Back in July 2022, the Kootenai County, Idaho Library Board made news when our local activists finally had enough of the obscenity and pornography on the children’s shelves. The majority of the five Library Board members were hard leftists. The Library Director was a smarmy pro-LGBT social-justice warrior.

The Library Director had just finished defending a library book about 15-year-old girls who were molested by their fathers and became prostitutes. She said that parents’ complaints were “out of context” – a talking point frequently used by pornographers and LGBT activists.

One of the mothers stood up and lit into the Library Director. Among other things, she called her a pervert and a purveyor of smut and pornography to innocent children, and said she was “complicit in the degeneracy and degradation of society.”

At the next meeting the Library Director announced her resignation. The following month, the Library Board approved a new collection policy that banned some “obscene” children’s books while continuing to approve books promoting homosexual and transgender-themed sexual behaviors.

But the Board then replaced the exiting Library Director with an even more aggressively leftist and pro-LGBT director. This was clearly meant as a reprimand to the parents.

MassResistance continued working with them. We provided them advice and strategy, connected them with people in other states, and helped them work through ideas.

Electing a new conservative Library Board …

So in 2023, following a months-long education campaign across the county by the activists, the two leftist Library Board incumbents were voted out. They were replaced by people who had campaigned on dealing with the explicit materials.

Conservatives now had the majority, and the new Library Board Chairman was outspoken about removing all the obscenity that taxpayers were paying for.

… And changes take place!

The new Library Board got right to work:

• Within months, the new Library Board followed the lead of other libraries across the country and cut ties with the horrible pro-LGBT American Library Association.
• They are now drafting a very strong collections policy – modeled after the one in Campbell County, WY – that will keep taxpayers from having to pay for any harmful sexual material for children and teenagers.
• They have also started working on policies which allow them to evaluate, document, and discipline the Library Director if she defies the Board or does not comply with the policies.

The Left gets fried over pro-family changes

Not surprisingly, these changes have faced considerable pushback from local leftists. The local newspaper has repeatedly attacked the new Library Board majority as “far right.” Both of the former leftist Board members who lost the 2023 election have continued attending Board meetings along with other local leftists to complain. One has even threatened litigation against the new board.

But the new Library Board’s conservative members have stood tall. And local activists also attend every meeting to vocally support them.

The local grassroots group has continued to review what the Library Director and staff are bringing into the library to promote to minors – and report at the Board meetings. This has rattled both the library staff and upset the leftists.

More resignations!

The boldness of the new conservative Library Board and the relentless pressure by the local activists to have a “normal” library is having an effect.

Over the last month, two branch library directors and the library system’s communication specialist have resigned. And we suspect more will follow them. In addition, when the new policies are implemented, most people believe that it’s only a matter of time before the leftist pro-LGBT Library Director will be on her way out!

The road to having a “normal” library now is clear!

Final thoughts

Just a few years ago all of this would have seemed impossible in the Kootenai County library system. The leftists outnumbered conservatives on the Board 4-1. They were entrenched, arrogant, condescending, and unwavering. But focused activism can accomplish great things!

And it’s just as important not to allow the attacks from the Left (whether in person, online, or through the local media) to affect your resolve. These people are paper tigers. If you stand up to them they become surprisingly weak.

Idaho MassResistance Worked with State Legislators to Stop Sexual Perversion and Mutilation in the Gem State

Idaho legislature cuts state library funding over obscene books for children. MassResistance worked closely with key legislators.

 The bill to keep obscene material from children in schools and libraries passed the House overwhelmingly. But then the RINOs in the Senate blocked it. So conservative legislators fought back!

On the last day of the legislative session, conservatives in the Idaho Legislature cut nearly $4 million from the state’s library funding. They also created a legislative working group to protect minors in libraries from obscene material.

This was done in reaction to the fate of two important bills to protect children from the LGBT movement that had passed the House. RINOs (“Republican In Name Only”) in the Idaho State Senate leadership killed the bills without even giving them a hearing. Idaho MassResistance activists worked closely with conservative legislators throughout the process.

Two years ago – landmark legislation in Idaho

Two years ago, lawmakers in Idaho reached out to MassResistance for help to successfully pass into law two key bills derailing the transgender agenda in the state.

As a result: (1) Idaho became the first state in America to keep males out of women’s and girls’ sports. (2) Public documents such as birth certificates and drivers' licenses must reflect the person’s biological sex, not a contrived “gender identity.”

Iin addition to working with lawmakers, MassResistance also helped counter a massive propaganda campaign from the LGBT lobby and pressure from large corporations opposing these bills.

This year: Two more bills to protect children

This year, another group of Idaho legislators and activists asked MassResistance for help in passing two more pieces of legislation:

1. H675 – Ban chemical and surgical sex mutilation of minors for “gender identity” purposes. (Passed the House; killed in the Senate)

Children across the country have been horribly disfigured by this medical quackery. The bill would have provided criminal penalties for taking children out of state to undergo these procedures.

Idaho MassResistance activists worked with sponsors and other legislators. They also gathered key expert witnesses, including physicians and people affected by “transgender” surgery, to testify at the public hearing via Zoom.

 Dr. Quentin Van Meter, nationally known endocrinologist and expert on this subject, testifies in favor of H675.

MassResistance’s influence was definitely being noticed in the Idaho legislature. At one point during the public hearing, a Democrat State Rep. grilled one of the supporters of the bill demanding to know, “Are you familiar with a group called MassResistance? Did they play any role in reviewing this bill, drafting language, providing any of the terminology?” (The person said he knew about MassResistance. But he said that we had no role in actually drafting the legislation, which is true.)

2. H666: Repeal the obscenity exemption for schools and libraries. (Passed the House; killed in the Senate)

Decades ago, most states passed laws exempting schools and libraries from the obscenity laws meant to protect minors. This was done so schools and libraries could reference legitimate artwork from earlier periods which include nudity. (Venus de Milo or Michelangelo’s David come to mind.)

But in recent years, radical adults have been stocking those shelves with some of the most sickening pornography imaginable, including books that encourage children to engage in homosexual sex acts and sex-change “gender” procedures. 

This compendium of examples was provided to Idaho legislatures. (This will shock you!)

Thus, this bill would remove that exemption. In fact, legitimate works of art would not fall under the current obscenity laws. So this bill would only affect actual pornography and obscene material. Similar bills are being filed across the country by pro-family groups and conservative legislators.

MassResistance helped provide a number of expert witnesses to testify in favor of the bill, including a local Idaho library board trustee. Various legislators also brought in other local board trustees who supported the bill.

Not surprisingly, the LGBT movement and the pro-LGBT library associations were furious at this bill, and fought hard to keep pornographic books available to children. They even argued that sexual and homosexual material is somehow “good” for young children.

The successful fight in the House

Starting in mid-February, MassResistance activists up and down the state contacted legislators, urging them to pass these two important bills. Finally, on March 7 and 8, the Idaho House of Representatives held contentious floor votes on these two bills. Many of the talking points used during the floor debate came from MassResistance activists. They provided extensive research for legislators so they could respond to the false and deceitful talking points from the LGBT lobby.

Both pieces of legislation ultimately passed the House with wide support. Surprisingly enough, the Idaho Speaker of the House, who has a mixed record on these socially conservative reforms, made sure that both bills received a hearing and final passage.

Both bills blocked by RINOs in the State Senate – and LGBT lobbying blitz

In the State Senate, MassResistance activists faced bigger problems.

Both bills would need to get through the State Senate State Affairs Committee. The committee chairman, Patti Anne Lodge, though a Republican, is a notorious liberal who has voted against many conservative reforms. This year was her last year serving in the State Legislature, since she had decided to retire. Many lobbyists in Boise were convinced that there was very little they could do to convince her to move either bill forward.

To make matters worse, Idaho State Senate President Chuck Winder, also a Republican, announced in a Zoom call of a local press conference that he did not see any chance of either bill even getting a committee hearing. He actually called the two bills “craziness from the House.”

How did this happen? It appears that the LGBT lobby had saturated the RINO Senate leadership with their false and deceptive talking points.

Our Organization Director, Arthur Schaper, contacted one of the leaders of the State Senate, to ask why H675 (the bill banning “sex-change” procedures on children) was not moving forward. The Senator rattled off LGBT talking points. However, those points were contradicted by the actual text of the bill - which Arthur read to him! That didn’t matter to the Senator at all.

It was similar with bill H666. MassResistance activists worked with Dan Kleinman of SafeLibraries, a group that exposes library corruption and harm to minors. Dan filed FOIA requests with libraries throughout Idaho. He discovered that numerous library staffers had submitted false and misleading talking points to Democrat state legislators – and the GOP Senate leadership. These included statements like: “This legislation amounts to censorship” or “It violates the First Amendment” or “This legislation will criminalize librarians.”

Thus, neither H675 nor H666 saw the light of day in the Idaho Senate.

Success via another route - through the state budget and a special committee

Conservative lawmakers in the House and Senate were very angry. The file of pornographic library books available to children was sickening to many. And the fact that librarians across the state had actively (and dishonestly) lobbied against the bill that would keep pornography away from children infuriated many conservatives even more.

In late March, as the legislative session neared its end, the last item on the Legislature’s plate was the state budget. Conservatives came together on the obscenity issue and continued to push back on this issue against the leadership. If the state-funded libraries insisted on pushing pornography on children, they needed to feel the heat.

During that battle the state budget went through four iterations which failed to pass.

The fifth time, agreement was finally reached. Nearly $4 million was cut from the State Library Commission. (The money had been mostly earmarked for certain construction and remodeling upgrades in various libraries.) This is a substantial cut, and the Left is not happy about it.

In addition, a resolution was passed creating a special legislative committee to deal with this problem. The group’s official title is “House Working Group for Protecting Idaho Children from Material Harmful to Minors in Libraries.” Its mission is to use all available laws, regulations, and policies to protect children from obscene material in their schools and libraries.

Final thoughts

It’s unbelievable that any “normal” lawmakers would allow these terrible policies harming children to stand. But unfortunately, that’s what’s happening.

Families are running into similar problems in many deeply conservative states and regions. Social liberals know they cannot get elected as Democrats, so they run as Republicans. We’ve seen it in Texas, Florida, Wyoming, Idaho, and other places. They cause all kinds of havoc, and often get into leadership positions. They collaborate with the Left, the LGBT movement, Black Lives Matter, Critical Race Theory proponents, and others.

Why Does Idaho State Senator Patti Anne Lodge Support Child Sex Mutilation and Obscenity in Libraries?

  The Idaho State House passed two great bills by wide margins two weeks ago:

1. H 666, legislation that would repeal the obscenity exemption in state code, which unscrupulous school staff and library staff have used in order to push pornography and obscene material on children.

2. H 675, legislation that would ban the horrific practice of sexual mutilation of minors, chemical castration and surgical mutilation.

These bills will save children's lives. These bills will preserve children's health and well-being.

No library, no school should be pushing sexually explicit, perverse materials on children. There is no excuse for horrendously explicit materials like the pages in GenderQueer  or This Book is Gay to be available to children--or to anyone!--in public libraries or public schools.

And yet, there is one major roadblock to these bills getting passed into law in the state of Idaho:

Her name is Patti Anne Lodge.

She is the state senator in charge of the State Senate State Affairs Committee.

She has been receiving all kinds of false emails and phone calls from "trans" parents throughout the state for the last two weeks. Most of these "parents" are not really parents, anyway, since LGBT activists have gotten very good at lying to legislators, giving the impression that they are trying to prevent their "trans-kids" from committing suicide.

Two weeks ago, Senator Lodge and her colleagues were ready to host hearings on H 675. Now, all of a sudden, she is getting cold feet? What's going on here?!

Why does Senator Lodge think that mutilation of a child counts as "health care"? Does she really think that hysterical parents getting swept up in social media social contagion have all the answers? And why is she ignoring the numerous testimonies of men and women who have left the whole "transition" cult? March 12th was De-Transition Day around the world. More men and women are coming out of "coming out," and it is time to listen to those voices.

Intellectuals, scholars, entire countries are discourage this horrific practice of "gender modification" of minors. Why is she ignoring the science, and the scientists? It's time for Senator Lodge to put the needs of children first!

She has also been receiving emails from corrupted librarians throughout the state, throughout the country, all of which are telling her not to grant a hearing on H 666.

Why does she think that sexually explicit material should be around children? If any adult were to take vulgar books like the ones mentioned above and show them to children on the sidewalk, they would get arrested. But for some sick reason, the same adult could showcase the same books in a public school or a public library, and nothing would happen to them!

Does this make sense? Shouldn't children, who are a captive audience in most public schools, and who expect some degree of safety in public libraries, be spared from such horrendous smut? It is not just the responsibility of parents to guide their children, but adults with a status of trust in the community must take the lead and keep perverse, damaging materials away from children.

The sad fact is that too many librarians right now have been indoctrinated with "free speech means anything goes" mentality, all of which comes from the krypto-marxist American Library Association. They are committed to pushing all kinds of filth on children, despite their pretenses to the public.

And right now, Senator Lodge is supporting these efforts. Why is Senator Lodge OK with obscenity in public libraries? Why does she think it is OK for library and school staff to push sexual perversion on kids? This is wrong! What kind of legacy is she hoping to leave for her family, for her community?

Contact Senator Lodge NOW and tell her to grant a hearing for H 666 and H 675. There is no excuse for her to be allowing the ongoing and abuse and destruction of children to take place in the Gem State. What kind of woman would want to leave such a horrific legacy for her tenure in Boise?!

Idaho Governor Brad Little: Big Child Advocate or Big RINO?

Idaho Governor Brad Little is facing a strong primary challenge from the current Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin.

Governor Little has been a part of the Gem State political establishment for years, and it seems that he is more interested in making nice with the party bosses than doing what is best for Idaho's kids.

There are two key bills working their way through the Idaho State Legislature:

H 666: This bill will ban the obscenity exemption which has allowed unscrupulous staffers in schools and libraries to push obscene materials on children, without any consequence. Adults are not allowed to push obscene materials on children in the public square or in other government buildings. Why do adults get away with pushing such harmful, destructive material onto children in locations which are supposed to be a child's safest spaces outside of the home?

This bill is a no-brainer. Seven states, red and blue, do not have an obscenity exemption. Why should Idaho allow children to be harmed in the classroom or the library?

And yet ... Gov. Little says little to nothing about it. What is the matter with this guy?!

The other bill, which is also very important to protect children, is ...

H 675: This legislation will ban the horrific practice of so-called "gender modification" of minors, in reality sex mutilation of minors. Children are not allowed to drink alcohol, smoke, drive a vehicle, or enter into a contract.

And yet, there are unscrupulous business interested and disturbed parents who think it is acceptable to forcibly transition, in reality mutilate, children to try to make them the opposite sex. Yes, the LGBT lobby has thrown up a whole host of false sob stories to give the impression that so-called "transgender" children will commit suicide if they are not allowed to have their hormones ruined and their bodies butchered. But the truth is very simple: there are two sexes, and kids grow out of gender confusion naturally if they are allowed to grow up.

It's that simple.

The truth is that the sexual mutilation of minors will scar these poor children for life. They will be rendered sterile, unable to raise a family. They end up suffering renewed mental health issues, and in too many cases, the physiological and anatomical complications which ensue from those invasive surgeries is just too horrific to describe.

And yet ... Governor Little says little to nothing.

Why does Governor Little hate children in the state of Idaho? Why does he not want to do what is best for the kids in his great state? Mothers and fathers across Idaho want to end the corrupted obscenity exemption, which has protected perverts, predators, and pedophiles in public schools and public libraries. Parents across Idaho want to end the life-destroying

Call Governor Little's office and tell him to act like a BIG MAN and do what is best for Idaho's Kids!

We all know that the only reason the Idaho State Senate has even contemplated stalling and killing these bills is that Governor Little does not want to sign them.

Tell Little Brad to support H 666 and H 675 and demand that those bills come to his desk ASAP!
