Wall Street Journal: Reject Mendacious Menendez, Vote for Bob Hugin for US Senate

After narrowly dodging a corruption conviction, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez faces a re-election dogfight against former Celgene CEO Bob Hugin. The Senator is now lying to voters about his opponent’s business record the way he dissembled about his political corruption.

Democrats always treat a Republican candidate from business as if commerce is by definition criminal, and Mr. Hugin is no exception. The GOP Senate candidate joined the New Jersey-based biotech firm Celgene in 1999 in its infancy and rose to CEO in 2010. He helped grow Celgene into one of the country’s largest pharmaceutical companies.

Celgene’s biggest blockbusters have been Thalomid and Revlimid, which treat the rare blood cancer multiple myeloma and are based on the compound thalidomide. While thalidomide was found to cause birth defects in the 1950s, research in the 1990s suggested it could treat conditions including AIDS.

In 1998 FDA approved Celgene’s application of thalidomide to treat leprosy, which affects about 100 Americans each year. The following year the New England Journal of Medicine published a study that found thalidomide “had substantial antitumor activity in patients with advanced myeloma,” which is incurable with conventional chemotherapy.

The Senator also intervened for the doctor with the Department of Health and Human Services in a Medicare billing dispute that involved reused vials of a macular degeneration drug that put patients at risk of infection.

Mr. Menendez escaped conviction thanks to the Supreme Court’s McDonnell ruling that made it harder for prosecutors to prove quid-pro-quo corruption.

Diane Harkey for Congress: Trump Economy Growing in California

Wages Grew 9.2% in 49th District

In case you missed it, Reuters highlighted strong income growth in over a dozen U.S. Congressional Districts, one of these being our 49th District. Reuters' analysis of Census Bureau data that was released on Thursday shows a 6 percent increase of the median income in 14 battleground districts, more than 1 percent higher than the national median income increase. However, in District 49, the median income has increased by more than 9 percent.  "Reducing the tax burden and regulatory burden on job-creating businesses has created a very strong economy in our San Diego and Orange County District," said Diane Harkey.  Read the complete Reuters article on their website HERE.

After Obama's Sad California Rally, Democrats Should Prepare for a Bad November

The Democratic Party is banking on a blue wave for Election 2018. A few high-profile special elections have gone to Democrats, especially in red areas like Southern Pennsylvania and Alabama. Legislative seats throughout the country in historically red area have gone blue as well. However, special elections differ significantly from normal primary and even general election turnouts. Republicans won a House seat in Hawaii during a special election in 2010. Republicans took back the house in the 2010 Tea Party Wave, but Democrats won their seat back.

For Election 2018, Democrats cannot expect significant gains. Trump has delivered on many promises, and the Democrats have overextended their vitriol. The media can’t cover for their craziness anymore. In fact, they seem more worried than excited about their prospects. Enough that former President Barack Obama paid a visit to Orange County, California to rally for seven House candidates. They are targeting five incumbents and competing for two open seats. Why bring out the big guns when your chances are looking so good? Roll Call even indicated House races in five states, including California, will determine who controls the House next year. But here comes Barry, anyway.

When Obama announced that he was campaigning in California for House candidates, I had to be there. At the last minute, twenty-five of us Trump supporters in the Orange County-Los Angeles County area showed up to make our presence known. The President and his press agents didn’t release the time and location of his rally until two days before. Judging by how small the turnout turned out, it’s easy to see why Democrat organizers were reluctant to offer specifics about the rally location.

Why Orange County, anyway? Why not Los Angeles or San Francisco? Democrats are hoping for gains in this conservative district because Hillary Clinton won a majority in Orange County, specifically in Congressional seats represented by Republicans. They actually think they can flip these seats during the midterms. This logic is flawed, especially since the incumbents far outpaced the Presidential nominees to win back their districts. Incumbency in smaller races helps their chances going forward. Despite all the reports that California is a wasteland of faded liberals, welfare queens, and illegal aliens, many die-hard Trump supporters are fighting to Make California Great Again. Our team of activists has grown to the extent that we have former Bernie and even Jill Stein supporters rallying for Donald Trump and Republican candidates. Some of those Democrats have joined our ranks and want Trump to succeed.

How many people showed up? Despite the long line, the Democratic turnout was pretty sad. For all the tickets which had been offered to see Obama in person, organizers were still giving them away thirty minutes after he had shown up. They couldn’t offer the tickets fast enough, it seemed. What’s worse, the organizers first intended for Obama to speak in one of the larger ballrooms. Then they changed the venue to something much smaller.

The Washington Post reported that a grand total of 900 people attended the rally. Another reporter told me directly that about 750 to 800 showed up. Really? In Arizona last year, 15,000 people packed into the Phoenix convention center, and then there were the crowds outside, both supporters and detractors; in Billings, Montana last week, 10,000; at the Evansville, Indiana rally, 11,500 packed into the Ford Auditorium, with 2,000 more waiting outside, with 7,000 people in Elkhart, Indiana in May. How about the 9,000 who came to the Wilkes-Barre rally in Pennsylvania? Trump draws massive crowds in swing states and red states. I can’t wait for Trump to come back to California and draw an even more favorable comparison.

Of the 700 plus liberals who showed up, most are the abusive activists who have flipped off conservatives or cursed at, yelled at, and overwhelmed city council meetings throughout Orange County over the last nine months. Their vain attempts to stop the growing opposition to California’s odious sanctuary state law haven’t paid off. The frustrated rage of the Orange County (and the California) Democratic Party merely reflects their desperation for Election 2018. Old women in line to see Obama made obscene gestures at us Trump supporters. The younger generation played the race card or called Trump a fascist traitor. None of them could explain why.

In contrast to Trump’s epic speeches rallying the faithful, Obama’s speech was a middling exhortation. As expected, he spent more time talking about himself, including youthful days of deviance when he was caught smoking at Disneyland, when he was forced to leave. Forgive me for asking, Barry, but weren’t you supposed to be “testifying to how wonderful these candidates are”? Democrats are targeting seven house seats in California, although some ambitious activists have included three more long-shots. The Democrats brought him in to bring in money, resources, and volunteers, right?

After twenty minutes of talking about himself, Obama briefly touched on the life and professional history of the featured candidates. Strangely enough, one of the seven didn’t even show up. Another one, Gil Cisneros, has been accused of sexual misconduct, and yet Democrats are ignoring this.  Two of the Democratic Congressional candidates hail from the Central Valley. What were they doing in Orange County? Couldn’t Obama have roused the faithful in Kings, Fresno, and Stanislaus counties? No way, since left-wing Obama would be a massive drag on any Democratic ticket in the Centrist Central Valley. Democrats in that region tend to be more conservative than Republicans in Los Angeles County!

While pundits assume that California Democrats love Obama, a growing number see him as nothing more than a corporate shill who bailed out banks and insurance companies. Bernie Sanders supporters have all but taken over the Democratic Party in California. Obama is not just the past, but a sad reminder of how far the Democratic Party has fallen, and his pitiful Anaheim rally proved these points. When Obama comes to California, and no one shows, Democrats had better lower their expectations for November.

Make California Great Again: Cox Gaining on Newsom in Latest Poll

This news is nothing short of incredible.

John Cox was seen as a nonentity who didn't have a chance after the June primary. Granted, pundits and activists across the country recognized that we need a Republican at the top of the ticket who would ensure a higher turnout across the state and help the down-ticket candidates.

Cox seems to have been MIA for a while.

Hopefully, this is going to change, and with good reason.

The latest polling indicates that many voters are still undecided about Gavin Newsom, and Cox is gaining ground!

Voter Survey Shows Cox Closing the Gap in Gubernatorial Race Against Newsom

SACRAMENTO — A newly released research poll from Opinion Research on Elections and Public Policy shows Republican John Cox is closing the gap between himself and Democrat Gavin Newsom in the race for California’s next Governor.

This is really good news. Who would have thought that this could be done?

Nine-hundred voters participated in the survey between August 29 and September 2.

The results show Newsom at 44 percent, Cox at 39 percent and 17 percent of voters are unsure.

With such a large share of undecided voters, there is a growing change for swing into action and win this fight. The Republican Governors Association is pledging money to help Cox as well as other Republican candidates in otherwise blue states.

The survey also shows Cox is well outperforming his GOP base – fewer than 25 percent of of California voters – and captures a similar percentage of the Latino voters as Newsom.

The two candidates are getting an equal share of the Hispanic vote at this time!

The election for Governor of California will be held on November 6. The winner will assume office on January 7, 2019.

Trump Supporters vs. Barack Obama at Anaheim Convention Center (Full Report)

On Thursday, September 6, the local press finally informed the public where President Barack Obama was going to hold his rally in Orange County. Two days prior, they had informed readers that the former President was coming, but they had no idea where specifically.

I suspect that the press did not record where he was going because his organizers had no idea where to put him. At first they were going to have him speak in one of the large ballrooms at the Anaheim center. Then they ultimately settled for a side room. The first room can hold up to 5,000 people, according to one report.

The number of people who ultimately attended? Between 750 and 800.

Now that is a pretty stingy little number of people, especially for a former president. Obama was supposed to be this big time Messiah for the county, the guy who would bring the hope and change to make everything all well and good in the country.

Not only did that not happen, but many of the Democrats who had supported him walked away, and they voted for Donald Trump. Many of those voters are now fully in the Trump camp and they support Republican candidates cross the board. This development is truly exciting.

So, when we Trump supporters heard about Obama coming to Anaheim, we knew that we wanted to counter-protest.

Crystal Jade helped set up our network of activists, and we showed up Saturday morning right outside the convention center.

We had some new people join us, too, men and women who haven't had the chance to protest with us in the past.

Some of the passers-by yelled at us, but some of them were quite supportive, including residents living across or down the street from us.

One source told us that President Obama was going to drive down Transit Plaza to enter the convention.

I didn't wait, but went to join with another one of our fellow Trump supporters, who was closer to the entrance:

Robert Lauten joined with another Trump supporter to blare out that all of the Russia-Collusion nonsense was going nowhere fast. I can't wait for President Trump to declassify all the FISA warrants and other redacted reports exposing the abusive, corrupt, treacherous Deep State.

For me, seeing the line of Democrats and pro-Obama people was what this was all about.

I love questioning and confronting these liberals on their fanatical appreciation of Barack Obama. Di they forget so quickly that Obama and the Clintons robbed Bernie Sanders?

Most of the liberals were pretty shallow in their attacks against me. The most disrespectful people in line were the elderly women. They would routinely flip me off. Is that how they behave in front of their grandchildren? Let's hope they don't have any!

One of the people in line said that Trump was a traitor. Why? He couldn't tell me.

I saw so many people promoting Gil Cisneros for Congress. This guy has serious #MeToo issues, and former campaign volunteers have called him out on his sexual harassment. I also saw David Min, the rude Asian-American Democrat who ran against Mimi Walters in the primary, and he had also shown up to a few of our protests outside of Mimi Walters' office earlier this year.

He didn't have much to say when I mocked him for losing big time in the primary. "That's what you get for not talking to your prospective constituents."

Claudio, the staffer who works in Congressman Lou Correa's office in Santa Ana, was also there. He was really scared when he saw us Trump supporters. He walked away as fast as he could, then buried himself in the line into the Convention Center room.

Then some of the Brown Supremacists showed up! They went to counter-protest our counter-protest! FUNNY!

They made little difference.

It's so strange how the left wants to smear Trump supporters as a bunch of racist white supremacists.

Our group of Trump supporters showed far more diversity than the Democrats lining up to see Obama. Many of us were more than happy to speak with the press and with other people lining up or waiting to get inside.

One lady, born in France but living in the United States, argued with me about health care, and she said that we should have a health care system more like France. There are two aspects to the French system which should be adopted: the medical professionals often bring the emergency room to the patient, in the hopes that they can resolve the issue fully at the person's home. That's a wise move which saves resources in a hospital for those who really need it. The French health care system is also tort averse, in that people cannot just run to court and sue every time something goes wrong health wise.

The reason why Kaiser Permanente provides quality health care at a price which many people can afford is that they resolve health issues and lawsuits through alternate dispute mediation. They have also stayed out of the Obamacare insurance markets, which jacked up the prices while taking away choices.

The lady from France was more respectful than most of the people in line. I saw some of my more friendly political opponents there, including Tom the Vietnamese American, who was born and raised in Whittier, CA.

Another lady called me a racist because I was confronted the Brown Supremacist bigot Robert "Naui" Hernandez. About ten minutes later, she came back to me to ask a serious question. I told it was not OK for her to call me "racist", and she acknowledged that was wrong. Then we had a very civil, productive discussion about health care issues. She told me about her father, who had passed away from cancer. I told her about my Dad who has been able to stave off serious cancer issues, too.

Final Reflection

I sent this message to a friend of mine after our Trump counter-protest to the Obama rally:

It went so well! I have never had so much fun in in so many months. All of these silly liberals were lined up to go into this very little room. The Anaheim Convention Center had originally set aside Ballroom E for Obama, but the numbers that came were much smaller than anticipated! Ultimately about 700 people attended his little rally in a little room.

Major fail! I don't think people realize, but a lot of people don't like Barack Obama and the Democratic Party anymore. They see him as way too corporate. I had so much fun on the outside triggering and trolling some of the Liberals, many of whom could not explain why they hate Donald Trump. There were other people however, whom I had very civil discussions with. I enjoyed talking with them. All the emails, photos, and videos are going to be uploaded in the next 24 hours. I am so tired right now. I have to rest, but thanks for reaching out.

We assembled a pretty decent team of Trump supporters despite getting information about the details of this event at the last minute.

We had a lot of fun.

I liked that we had a diverse group of people show up, and were willing to do on an early Saturday morning, to boot. One of the reasons why I had come to this event was to see how many people would actually turn out to see former President Barack Obama.

How staggering it was that so few showed up to see this has-been. His legacy has all but disappeared after less than two years. The hope and change which Obama promised, Trump has delivered for the American people. The voters in this country rejected the regressive leftists bigotry of the Democratic Party and their increasingly socialist leanings. If the Democrats don't learn from history and pay attention to the fact that their numbers are dwindling across the country, they will probably face in deeper losses going into November.

I sincerely doubt that Democrats are going to pick up the requisite number of seats needed to gain the House Majority next year. The fact is that they are not properly targeting the right seats. The radical progressive base is turning off mainstream voters, many of whom now have new work and better pay. The more wealthy the average American becomes, the less likely they are to support tax hikes, regulatory burdens, and rampant assaults against their individual liberties.

OC for Trump: Good Report for Election 2018 in California

A few observations (of my own and what other booth staffers said) at the Orange International Street Fair:

I did a 5 hour stint on Saturday at the Fair and helped take down the booth Sunday night. 

In addition to the “Trump Accomplishments” and “Dem’s bills out of Sacramento” poster/handouts (I'm attaching those, for those of you I didn't already send to, use if you want-in color & B&W-I compiled the lists-Stella & Janet edited & Stella formatted), we also had a sheet with endorsements and Prop recommendations on candidates and propositions from the Rs (after an update on it, I’ll send it around). I brought, altogether, 450 copies (double sided of the ‘poster info’) and there were only about 50 left over. People were really interested in BOTH handouts!

Overall, the crowd was more ‘mellow’-we had very FEW negative comments from passersby-especially compared to last year. Met some RABID Trump supporters, of ALL ages ! One guy said he wished Trump wouldn’t tweet—I said with the way the media is, if he didn’t tweet, we wouldn’t know what was happening  AND no matter what, you have to look at what he’s accomplished—he agreed! The phrase “Trump keeps his promises” REALLY resonates well!!

There were 3 young staffers from Royce’s office-they helped directing people to the booth-they were great—I told them of our many rallies at Royce’s office. I was told that other official’s office were contacted but didn’t send anyone to help at the Fair.

I pushed Meuser/Bailey/Roditis, saying they did well in the Primaries and we have a chance if we get everyone out to vote. I couldn’t really promote Poisner—not a Rep—but I said most those bills on the poster were written by Ricardo Lara—we MUST defeat him in November. 

We had a number of Democrats wanting to get info—they are fed up with things like the train and gas tax and illegal immigration issues. I keep saying that the “traditional” Dems HAVE to be sick of what’s going on in their Party!

NO ONE knew about Mueser’s 5,000 mile bike ride—see below for the little display I made (I was in a hurry making it—had it all affixed/taped and Darrell noticed the big sign behind Mueser in the picture had the first few letters of his name cut off—I hadn’t intended that, of course—and what was left read “USER”! Too late to re-do—so I stuck the campaign pin over that area!) People were SO impressed with his feat---WISH we could have had some media coverage!

All in all—I really think there’s HOPE to get at least a few important seats: (SofS/AG/Controller/InsComm)!!!!
