Montana MassResistance: Senator Bob Phalen, Hero of the Week

State Senator (R-Linday) filed MassResistance's Resolution Against Obergefell.

A local hate rag in Montana called him a villian.


When bad guys speak badly about you, it means that you are doing your job. Hit pieces like this mean that Sen. Phalen is over the target!

Here's the statement, and I have added commentary:

Certain conservatives have really chosen to make anti-LGBTQ ideology a foundational part of their work this session. Our team saw this week just how far legislators will go to undermine the progress we’ve made.

 Good for them. You can't say that you want to conserve anything if you won't restore natural marriage.

Last week we mentioned SJ 15, a joint resolution calling to overturn the ruling that legalized same-sex marriage.

Yes! Obergefell v Hodges is one of the worst decisions handed down by the United States Supreme Court.

If this wasn’t abhorrent enough, the sponsor Senator Bob Phalen brought a collective gasp to the crowd that showed up to oppose this bill. After over an hour of opponent testimony. Sen. Phalen refused to back down from his hateful rhetoric. Instead, he chose to expound on the ‘anglo-American legal tradition’ and his outdated ideas on the sanctity of marriage, at one point declaring the United States Supreme Court overstepped its bounds and should ‘re-look at what they’ve done’.

Hatemongers and other LGBT activists can't stand the truth, and it will always shock them.

Those "outdated ideas" about the sanctity of marriage and our Anglo-American legal tradition are precisely what made our country great! We need to restore those values!

He compared the unnaturalness of queer relationships to shoving a straw up your nose to drink, and said that redefining marriage has hurt children in our state. Those are words we think are appropriate to re-share, as his closing remarks were a string of bigoted comments, only made better by the disgust and snarls from community members still in the audience and the multiple objections from Vice Chair Sen. Andrea Olsen.

 I have to give "Forward Montana" some credit. They recognize that queer relationships are exactly that: queer. They are unnatural, destructive, abusive, harmful, and just plain disgusting.

And yes, undermining marriage hurts children.

There is nothing bigoted about what he said. Only bigots call the truth bigotry.

Not even the anti-LGBTQ Senate Judiciary committee cared for his ideas and voted to table SJ 15. We kindly ask that Sen. Bob Phalen, our Villain of the Week, keep his opinions on the LGBTQ community to himself.

The majority of Republicans supported the resolution, but the real villian of the week, Sen. Sue Vinton of Billings, killed the resolution.

She's a spiteful woman and a bad mother, whose daughter is in a "gay" relationship. Child abuse!

But kudos to State Senator Bob Phalen for standing for truth!

Calls on US Supreme Court to overturn outrageous 2015 Obergefell ruling.

“Gay” State Rep spoke out against it, but normalcy carried the day!

Goes to the Senate in early March.

This week the North Dakota House of Representatives became the second state legislative body to go on record demanding the reversal of the Obergefell US Supreme Court ruling. On Monday, February 24, the resolution passed by 52-40. It followed a near-unanimous Judiciary committee vote,

Last month, the Idaho House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved its resolution by 46-24.

MassResistance’s push for state legislatures across the country to pass our resolutions urging the US Supreme Court to overturn the infamous 2015 Obergefell “gay marriage” ruling is gaining momentum! The ruling was a move by the activist SCOTUS Justices at the time to take away the rights of the states on this contentious issue and simply imposed false marriage on the entire nation. Justices Thomas and Alito have stated that this deeply flawed ruling – similar to Roe v Wade –should be revisited.

These resolutions are not legally binding. They simply urge the Supreme Court to revisit the Obergefell ruling. But they’re a powerful message coming from a state legislature.

Speeches from both sides during House debate

The North Dakota resolution is sponsored by seven state representatives and four state senators, so it already had some momentum. Two members spoke during the House debate, and both sides were heard. But the relative strengths of their arguments were clearly lopsided.

The lead sponsor, Rep. Bill Tveit, spoke first and covered all the bases. He began: “This is based on the laws of nature. It’s that simple.” He read from the Book of Genesis. He discussed Blackstone’s English law commentaries, the Declaration of Independence (“the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God”), and the Tenth Amendment to the US Constitution. He reminded the members that both the North Dakota Constitution and the North Dakota statutes specifically define marriage as consisting of one man and one woman.

He outlined how the Obergefell ruling was deeply flawed on constitutional grounds, and that the 5-4 decision included two Justices (Ginsburg and Kagan) who legally should have recused themselves because they had previously officiated at “gay weddings.” He concluded, “Marriage as a union has never been, is not, and never should be that of a same-sex couple.” It was a very compelling speech.

Next, Rep. Austin Foss, an “out” homosexual who is “married” to a man, stood up and spoke in opposition. He basically regurgitated several well-worn (and easily debunked) emotional mantras and LGBT “marriage” talking points.

He began: “I did not think that less than a year after I made my vows to the man I love that I would have to stand up in front of this body and fight for my rights to exist and be happy.” He talked about spousal benefits, hospital rights, end-of-life rights, and other “rights” being taken away by overturning “marriage equality.”

Then he got into religion. “I don't go into your church or your home and force you to relabel your relationship just because I don't agree with it. … You have every single right to believe that your Creator does not want me to be happy, that your Creator does not want me to love who I love. … But my God loves me for who I am. It’s a message that I’m not welcome here. It’s not Christian-like.”

In the end, it wasn’t a very effective speech for a group who are mostly Christians who had listened to similar LGBT whining for years.

Next stop: the North Dakota Senate

The resolution will go to the Senate sometime in early March. We’re told that the Senate is more conservative (with fewer RINOs) than the House, so the margin of victory is expected to be even greater!

Moving forward across the country

Legislators in ten states are in the process of filing or moving forward similar MassResistance resolutions. We hope to have more exciting news soon. Not surprisingly, the liberal media (and particularly the LGBT media) is not taking it well.

There was one setback this week. On Monday, the resolution fell short of passing in the South Dakota House Judiciary Committee, its initial stop, so it’s done there for this year. It was a combination of having very little time to prepare and lobby, and cowardly Republicans who even ignored the fact that South Dakota had voted for a constitutional amendment preserving traditional marriage. But the sponsor is already preparing for next year.

Final thoughts

Another great victory!

We’ve been pleasantly surprised at the high level of enthusiasm we’re finding among conservative legislators on this issue. They get it – and they’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this fight back against this outrageous injustice perpetrated on society.

As we’ve said before, too many conservative groups focus on “soft” activism or “informing” people – and shy away from bold action. MassResistance is definitely different.

Michigan State Rep steps forward

Last month Michigan State Representative Josh Schriver announced that he will introduce the resolution in this year’s legislative session. That has generated the expected anger from leftists.

The predictable leftist tirades

This is a battle against the use of judicial activism to force radical change. The hysterical reaction by the Left and the mainstream media highlights how crucial that strategy is to their success. They ignore the constitutional, legal, and historical arguments in favor of emotional arguments, LGBT talking points, and accusations of “bigotry” and “hate.” This reveals their realization of how weak and contrived the Obergfell ruling is.

Of course, the gays took to social media with furious anger and profanity in their typical childish manner. But we’ve seen a lot of positive feedback on this in Michigan. People are feeling free to speak the truth again!

Final thoughts

There’s much more to report on this. We are making headway in more state legislatures with this resolution!

This should not be a shock. Throughout human history, the idea of legal “gay marriage” would have been considered completely insane. No one ever considered the possibility. The concept is certainly not rooted in our nation’s (or any nation’s) history and tradition.

Its acceptance today is a product of decades of constant widespread psychological “jamming,” intimidation, and skillful hardcore propaganda. Thus, “gay marriage” is like a house of cards and can be collapsed. If more people were to speak freely and honestly, the concept would once again be considered lunatic and fringe.

Riding on momentum of historic Roe v. Wade reversal – Obergefell may fall next!

ALT TEXT State lawmakers across the country are demanding that the devastation caused by activist Supreme Court Justices be reversed.

MassResistance has drafted text for state legislature resolutions that call on the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse its infamous and illegitimate Obergefell ruling. That 2015 decision forced the idea that the U.S. Constitution requires states to allow same-sex “marriage.”

We have been working with state representatives and senators across the country to introduce a resolution in their 2025 sessions. Legislators in six states are now poised to file them (Idaho, North Dakoda, Montana, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas - see list below), and we are in discussions with several more.

Although these are simply “resolutions” by state legislatures, they send an important public message. They can also get positive momentum moving across the country.

Background

The Obergefell v. Hodges ruling was passed by a slim 5-4 majority of activist Supreme Court Justices.

It has caused immense societal havoc across the country. States have been forced to ignore their legitimate laws and constitutional amendments regarding marriage. Governments, businesses, and even schoolchildren have been forced to accept same-sex “marriage” – and by extension homosexual behavior – as normal, under pain of punishments, fines, and even imprisonment.

The First Amendment guarantees free speech, freedom of assembly, religious liberty, and the right to petition government for redress of grievance. By forcing same-sex “marriage” on the country in this way, Obergefell challenged all those rights.

At the time, MassResistance covered the 2015 ruling very closely and predicted much of what resulted. Here are two of our posts:

A new Supreme Court majority of constitutionalists

Unlike in 2015, the current Supreme Court has a majority of constitutionalists rather than ideologues. And they’re willing to revisit past bad rulings. The recent Dobbs decision overturning the similarly illegitimate 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling has generated excitement that Obergefell might also be overturned.

The Obergefell ruling was clearly illegitimate on various levels.

Ruling was based on a fraudulent interpretation of the Constitution

In order to invent a previously unknown constitutional “right” to same-sex marriage, the 5-4 majority of activist Supreme Court Justices used a strategy concocted by the LGBT lawyers. They redefined the Fourteenth Amendment to allow them to effectively change the definition of marriage from one man and one woman to “two people who love each other.”

You can read the ruling here along with the fierce dissents by Justices Roberts, Scalia, and Thomas.

The Fourteenth Amendment says:

No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The justices in the majority began by stating that homosexual “sexual orientation” constitutes a class of citizen similar to race, ethnicity, or a religious denomination, - rather than a perverted, addictive behavior that causes documented medical and psychological harm.

They stated that “due process” and the “equal protection” clauses in the 14th Amendment are linked in a way that compels the definition of marriage to be altered to accommodate “gay marriage.”

“Gays” are not allowed to marry the ones they love, but heterosexuals are, the Justices argued. Denying them marriage is unfair and irrational and causes them terrible harm. Gays are “demeaned,” made “second class citizens,” and kept “unequal.” They concluded that the 14th Amendment implies that there is a universal right to marry, and it requires that marriage be re-defined across America to accommodate gays.

The activist Justices compared “gay marriage” to the miscegenation laws that barred interracial marriage. But that actually was an issue of “equal protection” It did not alter the meaning of marriage (i.e., require plural marriages, incestuous marriages, marriages to young children), but only the application to a marriage case where the meaning of the word was commonly agreed upon.

The Justices blatantly applied the popular (extra-constitutional) concept of "substantive due process," under which courts may discover and enforce unenumerated constitutional rights.

This absurd and twisted interpretation of constitutional law is simply blatant judicial activism. Marriage (like abortion) is not mentioned in the Constitution, and the Supreme Court has no authority to change its definition to suit a bizarre special interest. A new “right” was invented.

In his opinion on Dobbs, Justice Clarence Thomas stated that the Court's use of “substantive due process” in Roe and other rulings – including Obergefell -- is faulty, and a basis for revisiting those cases. "In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court's substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell," Thomas wrote.

Finally, that sodomy could be the basis for consummating a (same-sex) marriage goes against centuries of legal tradition (and millennia of moral tradition).  Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England (1772), condemns sodomy as “a crime against nature” … … “an offence of so dark a nature” … “the very mention of [it] is a disgrace to human nature” … “a crime not fit to be named.” The Massachusetts statute describes sodomy as “the abominable and detestable crime against nature.”

Two of the Justices voting in the majority legally should have recused themselves

Federal law 28 U.S. Code § 455 states:

Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.

Prior to the Obergefell case, Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan officiated at same-sex “weddings.” This qualifies as a clear conflict and unquestionable bias.

Moreover, Ginsburg told people that the acceptance of same-sex “marriage” reflects “the genius of our Constitution.” She also told Bloomberg Business News that she thinks Americans were ready for gay marriage.

Justice Elena Kagan’s aggressive advocacy for LGBT “rights” went back to her years as Dean of Harvard Law School (2003-2009), and is thoroughly documented in our MassResistance report.

Ironically, a near-universal (and legitimate) interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment’s “due process” clause includes the right to impartial court proceedings.

Thus, like the obviously flawed Roe v. Wade ruling (which invented a “right” to abort an unborn baby), the Obergefell ruling must also be reversed.

Here are the states where legislators have committed to introducing the resolution:

  • Idaho. Over the last four years, Idaho MassResistance activists have been working with numerous conservative state lawmakers on pro-family  bills. One of them, a State Representative, offered to spearhead this effort this year. Here is an early draft of the Idaho resolution.
  • North Dakota. In 2023 we worked closely with a group of legislators to assist with the successful passage of legislation to ban “sex change” procedures on minors. This year, one of them has confirmed that he will file this resolution.
  • Montana. In 2023, a group of state representatives filed legislation to get rid of obscene books in schools and libraries throughout Montana, and MassResistance assisted with its successful passage. We’ve continued working with them on pro-family legislation. This year one of them has agreed to file this resolution.
  • Michigan. For the last two years, since the Democrats took control of the Legislature, we have worked with activists and legislative leaders to stop some of the most horrendous anti-family bills filed in Michigan’s history. During the latest legislative session, MassResistance activists began floating this resolution. One of the younger, more conservative State Reps has announced that he wants to submit this resolution in the 2025 filing period.
  • Iowa: A state senator has agreed to file the resolution.
  • Kansas: A state senator has agreed to file the resolution.

In each of these states, the MassResistance activists and many others will be leading the public outcry for sanity and an end to this horrendous judicial activism.

Other states that may join:

  • We are very close to getting legislators in Mississippi to committing.
  • Several legislators in Wyoming are working on this. Here is a current draft of that resolution.
  • We are also working closely with people in Alabama, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, New Hampshire, and West Virginia. We’re hoping that at least a few of those will join in soon!

Final thoughts

The Left – and of course the LGBT media – is already erupting over these resolutions! That’s actually a good sign. They know this flawed ruling is vulnerable and they are livid that some conservatives are taking an offensive approach.

Them Before Us Statement on Alabama Supreme Court IVF Ruling

Them Before Us is an excellent ministry/non-profit which is fighting to put Them Before Us, i.e. fight for the NEEDS of children ahead of the desires of adults.

Their research and advocacy turned me into an opponent of in-vitro fertilization and surrogacy. Their compiled research and evidence helped solidfy the intuitive truth, that children need their Dad and Mom, not just "two parents," a revelation which correctly undermines the fraud that is same-sex "marriage."

This decision is an important step forward in holding the fertility industry accountable, including their processes which lead to the demise of around 93% of lab-created babies.


Recognizing the humanity of children at every age and stage of development is foundational to justice.


No matter how challenging our personal circumstances, the solution must never be to strip children of their fundamental rights and needs. A just society never insists that the weak sacrifice for the strong. It is adults who must sacrifice on behalf of children.

Anti-Semitic Catholic Fraud E. Michael Jones Caves, Caters to Apostate Pope's Celebration of Homosexual "Couples"

These anti-Semitic "Trad-Con" fraudulent traditional Catholics are just as fake as the liberals. 

 Look at this hateful "Trad Con," who has made a large industry out of hating Jews and pushing "LOGOS", apart from the full revelation of Christ Jesus as Savior: E. Michael Jones is actually OK with the Pope's latest heretic directive.

He is actually justifying it, because some priest whom he "respects" says that it is OK.

NO!

This is all wrong.

And this capitulation by a hatemonger like E. Michael Jones just goes to show that people are more obsessed with what they can see, with authoritarian measures from some power or authority that they can recognize with their flesh, rather than honoring the King of Kings, Lord of Lords who is invisible to our limited, physical eyes.

Save California: Call Five House GOP Members NOW to Change Vote on DIS-Respect for Marriage Act

Call and email the 5 Republican California congressmen who voted for H.R. 8404 in July (before it was amended in the Senate). They need to receive a flood of opposition to the bill's religious oppression and sexual anarchy. Express your righteous anger now.

Tell them, "You didn't know what you were voting on with H.R. 8404. This tyrannical bill attacks the religious freedom of individuals, business owners, non-profit organizations, and even churches that don't recognize or accommodate marriages not between a man and a woman. What's more, by omitting the word "only," H.R. 8404 contains a loophole permitting a person to be in more than one two-person marriage at the same time, which is polygamy. Stand and speak against H.R. 8404 when it returns to the House floor!"


Call and email especially if you live in a foolish "Republican" congressman's district, voted for him, volunteered for him, or donated to him. Tell his office, "If he doesn't stand and speak against H.R. 8404 when it returns to the House floor, he's lost my support."

Montana MassResistance: Say No to Kyle Waterman for SD 4 (Cringeworthy Commercial)

In a previous post, I shared with readers about Montana Democratic State Senate candidate Kyle Waterman, an openly gay, militant left-wing LGBT activist who is so out of place running in Montana, one has to wonder if he is a California-based grifter taking advantage of rich donors for an easy paycheck.


The above photo, in which he is pushing the vile, pornographic book Gender Queer, comes from one of the most cringeworthy campaign commercials I have ever seen. The fact that any politician would be stupid, or sick, enough to campaign on such abusive garbage is just the height of stupid. He is automatically unfit for office.

But the rest of his campaign "commercial" (if you can call it that), gives us plenty more reasons for Montana voters to say NO to Kyle.

Waterman goes out of his way to make himself seem folksy and downhome. He wants to play up his bipartisan credentials. He has too since, he's a progressive (read, communistic) Democrat running for a red state senate seat in the most conservative county in a very red state.

The left-wing activist is eating a carrot. The conservative is ... smoking a cigarette. Really? Wow, there is no bias here ...

Then the commercial points to the "one person" who can heal the partisan divide in the state:

Kyle ... Waterman that it is (as if!)

Here he wears a spiffy checkered shirt, which he probably bought one hour prior, just like Kamala Harris had posed with a brand new apron during campaign 2020. She ended up showing that she had never cooked--and Kyle Water clearly has no experience with the great outdoors.


Waterman the well-coifed cowboy. Are we really supposed to believe that he is a rural type who wants to represent Kalispel?

Throughout the commercial, the actors tell the audience: "Think Bigger, Not Fuller."

What?! 

John Fuller is the Republican nominee, by the way, someone who actually is from Kalispel. Think Bigger, Not Fuller--that's the campaign slogan?

Of course, what's really remarkable is Waterman wants to play up his local credentials, when in reality he is a carpetbagger from liberal enclave Helena.


From what I know about Montana politics, voters in the Big Sky State do not warm up to outsiders and carpetbaggers. It's part of the reason why Greg Gianforte did not win his gubernatorial bid in 2016, and why Matt Rosendale couldn't defeat Jon Tester in 2018. Montanans want native Montanans representing them. I imagine that Kalispel residents want one of their neighbors representing them, too, not some frilly liberal elitist who pulled up stakes to Kalispel because there were too many liberals running for office in Helena.

Oh, and again, that's supposed to be a joke: "Bigger, not Fuller." Cringe.

This is the best that Waterman could do to attak John Fuller? Really?!


The commercial will stick with this stupid schtick through all two minutes of insipid campaign dreck:

"Not Fuller!" (because she's full of carrots, right?)
I can think of something else she's full of ..


And to show that Waterman is the true champion (?) for Montanans, the commercial shows him picking up a piece of paper from a local river.



Are they trying to say that the Montana state constitution is just a piece of paper? Well, that message makes sense coming from Democrats, since they don't have much respect for the written guarantees or the legal traditions which define Americans' or Montanans' rights to begin with.

Again, though, a paper constituion? Really?! I mean, high school kids could have come up with something more imaginative, and compelling!

If anyone needed to "think bigger," it was the campaign manager for this stupid commercial!

One gets the feeling, as one endures the rest of this sappy spot, including the silly jingle probably written by some fifth grader down the street, that the whole campaign is just a flabby vanity project for Waterman.

Why do we need to know that he is "married" to a man?



Why do we need to see nasty stereotypes of conservatives?



Why do we need to see horses pretending to talk?


Did anyone sit back and think "Maybe this is not such a good idea?"

And to really show how this whole commercial exposes what a failed, flimsy self-promotional vanity project is the Waterman campaign, consider these two lines of his campaign song:

Does Kyle Waterman really think that yoga pants and "people who are trans" are the biggest issues on Montana voters' minds?

The pollings and surveys across the COUNTRY show that people are worried about:

1. Inflation

2. Crime

3. Economic growth

Why any politcian thinks show-casing a confused man pretending to be a woman is somehow a winner is just beyond me. And yoga pants? This is a first ... I don't recall any other politician making a scene or a campaign pledge to "PROTECT YOGA PANTS!"

Folks, if you want to think bigger, and think better for Montana, don't think of Waterman.
