Huntington Park to Hire Engineering Firm Under Federal Investigation?

I received this email about ten minutes ago from an email address cityhallobserver@yahoo.com.

Huntington Park is to corruption which the color blue is to the sky--everywhere, all-encompassing,
and definitive.

So, for the sake of time, I am reprinting the email I received below:

Subject: Is the HP city council seriously considering hiring today an engineering firm that has been under federal investigation for bribery?

Corrupt HP Police Lieutenant Alfred Martinez

The company changed its name from AAE to Infrastructure Engineers after the investigation became public. Has a proper background check been conducted into all the companies applying?  Is this the direction the city is moving after the Noguez scandal, the trash company scandal in 2015, the appointment of illegal aliens to city commissions, the HP Tow bribery scandal, the Metro Transit contract controversy and Mario Beltran and Councilwoman Ortiz' brother, and Councilwoman Macias controversial business relationship with Efren Martinez?

What We Still Need to Learn from Rosa Parks

This week, President Trump commemorated the courage of Rosa Parks, the Montgomery, Alabama seamstress who refused to give up her seat on a bus. In his latest address, the President expanded on the significance of her civil disobedience: “She defended the truth etched into our Declaration of Independence, that all of us, regardless of the color of our skin, are created equal by God.” Incidentally, both Trump and Parks received Ellis Island Awards in 1989 for their work helping inner city black youth.

I first learned about Rosa Parks in Second Grade. The actors dramatizing her story were black and white, but they interchanged the races of their roles by wearing a black or white scarf. It was an interesting interplay, demonstrating that the fight for civil rights belongs to everyone. In high school, I watched a one-woman show dramatizing that entire day. The actress played Rosa Parks’ coming home from work. She also played the racist bus driver telling her to give up her seat, then presented the aftermath of her arrest and the sensational fame that followed.

The basic details of that fateful day are well-known. December 1st, 1955, Parks was coming home from another long day at work. Alabama winter dip into the low 40s, so she took the bus. She was ready to get out of the cold and get home, as anyone would. Because of the racist Jim Crow laws, she sat down in the Colored Section of the bus after she bought her pass. Pretty soon, the entire “Whites Only” section filled up, yet more white passengers began boarding. The bus driver told Parks and three other black passengers to move to the back of the bus. While the others moved as ordered, she refused. Despite warnings from the bus driver that he would have her arrested, she said “No”. Police arrived, put her in handcuffs, booked her. She was released on $100 bail.

Recently, I learned more pertinent details of that day and why Rosa Parks’ simple act of defiance brought down the established racist social order.

Some people think that Parks was a lady just looking for a fight. In the past, Parks had grudgingly complied with Jim Crow laws, although one incident stuck out her in mind. In 1943, she paid her fare, then attempted to enter through the middle door outside, the common practice on segregated bus lines. Instead of waiting, the bus driver just drove off without her. She determined never to suffer that kind of outrage and humiliation, and further resolved to avoid that particular bus driver, James Blake. But without realizing it, her bus driver that day was the same bigoted bus driver who had left her stranded 12 years ago. There was no way that Blake would get away with dishonoring her a second time.

Many people believe that Parks decided on that December evening to resist the bus line’s Jim Crow ordinance. Some readers may even recall Old Eddie’s refrain from the movie Barbershop: “Rosa Parks didn’t do nothin’ but sit her black a--- down … she was tired.” Actually, Parks wasn’t burned out physically that evening. Also, she had been waiting for the right moment to challenge the unjust law. In her own words, Parks was just “tired of giving in.”

What was she thinking about at that critical moment on the bus? What imposed on her specifically to stand firm and not give in? She thought of 14-yearold Emmett Till, the black boy brutally lynched earlier that year for whistling at a white woman. The bitter injustice of a young boy’s outrageous  murder motivated her to take a stand.

Furthermore, Rosa Parks’ decision was not some “didn’t do nothing” act, for she suffered a great deal following her civil disobedience. She went to jail, faced a fine. Supporters filed a lawsuit on her behalf, which stalled in court. She would lose her job and receive death threats afterwards, even when she moved to Detroit. It cost her a great deal.

Another question arises: Many black activists before her had refused to give up their seats, yet nothing happened. Why was Parks’ refusal to give up her seat successful in fueling protest and ending the bus line segregation? Her actions captured the attention of the new, burgeoning national media, which repeatedly documented the excesses of liberal Democratic bigotry in the South. Because of her connections with fellow activists as the secretary of the Montgomery NAACP, outrage erupted immediately to organize a sustained and ultimately successful boycott.

What should we learn today from her fight against racism and government-sponsored bigotry? How all of us can fight back against a latent movement of resegregation on college campuses and liberal cities. The obsession in higher education with “white supremacy” is particularly disturbing and needs to be confronted, and not just in the United States. One activist in Downtown Los Angeles informed me that white people in South Africa are now experiencing unprecedented racial discrimination, from black patrons who refuse to tip white servers, to white farmers being driven off their land.

Charges of racism have also turned into a militant excuse to shut down meaningful discussion on college campuses. Black activists have blocked white students from entering college dorms. Chicano activists chased white people out of a local park in San Diego. A Professor Emeritus at UC Riverside chanted about “The Brown Race and the Brown Giant” taking over the United States. On the same campus, a Hispanic student stole a MAGA hat from a Trump supporter in the name of ending “genocide”. Whatever happened to “All men are created equal”? Racism is racism, no matter who perpetrates it or is victimized by it.

Let’s hope that Rosa Parks’ example will inspire people today to see everyone as created equal in the eyes of God. The fight for civil rights includes everyone. If necessary, more people will need to engage in civil disobedience, always with the emphasis on “civil”. Parks’ example should still inspire us.

Who's Next on the #MeToo Chopping Block in Sacramento? Matt "The Jerk" Dababneh

The sexual harassment scandals are spilling out into the open like never before. The Democrats have stood by their perverts and predators for years, but they no longer have a strong protection in the corrupt, left-wing media.

Raul Bocanegra has resigned.

It looks like Matt Dababneh is next, as a disturbing set of allegations from lobbyist Pamela Lopez indicates that the West Valley Democratic assembly locked her in a bar bathroom and masturbated inf front of her.

Other campaign staffers have commented that is sexual behaviors and disgusting banter drove other women away from assisting candidates in their campaign bids.

This is pretty sick, althought Dababneh denies all of it, and his lawyer has issued a cease and desist letter to Lopez.

At an emotional press conference in Sacramento Monday morning, lobbyist Pamela Lopez named Assemblyman Matt Dababneh (D-Woodland Hills) as the legislator she says pushed her into a bar restroom and masturbated in front of her. Lopez says they were at a party in Las Vegas to celebrate two mutual friends’ wedding, not in Sacramento as previously reported.

Lopez, who testified about the incident at an Assembly hearing last week without naming the legislator, said at the time she feared retaliation for speaking out. She was also afraid that revealing the episode took place in Las Vegas would reveal Dababneh’s identity before she was ready.

Another blog suggests that the Los Angeles Times has known about Dababneh's salacious behavior, but refused to report on it. Shameful!

Sacramento lobbyist Pamela Lopez has claimed that, in 2016, Democratic Assemblyman Matt Dababneh followed her into a bathroom, masturbated in front of her and urged her to touch him. Dababneh has strongly denied the allegation.

"It was Matt Dababneh," Lopez told The Times in a November interview.

Lopez jolted the California political world seven weeks ago when she first shared her account of an encounter in Las Vegas, joining more than 140 women as they denounced in an open letter a "pervasive" culture of sexual harassment and misconduct in the state Capitol.

The Los Angeles Times was not "jolted" by this story. The true jolting occurred when this pro-Democratic rag had no choice but to report on the "Jerk from West Valley".

Lopez had not publicly accused Dababneh until Monday, when she formally filed a complaint with the Assembly and named him at a news conference. The Times had been preparing a report on her accusations against Dababneh, and sought the assemblyman's comment late last week.

Dababneh told the Times on Monday afternoon that he "100%" denies Lopez's allegation.
"I am utterly shocked and blown away," Dababneh said in an interview. "This is a career-ending charge based on no facts."

Yet the Democratic Party throughout the country jumps on every hint of impropriety against Republicans, and they demand that the court of public opinion serve as judge, jury, and political career executioner.

Cry me a river, Matt!

Lopez, 35, first told her story of the encounter to the New York Times in October, but she declined to name the legislator. At an Assembly hearing Tuesday on harassment prevention, she said, "I am fearful of being retaliated against."

She has told the Los Angeles Times in a series of interviews she worried that naming the legislator would turn him into a scapegoat, distracting from the larger issues of a Capitol culture she believes does not sufficiently protect women. She also told The Times she wasn't naming him because he holds a powerful position.

He is chairman of  the Finance and Banking Committee. Wow. It looks like all of his chances have been cashed out at this point.

Lopez said in the interviews that when she initially told her story to news organizations, she purposely misstated the location, saying it happened in a bar in Sacramento. The reason, she said, was that she feared disclosing the true location — a co-ed bachelor party at a Las Vegas hotel – because it would have made it easier to identify Dababneh.

HUH?

The heads are rolling in Sacramento. It's about time.

James Lacy Slams Fired OC Weekly Hacks for Attempt to Silence Him

James Lacy is a California conservative commentator who has provided refreshing insight on political developments in Washington DC, across the country, and even in California. He has spoken on local public television about the state of the California Republican Party, but has maintained respectable optimism for conservatism's long-term gains.

Lacy supported President Trump early on, too, and was unfazed by damaging reports in the media as well as the heavily slanted polling in Hillary Clinton's favor. The disparaging mockery of the left-wing media elites never distempered him, despite their best efforts.

Trump won, we are all winning, and the media is losing big time in terms of ratings, revenue, and respectability.

Of course, Lacy's dreams and determination have not stopped the diminished, corrosive liberal media from attacking him with abandon. Their unethical efforts to write nasty hit pieces against political opponents have become so overt, it's amazing that anyone takes them seriously, or treats them even level above parody mags like MAD or National Lampoon.

When Lacy wanted to discuss and learn more about the new leadership for the flailing Alt-Media rag LA Weekly, Gustavo Arellano threatened him with a hit piece by muck-raking has-been R. Scott Moxley.

California Political Review reports:

There is a controversy on social media going on regarding the new ownership of the LA Weekly newspaper.   But Gustavo Arellano, a former writer for the OC Weekly and Voice of Orange County ...

Lacy is too charitable. Arellano refused to lead his failing alt-media rag, since all the pot and porn ads aren't bringing in enough money. The owners of the OC Weekly old La Cucaracha Arellano to cut the overpaid staff by half. Gustavo offered to cut his own salary as part of a different means to save the other hack writers. The ownership said "No!", and Arellano decided to quit.

Wow! Just thinking about it show what a win-win that was! The owners gut the staff, and Arellano threw himself on the funeral bier for added fun. So much winning.

Now, about LA Weekly, last week's headlines announced that a new company had taken over that alt-weekly, and terminated nine of the editors and reduced the office to one staffer.

Lacy commented on social media about this, but Arellano seemds to have a problem with other people exercising their First Amendment rights:

[He] threatened me from participating in the debate on social media by tweeting to me after  I made a comment:

“But with you popping in, don’t get @RScottMoxley interested!”

Should we really be scared of former SoCal award winner Moxley, though?

Lacy continues:

R. Scott Moxley describes himself as a person whose “award-winning investigative journalism has touched nerves for two decades.”  Moxley’s pieces include very negative exposes, often targeting conservatives, like me.  So, what Arellano was conveying to me in his tweet, now deleted, and blocked from his account, is that if I had anything more to say about the LA Weekly newspaper ownership issue, that I could draw a retaliatory negative story from his friend Moxley at the OC Weekly.

Arellano has a habit of attacking people in the social media sphere, then retreating, deleting, and finally blocking those whom he has criticized. Not much courage there, folks, and his influence is diminishing considerably by the day. Where is he writing now? At least we don't have to settle for his anti-Trump, anti-conservative, anti-American rants in print anymore.

Journalism is great when it “touches nerves” and exposes hidden truths.  But journalists are quite shameful individuals when they threaten to use their contacts to suppress public participation in debate.

The double standard on freedom of speech lies with the left. They want freedom of speech, but only if you are talking about what they want to hear. Anything controversial or in conflict with their brittle worldview, and they lash out.

Yet it is very clear that Gustavo Arellano intended to bully me into silence, and for this he deserves to be outed for the bully he is, and he owes me, and his profession, and even R. Scott Moxley, an apology.

They are bullies, but the good news is that conservatives are finding more--and easier--ways to punch back twice as hard. These hollow leftist are falling back, unable to counter the conservative alternatives which Saul Alinksy warned about.

I do believe, however, that justice will be swift indeed. They had written a hit piece against me in December 2016. Friends and followers of mine actually celebrated, because if I was getting the attention of these left-wing hacks, it means that I was really becoming a mover and shaker in the SoCal scene. Incidentally enough, however, their usual coven of readers (all five of them) mocked Moxley and the editors for printing a hit piece against "little ol'" me. Am I really that important? Better question: is OC Weekly important?

Funny but true, the corrupt, hateful, bigoted, anti-liberty left-wing media are getting taken to the cleaners. Conservatives are fighting back and winning the policy and political debate. President Trump took off the gloves and beat down the media as no other President would--or could. Now we are watching their once invincible army falling apart all around them!

The Incredible, Shrinking Liberal Media: Newsracks Targeted for Removal

El Segundo, California has a large street running between the residential and industrial sections of the city. Sepulveda Blvd rushes south before turning into Pacific Coast Highway, then turns eastward toward Long Beach and into Orange County. The major corporations in the aerospace industry have housed a number of their branch offices and plants in El Segundo.

Chevron's large refinery stands along the southern border of the city. LAX covers the northern section. El Segundo is a massive hub of national and international activity, especially with the large US Airforce base located to the east.

With so much commerce and activity, one would assume that consumers would purchase every copy of the local newspapers in the newsreels and newsracks.

Yet at the LA Metro Green Line station, particularly the junction located at Aviation Blvd. and Imperial Highway, I noticed that one of the Los Angeles Times newsracks had not changed out the Saturday, December 2nd editions of the newspaper:

Notice that yellow sticker, too. Why can't the delivery men stop buy and put in the Sunday editions of the LA Times? They get stolen very easily, for starters, right? Then again, no one was reading the Saturday edition of the LA Times, anyway. It looks like the LA times has gotten so unappealing that people won't even steal it.

Again, these sections of Los Angeles County are connected to major transportation. Men and women from all over the world driver through El Segundo. Men and women of all professional backgrounds frequent the restaurants along Sepulveda Blvd. Surely some of them, any number among those large numbers, why buy a newspaper or two, right?

Guess again.

Check out all of these abandoned racks along Sepulveda:

They have been targeted for potential removal if they are out of compliance with the El Segundo Municipal code.

These racks are dirty, blighted. Some of them don't look as if they have been used for at last a year. Notice that two of the racks subject to demolition below to the major Fake News newspapers in the South Bay region:

The liberal press is taking a beating like never before. In many ways, it is of their own making. They have pushed liberal talking points for decades, and the technology revolution has made it all too easy for consumers to look up articles online. For the diminishing flagship media sites which charge readers to view articles, less traffic than before is coming to their news sites.

Newspapers are desperate for readers, for traffic, and for revenue. They have resorted to printing relentlessly negative articles about President Trump and traditional culture and values. They are doubling down on the same empty refrain of left-wing narrative pablum, which is precisely what is drying up interest in their print media to begin with.

Project Veritas ran another undercover sting operation on the Washington Post, and one of the journalists admitted that they depend on the Trump Presidency for 40% of their readership. Most of their articles are sensationalist, controversial, and in too many cases unsubstantiated.

If the press will not respect the will and intellect of the reading public, they should expect more of the same to happen to their increasingly neglected newsracks. This is a seismic shift in the media industry, for sure, and for something this massive to occur in one of the wealthiest enclaves of Los Angeles County is particularly telling.

Letter to the Editor: Rosa Parks Wasn't the Only One

Mr. Schaper,

I very much enjoyed your piece on Rosa Parks.  She became the poster girl for civil rights after the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott , but that isn't the whole story.  Millions of school children have learned of her brave refusal to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus in December 1955 and the subsequent struggle to desegregate the buses in Montgomery.  Nine months before Rosa refused to give up her seat on the bus a 15 year old Negro girl  named Claudette Colvin refused to giver up her seat on a Montgomery bus and was arrested, and it was she  and four other young women whose testimony and court case (Broder v Gayle) ended segregation on buses in the South.  In fact when Jo Ann Robinson printed thousands of flyers that began the bus boycott Claudette's name (though misspelled as Claudette Colbert)  and not Rosa's was on the flyers. On December 17, 1956 the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the case that included Claudette.

Unfortunately Claudette Colvin his become a forgotten footnote in history.  Like Rosa, Claudette moved North where she took a job in a hospital.  She was occasionally interviewed by historians and media, but she lived in the shadow of Rosa Parks.  It is a shame that our politicians, schools and media have neglected to study the actual case and continue to celebrate Rosa. Claudette  was an inspiration and she deserves to be recognized.

Sincerely,

Gary Y. Coates

----

I don't see why we should not recognized Claudette!

LOL: Log Cabin "Republicans" Shame Christians to Reject Roy Moore

The Log Cabin "Republicans" have been kicking around for the last decade or two. They are a collection of Republicans who want to be identified by their sexual behaviors or their made-up gender identity rather than honoring the time-honored tradition of standing in their God-given natural rights.

The Log Cabin "Republicans" are out of concert with the national and even state party platforms. Natural marriage is defined by one man and one woman. Homosexuality is a disordered behavior, and transgenderism is a mental disorder.

It is not hatred or bigotry to condemn these behaviors, because there is no love in lying to people.

What is truly offensive, though, is that the Log Cabin "Republicans" want to lecture Christian voters in Alabama to "Reject Roy Moore."

Why?

Check out their advertisement below:

This commercial announces that there is a war on Christianity, and a war on the American way of life, including life, family, and children.

Then the commercial suddenly veers into urging voters to reject Roy Moore.

Why?

There is nothing in the commercial to suggest that Judge Roy is not a Christian, or the he is militantly opposed to Biblical values and morality. Quite the contrary, Moore has fought hard for full recognize of God and His goodness in our public life. He insisted on retaining the Ten Commandments in a local courthouse. He was removed from the bench the first time for doing that.

In spite of the first forced removal from the bench, Moore ran a second time and was elected with statewide acclaim. When the US Supreme Court forced the redefinination of marriage onto the entire country, he refused to comply with the order, and a second time he was forcibly removed from the bench.

Now he is running for US Senate. He already defeated two well-connected and well-moneyed challengers, including the appointed incumbent Luther Strange as well as strong, staunch conservative Congressman Mo Brooks of Northern Alabama.

But the Log Cabin "Republicans" want him gone? Really? What do the offer in exchange for Moore? They are commiuted to getting a Democrat elected to a historically Repiublican seat?

Their press release gives a little more information into their mindset:

sasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Washington, D.C. — Today Log Cabin Republicans weighed in on United States Senate candidate Roy Moore in a video urging good Christians to stand up against the theocratic demagogue.

“Roy Moore has spent his entire career using his bigoted brand of Christianity as a weapon to relentlessly attack members of the LGBT community, all the while allegedly preying upon the most vulnerable in our society,” Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo stated. “Moore’s myopic faith prevents him from seeing that a significant number of LGBT individuals are devout Christians themselves, including many members of Log Cabin Republicans.

Regardless of one’s sexual orientation or gender identity, it’s time for good Christians to do what good Christians do: REJECT Roy Moore.”

Log Cabin Republicans is the nation’s premier Republican organization representing LGBT conservatives and straight allies. For 40 years we have been the voice for an inclusive Republican Party with state and local chapters nationwide, a full-time office in a federal political action committee and state political action committees.

Gregory Angelo is repeated the same fake news lies and smears of the liberal, dying media. I can't believe that the Republican National Committee has not condemned or rebuked this unsound tirade. Unbelievable.

Angelo is basically signaling that the biblical, moral underpinnings of the Word of God are "bigoted." The cultural Marxism, the language of the Left is suffused in this tirade against Roy Moore. Do the LCR members believe that all men are created equal? Do they recognize that our natural rights come from God? Our whole legal and political culture is founded on these fundamental principles. Moore stands by those truths, declared self-evident in the Declaration of Independence. That is not bigotry. It's biblical morality informed by biological evidence.

They want to talk about being "inclusive", when the distortion of sexual mores and gender realities is troubling and exclusive. One source has suggested to me that the LCR is a Democratic front group. There are more reasons to believe this assertion.

The endorsement and celebration of LGBT behaviors and lifestyles is neither Christian nor Christ-like, and for them to endorse lies about Judge Moore in a brazen, shameless attempt to silence true discussion and dissent against the whole homosexual-transgender movement is beyond shameful

It's time to hold the Log Cabin "Republicans" accountable for these smears and lies.

Send a message to the moral as well as financial swamp overwhelming Washington DC:

Call their Washington DC office and demand that the stop shaming Judge Roy--and stop endorsing destructive lifestyles and behaviors in the name of tolerance and inclusion:
