Effective Activism: A Reflection

I have been reflecting on what constitutes effective activism for the last few months.

The world has gotten darker and crazier, but that is not an invitation for all of us to just sit back and do nothing.

Since 2014, I have been heavily involved in local, state, and even national activism.

I worked with pro-American groups like We The People Rising to stop illegal immigration and mass immigration, both of which were pushing away the needs of Americans and undermining the healthy sovereignty of America.

I also focused a great deal on ending the abuses of union power in local and state governments. Right-to-work laws need to be enacted as quickly as possible throughout the country.

Last of all, and most importantly, I have been working heavily on the fight against the normalization and proliferation of homosexuality and transgenderism. These are perverse behaviors propping up destructive, harmful ideologies, and they need to be stopped. Now we witness hardened LGBT activists forcing these perverse lies on children in the public schools, and they are bullying adults in the public square. All of this must be stopped.

At any rate, I have engaged in activism of all kinds, and I have organized people to fight different issues. The more work that I have done, the more I have learned to discern which actions work, and which do not. I also noticed how elected officials seemed to react different ways depending on which types of activism people were involved in.

Which efforts actually yield results? Is it really worth our time to set up flags and signs on a street corner, when politicians will just continue to engage in the terrible policies we want them to stop?

In February 2019, I attended a Remembrance of Life for Deanne D'Lean, a very creative activist and poster-maker who attended many pro-America rallies, fought hard against illegal immigration, and worked her best to stop the lawlessness that had become all too pervasive in the state of California. We all reminisced on what a great fighter she was, and we hoped to carry on her spirit and her legacy in the fight to stop open borders and reckless disregard for the rule of law.

I then spoke up, and I made a pointed criticism: are we really making a difference? Our numbers are not growing, either. What do we do about this?

Some of the members of the team were a little defensive about these points. Others agreed that we needed to be more focused to be effective. What are we trying to fight? What are our goals, and how are we trying to move the needle for more victories in the future?

In short, are we really making a difference?

I had to submit to the team, that We the People Rising was not making a difference. Showing up to rallies and holding signs, yelling at bad politicians and embarrassing crazed leftists on one's smartphone are not really effective means for change. The bad politicians continue doing bad things, and all we got was frustration in return.

Unlike the other members of the team, I was busy signing people up, taking steps to start building numbers, contacts, future activists. This approach was more effective, I felt, in getting people involved, to do more than just show up at city council meetings and yell at bad politicians.

During the heydays of fighting the California Sanctuary State Law SB 54, I called city councils and county boards throughout the state to go on record opposing SB 54, and furthermore to make it clear to the state leadership that those jurisdictions would not comply with the lawless outlaw policy of shielding illegal aliens within the state. I wanted to do more than just send a message of opposition. I liked what Los Alamitos was pledging to do, i.e. refuse to comply with the law and instead continue their ongoing relationship with federal law enforcement agencies.

In short, I wanted to see movement, momentum to stop these bad laws and get good laws, policies, or at the very least non-compliance in place.

So, you can see that activism for me is about results, not just actions. It's about real outcomes, not just rhetoric. What's the point of protesting if you cannot stop the bad policies? We want to make a change, get better people elected, make a real difference, not just make some real noise.

So, with this analysis in place, I wanted to discuss this deeper in a balance of contrasts.

Congressman Paul Gosar v. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene

Paul Gosar is outspoken. He is not afraid to give out really strong America First rhetoric. He speaks to key conferences, he reaches out to young voters, he wants to get the next generation fully engaged to take on the corporatist, globalist cabal which has become all too pervasive in Washington DC.

And yet, I don't see him really doing much to stop the flow of madness pushed by the current Democratic majority. Yes, he puts out some mean memes, and he says some tough stuff, but what else is he doing?

In contrast, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has been using every parliamentary tactic at her disposal to slow down business in the House of Representatives. She has repeatedly protests the COVID-19 restrictions, and she has worked with her colleagues to defy those ridiculous rules in turn. She has gone to great lengths with the media to expose the plights of the January 6 prisoners, the vast majority of whom should be released immediately.

She is also networking with potential candidates across the country, hoping to get more elected MAGA candidates to the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. She doesn't just introduce legislation, but uses every resource she has to push for commonsense reforms that are good for the people, which put America first.

I see her doing stuff. I see her trying to accomplish key goals. I see her fighting with the regressive left every way she can, and I also see her taking on and trying to take down RINOs in her own caucus. She is planning ahead, wanting to advance a larger agenda.

Every Congressman should be doing what she is doing. It's not enough to tweet the right things and speak at the right conferences. We need Congressmen who want to stop the bad stuff and pass the good stuff.

Alex Stein

Alex Stein Taking on Ted Cruz and Dan Crenshaw

Alex Stein is a fiery YouTube/Social Media personality. He is not afraid to get in politicians' faces and confront them on bad votes.

But one has to wonder: how effective is it to get politicians a little flustered, when nothing changes in their voting patterns?

Alex Stein confronted US Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Dan Crenshaw at the Texas GOP Convention earlier this year. Yes, he made loud protests at their tables, denouncing them for voting to send more money to Ukraine, while doing very little for American citizens.

However, his blustery approach with Ted Cruz backfired. Cruz sat calmly, then parried him with some quiet words, then said "God Bless You." That exchange made Cruz look good, and it made Stein look bad.

And I have to ask: did that little tantrum in front of the US Senator stop any bad votes in the United States Senate? Did it change any policies?

I ask the same questions regarding his interactions with Dan Crenshaw. Indeed, Eye-Patch McCain is an embarrassment to the state of Texas and to the United States. He is a frequent face at the World Economic Forum, and he is pushing a globalist agenda, undercutting the rights of American citizens all while flashing his veteran status, as if that makes him immune to criticism.

But one question I have for Alex Stein: did you support Crenshaw's primary challenger this year? Did you attend his town halls and find out how to get other voters to mobilize against this fool and get him out of office?

If there are no moves to threaten politicians' actual power, it's very easy for them to pat these social media influencers on the head, or curse them under their breath, but ultimately to ignore them, to ignore us. Politicians will not take us seriously if they feel that their power is not being threatened. If they are not losing money, votes, or reputation in the eyes of their voters, they really don't care about us.

And that leads me to the next comparison ...

We the People Rising v. Kevin De Leon and Antonio Villaraigosa

We the People Rising and other LA County MAGA activists crashed the Santa Monica Democratic club meeting in the city's library in May 2018. Two major candidates spoke at the event: US Senate candidate Kevin De Leon, the State Senate president pro tem at the time; and Antonio Villaraigosa, the former mayor of Los Angeles.

Both of them were running as outsider candidates against the established incumbent (Dianne Feinstein) and heir apparent (Gavin Newsom).

De Leon and Villaraigosa were not really phased by our presence in the audience, and at one point De Leon even mocked us as his "groupies." This was really frustrating.

By and large, the answered all the questions in the usual left-wing manner. They wanted to open up the borders, decriminalize "homelessness," and they wanted to raise taxes and push for a greater government presence in our healthcare system.

By and large, they did not care about our outrage against illegal immigration and open borders. Such issues are a mainstay for the California Democratic Party at this point. It's really disturbing stuff.

But ...

I was the first one to ask a question that Kevin De Leon by surprise. At the time, he was still roommates with State Senator Tony Mendoza, a relentless womanizer who got caught up in the #MeToo scandals that had been rocking the halls of Sacramento. I confronted him about not doing anything to help the women who have been harmed and abused by staffers and legislators in Sacramento.

That issue really bothered De Leon, and he began sputtering and struggling to defend himself, and he went to every length he could to show that he had distanced himself from Mendoza and that he was also committed to doing everything possible to protect women in the state legislature. For the first time in memory, De Leon was afraid of what the conservative activists had to say.

Then another one of the MAGA activists confronted Villaraigosa about the needs of California's veterans. The former mayor did everything he could to prove that he wanted to do what was best for the men and women who had fought for this country. He lingered over that question and made sure that he could answer it every way that he could to assure the audience.

Why was it that on those two questions, the two candidates got worried and all bent out of shape? For once, they actually cared to make sure that We the People were satisfied with their answers. Why did they care? Because those issues, women's rights and the care for veterans, were key issues that differentiated them from their establishment challengers, and those were issues that the Democratic regulars were also focusing on.

In other words, they feared the potential votes/money they would lose if they did not handle those issues properly. Activists need to change strategies to force bad politicians to do good things in the future based on issues that immediately touch on their distinct voter base. They don't care about illegal immigration, but they do not want to be viewed as too soft on women's issues, on fighting sexual harassment. Conservatives may have to hone their attack on those kinds of issues, even if they are not the most pertinent to our specific cause.

The Blueprint: How Liberals Campaign v. How Conservatives Campaign

The final thoughts that I want to share come from my reflections on the book The Blueprint.

This fascinating read details how four left-wing billionaires collaborated effectively with liberal activists in the state of Colorado and flipped the state legislature and then the US Senate, House seats, and Governor's races to the Democrats.

Colorado had been a reliably red state for decades. Then all of that changed in 2004, when George W. Bush successful captured the state one last time for the GOP (until 2022), but down-ballot Democrats decimated Republicans in the state legislature, flipping the two chambers to Democratic control for the first time in decades.

It was a political earthquake which a lot of people did not see coming. How did the liberals do it?

They set up massive political, cultural, and media organs to push their agenda. They targeted key seats that were on the margin, which could have been flipped with a 1-3% higher turnout. They didn't get caught up in trying to flip statewide offices until later election cycles.

They approached the campaign and election process like a business. They assessed where would be the best places to invest money, which candidates to support, where could they target voters to ensure just enough of a turnout to flip a seat, and which seats to flip in order to get a governing majority.

They approached campaigning like a business.

In contrast, conservatives tend to campaign and donate like ... liberals! They focus on what makes them feel good, what will get the best headline, or what will ingratiate them to future prospective business interests. They don't campaign and invest like activists, but rather they treat politics as an entertaining hobby. That kind of politicking simply does not work.

Activism, elctioneering, winning the vote and the fight, all of this requires real strategy, a focus on what will help our side gain the most power to make the most gains and do the most good. This kind of thinking needs to guide conservatives and their strategic efforts going forward. This is the kind of activism that needs conservative grassroots need to invest in.

Statement to Los Alamitos City Council: April 16, 2018

I understand that this ordinance is focused specifically on Los Alamitos, but we all know that its implications extend far beyond the boundaries of this small city.

This city council, and the supporters of this motion, made history on March 19th, 2018. It was the Second Shot Heard Round The World, a signal of the Bear Flag Restoration which is returning to the state of California. We the People of the United States hold the power in this country. It does not belong to government officials, corrupt bureaucrats, the Deep State of California or Washington DC.
We the People needed to form a more perfect union. In the state of California, this union is under unprecedented assault, and it’s time for us to stand up and fight back. Every elected official takes an oath to uphold and defend the United States Constitution, the founding charter of our country, the supreme law of the land. Any state law or constitution which contravenes the United States Constitution is null and void.

As I had shared on March 19th, the perverse doctrine of nullification died on the fields of Appomattox Court House in 1865. It will not revive here in the state of California.  The state legislature and Governor have no right to bully counties and municipalities with contradictory and unconstitutional demands.

SB 54 is patently unconstitutional, depriving us citizens of a republican form of government. 80% of respondents in a poll reject sanctuary state lawlessness. It endangers our police, our citizens, and our businesses. It asserts a narrow political agenda to turn California into a third-world shithole, with Sacramento Democrats lording their power over the rest of us.

Angry De Leon! Very Angry De Leon!!

The Brown Supremacists, or Brown Nazis, who have been pushing this illegal alien, open-borders nonsense want nothing more than to see every law-abiding taxpaying citizen pushed out of the state or pushed into the sea. They rant and rave about “stolen land! Stolen land.” The truth is, their hateful, delusional, and dangerous views would have been classified as a mental disorder twenty years ago and they would have been committed to a mental institution. Perhaps there is still hope for that happening.

The city of Los Alamitos must officially adopt this ordinance and signal to their constituents and to the state that we will respect one rule of law. This correction to California’s rampant, anti-constitutional lawlessness must be confronted and must be ended.

As for the scores of college students filling city council chambers and defending SB 54, they refuse to realize that they are defending violent criminals. They are defending evil people who have already separated families forever, like Marcello Bisarello, who was murdered in 2015 by a drunk-driving illegal alien who had been deported five times. Kate Steinle, Ronald De Silva, and an average of 25 Americans a day have been separate from their families by illegal alien murders. Where were their sanctuaries? What about his dreams? This corrective is long overdue, a bear flag restoration for California.

This lawlessness ends today.  As for State Senator Kevin De Leon, if he really wants to stop your efforts, why hasn’t he directed lawless attorney general Xavier Basura I mean, Becerra to file a lawsuit against this and every other city standing up to SB 54?

It’s because they can’t, because they know they have neither the law nor the facts on their side. Not only do I encourage this city council to take this action, you are required to. You have an oath to defend, and if you will not follow through, then you should resign.
Let’s Make California Constitutional Again.

West Covina: Major Victory for Californians Despite Small Setback

The West Covina City Council Meeting on April 3rd was crazy!

The city council chambers was packed, with police lined up along the walls. The seats were filled, and people were standing around the seats, too. The West Covina Fire Marshall arrived on scene to make sure that the exits remained opened. The city council also set up chairs outside the main chamber so that more people could sit and watch.

I had dashed to three other public meetings on April 3rd. I was not even sure I could get to the West Covina meeting on time or have the chance to speak during public comment.

But I made it.

The drive to West Covina from Fountain Valley was not as bad as I had feared. In fact, driving from Orange County up the 605 was one of the easiest drives I had ever taken. Everything fell into place so well.

I walked toward the city council chambers on the third floor of the building. Lo and behold, the Brown Nazis, including Veronica Tomas were there. One of them pushed his camera into my face, but I got passed them very quickly. They were furious, their faces covered in a demonic smile hoping to intimidate every citizen seeking to petition the government with a redress of grievances. They could not stop us.

I spoke with two officials outside the chambers. They informed me that there was still space, but it would probably be standing room only. Incredible! Yes, there were Brown Supremacists and open border bigots in the audience, but most of the people seated in the audience favored the rule of law and Mike Spence's agenda item to introduce discussing on opting out of SB 54.

I walked in quietly, meeting other friends from Riverside as well as Los Angeles County. There were faces in the city council chamber whom I have seen at other events, but I would have never expected to join us at the meeting.

Yet there they were! I was so impressed.

What an incredible victory! Check out the video segment I captured:

https://youtu.be/WM6An8tJlcQ

No matter how heated the audience grew, West Covina Mayor Mike Spence continued diligently to ensure that everyone spoke their peace, whether pro-illegal or pro-law enforcement.

The incredible number of patriots in the audience was really heart-warming. Members of the city, including residents who had never attended city council meetings before, stepped up and expressed their clear outrage with illegal immigration ravaging their communities and overwhelming our environment and way of life.

Some of the highlights of the evening included a statement from a West Covina resident who came legally from Canada. Fernando Garcia of Los Angeles told the audience about the dangers of sanctuary city policies. His daughter was molested by an illegal alien. Terrible.

Then Angel Mom Agnes Gibboney lit into the city council and the Brown Supremacists in the audience, demanding that they consider her life and her family, not the "plight" of illegal aliens. She can only hug a cold marble stone in a graveyard, while illegal alien families can embrace their children on the other side of the border in their home countries.

In spite of the open border Nazis who tried to flood the city council chambers, the patriots outnumbered and out-organized them. Such movement and charisma!

Oh, and how can I forget? State Senator Kevin De Leon arrived in West Covina precisely to speak out against any agenda item to end or upend SB 54. The illegal alien movement must be terrified if they had to bring in big guns like Kevin De Leon to stop any action on the item. Let's face it: the California Democratic Party will do anything they can to prevent any municipality in Los Angeles County from adopting actions similar to Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos, or Hesperia

But the better angels of Los Angeles County, the men and women fed up with rampant lawlessness and illegal immigration in this beautiful state and once-beautiful county, simply will not tolerate these arrogant elites having their way on our dime.

We are not going to tolerate it.

It's time to ramp up the pressure, everyone. We the People of the State of California have every right--and now mandate--to stand up to the anti-constitutional lawless of the California political class and put an end to this rampant illegal alien pandering in our cities and county.

The West Covina city council opted to do nothing on the SB 54 Agenda item request from Mayor Mike Spence. He made a motion, but none of his colleagues seconded the motion. Manifestly unacceptable.

--------

[Subject Heading]: West Covina City Council: Your Decision is Cowardly -- This Matter is not Settled at all

Dear West Covina City Council:

Aside from Mayor Mike Spence, I am disgusted and disappointed with your decision to take no action on SB 54, aka the California Sanctuary State law.

Each one of you took an oath of office to uphold and defend the United States Constitution as well as the state constitution.

However, when state law conflicts with and even seeks to frustrate the US Constitution or federal law, it is clear based on the Founding Charter of this country that federal constitutional and statutory mandates supersede state law:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

You took a stand when you took that oath of office.

If you will not comply with that oath, then you need to resign from office and allow law-abiding West Covina citizens to take your place on the city council dais.

You must return the agenda item to address and denounce SB 54.

File a lawsuit against the state of California, or file an amicus brief with Huntington Beach's lawsuit.
Issue a resolution condemning SB 54 and upholding your oaths of office and the rule of law.
Direct your police department to cooperate fully with ICE and all other federal law enforcement officials.

I assure you, members of your community, the state of California, and voices around the country will continue to demands that this matter be taken up once again. You work for the citizens, not the other way around. If you can't follow the law, then your tenure in office should be terminated immediately.

Sincerely,

Petition: Fight Loony California and Their Lawless Sanctuary State

Arthur Christopher, the “loony Left” in California has gone way too far.
Ultra-liberal Governor Jerry Brown has turned the whole state – one of the largest in America – into one huge “sanctuary” that protects illegal immigrants who come here to commit crimes.
And in Oakland, the radical left-wing mayor tipped off illegal immigrants living there, alerting them of an impending immigration raid and warning them not to open their doors.
This is CRAZY.
Laws in the United States of America are supposed to protect the law-abiding CITIZENS of the United States of America. President Trump agrees! And he wants to crack down on lawless “sanctuary cities,” but he needs your help to pressure Congress! Help us push back against loony (and dangerous) California liberalism with your urgent gift of $15, $30, or $50.
After eight years of “Open Borders Obama” in office, the sad fact is there are criminals within the border of our country, committing their violent deeds with no fear of deportation thanks to “sanctuary” policies embraced by radical liberalsPlease help us end the madness and crack down on “Sanctuary Cities!”

Embittered Anti-Trump Union Hack Running to Replace Sanctuary State De Leon in the State Senate

This sign is actually broadcast in Downtown Los Angeles right now:

This is treason in itself.

Donald Trump is our President. Even my state senator Ben Allen had to admit it. No one can run away from the truth.

Now she wants to launch sedition against the White House? Sorry, but last time I checked, the state of California is still very much part of the United States of America. The lawlessness of corrupt Democrats must cease, and they need to respect our President or leave the country.

This Maria Durazo Labor puppet wants to push everyone around, now, and she wants a seat at the state senate table. We can do better than this, everyone. We must stand up to this abusive bully and make it very clear: Respect our President!

Labor heavyweight Maria Elena Durazo will run for Kevin deLeón’s state Senate seat

Maria Elena Durazo, who served for years as the leader of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor before stepping down in 2014, said Thursday she will make the jump into electoral politics and run for state Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León's seat representing parts of Los Angeles when he is termed out in 2018.

She was waiting her turn, just like everyone else. De Leon is termed out, but we know that she was plotting for this seat for at least 8 years.

Durazo was widely considered one of the most powerful figures in Los Angeles politics when she gave up her labor post to become a vice president of Unite Here, a union representing hospitality workers in the United States and Canada.

"Unite Here" may become disunited everywhere once the Supreme Court strikes down agency feeds in Janus vs. AFSCME. Labor abuses must come to an end. If labor unions are doing the right thing for their workers, then why do they force people to join and/or pay union dues?

The county labor federation reached new heights of power during Durazo's tenure, helping elect a bevy of labor-friendly candidates to the Los Angeles City Council and the county Board of Supervisors. She also scored numerous legislative wins, including a minimum wage law requiring some large Los Angeles hotels to pay workers at least $15.37 an hour.

More unemployment, higher taxes, declining quality of life, mass immigration (legal and illegal(: someone tell me how any of this is good for Los Angeles County. We are witnessing the slow and discouraging decline of the County of Los Angeles.

But Durazo, who has served as a vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee since 2013, had never before displayed a desire to run for public office, opting instead for a behind-the-scenes role.

Why has she changed her mind? She wants more money!

"It was not a long time coming — in fact, I've always felt very strong about not doing that," she told The Times on Thursday. "At times people urged me or suggested it, but I always felt it wasn't the place for me."

She credits the election of President Trump with changing her mind.

Oh brother! She wants to blame President Trump for everything. I say more people should be THANKING Donald Trump for all the great work he is doing for the country.

"I think things are changing in this country; obviously the Trump administration is doing things I consider very bad," she said. "I just never imagined him getting elected and pushing for these things."

Durazo is the first candidate to announce a campaign to represent the 24th State Senate District, which De León, a fellow Democrat, first won in 2010. The diverse district stretches from East Los Angeles through Boyle Heights, part of downtown Los Angeles, Highland Park, Mount Washington and Eagle Rock, into Silver Lake and Echo Park. Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Armenia and Thai Town also fall within the district.

Nearly 60% of voters in the district are Democrats, and 27% are registered as having no party preference. Just 8.9% are Republicans.

We need more Republicans in this district, and we need more Republicans explaining to the Democratic voters that the labor unions have turned into regressive leftist puppets which care more about getting rich off working people, than helping working people get rich.

Durazo said she will highlight her accomplishments during her time with the labor movement but also take into account the viewpoints of business interests.

LOL! Right, like pushing entry-level workers out of their careers. Sure. That is going to resonate.

Free healthcare? No such creature. Everything costs something. Do they really think that they can continue to pull the wool over people's eyes? The whole universal healthcare scam is falling apart in other countries. Canada's single payer program is a total failure, with black market private health care clinics operating all over that country.

Then there are the Canadians who go to the United States, and now we have American citizens going to Mexico seeking better health care, including right to try as well as other methods with lower costs.

"I've invested practically my whole life in Los Angeles and California to change the environment, to make it a positive environment for progressive policies and at the same time not be too crazy — and take in business needs," she said.

Business needs the government to get out of the way. Progressive politicians are making the government bigger, which is making businesses and their profits much smaller.

Though she is making her first run for public office, Durazo said her years listening to workers and organizing them will help her as she builds a coalition in the district.

She needs to put out to pasture. She has no business being in politics. We need to see the labor unions broken down and respecting the interests of individuals, especially the workers.

"I don't pretend to know everything; I don't pretend to be the great savior," she said. "I do think I come with experience, with helping people help themselves."

Final Reflection

The fight is ending for the regressive left, even in California. I don't care how vocal or abusive these labor leaders become. The President is in charge, and all the talk about disobeying President Trump is not going to work.

California cannot secede, because as a country they have a final crisis far worse than Venezuela. What kind of money will the state of California create apart from the United States?

Bye-Bye DiFi? California Democratic Party Refuses to Endorse Feinstein Re-Election Bid

Now this is stunning. I saw this article on my smartphone news feed. US Senator Dianne Feinstein not only could not achieve a full endorsement in her re-election bid for office, but her challenger Kevin de Leon defeated her by nearly 20 points, even though neither candidate reached the necessary threshold of 60% of party delegates.

National Public Radio reports:

Before U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein could finish her speech at the California Democratic Party convention Saturday, the music began playing to indicate she had used her allotted time.

The convention delegates, grassroots left-wing activists can't wait to get rid of her. She is too "Republican" for their taste, which is hard for me to believe, since she is a full-on baby killer, family destroyed, gun grabber, and corporate Swamp Creature.

She kept talking. The music got louder. "I guess my time is up," Feinstein conceded as what sounded like a 1940s movie score continued playing.

Without missing a beat, supporters of her opponent, state Sen. Kevin de León echoed her statement in a chant: "Your time is up! Your time is up!" — a not-so-subtle reference to Feinstein's 25 years in the U.S. Senate.

Ouch! How about that? Grandma DiFi is getting heckled by the younger generation. They want her gone. She is too nice, in their estimation.

It was a sign of things to come. The grass-roots Democratic activists gathered at the party's annual convention in San Diego this weekend implicitly rebuked the state's senior U.S. senator by denying her the party's endorsement for her re-election bid.

Feinstein finished far behind de León, the top Democrat in the state Senate. De León received 54 percent of delegates' votes to just 37 percent for Feinstein. It takes 60 percent to receive an endorsement.

That is staggering. Sneaky Dianne Feinstein is finding herself forced more and more to the left, and even then she is still not with it. Such is the result of one election after another into higher office.

While the lack of an endorsement certainly won't keep Feinstein off the ballot, it's a sign that grass-roots Democrats are eager to supplant leaders who are seen as too moderate and willing to compromise.

Democrats are delusional. They are pushing a leftwing agenda that is so out of touch with reality, that registered Democrats in California as well as all over the country actually lined up to support Donald Trump. They want jobs back. They want the borders secure. They want to know that the United States will remain a viable country for their children and their children's children. The progressive lunacy of the current party, combined with their long record of corruption and graft, has turned off so many left-wing Democrats that they have abandoned the party altogether.

Democratic Party activists have never really been Feinstein's people. In 1990, when she was running for governor, she came to the party convention and expressed her support for the death penalty, eliciting boos from the liberal crowd. She lost the party endorsement to John Van de Kamp but got the nomination anyway, ultimately losing the November election to Pete Wilson.

30 years ago, the political divides among Democrats was effective enough to guarantee Republicans a seat at the general election table and into statewide office. Now one has to wonder if there will be enough division among the two ravening factions of the California Democratic Party to allow any kind of opportunity for a Republican to get into the Top Two for statewide office!

Feinstein has always been a little to the right of where the party's activists are. Now, at age 84 and in her final campaign, Feinstein is once again at odds with progressives, despite her efforts to move left by more strongly opposing President Trump's agenda.

She said the Senate Appropriations Committee, which she sits on, would never approve $25 billion for Trump's wall along the Mexico boarder. But minutes later, de León's team sent texts noting that Feinstein had just voted for exactly that as part of the "Common Sense Coalition" immigration plan that failed to get through the Senate.

Wow! What a stunner! DiFi did vote to fund the wall. Kamala Harris and the two US Senators from New Mexico rejected the Schumer-Rounds legislation because of the wall funding, which really wasn't funding because of the byzantine regulatory burdens imposed on yearly border appropriations.

The bill would not only have provided a path to citizenship for so-called Dreamers, people in the U.S. illegally who were brought here as children, but it also included $25 billion for the wall.

Feinstein also reminded the crowd of her longstanding leadership on gun control, including her success against long odds at getting an assault weapons ban signed into law in 1994.

She is a has-been to the Democratic Party. She has not authored any substantive legislation since her 1992 election. Not only that, but the assault weapons ban is now considered too conservative for Democrats. They want an all out gun ban, and they want the full repeal of the Second Amendment.

The Democratic Party has no real sentiment for constitutional government anymore.

In his speech to the convention, de León reminded the crowd that his opponent hasn't always been a reliable liberal. "Democrats, you'll never have to guess where I stand," de León said before noting that he has championed issues such as raising the minimum wage, single-payer health care and the environment.

Dianne Feinstein opposes single-payer healthcare, and she has expressed deep skepticism for Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All proposals.

"DiFi, just DIE already!"
She also opposed Kevin de Leon's sanctuary state legislation, although she has also voted against blocking grants to sanctuary cities.

State Senator Kevin De Leon has repeatedly hammered Feinstein over her ongoing support for Middle Eastern Wars, including Bush's War in Iraq. She also supported President Trump's limited action Syria early last year, and that upset regressive leftists, too.

"Moral clarity is always doing the right thing when no one is watching," he said. "And it should never take a primary challenge to stand up for California values."

California values, indeed. You mean, like the values which led to the murder of Kate Steinle?

As leader of the state Senate, De León has had his own problems of late, most notably criticism of his slow response to the sexual harassment scandal in Sacramento. And while an endorsement from the Democratic Party would have provided a boost, his campaign is also overshadowed by Feinstein's huge advantages in name recognition and campaign cash. A recent poll from the Public Policy Institute of California had her leading de León by 46 percent to 17 percent.

DiFi has big money and a big name. Will Republican support in the general election help push her over the top? Will it moderate her voting record if she gets re-elected?

Despite the boost for De LeÃ³n, the vote is in some ways a loss for him. Democratic campaign strategist Katie Merrill says he needed the endorsement much more than Feinstein.

Such is the power of incumbency.

"He was such a narrow path to the Senate, and he had to have this Democratic Party endorsement," she said. "This was the one strategic thing he need to accomplish here and he did not accomplish it."

Reflection

What a dilemma for Republicans in the state of California. There is a plethora of US Senate candidates of all backgrounds running for US Senate. I know of at least four Republicans, none of whom really have a chance. These campaigns are novelty bids at their worst. Elizabeth Emken was the only Republican on the ballot in 2012, and the Los Angeles Times hated Feinstein enough that they featured an extended interview/report on her.

Emken still didn't have a chance. Her campaign supporters had to sell her law signs to make up for the loss. Pretty dispiriting. That was in 2012, and since then Republicans have fled this state in record numbers, while illegal aliens, welfare queens, and public sector unions gather massive strength and power.

What we are looking at going into 2018 is another battle between two Democrats. There is not one single Republican US Senate candidate who stands out. Not one. What are we to do?

Called It! State Senator Touchy Feely Mendoza Resigns

It happened!

Not as soon as I had expected, because I had claimed that he would step down by Christmas 2017.

But State Senator Tony Mendoza has left the building.

He resigned today, as he faced a vote of expulsion this week for sexual misconduct allegations, allegations which a separate panel deemed to be true.

I wonder how many more Democrats are going to get sucked down into this #MeToo controversy next?

State Senator Kevin De Leon, who faced fire for sharing a house with Mendoza, moved out immediately, and even responded to charges I had issued his way at the Santa Monica Democratic Club a few weeks prior.

It's staggering that he held on as long as he did, yet the rule of law and process must prevail. False allegations are a serious matter, too. But the independent panel determined that Mendoza more likely than not engaged in the perverse behavior, preying on women in his office, and inviting them to his home.

Very inappropriate behavior. When will people start to realize that it is not wise to engage in proximate or intimate working conditions with the opposite sex? No one should trust his or her flesh.

No one. Never meet with a staffer member alone, or even a child. It's just not wise. But wisdom is in extremely short supply in Sacramento, and the moral climate is worse, far worse.

The Associated Press reports:

A California state senator has resigned over sexual misconduct allegations just ahead of a possible vote by his colleagues to expel him.

Spokesman Robert Alaniz says Democratic Sen. Tony Mendoza stepped down Thursday. He's the third California lawmaker to resign over sexual misconduct claims in recent months.

In his resignation letter, Mendoza called the Senate's process "farcical" and unfair and is still considering running for re-election in the fall.

Wow! The arrogance is stifling. Do they have any shame? At all?!

An investigation found the Los Angeles-area Democrat likely engaged in unwanted flirtatious and sexually suggestive behavior with six women.

He denies wrongdoing but has apologized if he made anyone feel uncomfortable.

Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon, Mendoza's former roommate in Sacramento, had been pushing to impose the most serious punishment in the Senate's arsenal for the first time since 1905.

This was not the first time that the state senate sought to expel a member. They were about to do the same thing to Roderick Wright (D-Inglewood) in 2014, when he was convicted of 8 counts of voter fraud and perjury. He ended up resigning, too, with a special election to follow in December that same year.

Final Reflection

It took what it took, but one more pervert is gone from the California State Senate. But there is still so much work to be done. We need to get GOOD people into office. We need to ensure that righteous people, men and women of faith and honor, represent Californians in Sacramento.

Or this #MeToo corruption will never end.
