This is not the tone that is needed in the state of California.

We need fight, fight, fight. That's why grassroots voters got behind Travis Allen. This guy was not afraid to hit hard at Gavin Newsom and Antonio Villaraigosa

Allen didn't have the money, though, and therefore couldn't get his message out.

What I fear now is that the consultant class will continue to tell Cox to dumb down his conservative credentials and ignore the heartbeat concerns of many voters in the state of California.

During the winning video from the San Diego Union-Tribune, I didn't hear John Cox once mention the fallout of illegal immigration on our state. Yes, we must repeal the gas tax, and very likely that will be repealed in November. Yes, California is unaffordable. Yes, crime is up and the quality of life for residents is way down. The one thread that connects all of this is illegal immigration.

Carl De Maio is on board to fight this scourge which has ruined our state. We need every statewide candidate to do the same. It would be nice to see all five Republican candidates pooling their resources and working as a team.

Greg Conlon won the Top Two for Treasurer, too. Will he do more besides listing his name on the ballot? He needs to do more than just "be there."

I have shifted gears pretty quickly. We need to win the governor's race. We need better leaders in the state of California, who will put the needs of California residents ahead of lawless criminals and illegal aliens. The corruption in the state of California is unfathomable, too.

I don't want to hear nice talk between Newsom and Cox. I want a boxing match!

Another concern I have ...

The consultant class will twist and turn the outcomes and the speeches of Cox and other candidates throughout the state. The consultant class doesn't care about winning or losing. They make big money either way. The rest of us will suffer, however, if we don't get solid leadership in Sacramento.

Right now, Cox doesn't seem to have the fire that we need. He wants to talk numbers and wonky issues. That's all really nice, but going forward we need a pugilist. Will Cox rise to the challenge and fight?

Why Did Trump Endorse Cox Instead of Travis Allen?

President Trump is doing a stellar job as President. Even if Congress fails to keep its promises, the President has taken one goal after another off the list, completing the issues as needed.

He didn't get out of DACA right away, but at least he finally did it. It took a while, but I am so thankful that the President got busy and started righting our government, especially our immigration system, back on the right course.

He is not just staunchly pro-life, but he is governing that way, cutting the federal funding to Planned Murderhood and speaking out for life in rallies across the country. He was the first sitting President to speak at the March for Life in Washington DC. He is also endorsing pro-life justices and federal judges for courts all over the country.

I did not like the Omnibus that he signed, and I am still not fully invested in tariffs--unless the income tax is scrapped.

I also do not like many of his endorsements for federal and statewide offices.

He got behind Luther Strange in the Alabama primary once US Senator Jeff Sessions was nominated then confirmed as US Attorney General. He also supported John Cox, the Chicago carpet-bagger who has never won an elected office, who has no fire in his belly, who does not inspire the conservatives who voted for Trump. The biggest reason? Cox didn't vote for Trump in November 2016, but rather he got behind Gary Johnson as a protest vote.

He is also dithering on other issues, like the construction of the wall along our southern border. He supports stack-and-pack housing, and he spoke out in favor of a carbon tax. UGH!

Still, President Trump endorsed John Cox. Why?

First of all, the President and his team are looking at Congress. They need to hold the House of Representatives, and right now Democrats are working overtime attacking every available seat, including the ones which Hillary Clinton won over Donald Trump. Seven house seats in California went for Hillary Clinton, even if by the slimmest margins. Notwithstanding those outcomes, the incumbents all won re-election by comfortable margins.

I believe the whole "Hillary won" margin is a farce. Donald Trump was not the palatable candidate to many mainstream Republicans, although I believe that many of them were worried about defending this vote to their friends and neighbors at the awards ceremonies and the tea parties they routinely attend.

There are so many Democrats with money jumping into these races, and there are enough Republicans with strong name ID that it is looking more likely that two Republicans will burst through in some of these races. CD-39 and CD-49 are open seats because of retirements, and Dana Rohrabacher is taking on not just the Democrats but one of his corrupt former proteges Scott Baugh. I still don't understand why anyone would want to topple Dana?

He's doing a great job!

One source tells me that Kevin McCarthy, the current House Majority Leader, told Trump to get behind John Cox. He has the money and he does have more name ID right now because of all his money. Moreover, Trump is not going to look over lots of information to make a decision.

Let's also not forget that Trump has endorsed Mitt Romney for US Senate, yet he could not get the backing of the Utah caucuses and now must compete for the vote. Romney is another carpetbagger, much like John Cox, and his challenger is already racking in the money to fight back.

Travis Allen, my choice for governor, is facing so many hardships, too, and is getting less money, but he makes up for the fewer donations with lots of heart and widespread support. County Central Committees throughout the state are getting behind Travis Allen, most likely because of pressure and connections with his fellow Assembly colleagues.

Either way, Trump' decision is bad on its surface. If we do get a Republican in the Top Two for Governor, however, then we can at least say that this bad gamble will pay off in the long-run. California has so many problems facing its voters, and the last thing that we need is two Democrats at the Top of the Ticket both pledging to take us to Gomorrah, one slouching (Villaraigosa) and the other sprinting (Gavin Newsom).

John Cox, Dancing on Both Sides of "The Wall"

Wow.

It just gets worse for John Cox. This guy had opposed the wall, and now he's fully in support for the wall.

Did Cox really think he was going to get away with standing on two different sides of the wall?

Arthur! President Trump is in California today surveying the border with Mexico and reviewing prototypes for his proposed wall. Immigration always has been and always will be vital to the growth and strength of our nation, and I too believe that everyone who wants to come here must come through the front door -- legally. Response to Travis Allen Critics at CRA Convention (Video)

                        

The California Republican Assembly Convention in Buena Park was the first time I saw a contested race to get an endorsement.

The two remaining candidates for Governor, John Cox and Travis Allen, had posters and signs all over the walls. This convention featured for me the first time that I saw attack ads against other candidates. I was really surprised, but glad that candidates were actually fighting against each other for the endorsement from CRA delegates.

Here's a sample of the posters along the convention walls:

I decided to give my own assessment and response to the attack ads against Travis as well as the official statement from Mike Spence of the California Pro-Life Council. My video goes over the legislation and the votes to inform everyone of what's happening.

You will notice on the list in the middle of the photos that there are some votes which Travis Allen did not cast a vote. The middle photo also states that there are some bills for which Allen did not cast a "No" vote.

Of course, that does not mean that he voted for those policies. FYI, an abstention counts as a "No" vote.

Besides, Allen has been elected and he has a voting record. So what's the problem? As for John Cox, well, he's run for office multiple times and lost. He voted for Gary Johnson instead of supporting President Trump!

Not good! Not good at all.

I know whom I am voting for, and I hope that you support him, too!

"Crappy John" Cox: Liberal New "Majority" Pro-Cap and Trade, Agenda 21 Candidate

John Cox gave away more of the store when he debated terribly before the California Republican Assembly.

It's astonishing some of the things that he said.

1. At the outset, Cox was introduced as a member of the New Majority.

The New Majority is running away from cultural issues, the very issues which hold our communities together. The New Majority got behind RINO Kashkari in 2014 only because they feared a Donnelly candidacy would have hurt GOP chances all over the state.

Whatever their views, it's sad that we had a Democrat-lite RINO who had no interest in embracing or caring about the background and the concerns of the Republican Party or the state. RINO Kashkari voted twice for Barack Obama.

How is this guy a Republican? Would someone please tell me?

The New Majority gave David Hadley really bad advice and he lost in 2016, too.

New Majority people have made some really bad choices in other matters, too. Andy Gimme-Kandie (Gharakani is his real name) pushed back against the Beach Cities Republicans and did a lot of harm to conservatives of all backgrounds. I suspect very strongly that the deep pockets of the liberal-leaning New Majority pushed RPLAC to revoke the charter for the Beach Cities Republicans, too.

What's the point of a political party which has no interest in winning elections or shaping the culture? What's the point, indeed?

2. Cap and Trade. In the debate, Cox said he favored a carbon tax and the carbon-reduction talk. What? This is all wrong. Not good. Cap and Trade is a Wall Street scam which has no basis or bearing in reality.

3. He voted for "Libertarian" (Actually Liberal Statist) Gary Johnson. Reminder: John Cox voted for Gary Johnson, the same Gary Johnson who favored Cap and Trade taxes, along with locking up men and women who wouldn't bake a cake for a gay wedding. There was nothing libertarian about Gary Johnson. He was a pot-head heavy statist more interested in spoiling President Trump's chances and enjoying his three months of fame on the campaign trail.

I am so glad that Donald Trump is our President, by the way.

Not only that, but he tried to dance around the issue and run away from it in an interview with Scott Shafer of KQED:

4. Agenda 21. In a stunning moment, Cox admitted that we needed more high density housing and public transit. Members of the audience booed and called out loud: "No!"

No Agenda 21!

Cox is A-OK with Agenda 21. UGH! Please, someone, show this guy the door!

5. Log Cabin RINOs love John Cox.

Ugh. Charles Moran wants to celebrate John Cox, and even claims that the base is behind him all the way.

Cox wants to play a middling line of policy issues and positions. He is trying to display himself as a middling candidate who can appeal to Independents and Democrats.

But he isn't even appealing to Republicans or to Trump supporters!

CA Democratic Party Panic: No Endorsements, Eastin Outpolls Villaraigosa

Election 2018 has become more chaotic over the last weekend.

The California Democratic Party convention did not go as intended for a wide array of candidates seeking big support and major endorsements.

The state party convention delegates have to approve a candidate with 60% of their vote, or no endorsement is offered.

Of the four major Democratic candidates for Governor (with a fifth candidate announcing her bid last week), none of them could achieve an endorsement.

What's more shocking, one of the major candidates, Antonio Villaraigosa, polled way, way behind an otherwise nonentity to many: Delaine Eastin.

Ouch! Let's not forget that Villaraigosa is tap-dancing around signature left-wing causes like single-payer health care, because he is hoping to appear moderate enough to peel away Republican voters in a general election against Gavin Newsom, if the two Democrats are the ones who enter the general election.

But WOW! Eastin got more delegate support than the former mayor of Los Angeles?!

OUCH!

This is not boding well for the California Democratic Party. No matter how much money Delaine raises, she doesn't have major media presence the way that Travis Allen does!

Breaking: Doug Ose Drops Out (WINNING!)

The race for Governor is starting to brighten up.

Doug Ose, the former Congress from Sacramento County, finally realized it was a fool's errand to split the vote. He has announced that he will drop out of the race.

Republican drops out of race for California governor

Republican Doug Ose dropped out of the race for California governor Monday, citing a crowded field of candidates and lack of fundraising needed to defeat Democrats, who are leading in the polls.

BAM! He should never have jumped into the race to begin with!

"There's no money, and if you don't have enough money, you can't communicate a message," Ose said in an interview.

Ose said he made the decision after realizing traditional Republican donors would not support him.

"There's nobody willing to invest in a statewide Republican campaign to the level that needs to be done," he said. "The people that have traditionally written $25,000 checks are now writing $1,000 checks because they don't see a path for a Republican to win."

There was no path to win as long as the GOP field was divided so heavily. So glad that you are gone, Doug!

Ose, a Sacramento businessman and former member of the House, predicted other Republican rivals, Orange County Assemblyman Travis Allen and businessman John Cox, would face the same challenge.

"I have no doubt that they’re facing the same problem,” Ose said. “There’s no money and there’s nobody willing to invest in a statewide Republican campaign.”

Democrats are leading in the polls. Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom is considered the frontrunner in the race to succeed Gov. Jerry Brown. Neither he nor his Democratic challengers — former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, state Treasurer John Chiang or former state schools chief Delaine Eastin — earned the Democratic Party's endorsement at their convention in San Diego this past weekend.

For this reason, I have more hope that a Republican will make it into the Top Two for the general election. The Democrats are so deeply divide, and the third-tier nobody Delaine Eastin earned more delegate support than Antonio Villaraigosa.

Ose declined to say whether he'd back another Republican in the campaign, but suggested that if it's a Democrat-on-Democrat race, he'd vote for a moderate.

Democrats as moderates? Funny.

He needs to get behind one Republican--Travis Allen--and make sure that we get rid of John Cox.
