Election 2024: Restoration, Not Just Maintenance or Managed Decline

We are down to the wire. November 5^th, here it comes.

The polling is up and down and all around. Trump is ahead of Kamala Harris by one or two points in all the swing states, according to many polls. Yet the lingering fears of voter fraud and election tampering remain high among the MAGA faithful. Vigilance and voting early is important, but ensuring that the Democratic machines cannot manufacture ballots is also a must. Has anyone paid attention long enough to prevent that gross corruption? We shall see.

To the credit of the RNC and its new leadership, Republicans are proactively fending off voter fraud issues and election integrity problems. Still, I agree with Evan Power, Chairman of the Florida GOP: every state should adopt the Sunshine State’s flawless, effective, and smooth voting procedures. Once a state synonymous with crisis-level counting problem (Elections 1876, 2000, 2018), Florida has become the hallmark for sound election procedures—and across two time zones!

I have my fingers crossed for Donald Trump to win, whether by a little or a lot. But the fight will not be over, not by a long shot.

Our country is bitterly divided. The fact that Americans are so invested—nay, obsessed—with the Presidential election is contrary to everything that the Framers hoped for. The Presidency has become too oppressive and omnipresent in our life and times. Note that I wrote “The Presidency” and not “The President.” As Greg Greenwald has observed, the United States government has been functioning without a functional president for the last six months, the perfect evidence that the Deep State is real and needs to be eradicated root and branch.

The federal government spends too much, does too much, is too much.

I welcome Elon Musk and retired US Congressman Ron Paul’s cost-cutting proposals. Forget the Office of Government Efficiency. Just go “Javier Milei” on the federal government and start shutting down all the useless, unconstitutional executive departments. I would start with the Department of Education, but Housing, Transportation, the Interior, Commerce, and a few others should be on the chopping block ASAP.

But I want to make a greater plea from our next President and our remaining, resilient citizenry, regardless of who wins the Presidential election this November.

I am tired of managed decline, and I do not want the hastened, woke decline of Kamala Harris and Company. Aren’t we tired of the specter of Communism becoming a little more concrete with every passing year? Aren’t we tired of the next generation struggling with deeper mental issues and steeper financial problems?

Since the end of the Cold War, post 9-11, we have seen nothing but the casual then accelerated erosion of our constitutional Republic. Though I have a slight, cautious optimism that Trump will win the election, I fear that he will continue to lose the war: the war against culture Marxism, the fight against moral decline, and the battle against unconstitutional oversight and overreach.

It’s not only his failures from his previous four-year team. George W. Bush relished the surveillance state, and Barack Obama fed the Military-Industrial Complex as well as fomented government intrusion into one-sixth of the American economy (Obamacare).

We the People can no longer neglect nor ignore the burgeoning, ballooning national debt, either. From the erosion of the dollar to skyrocketing costs for food and fuel, unconstitutional indebtedness must be savagely savaged. No more excuses!

Will President Trump step up and change course from his previous four years? He cut the regulations; he allowed energy production to flow unhindered. There was generous economic improvements. But the spending, the immigration issues, the Swamp all remained stagnant or malignant. We can no longer tolerate Trump-like half-measures as a people or as a country. Four more years of managed decline and tapering the excesses of the political Left plus the Woke DC bureaucracy won’t cut it. And We the People should not tolerate it.

It saddens me that I must look to once-backward foreign countries like Argentina and El Salvador for hope and guidance. Nayib Bukele has cleaned up his country, locking up all the gangs, improving public safety to such a level that his Central American nation is safer than the United States! He is expanding business, investment, and international prestige for his once-pariah state. He turned a gang-invested hell-hole into a must-visit destination.

Then there’s libertarian President/Rock Star Javier Milei. This man has taken a chainsaw to every government program. He is privatizing at the fastest clip in modern history. He hasn’t just tapered but flattened inflation. And he embraces cultural restoration, as well. He educates the next generation about the Right to Life. He has lectured Globalist Cesspools like the WEF and the UN that their collectivist visions are myopic dystopias.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not just winning another war on terror, but he wins with such assiduousness. No prolonged battles, and terrorists in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Iran are on the run. He puts his people first. He stops illegal immigration and stands up for the rights of Christians, though they are a minority in his country.

Why can’t we have good things, too? Shouldn’t the President of the United States make these broad, bold moves? Trump should follow the example of his international peers. But will he?

Above all, the United States must be re-united around our constitutional republic, our Anglo-American legal traditions, our Judeo-Christian heritage, and most importantly our Revolutionary Legacy. Right now, these historic accolades are not just under attack, but in disrepute and disarray.

I welcome Governor Ron DeSantis’ reminder of the Vision of our Founders during his RNC 2024 Speech. The American People need to revive that vision, for where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs  29:18). It is time for us to cry out “Restore, Restore” (Isaiah 42:22) as opposed to settling for the maintenance of the status quo or managed decline.

Canada’s government, its civil society, and particularly its legal system have become a nightmare, routinely thwarting truth and justice. Its ruling class has adopted a brutal, woke/Marxist-like approach contravening liberty, morality, public health, and even public safety – far outpacing the US.

Earlier this month, one of Canada’s top pro-freedom attorneys, James Kitchen, spoke with Arthur Schaper of MassResistance about what’s happening in Canada and how the few remaining “sane” lawyers deal with it. We found this to be a truly fascinating and insightful discussion of the devolution of the legal system and Canadian society – and how principled attorneys are battling back.

Attorney Kitchen currently represents Rob Hoogland, the father of a “transgender” daughter in British Columbia. In February 2020, a Canadian court ruled that Rob could not interfere with his 14-year-old daughter's "sex-change" treatments being pushed on her by her school and pro-trans doctors.

The LGBT movement hired lawyers to help the girl sue her own father, and the courts imposed a draconian “gag order” on Rob. So he (or anyone in Canada!) has been banned from revealing the details of what happened to his daughter, or even from using his real name in conjunction with the case. (The courts have ordered that Rob be called “CD” when referring to this case.) Rob was even sent to prison for breaking the gag order. MassResistance – not bound by Canadian courts – has published the details which are illegal to discuss in Canada.

Rob is now out of prison. The daughter is no longer under 18, so the court’s excuse of “protecting” a minor’s privacy no longer holds. Atty. Kitchen is going to court to have the “gag order” finally lifted. But even that will be an uphill battle.

The interview

James Kitchen describes himself as primarily a civil liberties lawyer. “I’m passionate about people’s individual liberties to live their life as they please.”  That puts him at odds with the direction of Canadian society. “I’m very anti-Marxist and anti-Communist and all the rest of it. I believe in human freedom, which these days makes me a minority – especially among lawyers.”

Why has this happened in Canada? It hasn’t always been this way, he says. There’s been a shift in just the last 25-30 years. “Maybe it’s because Canada has moved to the left and people gravitate toward power. And if people have high individual rights, there’s less power [that can be wielded over them]. And it’s not just the legal profession. It’s most of the professionals, elites, and wealthy, powerful people. It’s why all our institutions in Canada have become Marxist.”

Kitchen has had considerable success in courts undermining tyrannical orders and oppressive dictates against individuals. However, he readily admits that he loses most of his cases. That’s because he doesn’t shy away from cases that are very difficult and controversial. He’s generally taking on something that’s unpopular in the courts, particularly among the judges. “Their worldview is they just don’t like the outcome that I am pursuing,” he notes.

He discusses the mindset of the overwhelming numbers of the legal profession in Canada today – and particularly the judges. As is common in Marxist thinking, they simply refuse to follow the law and legal reasoning as it’s always been understood. The political outcome trumps everything.

“Although the law may be on my side, although the facts may be on my side, I’m fighting an uphill political battle,” he told us. “Our position doesn’t fit their narrative or their worldview. So they’ll make up fancy reasons for why I’m wrong and they’re right, and they’ll subtly change the law to do so.”

He said most of his successes come by fighting hard, with persistence – and the other side simply gives up. They often tend to wither in the face of someone who has strong principles and courage. But that’s still quite a challenge because the other side has far more resources.

However, even the failures in court have had some positive effect, he says.

In one of his recent cases, a Catholic school in Ontario suspended a 16-year-old student and even had the police come and arrest him for saying “there are only two genders and you were born either a male or female.” The school’s trustees defended that action.

 Sixteen-year-old boy is brought into custody by police outside of St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Renfrew, Ontario. His crime: stating in class that people can only be male or female.

Kitchen commented on why people like those school officials are doing these frightening things. “What are officials like these so-called Catholic trustees motivated by? They’re not motivated by good things. They’re motivated by power, status, money, or fear because someone’s controlling them, telling them what to do.”

It’s a big problem across the country, he says, as a result of the oppression and attempted brainwashing by the government, the media, and other social forces. “Your typical average person really struggles to have intellectual and moral clarity.” People unfortunately tend to be like sheep. Ideas feel good and sound good, but are really not good when you get a chance to think hard about them.” He added that probably 85% of the people just go along with it because it’s easier to do and most people are followers.

But the good news in Canada, he says, is that people are starting to push back. “When a few leaders do things, people begin to wake up and follow along with them.” More and more people “are no longer terrified.”

“I think that June 2024 – Pride Month – is going to be very interesting. You’re going to see the biggest pushback,” he predicts, because regular people are realizing how horrible for society LGBT normalization really is.

A major push by Kitchen and other attorneys is to force more of these cases to be dealt with in the open. Nearly all establishment attorneys in Canada prefer to have cases decided behind closed doors, or keep large portions of the court record shielded from public view. The written decision by the Catholic school trustees on his case was legally kept from the public.

Kitchen does the opposite. He insists that all his cases be public. “We must expose the corruption by litigating publicly,” he said. That is also an uphill battle. But he has seen that it really helps educate the citizens.

The community of freedom-fighting lawyers in Canada is quite small but is very tight and dedicated despite the hostile environment they’re in, he told us.

His immediate goal with Rob Hoogland is to free his name and identity. “He’s one small part on the big lie that is transgenderism. The best weapon against lies is truth.”

And Kitchen is not about to stop. “Professionally and personally I’m after truth, and justice, and the destruction of lies that are ruining society. I didn’t become a lawyer to get rich. I became a lawyer to serve my calling to actually help humanity with truth and justice. If you like truth and justice and you want to work for them, one of the best ways to do that is to become a lawyer.”

Idaho Freedom Foundation: School Choice Will End Woke Indoctrination

 

Despite the wishes of parents, Idaho’s K-12 public schools are decidedly advancing woke ideologies. From sexually explicit curriculum to pornographic books in school libraries or changing student pronouns without parental consent, public schools are force feeding children values against their families’ wishes. 

It doesn’t have to be this way. New research shows that education choice could be the answer to reducing wokeness in the education system. 

A recently released study by the Heritage Foundation empirically demonstrates that empowering parents to choose the best education for their child significantly reduces wokeness in schools. 

It is reasonable to ask how education choice could reduce woke ideology given that some elite private schools and schools of choice within the public system (charter schools) are pushing the same radical agenda. Teacher training in universities and accreditation reinforces this problem. If critics are right that parental control over their children’s education makes little to no difference, then education choice policies will not solve this impending problem. Perhaps we’re experiencing market “failure” where the only solution is to further regulate the public school system through bans on critical race theory and gender ideology.

Heritage scholars address this question by examining whether more strictly regulated charter school markets are more woke than less regulated markets. The study uses a unique measurement tool evaluating publicly available parent-student handbooks usage of woke terminology (e.g. equity, gender identity, social justice) compared to levels of government regulation. It found that schools in states with higher levels of government regulation are more woke, even after accounting for partisan leanings of states. 

Essentially, the preferences of government officials are more woke than parental preferences. The market for non-woke education isn’t failing. Rather, there is a failure for the market to exist due to the government imposing preferences on its monopoly system of schools. 

The study also demonstrates that the expansion of gender ideology and critical race theory in schools is occurring against the wishes of most parents, not at their behest.  For example, far-left states that highly regulate charter schools, such as Illinois and Washington, have higher levels of wokeness. Whereas Florida and Arizona, where charter schools are more accountable to parents and have fewer regulatory burdens, have lower wokeness levels. 

Ultimately, government bureaucrats and authorizers act as “gatekeepers” for woke ideology in schools. 

This new research should serve as a cautionary tale to Idaho lawmakers. Education choice policies should avoid regulation and protect private and religious schools from government interference. Parents should be given maximum freedom in deciding the education best suited to their child’s needs. It's simple — when schools are held accountable to parents rather than government bureaucrats, the less woke those schools are. 

Parental empowerment is a viable path forward to help stop the spread of corrupt ideologies in the public education system. In a free market, where money truly follows the child to the school of their parent’s choice, wokeness will be reduced and accountability will increase. Lawmakers would be wise to recognize that accountability begins with parents, not government bureaucrats.

Hell Freezes Over: Los Angeles City Council Cracks Down on Homelessness, Stands up to Antifa Marxists

I have to write it again: hell is freezing over.

The left-wing Los Angeles City Council is actually doing something constructive about the homelessness crisis in the city, i.e. taking steps to protect children, parents, and everyday citizens from the encroaching homeless problem invading the streets, creating unsanitary conditions, and harming the law-abiding, taxpaying residents.

On August 2, 2022, the city council on a 11-3 vote, voted to extend the ban on homeless encampments throughout the city. And they took this much-needed action despite massive, disruptive, even violent protests from Antifa bigots, cultural Marxist haters, and the general sad, sordid assortment of left-wing agitators who live at home with their parents and refuse to get jobs.

Indeed, most of these hateful militants do not care about the homeless. If they did, they would not be fighting to keep them on the street in depressed, broken squalor. They would be fighting to get them off the street and stop enabling them to collapse in utter poverty.

Los AngelesCity Council approves measure to ban homeless encampments near schools

The ordinance amends a Los Angeles law regulating where homeless encampments can be

The Los Angeles City Council approved an ordinance Tuesday prohibiting homeless encampments within 500 feet of schools and day care centers.

This measure is about protecting kids and protecting public health. Think about that when one considers that a host of angry activists tried to shut down the city council to prevent passage of this amended ordinances. Antifa and other Marxist hatemongers in the city of Los Angeless want to endanger children, and they want to make it harder for parents to get quality care for their children. It's just unconscionable how hateful these pro-homeless enablers are!

The measure was passed by an 11 to 3 vote, with Councilmembers Mike Bonin, Nithya Raman and Marqueece Harris-Dawson dissenting.

The ordinance amends a city law regulating where homeless encampments can be. Municipal Code 41.18 bans sitting, sleeping, lying or otherwise obstructing the public right of way in multiple areas.

Every city in Los Angeles County needs to pass a similar ordinance. The city has set up temporary housing for homeless vagrants in the city. There is now no excuse for them to scare children and make the public walkways unpassable.

The council voted 10 to 1 in favor of the ordinance last month, with Bonin as the lone dissenter. However, a second vote had to be conducted on Tuesday for the measure to pass because the initial vote was not unanimous.

In addition to banning encampments near schools and daycares, the ordinance expands Municipal Code 41.18 to include anywhere within 2 feet of a fire hydrant or fire plug, within 5 feet of any operational or utilizable entrance or exit, within 10 feet of a loading dock or driveway or bike paths or other areas within a street.

That is a great idea, too. Fire hydrants must be freely available in case of local disasters or local needs. The homeless have no right to make things more difficult for everyone else just because they have fallen on (or choose to remain victim of) hard times.

It also imposes bans regarding manners that interfere with activities the city has issued a permit for or anything that restricts accessible passage as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Now the Left has yet another problem. For all their talk about fighting "able-ism" and championing the needs of disabled Americans, they now have to figure out how they can care about both the homeless and the disabled, when the homeless encampments are harming the free travel of disabled individuals throughout the city!

The existing law already protects the public right of way within 500 feet of "sensitive" facilities, which includes schools, daycare centers, parks and libraries - although this part of the law only applies if each specific location is designated for enforcement by the council.

The amendment was previously approved by the council's Homelessness and Poverty Committee.

Supporters of the ordinance say it keeps children safe. Councilman Mitch O'Farrell also argued at the council meeting that it is inaccurate to claim the homeless have nowhere else to go. He said the city has several successful and robust programs to help the homeless.

I am shocked that a hard-core progressive like O'Farrell is taking on this issue. Something has really changed in Los Angeles, and lets hope that there is more of it!

"I'm going to stand up for this council," O'Farrell said. "Everyone here is compassionate, deeply caring of people who are the most vulnerable among us. I'm not going to buy into this rhetoric that we're monsters, that we're murderers or anything like that. It's all nonsense. I'm just not going to accept that false narrative any longer. We should never accept it at all."

But Bonin contested that the ordinance is based on a false premise that homeless people are refusing to go indoors and that the city has enough space for them. He claimed that 60% of people living on the streets of Los Angeles cannot find shelter.

"This is not a question of whether or not you approve of having encampments near schools," Bonin said. "Nobody wants encampments near schools or daycares. Nobody wants encampments anywhere."

Mike Bonin is a swamp creature and a total idiot. The voters in his district hate him so much, that they tried twice to recall him. The second effort fell about 100 verified signatures short of success. However, Homeless Mike got the message, and he has announced that he will not run for re-election. Let's hope Gascon gets the message, too.

He said the ordinance was a "distraction from where our focus needs to be," such as making moves to end homelessness.

The measure was approved after Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said earlier this year that teachers, principals and parents have complained about homeless encampments near schools.

Even bureaucratic leftists like former Miami-Dade superintendent transplant Carvalho have had enough. Of course, his interest in this issue has nothing to do with actual regard for the parents and students in the city. This "drastic" action is needed because Los Angeles Unified's school enrollment is plummeting drastically, and he needs to do something to make sure that more kids don't drop out, that more parents don't take their kids away from those awful schools.

"I've seen elementary schools with conditions that none of us as parents would find acceptable for children. Individuals with mental illness, some of them absolutely unclothed, shouting profanities in the listening ear of children," Carvalho told the council at the time.

Remember that Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other left-wing activists think that this kind of perverse behavior is acceptable around children. And they have the audacity to call pro-family activists, patriots, and other common-sense LA County activists "pedophiles and predators." The real child abusers, the real perverts, the real pedophiles are Antifa and their militant enablers.

Those who violate the ordinance face an infraction or citation. But a person who "willfully resists, delays or obstructs a city employee from enforcing this section or who willfully refuses to comply after being requested to do so by an authorized city employee" can face increased fines and a misdemeanor charge.

Final Reflection

It's about time that the city of Los Angeles took on the homelessness industrial complex. So many homeless live in Los Angeles because the weather is good, and the benefits are even better. Instead of solving homelessness, politicians and bureaucrats are subsidizing this problem, inviting more people to live on the street and expect a hand-out, rather than getting their own hands out to help people with a hand-up.

It's really sickening how all of these selfish left-wing agitators go out of their way to put the needs of homeles vagrants ahead of the needs of productive, law-abiding citizens. For the record, I understand that some people end up homeless because of domestic violence issues, but those individuals do not actively remain homeless. They don't want to live on the street. They take every step they can to get off the street and get help.

Most of the homeless are drug addicts or mentally ill. These individuals need help, not enabling. Enforcing the law, protecting the public spaces, enhancing public safety are appropriate measures needed for the well-being of the city of Los Angeles. I am surprised and pleased that the LA City Council is finally--finally!--taking steps to deal with this problem assertively.

Manhattan Beach School Board Member Jason Boxer: Closet Communist

The voters of Manhattan Beach Unified School District need to start paying attention to who ends up on their school board.

Easy Reader News published a very slanted, biased article blasting parents and propping up the school board members because of the growing outrage against school closures, lockdowns, and LGBT-CRT indoctrination in the classrooms.

One of the most noxious facts that they left out of their report is that Jason Boxer, one of the newly-elected school board members, is a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see this profile?

Oh brother! Imagine Barack Obama's "Pajama Boy" with lighter hair, and that's Jason Boxer.

But it gets worse ... much worse.

He's one of the "non-binary" types, and he pushes the LGBT agenda in so many destructive waves. You can see his destructive LGBT promotionalism on his Instagram account. Click here.

Ironically, he prefers "they/them" pronouns, according to his bio, but he also calls himself "a pretty nice guy."

And confused people should not be in charge of young people's education.

But the worst aspect about his tenure on the school board, again, is that he is a card-carrying socialist.

Manhattan Beach residents need to pay attention to their school board races. Perhaps they need to think about launching a recall as soon as possible to get rid of this creepy soyboy.

It is unconscionable how bad it has gotten in local education politics in the South Bay. Card-carrying communists (masquerading as socialists) are seated on local school boards pushing all kinds of perversion under the guise of "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion", etc.

Instead of educating children about the true, full history of the United States, there is a determined push by ingrained Marxists and their teachers' union ilk to push racism and class-ism to further divide communities and the country.

Communism is one of the evilest ideologies in modern history, and to think that today, there are elected officials pushing this wicked madness is just unthinkable, and in the South Bay of Los Angeles County, no less.

Has Jason Boxer ever visited a country run under a communist regime? Cuba? Venezuela? North Korea? Would he like to explain why so many of the citizens in those countries are fleeing those countries to live elsewhere? Would Mr. Boxer (yes, Mister!) like to explain why Communism leaves nothing but destruction and desecration in its wake wherever it pops up?

He owes the people of Manhattan Beach some answers, at the very least.

He is pushing LGBT perversion. Why?

He is pushing Marxist hate. Why?

He does not listen or care about the real concerns of parents and children alike. Why?

Jason Boxer, the Closet Communist, needs to answer for these hateful leanings!

Port of Los Angeles High School Teacher: Communist Radical Rachel Bruhnke

My previous posts exposing bad teachers in Torrance Unified have yielded some interesting responses.

A number or people are quite grateful that I am exposing those indoctrination agents in our midst. I also received some nasty emails from people who think that communistic hate groups like Black Lives Matter and cultural Marxist LGBT ideologies should be celebrated and treasured.

I am undeterred. There are so many people who want to speak out, but they are afraid to. They are afraid of cancel culture. They are afraid to be defamed on social media or in the public square. They do not want someone to say their names

Arthur, there is a teacher at CSULB who is a devout communist.   She lives in San Pedro and she holds communist, pro Castro rallies (when Castro was alive) at a local coffee shop in pedro, and now holds “peace rallies” during Los Angeles harbor fleet week and calls all the navel men and women fascists and baby killers.  She makes a point of influencing young people, high school kids, and has teenagers speak at her rallies.  God knows what she does in private (and masked). 

I don’t think this woman is evil or wishes harm upon anyone (although some of her group certainly do wish harm, one in particular called for the assassination of Donald Trump). I do want her to stop indoctrinating young people and college students. 

As you may know, Project Veritas has uncovered a communist teacher, Gabriel Gipe, in Sacramento and has gotten that teacher fired.  If you are unaware of this recent event, I advise you to check it out on YouTube, there are tons of undercover videos etc. and a really great hour long school board meeting with parents screaming at the school board to get communists out of public education. 

I wish to be an anonymous whistle blower in this case.

All I want to do is send her a message— CEASE AND DECIST and a link to the Project Veritas video of the teacher getting fired. 

You are a well known conservative activist and are in a better position to call this woman out.  I do not want to get Project Veritas involved, at least not yet.  I believe that the threat will be enough. 

A private message and a link the the Project Veritas video could be sent via Twitter or via facebook messenger.  I have no wish to “out” this woman as a Communist on her Twitter or Facebook.

I found the recent Sacramento parent school board meeting inspiring and a good sign that regular folks are getting wise to all this Communist propaganda and CRT bullshit.  Let’s strike now while the iron is hot!

What does she specifically want to renounce about President Ronald Reagan? That he opposed communism:

 According to communists like Bruhnke, those who fought against the Soviet Union were the bad guys. Really. The Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba, and now Venezuela, they are all the good guys, doing good things for their people (rationing, sanctions, massive arrests, beatings in the streets, rampant corruption and poverty), and all the Western countries that speak up for freedom of speech, commerce etc. are somehow the bad guys. Really.

Again, I wonder how many Soviet refusniks, Venezuelan refugees, Cuban immigrants, and North Korean defectors would agree with Brunke's take on communism?

AFA: How the Marxists Could Win America

 

Dear Arthur, Marxists hate America. They hate individual freedom because they believe the state should rule men and women like sheep. They hate our Constitution because it limits government power, when the socialist mindset is to aggregate power. They hate the Declaration of Independence because it recognizes and honors God in its history-shaking propositions – "that all men are created equal, and they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. …" That's why I regret to say that the Marxists are gaining ground in our nation and are closer than ever to overthrowing our constitutional republic. As they continue their march through the institutions of our nation, their latest tactic is to divide the American people into warring factions. Now more than ever, the wedge used to splinter us is race. That said, let me be perfectly clear: All true Christians abhor actual racism. To hate people because of their skin color, to persecute them, to deny them their rights as humans created in the image of God, to treat them unjustly before the Lord – these things have no place in a Christian's life. It might have been in a different context – showing favoritism to those who are rich while disdaining those who are poor – but James makes clear that such partiality makes us "judges with evil motives" (James 2:4). Yet, while many Americans are willing to open the door to an honest discussion about racism, something else has taken the opportunity to slither into the house. Beneath the surface, an evil, Marxist-based ideology is dominating the public discourse about race in America, and you need to be made aware. It’s called Critical Race Theory (CRT). CRT is so sinister that we asked our very own Meeke Addison to address this issue from a gospel-centric perspective. Meeke is assistant director of special initiatives for AFA and co-host, with her husband Wil, of Airing the Addisons on American Family Radio. In A Biblical Response to Critical Race Theory, Meeke offers an informed and passionate challenge to the Marxist perspective that has taken hold in many of the power centers of our culture. In short, CRT promotes the idea that all societies are based on the interplay of oppressor and oppressed. CRT teaches that America’s constitutional republic is built on slavery and oppression of minorities by white people. When President Joe Biden used the phrase "systemic racism is a stain on our nation's soul," he was using the language of Critical Race Theory. So it's no surprise that Max Eden, a research fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, uncovered the following outrageous ideas taught by advocates of CRT: White people should be demonized for being born white. All whites are inherently racist. White Americans should stop acting with white privilege. You see, Critical Race Theory does not see racism as confined to a few “bad apples” but is instead views racism as a product of whiteness itself. And increasingly, the leaders of CRT are seeking ways to teach those lies to our children and grandchildren. A Washington Post op-ed in support of CRT called the discussion over race a "reckoning" for the nation and then admitted that the debate "has reached thousands of U.S. schools." The op-ed applauded what is happening: "Schools across the country are working to address systemic racism and inject an anti-racist mindset into campus life." A teacher in a New York City school revealed that a faculty email chain "received enthusiastic support for recommending that we 'officially' flag students who appear 'resistant' to the 'culture we are trying to establish.'" The teacher said flagged students would include even those who suggested that "we treat everyone with respect." You see, treating everyone with respect does not go far enough; students must capitulate to the Marxist ideology in every attitude and detail. These ideas should be chilling to all freedom-loving Americans. The controversy has led legislatures in six states – Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas – to consider and/or already pass bills that would limit or even ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory in public schools. People are fed up with ideologies that disparage America as a systemically racist country, but folks are also confused about what CRT promotes and whether or not its ideas are biblical. That's why I want to encourage you to get a copy of A Biblical Response to Critical Race Theory. In this two-part video presentation, Meeke clarifies the origins and beliefs of CRT, the dangers of submitting to this ideology, and how Christians should respond to it. And by the way, CRT has even begun to find acceptance in some churches. Most importantly, however, Meeke demonstrates that Critical Race Theory is a threat to the gospel message because it is an unbiblical approach to solving the human problem of sin. In fact, she teaches that CRT is, in reality, "another gospel" (Galatians 1:6) offering a false salvation through guilt, anger, and revenge. So how do we respond? Christians must do what we've always done: Educate ourselves with the truth about the issue. Develop a biblical perspective. Counter its impact with gospel-centered strategies. This is what AFA has been doing for 44 years.
