Petition: Tell Broward Coward Sheriff Steve Israel to Resign

headline
DEMAND SHERIFF ISRAEL RESIGN IMMEDIATELY

Fifteen kids died while four Broward County Sheriff Deputies stood outside and did nothing. After the fact, Sheriff Israel -- the man in charge -- pointed the finger at the NRA and at President Trump rather than admit his utter failure.

Demand Sheriff Israel take responsibility for his own actions and resign effective immediately.

I, by digitally signing my name below, do hereby join in calling for Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel's resignation to be made effective immediately.

Friend:

Our kids deserve better than Sheriff Israel's failed leadership.

NOT MY
FAULT
Our schools deserve protection from law enforcement who come through on their sworn duty to save children...not cowards who freeze outside the door or take cover behind cars while innocent children and teachers are being slaughtered.

strongly urge you to join in holding Sheriff Israel accountable!

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warns residents of possible ICE raids

http://kron4.com/2018/02/24/oakland-mayor-libby-schaaf-warns-residents-of-possible-ice-raids/
OAKLAND (KRON)– Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf is warning residents of a possible ICE raid that could happen within the next 24 hours.
According to Schaaf, she learned of the raids from credible sources who say the Immigration and Customs Enforcement is preparing to conduct a sweep in the Bay Area.
Schaaf said she’s sharing the information not to incite panic, but to protect people.
The city is encouraging residents to consult immigration resources. Oakland police officers are prohibited from participating in ICE activities.

News from: Office of Mayor Libby Schaaf
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
February 24, 2018

Mayor Schaaf Encourages Residents to Consult Immigration Resources Due to Potential ICE Activity
Oakland, CA – Earlier today, I learned from multiple credible sources that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is preparing to conduct an operation in the Bay Area, including Oakland, starting as soon as within the next 24 hours.
As Mayor of Oakland, I am sharing this information publicly not to panic our residents but to protect them.
My priority is for the well-being and safety of all residents — particularly our most vulnerable — and I know that Oakland is safer when we share information, encourage community awareness, and care for our neighbors.
Interested residents should consult the website http://www.centrolegal.org/acilep/ to understand their legal rights and options in the event they face detention or know someone who needs legal representation.
In Oakland, OUSD public schools have strict protocols in place to protect our students and families. Oakland police officers are prohibited from participating in ICE activities.
Additionally, California state law prohibits business owners from assisting ICE agents in immigration enforcement and bars federal agents from accessing employee-only areas.
I have reached out to local leaders and partners in our immigrant communities to share this information. Our shared message is clear: We want residents to prepare, not panic. We understand ICE has used activity rumors in the past as a tactic to create fear; our intent is for our community to go about their daily lives without fear, but resiliency and awareness.
I am not aware of any further details of the ICE operation, such as precise locations.
I know that Oakland is a city of law-abiding immigrants and families who deserve to live free from the constant threat of arrest and deportation.
I believe it is my duty and moral obligation as Mayor to give those families fair warning when that threat appears imminent.
On Jan. 10, immigration agents descended on nearly 100 7-Eleven stores across the county including locations in Santa Rosa, Santa Clara, Petaluma, Suisun City, Napa and North Sebastopol.

Congresswoman Judy Chu Tax Scam Teach In
2/22/18 Town Hall at All Saints Church, Pasadena, CA
Report by Robin Hvidston

VIDEO: Congresswoman Judy Chu did not allow any of her opposition to ask a question during the town hall Q & A. After the meeting ended, she RAN away from constituents!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlcwB_TxD3s

Convoluted Judy Chu rambles as she "answers" a tax question.

JUDY CHU ATTACKS THE GOP TAX CUTS!
Open border, leftist Congresswoman Judy Chu held a Tax Town Hall, along with Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard. Four Trump Supporters attended the town hall. None of the Trump Supporters were called upon to ask a question during the Q & A. Both Chu and Roybal-Allard referred to fake facts and scare tactics when talking about the GOP tax cuts. After the town hall, Congresswoman Roybal-Allard disappeared!

Congresswoman Judy Chu remained in the meeting hall as audience members approached her and spoke to her.  When her constituent Robin Hvidston and Arthur Schaper approached and waited in the line to speak to her, she put her jacket on and ran out of the building to her car!

Judy Chu claimed at the town hall:
https://chu.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/reps-chu-and-roybal-allard-host-teach-gop-tax-scam
“Some can’t even predict what their tax burden is going to be anymore. That’s because, despite Republican promises to create a more simple tax code that gives every family a raise, what they passed does neither. Instead, Republicans completely cut Democrats out of what should have been a bipartisan process, and chose to rush through passing a bill that cuts taxes on corporations and the wealthiest few, while raising taxes on families and borrowing $2 trillion from our children to make today’s rich richer. Californians are in a particularly bad spot, because the tax bill’s changes to the SALT deduction mean Californians are going to have to choose between higher taxes and a lower standard of living. It’s just one of the ways this bill has left us worse than before. As a member of the House Ways and Means committee, I offered amendments that would have ensured more Americans would benefit from this bill, but each one was defeated by a party-line vote. Republicans weren’t interested in real reform so much as they were in making the rich richer. And that disconnect between their promise and what they delivered to the American people is creating confusion. That is why my colleague Lucille Roybal-Allard and I decided to host this teach-in. In order to ensure the economic stability of our constituents, we want them to how they can best plan for their future. I was so pleased with tonight’s turn out and I look forward to when I am able to host events explaining the good government has done for my constituents, not the confusion it has caused and the burden it has created.”

Rhode Island GOP: PawSox Stadium Big Waste of Money

For Immediate Release
February 26, 2018
A NEW STADIUM WILL NOT PAY FOR ITSELF
Warwick, RI - For months the PawSox ownership and their allies have been trying to fool the public by claiming that a new PawSox stadium will pay for itself, and today their allies produced a poll trying to show the public would support their new stadium proposal.

In response, Rhode Island Republican National Committeeman Steven Frias commented: “The truth is that a new PawSox stadium will not pay for itself.

First, the PawSox currently do not generate enough tax revenues to pay for a new stadium. Under the proposed legislation, taxpayers will pay $3.2 million a year for 30 years or a total of $96 million. According to RI Commerce, the PawSox generate less than that now. They generate about $1.6 million a year in actual sales and income tax revenues, and some of this income tax revenue withheld during the year is refunded after state tax returns are filed.

Second, the tax revenue estimates are based, in part, on a surge of more than 40 percent in attendance. This is unlikely and certainly not sustainable in the long-run. Since the new Pawsox ownership bought the team, and began demanding a new taxpayer funded stadium, attendance has declined by 20 percent. Building a new stadium will not help bring back fans turned off by the new ownership’s demands for taxpayer subsidies.

Third, tax revenue estimates relied upon by the PawSox are not reliable and can be easily manipulated. When the PawSox wanted to build a new stadium in Providence, their consultants said the new stadium would generate more than $2 million a year. Now, these same consultants say a new stadium in Pawtucket will generate more than $3 million a year. These estimates can’t be trusted.

Lastly, economists are nearly unanimous in concluding that the economic benefits generated by sports stadiums are very small, smaller than stadium advocates say, and smaller than the size of the taxpayer subsidies. There is no reason why a new PawSox stadium would be any different.”

CA Democratic Party Panic: No Endorsements, Eastin Outpolls Villaraigosa

Election 2018 has become more chaotic over the last weekend.

The California Democratic Party convention did not go as intended for a wide array of candidates seeking big support and major endorsements.

The state party convention delegates have to approve a candidate with 60% of their vote, or no endorsement is offered.

There are so many candidates running for office right now, that they have splintered the vote inexorably

Of the four major Democratic candidates for Governor (with a fifth candidate announcing her bid last week), none of them could achieve an endorsement.

What's more shocking, one of the major candidates, Antonio Villaraigosa, polled way, way behind an otherwise nonentity to many: Delaine Eastin.

Ouch! Let's not forget that Villaraigosa is tap-dancing around signature left-wing causes like single-payer health care, because he is hoping to appear moderate enough to peel away Republican voters in a general election against Gavin Newsom, if the two Democrats are the ones who enter the general election.

But WOW! Eastin got more delegate support than the former mayor of Los Angeles?!

OUCH!

This is not boding well for the California Democratic Party. No matter how much money Delaine raises, she doesn't have major media presence the way that Travis Allen does!
Delaine Eastin for Governor 2018
Dear Arthur --
This weekend the California Democratic Party held its annual convention in San Diego, and Delaine crushed all expectations. Delaine was up against two Democratic Party insiders who had received the Party endorsement just four years ago. She hit a home run, getting 20% of the vote compared to Antonio Villaraigosa’s 9%. No candidate received the endorsement and the corporate money backed frontrunner received just 39%.
People are excited and hopping on the Delaine Train. Can you keep our train running on time by donating today? You can also donate by texting 63566 with the text message Delaine.
conventiondelainetiny.jpg
Delaine’s message of putting all Californians, and particularly our children, first again, is resonating with people of all ages. She has excited former Hillary and Bernie supporters to elect a woman with real convictions who is not for sale to the highest bidder.
Delaine only answers to the people, but she still needs your help. The media continues to discount her because she hasn’t raised enough money. Help change that narrative by becoming a monthly donor. Or make a one time only contribution today.

Together, we can truly create a brighter future for all Californians.
Thank you,
Jennifer

Breaking: Doug Ose Drops Out (WINNING!)

The race for Governor is starting to brighten up.

Doug Ose, the former Congress from Sacramento County, finally realized it was a fool's errand to split the vote. He has announced that he will drop out of the race.

From the Sacramento Bee:

Republican drops out of race for California governor

Republican Doug Ose dropped out of the race for California governor Monday, citing a crowded field of candidates and lack of fundraising needed to defeat Democrats, who are leading in the polls.

BAM! He should never have jumped into the race to begin with!

"There's no money, and if you don't have enough money, you can't communicate a message," Ose said in an interview.

Ose said he made the decision after realizing traditional Republican donors would not support him.

"There's nobody willing to invest in a statewide Republican campaign to the level that needs to be done," he said. "The people that have traditionally written $25,000 checks are now writing $1,000 checks because they don't see a path for a Republican to win."

There was no path to win as long as the GOP field was divided so heavily. So glad that you are gone, Doug!

Ose, a Sacramento businessman and former member of the House, predicted other Republican rivals, Orange County Assemblyman Travis Allen and businessman John Cox, would face the same challenge.

"I have no doubt that they’re facing the same problem,” Ose said. “There’s no money and there’s nobody willing to invest in a statewide Republican campaign.”

Democrats are leading in the polls. Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom is considered the frontrunner in the race to succeed Gov. Jerry Brown. Neither he nor his Democratic challengers — former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, state Treasurer John Chiang or former state schools chief Delaine Eastin — earned the Democratic Party's endorsement at their convention in San Diego this past weekend.

For this reason, I have more hope that a Republican will make it into the Top Two for the general election. The Democrats are so deeply divide, and the third-tier nobody Delaine Eastin earned more delegate support than Antonio Villaraigosa.

Ose declined to say whether he'd back another Republican in the campaign, but suggested that if it's a Democrat-on-Democrat race, he'd vote for a moderate.

Democrats as moderates? Funny.

He needs to get behind one Republican--Travis Allen--and make sure that we get rid of John Cox.

Vote Travis Allen for Governor!

FYI: Allen released this statement following Ose's decision to drop out:

Travis Allen for Governor
Arthur,

We just got word that one of my Republican opponents dropped out of the race for Governor today.

This is fantastic news for California Republicans, because it means that we're one step closer to unifying the Republican vote in order to make it past the top-two Primary election and on to November.

But, there are still multiple Republicans in the race.

We're halfway to our $100,000 month-end fundraising goal ahead of the close of candidate filing on March 9th.

I need your help bringing it home in order to show our opponents that ours is the campaign our party needs to rally around, or else we could get shut out.

Before our Wednesday night deadline, please chip in $25, $250, $2,500 or whatever you can afford to help me hit this goal and ensure Republicans have a candidate in the November election.

Sincerely,

Travis Allen

P.S. If March 9th rolls around and multiple Republicans have filed to run for Governor, we risk letting two Democrats win the Primary. This is our last chance to ensure we have a single Republican candidate to unify the vote. We are leading in the polls, please help me show our opponents that we have the resources to win. Chip in $25 or more before our February fundraising deadline. Thanks, Travis

Diane Harkey: I'm Running!

Harkey for
Congres
Arthur,

Let me introduce myself. I am Diane Harkey and I am running for U.S. Congress because I've seen firsthand the need to reform the way government works, and more importantly the way it thinks.

I'll be frank: taxes are way too high, big government bureaucrats are wasteful, and our economy is crippled by overregulation.

After living California for over thirty-five years and serving as Chairwoman of Board of Equalization, I witnessed in ways large and small how government regulation can hinder or halt the very growth it claims to encourage.
Support Diane >>

I've spent my time on the Board working to ensure that every citizen is treated fairly by the government, which is exactly what I intend to do when elected to U.S. Congress.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul does not "grow" the economy. And dependency on government largess certainly does not "rescue" the poor from poverty.

It just attracts more government waste and prevents self-sufficiency and upward mobility.

I am running because I know that we cannot afford to send another Democrat — who espouses the same failed policies that have so burdened Californians — to Washington to implement those policies on a national level.

As you know, the Republican majority in the House is narrow and the balance of power could come down to who wins this race. We've made serious strides in Washington over the last year, and we can't afford to let them slip through our grasp now.

I am proud to have the support of Congressman Darrell Issa and Congresswoman Mimi Walters, who both know what it takes to get things done in Washington and how critical it is that we hold this seat.

Can I count on your support as we start this battle? Your contribution today will go directly toward laying the groundwork for a successful campaign.

Yes, Diane! You can count on me for $1000

I am no stranger to tough fights, and am determined to do what it takes to win — but I can't do it alone. I am counting on the support of people like YOU right now.

If you are as determined as I am to stop government overreach and send proven conservative voice to Congress, please make a small contribution of ANY AMOUNT today.

Sincerely,

Diane Harkey

P.S. Arthur, the race for CA-49 is predicted to me the closest in the nation. The national Democrat machine has been funneling money and activists here for over a year — and we have just now started raising money. We have serious ground to catch up on and I am counting on your help. Thanks, Diane.
