Voters face a very important choice at the polls this Tuesday at all levels of government. Whether it's putting a congressional check on the Biden administration's open borders woke socialism, keeping Florida free under DeSantis, or preserving our community's small town conservative Christian character by electing John Labriola to Inverness City Council, a lot is at stake this Nov. 8.

I am the only candidate for city council who has pledged to oppose overdevelopment and to stop using our local tax dollars to promote leftist agendas such as "LGBT Pride Month" celebrations in our public libraries. We don't need more traffic and crime coming to our area, and we certainly don't need rainbow-flag-draped sexual orientation displays and drag queens overrunning our community. These things undermine our values and quality of life; they do not make us stronger.  My positions have earned me the hatred of the Citrus County Chronicle and some of their friends in power. But I don't care what they think because I want to represent the people, not the liberal elites. We can't afford to be complacent by sitting out this election. Protesting is Nice, Canvassing Makes the Difference

 

Conservatives campaign like liberals, and liberals campaign like conservatives.

When liberals campaign, they focus on which races are winnable. They think about how much money they have, where to spend their money, and which seats to target so that they can win.

When conservatives campaign, we do things that feel good, without thinking about a larger strategy. We go for the headline, for the feeling, for the pizzazz.

Who wins elections, who changes the culture, and who doesn’t?

Conservatives, it’s time for some tough love, and let me start with an example.

I received a number of texts and posts that Hanoi Jane Fonda was going to rally supporters to help Katie Porter at her Huntington Beach campaign office today. Sure, it would feel good for conservatives and patriots to show up and make noise, protest, and heckle Jane Fonda.

But it’s more effective for us to canvass, walk precincts, get votes for Scott Baugh. He’s the guy running against Katie Porter, and he has a really good shot at winning the seat!

What happened this morning? Jane Fonda didn’t even show up! Guess what, MAGA patriots? Katie Porter took played you. While 20 to 30 people were protesting outside of Porter’s campaign office, she had 100 people cavnassing in the district to get her votes!

If you really want to scare a politician, you need to get people to vote them out. The better use of everyone’s time would have been canvassing for Scott Baugh, whom I support 100% for Congress. Is he perfect? Of course not, but Katie Porter is evil. She wants to defund the police, open up our borders forever, tax us into never-ending inflation, kill babies up to the day of birth, and push the LGBT agenda on our kids forever. She needs to be stopped.

But you are not going to stop her just protesting outside of her campaign office.

Conservatives, it’s time to get real. If you really want to make a difference, you need to support politicians to remove the bad politicians. You need to push good policies at the local and state level. IT’s not as exciting at first, but it’s more meaningful and effects greater change for the good.

I can’t think of anything more exciting than to see on Election Day, Scott Baugh polling 5 points ahead of Katie Porter. She needs to be fired from Congress.

While conservatives want to have protesting on street corners or trolling liberals and progressive activitists, those some actiivsts are busy writing postcards, registering voters, walking precincts, making phone calls.

Look, I am not saying “Don’t hold rallies. Don’t protest bad politicians.” What I am saying is that these public events should not be an end in the themselves.

AOC came to UC Irvine two weeks ago. I was there to record the event and protest her. I admit that. But you know what the left-wing activists were doing? They were registering voters! They were signing up volunteers! They were promoting their candidates!

We need to see everyone of our public events in the same light. Stop acting like liberals, folks. Campaign like the conservatives that you are, and let’s get good people to replace the bad people.

The midterm elections are in less than a week. Afterwards, no matter which party wins control of the next Congress, the current crop of US Senators will return to Washington DC for a lame duck session where they will take up HR 8404, the grossly misnamed Respect For Marriage Act. This legislation would impose same-sex ‘marriage’ on every state in the nation even if state voters have explicitly voted to define marriage solely as the union of one man and one woman. Help NOM Stop HR 8404 But HR 8404 could do even more damage as it opens the door to forcing every state to accept polygamous marriages, men marrying child brides and every other perverse type of ‘marriage’ if judges or politicians in just one state legalize it there. Idaho Freedom Foundation Sounds off on Brad Little and Ammon Bundy

Contrary to what you may have heard from the legacy leftist media, neither the Idaho Freedom Foundation nor Idaho Freedom Action has endorsed Ammon Bundy for governor. The Idaho Freedom Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Idaho Freedom Foundation does not endorse candidates for elected public office, and while Idaho Freedom Action, a 501(c)(4), can endorse candidates, it typically does not do so. Idaho Freedom PAC, an organization that shares IFF’s values and vision for the future of our beloved state, did endorse Bundy. But IFF/IFA and IFP are not the same. They have different leadership and different donors. It’s irresponsible of the press to report misinformation connecting IFF or IFA to the Bundy endorsement. However, IFF and IFA can and do comment on the candidates for governor and other races, and I’ll do so now, because it’s important. I expect that when the votes are counted on election night, Brad Little will still be governor of Idaho. The problem is that Little will have won through a campaign of dishonesty and misdirection. He likes to travel the state and claim that he never shut down the state’s economy during the Covid pandemic or that any of his policies resulted in the permanent closure of businesses or the arrest of people for not wearing masks, congregating at church, or going to a city park with kids. He’s lying. Equally important, Little, when faced with a $2 billion budget surplus, called for a fraction of the money to be returned to taxpayers and proceeded to surrender to the socialists at Reclaim Idaho by dumping more than $400 million into Idaho’s failing government schools. He did so by putting lawmakers in a box by giving them just one take-it-or-leave-it bill to consider in the September special legislative session. These are facts worthy of debate, yet Little has refused to commit to a debate on his record, either in the primary or the general election. That’s terrible for voters. Bundy raises important objections to the status quo in state government -- such as the continued existence of property and income taxes. And recently he began an ad campaign suggesting that as governor, he’d help welfare recipients who don’t want to work leave the state. Whether his plan is executable is not of huge concern. But the fact is, Bundy raises an important issue that has never been properly addressed: Too many Idahoans are dependent on government programs and payouts. This is not sustainable, as we’ve mentioned many times before. Moreover, government dependency is not healthy in society. These government programs disconnect people from communities, charities, and churches in a way that destabilizes society. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a candidate for governor talk about this issue, and so Bundy is saying something refreshing. Bundy isn’t perfect either. His support for Black Lives Matter a couple of years ago is cringy, as was the scene of the Idaho State Police wheeling him out of the Statehouse zip tied to a chair. That, too, is worthy of discussion. Most importantly, today we have two very different candidates for Idaho governor with two very different visions for the future. The role of the Idaho Freedom Foundation is to research public policy matters and communicate our findings to the public. The role of Idaho Freedom Action is, as suggested by the name, to put our ideas into action by engaging with the public. Endorsement of candidates is not what either organization does. Political opportunists and the media attack IFF and IFA because they’d rather not talk about the real issues facing real Idahoans. That’s why they’ve used a tenuous connection between Idaho Freedom PAC to attack IFF/IFA. This is all a distraction so that you focus on the issues they think are important and discount our ideas as “extremist.” In fact, we believe our ideas are the ones that will save our state and save America. There’s nothing extreme about ensuring Idaho doesn’t go the way of California, Colorado, or Oregon. And no amount of whining by washed up leftists will stop us from bringing about the conservative change we all believe in.
