the city.

The same thing applies to Kaji, of course. He didn't kiss rings and glad-hand the "Good Ol' Boys" in Torrance in order to get elected. That bothers some people in The Balanced City.

It seems to bother Jean, as well.

But what about Aurelio? Why don't they like him? He did sit on commissions, and he participated in a number of city events. He even took pictures with local Congressmen Henry Waxman and Maxine Waters at one time.

They don't like that he speaks his mind, and that he wants--and gets--results. He has certainly disrupted business as usual, and he does not "play nice" with some people.

All of these reasons are not reasons at all. They are embittered excuses from sore losers who don't like the fact that creeping liberalism, and big-spending wastrelism are no longer the order of the day. One can be sure that the local Democratic Party is all over this, too. Jimmy Gow got stomped on--TWICE--after spending time and money and collecting every endorsement from every who's-who in the LA County Democrat zoo.

He even posted non-stop about me on the Torrance Democratic Club Facebook page last year!

(This photo is one of my favorites!:)

Now, what is it about Jean Adelsman that makes her a lying hypocrite?

One of the voters in District Five made it plain as day:

Jean didn't support the recall of pro-criminal district attorney George Gascon becqause "she didn't believe in recalls." Now she suddenly believes in recalls? Really?

And she says that part of the reason for the recall is that Aurelio and others are opposing the extension of the LA Metro into Torrance. For the record, I confess that I supported this move, and did nothing it would be a big deal to have an extension of the metro rail from Redondo Beach to Torrance. But five years later, and with the rising crime, and the worsening conditions on the LA Metro, the fact that the Board of Supervisors have removed heavy police presence to protect riders on the Metro, and the fact that fewer people are using public transit, I am now inclined to oppose it.

So, Jean wants the LA Metro, she seems so upset about the current council opposing its extension.

And yet ...

Pamela Combar calls out Jean Adelsman for not even showing up to ANY OF THE MEETINGS on the proposed extension!

In short, Jean is making up excuses. She is a lying hypocrite and a sore (liberal) loser who can't stand the fact that she got beat by a stronger candidate who, despite almost every political force against him, prevailed in his re-election bid.

You know, for a lady who hates Trump so much, she is sure starting to sound a like like him,

She lost by a very slim margin in 2022, just as Trump did because of slim margins in key states in 2020.

She is belly-aching about losing, the same way she bellyaches about Trump, who contested his loss in 2020.

She is trying to overturn a legitimate election, and yet she criticizes Trump for doing the same thing regarding Election 2020 (for the record, it do believe that the election was stolen, but a big part of it was his own fault. See here).

She is all in on big government transportation projects, just like Trump.

She is talking about "Take Back Torrance," kind of like how Trump campaigned on "Make America Great Again." But she wants to take us backwards! Does she want Don Wilson to redline housing, too?

She is connecting with the previous Democratic establishment, the same way that Democrats have tried to attach themselves to Trump, who was connected with Democrat politicians for years. She wants to reach out to both sides, all while upsetting the Republican base. Trump wanted to make deals with both sides, he has upset his Republican base, too.

But the big thing is that she is staging an "insurrection" against city hall and trying to remove two duly, lawfully elected people from Torrance city council. It sure sounds like Trump when he shouted "Fight Like Hell!" on January 6th, 2021, but a handul of Antifa miscreants broke windows and assaulted police officers.

Still, the fact that she can't give up complaining aout losing ... yet at the same time she thinks Donald Trump lost and shouldn't complain at all. Wow, how the tables have turned in Torrance!

Torrance City Council Elections 2022: The Lies of Dishonest Jean Adelsman

Here is one more post that I wanted to share. Many people in the city pressed me to show proof that Jean Adelsman, Councilman Aurelio Mattucci's opponent, had lied about him and his term in office.

Well, here you go:

Here's the deal:

Aurelio took donations from a number of business owners and other economic interests in the city.

Why?

Because Aurelio is a fiscal conservative who opposes excessive spending and tax hikes. Every business wants that.

And then there's this post:

No, Aurelio did not vote to defund the police. He did not vote to cut funding from the police department. In fact, he followed the recommendations from the chief of police not to fill a select number of positions in order to save the city money and get the general funds back to a healthy reserve again.

So, those are two clear examples of Dishonest Jean's last-minute attacks to take down Councilman Mattucci, and they both failed.

"Republican" New Majority Betrays Conservatives AGAIN, Endorsed Democrat Against Torrance City Councilman Mattucci

More like "New Permanent Minority"

The so-called "New Majority" is a group of centrist to liberal Republicans trying to improve matters for the center-right in the state of California. The truth is that they are an organization which focused on fiscal issues, and one of their spokesmen claimed that they have no interest in social or cultural issues.

Here's their stance on their website:

New Majority promotes a fiscally responsible philosophy in government and an inclusive mainstream approach towards politics.

Through education and contributions, it seeks to inform its membership and contribute resources to Republican and other philosophically aligned candidates and issues that share its mission.

"Inclusive mainstream" is double-speak for culturally liberal, progressive, or neo-Marxist.

The truth is that they are actually quite liberal on those issues, and they only support Republicans for office in the state of California if they are pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control, etc. One candidate in Torrance was running for a seat on the local college board. He was passed over by the New Majority, and they endorsed the Democrat.

The thing is, though, that on their own website they advertise their push for a "fiscally responsible philosophy in government." How can they support any Democratic candidate in California, then, since the state party platform endorses every big government, quasi-socialist push imaginable?

The Republican Party, in California and across the country, currently exists to serve as the outlet for voters who want a restraint on the state and a restoration of traditional norms and values. The election of Donald Trump via a massive wave of support from Republican voters across the country, including California, confirms this fact.

But the New Majority is not

Sometimes, they do good things. They endorsed David Hadley in his bid for state assembly in 2014 and 2016. He would not have won the 2014 election without their help. It was good to have Hadley in office instead of left-wing, pro-sex offender Al Muratsuchi.

However, the "New Majority" has evinced a growing weakness for embracing the left entirely, even supporting left-wing candidates and other Democratic contenders when there is a Republican running for the same office.

The "New Majority" was supposed to be focused on winning elections for Republicans, right? Then why do they donate time and money to Democrats?

Why did they support a brazen, dishonest liberal like Jean Adelsman instead of Councilman Aurelio Mattucci?

Don't believe me?

Check out this donation to Dishonest Jean's campaign during her failed race for Torrance City Council:

Check the bottom entry, and you will find Gerald Marcil of Rancho Palos Verdes donated $500 to Dishonest Democrat Jean Adelsman.

Gerald, or rather Jerry Marcil, is a member of the New Majority. Click here for more info.

Why is a member of the New Majority committed to taking out a committed, effective conservative in the city of Torrance? How does this advance any good causes for the well-being of the city of Torrance, the state of California, or for the Republican Party?

Why did the New Majority stick their noses into a city council race and try to push out a well-known, effective, and established conservative who has helped other Republicans get elected?

Election 2022: Hypocrisy, Your Name is Pat Furey

Soon to be gone Torrance Mayor Pat Furey is calling Councilman Aurelio Mattucci a hypocrite.

Really.

Check out the post he shared on his Facebook page:

The truth is that Aurelio Mattucci has received a number of donations from small business owners and developers because he wants to make the city of Torrance business friendly. I am surprised that some elected officials find that offensive.

Many people like the fact that Aurelio says what he means, and he does what he says he is going to do.

What is really galling about the attack post above is that the featured development is in LOMITA. It's not in Torrance, and Councilman Mattucci has opposed large developments like the one featured above. In fact, the city of Torrance weighed on this projected development and wanted to stop it, but it was ultimately the city of Lomita's decision.

But let's talk about creepy hypocrite Pat Furey.

Pat Furey accuses Councilman Mattucci of "say one thing, do another"? Really?

He also likes to use the word "rant" when describing comments that Mattucci has made in city council or during debates. The truth is that when Pat Furey hears people speaking the truth, he dismisses those comments as "rants." Furey is the same corrupt fraud who routinely shuts people down in city council meetings, only because he cannot handle watchdogs exposing the truth about the city's finances under his watch.

This same Pat Furey colluded in 2014 with a PAC sponsored by McCormick Ambulance, only then to vote to terminate the city's contract with the Torrance-based ambulance company Gerber in favor of McCormick. And Creepy Pat has the audacity to accuse others of "say one thing, do another"?

This is the same Creepy Pat who ushered in a bunch of ordinances on urban farming, only to refuse to enforce them?

This is the same Creepy Pat who violated campaign finance laws, and whose son violated campaign laws, too?

Hypocrisy, your name is Pat Furey.

Dishonest Jean Adelsman Preaches Unity, But Posts Partisan Rancor

I am really tired of Torrance politicians who preach "let's put aside partisanship" and "Let's be united," when at the same time they have not just a disagreement, but an intense dislike for anyone who does not vote for the same presidential or state candidates as they do.
Check out what Jean Adelsman, who is running for Torrance City Council, and what she really thinks about voters who voted for Donald Trump, for example.
It's not just her partisanship that is a problem, but it's the rank dishonesty that really rankles me. She is a definite NO for serving on the Torrance City Council.

At first, there doesn't seem to be a problem. For her campaign, she is making a bold case for getting past partisanship and urging people to focus on local issues that everyone can agree on.

But is that really true?

Check out her website:

Here's her claim about unity and supposedly wanting to end partisan gridlock:

What is the power of purple?

Partisan divisions are tearing our nation apart.  Even at the local level, the battle between team red and team blue rages on.  The consequences are political gridlock and people not being served by their government.

It’s time to stop focusing on what we disagree on and start working on the things we have in common.  We all want safe and clean communities, great schools, a healthy and vibrant economy and a local government that is responsive to its residents.  We want to make Torrance an even better place to live, work and play.

When red and blue come together you get purple, and you get the power to succeed on the things that matter most.  This is how I plan to work on the Torrance City Council, bringing people together to get good things done.

She says now that she is all about bringing people together.

But what did she think of President Trump when he was running for office?

Here are some posts from her Facebook feed (all of which have been recently taken down, for some reason ...)

Check out this post:

She posted this during the height of the 2016 election.

"Please unfriend me" Jean declared bluntly to the public, if anyone in the public voted for Donald Trump.

This goes beyond whether she likes or dislikes Trump. That's one thing.

But for her to say "Go away" to anyone who voted for Trump (or any other Presidential candidate that she may not have supported, for that matter) ... that goes against everything that she claims to stand for today.

For the record, I have friends who voted for Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Jill Stein, other candidates who were running for President in 2016 and 2020. I have friends to this day who had voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.

I would never cast off a friendship simply because someone voted for a Presidential candidate that I did not support.

But Jean Adelsman, who claims to be all about unity, wants to brush off, cast out anyone who voted for Donald Trump--and then she took the posts down from her Facebook page. The fact that she would hide such brazen partisanship is deeply offensive, insulting even.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Jean Adelsman.

What's really disturbing is that she shared a post that comes from "Occupy Democrats," which is one of the most partisan, progressive (unlike Torrance) organizations in the country.

According to Wikipedia:

Occupy Democrats is a United States-based, left-wing media outlet built around a Facebook Group and corresponding website. Established in 2012, it publishes false information, hyperpartisan content, and clickbait.

Bear in mind that many people consider Wikipedia to have taken on a partisan bias. Yet even with that taken into account, the fact that even writers and contributors to Wikipedia find "Occupy Democrats" to be hyperpartisan should cause all of us some concern.

And encourage us to confront Jean Adelsman on her dishonesty.

Here's another post, that should tell you all about Jean's true sentiments:

"Say No to Trump," she shares. Does that also mean "No" to people who voted for Trump, as well?

She apparently didn't pay attention to what happened in Virginia earlier this year, in which three Republican statewide candidates won over Democratic as well as Republican voters to get elected, even though the state had been trending Democratic for the last ten years.

What happened? Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin and his team reached out to voters based on the issues that they cared about. They did not disparage voters if they supported Joe Biden or President Trump in the 2020 General Election.

And yet, here we are with Jean Adelsman, who wants to serve on the Torrance City Council, pushing this pretentious plea for unity and bipartisanship, when all the while she harbors a hatred of Trump and for people who voted for Trump.

Torrance is better than this. We need people on the Torrance City Council who will focus on the concerns of the city and make the right--yet sometimes hard--decisions for the city. We need people who will look past who people selected for President and focus on doing what is best for the city at present.

Jean Adelsman does not meet that standard.

Dishonest Jean is a No for me.
