Oklahoma MassResistance Pushing Obergefell Resolution!

In the Oklahoma Legislature: MassResistance’s Obergefell resolution has the votes to pass, but RINO Senate leader is blocking it.

Senator blocking it was primaried last year by her local GOP.

MassResistance activists in her district are lobbying hard to let resolution proceed.

Urgency as session concludes at the end of May. A big battle!

 May 24, 2025
ALT TEXT More than half of the Oklahoma Senate are co-sponsors of the resolution! But one terrible RINO in leadership is blocking it.

The MassResistance push to ultimately reverse same-sex “marriage” is successfully moving across the country. Shockingly, our resolutions in state legislatures get blocked not by leftists, but by RINO Republicans. (That happened in Montana, where the Republican legislator who buried the effort admitted she has a “married” lesbian daughter.) Oklahoma is the latest battleground.

Background

As we’ve described, the 2015 US Supreme Court 5-4 Obergefell ruling that imposed “gay marriage” across America was deeply flawed constitutionally, and two of the Justices who ruled in favor should legally have recused themselves. Justices Thomas and Alito have stated that the Obergefell ruling should be reviewed (as happened with Roe v. Wade).

MassResistance has drafted a bold resolution for state legislatures across the country to pass, urging the Supreme Court to revisit the case. It has passed the House of Representatives in two states and several other legislatures are in the process of acting on it.

Introduced and poised to pass in the OK Senate – but blocked by a RINO

Oklahoma is a true “red state.” Last month, in commemoration of Easter, the state House of Representatives passed a resolution proclaiming that “Christ is King.” So, the normal definition of marriage is hardly controversial there.

On May 1, 2025, State Senator Dusty Deevers (who is also a Southern Baptist pastor) introduced the MassResistance resolution as Senate Resolution 8.

ALT TEXT The main sponsor, Sen. Dusty Deevers, is the real thing! We wish there were legislators like him everywhere!

The 48-member Oklahoma Senate needs 25 votes to pass legislation. Sen. Deevers’ resolution has generated great enthusiasm, and has 25 senators as co-sponsors, so it would certainly pass. It should be on the road to victory.

But it is being blocked by the Republican Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Julie Daniels (R-Bartlesville). The legislative session concludes at the end of this month, so the fight is quickly heating up.

Sen. Daniels’ constituents angry she is blocking the resolution

This is not playing well back home. This resolution is very popular in Sen. Daniels’ district. Last month, her own county Republican Committee overwhelmingly voted to endorse it.

Sen. Julie Daniels is now more unpopular than ever in her district.

Sen. Daniels lives in Bartlesville, which has a very active MassResistance chapter. They have flooded her office with calls, but (as of this writing) she refuses to say why she is blocking the resolution. And that makes her constituents even angrier!

ALT TEXT Bartlesville MassResistance activists protest outside of a Drag Queen event for children in the town. (Yes, it's even come to Oklahoma!)

Her conservative constituents want this resolution fairly voted on in their legislature, and are outraged that she’s the one standing in the way!

This isn’t the first time Sen. Daniels has run into trouble back home. Her RINO stances have apparently been bothering folks for some time. In June 2024, she had to beat back three challengers in the primary. (Unfortunately, the conservative vote got split because two additional challengers had jumped in.) Fortunately, she is term-limited out and can’t run again.

Media going nuts

Even in Oklahoma, the media leans far left. Not surprisingly, across the country they’re all reporting this commonsense resolution as a threat to democracy and human rights.

National media

Oklahoma media

The national LGBT press is especially steamed:

But there is some fun conservative reporting on this:

The Dissenter: Oklahoma Senator and Baptist Pastor Introduces Resolution to Overturn Obergefell “Senate Resolution 8 is essentially a manifesto of resistance, a line drawn in the cultural sand. It’s Oklahoma’s way of saying, ’Enough.’”

Final thoughts

This resolution has attracted a lot more energy and enthusiasm across the country than we anticipated, especially among state legislators. In a growing list of states, they’re ready to file it next session. It’s exciting. People have had enough! The LGBT propaganda about this being “settled law” is simply untrue.

But we also hadn’t anticipated that the RINOs in “red” states would be among the biggest impediments. This is a big problem over many important issues. Conservative voters need to be informed about their candidates!

The “gay marriage” fantasy will eventually be revealed as a fraud. This fight is not stopping!

Letter to the Editor: Oklahoman Describes Illegal Alien Nightmare

Arthur:

Just wanted to say love what you do Arthur much respect.

I have personally moved three times over the last twenty years are so because of illegals. And that’s in Oklahoma. They come in and ruin decent neighborhoods. This last so called dreamer lived across the street from me for almost 8 years and we always got along pretty well. Then Trump announced he was running and I was always watching his rallies on tv and pretty sure that pissed him off.

Anyways this man shot 4 rounds out of his pistol one night in my front yard and threatened me saying he was gonna kill me. I called police while he jumped in truck and left the scene. A few minutes later I seen his wife in the front yard picking up shell casing with a flashlight in one hand and a six month old child in the other. After I filed a report with police a Detective called me several days later and I did not push the issue hoping he would just leave me alone. 4 months went by and nothing except dirty looks from across the street. I can live with that I thought.

He then just showed up to my door one day and I thought he was just wanting to apologize so I said Thomas come on in how are you doing. Like I said we had always got along. He then pulled out a hand grenade and told me he was going back to Mexico and did not give a f..k. He then started calling me a all kinds of names  and when I asked him to leave he would not leave. I had put a shotgun in my den after the other incident with the threats and gun. When he would not leave and I got the chance I grabbed shotgun and told him to get the hell out of my house. He looked at me and said you think that scares me. Then he went to his truck and got a pistol and stood in my yard in broad daylight saying come outside.

Several neighbors saw everything yet none wanted to get involved. After this I called the detective and told him what happened he had me come in and tell him everything. Bomb squad guy came in and asked me a bunch of questions and wanted to know the lay out of his house which I told them. They said they could not tell me when but they were on it. At 4:30 am the next morning the swat team with the armor truck with helicopters and about 40 police officers raided his house. Giving orders  thru a megaphone.

The Illegal Alien who harassed Mike Underwood

They arrested him and charged him with threatening with a explosive device and other charges his bond was set at one million fifty thousand dollars. He was unable to make bail and at the preliminary hearing I think that’s what it’s called I showed up to give testimony and they offered him 10 years and told him if he went to trial they was going after a full 20 year sentence anyways he took the deal. His wife showed up to testify against him also the detectives told me they wanted to help her stay in the country for helping them. He will have to do at least 80 % of his time and will be out in another 6 and a half years are so. Also the name I had known this man by for almost 8 years was not even his real name. I really do not know why I am telling you this stuff just wanted you to know that I appreciate what you do fighting on the front lines ever single day.

Sorry for the spelling. God bless all of you guys.

Despite Setbacks, the Fight for Our Constitution—and Constitutional Carry—Continues

Ending her last year in office, Oklahoma Governor Mayor Fallin signed off on conservative, essentially non-controversial legislation, including bills that would allow the placement of the Ten Commandments on public property. That’s fine, since there is no clause in the United States Constitution which requires an arbitrary wall of separation of church and state. She also signed off on legislation to defend adoption agencies’ right to decline release of children to certain guardians for religious reasons. Christian adoption agencies should not have to compromise their views on natural marriage or biological/gender identity.

However, one of her few vetoes included SB 1212, legislation which would enact constitutional carry in the Sooner State. This was a bitter disappointment. Sadly, this basic right could not have come soon enough for Second Amendment activists and concerned citizens in general. The bill passed by veto-proof majorities, too. Oklahoma legislators went into recess for the rest of the year one day after passing the bill. With two-thirds approval, the legislators could call for a special session (there’s no way that Fallin would call a special session to override her veto), but that outcome for that extraordinary measure looks quite unlikely.

Even though this unnecessary delay on constitutional carry was a sad setback, one which shouldn’t be surprised, especially for those following Fallin’s pragmatic (read “Establishment”) streak. This Second Amendment reticence has gripped a number of states with GOP trifectas or GOP legislative supermajorities facing a Democratic governor. They still won’t get this common-sense reform passed into law. Republicans control both houses of Congress and the White House, but the US Senate won’t move on national reciprocity at all (H.R. 38, Hudson), either. There’s still time, Washington D.C., and the rising chorus of federal lawmakers demanding that GOP leaders forego the August recess has grown. Will they summon the courage for one more legislative sprint to get national reciprocity on the books?

But let’s get back to the Oklahoma failure, OK?

What gives? Why would ruby-red Governor Fallin drop the gun on this winning reform? Her press release was the usual “I support the Second Amendment, BUT” pablum:

“Oklahomans believe that law-abiding individuals should be able to defend themselves. I believe the firearms requirement we currently have in state law are few and reasonable.

Of course Oklahomans support the Second Amendment. The supermajority of their legislators pushed the legislation through, responding to the will of their constituents and heavy lobbying from pro-Second Amendment groups. The expansion of any right goes beyond the reason of elected officials or popular masses. It’s a natural right enshrined in the United States Constitution: “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” What’s the point of a right which faces numerous hurdles, exceptions, and loopholes? No government has a right to stymie that.

Senate Bill 1212 eliminates the training requirements for persons carrying a firearm in Oklahoma. It reduces the level of the background check necessary to carry a gun.”

These concerns are tiresome and misplaced. A firearm is a tool—for protection, sure, but a tool nonetheless. I don’t need a license to purchase pepper spray, or to cook in my kitchen or going swimming in the ocean. Furthermore, more people die from poisoning or in vehicular accidents than from firearms.. Do states pass licensure requirements to cook in the kitchen or go swimming, since there is danger and possible death associated with those scenarios, too? The main counter-argument  focuses on state requirements to obtain driver’s license. If people want to drive a vehicle on their own property, they wouldn’t need a license, but since motorists are 99% likely to use public streets and highways, the state governments have the right to require drivers to use public property and engage in public use. Besides, the United States Constitution does not establish a right to drive a motor vehicle, and the states retain the right to regulate that privilege under the 10th Amendment.

As for carrying a firearm, the greater danger lies with the criminals who run guns and commit other crimes. A training requirement is not going to prevent bad people from getting guns, but it certainly slows down law-abiding citizens from exercising their God-given rights.

“SB 1212 eliminates the current ability of Oklahoma law enforcement to distinguish between those carrying guns who have been trained and vetted, and those who have not.”

Fallin’s “law enforcement” excuse draws from concerns raied by police agencies like the Oklahoma City Police Department. Some Republican leaders are so beholden to law enforcement leaders and unions that they will compromise on individual rights. I spoke with two deputies in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department about limits on firearms protection and concealed-carry laws. In California, individuals cannot carry weapons of any kind into a city council meeting, a restriction which oftentimes placed my fellow activists and me in a precarious position. Left-wing thugs don’t care about such rules. Why couldn’t we carry a firearm if properly licensed? I sounded off on my frustration with the “may-issue” mentality in California.

The LA County deputies’ response floored me: “We don’t like guns. We would prefer that people didn’t have concealed-carry.” My reaction to that remains: to hell with your preferences! The Second Amendment is a right, regardless of the ideal conditions or limitations desired by law enforcement. Again, the best defense against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun—and a good guy who is not afraid to use it. Such was the failure of the Parkland High School scooting, which provided a convenient excuse for Iowa and South Carolina’s legislatures to stall efforts on constitutional carry this year, too.

Next year should promise victories for constitutional carry. Oklahoma will have a new governor, most likely a Republican, and all the current contenders urged Fallin to support constitutional carry. Other states will have gotten past the media frenzy following the Parkland massacre—hopefully. The fight for full restoration and exercise of our Constitutional rights—including constitutional carry—continues.

Rep. Tom Cole is Wrong About the Nightmare Kids: No DACA, No Amnesty

Congressman Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma) just announced on CNN that the illegal aliens under the DACA program deserve to stay in the country. He actually shared that they deserve--yes, deserve--legal status.

Here's the whole clip from CNN:

Now, that word "deserve" is really offensive to use in connection with illegal aliens, regardless of their age, or what circumstances brought them into the country.

The ones deserving in this country are American citizens, the men and women who pay taxes and obey the laws. The ones especially deserving are our veterans.

This Congress lives in nice, ruby red Oklahoma. He has no idea how destructive rampant illegal immigration and mass migration will be to this country.

He should see what illegal immigration and amnesty has done to California.

Call Congressman Tom Cole's office, and make it very clear to him:
