Wyoming MassResistance forces County Commission to threaten Library Board chairman to clean Up Library

Wyoming MassResistance forces County Commission to threaten Library Board chairman: Clean up your act or face removal!

Fighting back against degenerate library officials and RINO politicians in conservative state.

RINO County Commissioner drops out of upcoming election over the pressure.

And more!

May 13, 2024
ALT TEXT A Wyoming MassResistance activist (lower right) describes the horrible material in the library to the County Commissioners. They aren't even paying attention. (See video clip below.) But we forced them to take action!

When taking on the Left in your area, it’s important to find a way to get things done!

Last year, a state legislator in Wyoming reached out to MassResistance for help. The legislator had been working with local activists in Fremont County on a number of issues. But the obscenity and pornography in the library (as well as in the schools) was a vexing problem.

ALT TEXT

Fremont County is one of the largest counties in the state and is solidly Republican. The Republican primaries basically decide the elections. It is also home to the Wind River Reservation (the only Indian reservation in Wyoming) which unfortunately has become a center for leftist politics and the LGBT agenda.

But the bigger problem is that leftists get elected as Republicans for many important local offices. And they appoint other horrible leftists for governing boards. People usually don’t realize what has happened until it’s too late.

As in many places, the library purposefully has brought in numerous sexually obscene books, particularly in the young adult section. Also, the son of one of our activists saw another patron looking at hardcore pornography on the library computers – but the library has refused to install porn filters.

We gathered a MassResistance chapter in Fremont County to push back. The leftists didn’t like it at all!

Confronting the Library Board

The activists began attending Library Board meetings and confronting them about these problems. It was shocking how condescending, hostile, and detached the Board members acted. For example, in the video clip below a group of activists look on while a mother reads from one of the extremely graphic sex books. The Board members looked uninterested and irritated that their time was being wasted, and simply told the mother to file a bureaucratic “book challenge.”

Confronting the County Commission

The Library Board members are appointed by the Fremont County Commission. The County Commission is made up of appalling RINOS with seemingly no moral compass except to stay in power.

Our MassResistance activists came and testified at their meetings. They would describe in horrible detail what’s in the children’s sections of the library. But the Commissioners simply sat stone-faced, hoping the citizens would finish quickly and not come back. This video clip is an example:

VIDEO: County Commissioners sit stone-faced as mother describes obscene content for kids in library (2 min 1 sec)

At one point, the County Commission decided they’d had enough “information” and began putting severe restrictions on public comment.

Violating its procedures to exclude conservatives from Library Board

Last June, two pro-family citizens applied to fill a vacating position on the Library Board. But the leftist Library Director labeled them “ultra-conservative” and told the Commissioners that they were not appropriate to be members.

According to emails that our activists received through a Freedom of Information request, the Library Director claimed that people who are (in her opinion) “ultra-conservative” would oppose “intellectual freedom” – i.e., obscenity and pornography for children – and that this would be a violation of the First Amendment. It’s the argument that pornographers targeting children have been making for decades. To claim it applies to libraries is particularly absurd.

To solve this “problem,” the Library Director violated the county’s own procedures and covertly allowed a previous Board member to re-apply after the posted cut-off date. Thus, the former member got re-appointed instead of the legitimate candidates. The Commissioners later stated they were unaware of that violation at the time. But they refused to do anything about it.

Our activists fight back

Our activists refused to give up. They made a huge effort to expose the terrible books, the appointment violation, and the other outrages of the County Commission and Library Board to the entire county.

ALT TEXT After uncovering what really happened, our activists made sure that the local media knew about it!

GOP issues “Resolution of No Confidence”

In particular, they strategically reached out to the Fremont County Republican Party Central Committee – and thoroughly educated them on the situation. That got a powerful reaction: In March 2024, the Fremont County GOP issued a Resolution of No Confidence to the four liberal County Commissioners, along with a list of reasons for doing so.

In an area where voters vote overwhelmingly Republican – but need to know which Republican to vote for – that information is very important.

County Commissioners swiftly react – and we get results!

There are two Commissioners up for re-election in the upcoming August Republican primary. Within days of the GOP Resolution of No Confidence, both incumbents announced they were not running again. (One of them, the Chairman, later changed his mind and decided to run. The other is still not running.)

But that was just the beginning. A few weeks later, on April 2, 2024, the County Commission wrote a blistering memorandum to the Library Board.

They demanded that the Board immediately address a list of problems that our activists were complaining about. Those included: the Library Director’s use of “labeling” people in her communications to the Board; age-appropriateness of books for minors; pornography filters on computers; making the Material Review Policy have public involvement, reflect local values, and not be unreasonably time-consuming or bureaucratic; and other issues.

To make their point, the Commissioners ended their letter with these strong statements:

We have witnessed inappropriate behaviors from the Board Chair, and members of the Library Board. This must stop.

If we don’t see the issues listed above addressed by the end of the May Library Board meeting, we will be forced to remove the Chair and place Commissioner Mike Jones on the Library Board for a few months to ensure these policies and concerns are addressed.

A victory for families versus leftists

This is a significant victory. Things are changing and the momentum is now on our side in Fremont County.

The County Commission is still too reticent to say the obvious: Such disgusting and sickening sexual obscenity has no place in any library – and that the people who put it there and defend it need to find other employment (and deal with their own likely personal pornography problems).

But that will come!

And more – important “Pride” victory in Fremont County

Lander is the county seat of Fremont County. For years, in June the Lander City Council would pass a very offensive proclaimation celebrating Pride Month. Here is a sample.

But last year (in June 2023), the City Council decided not to celebrate Pride Month after outcry from our Wyoming MassResistance activists. (Here is an example.) That was a very important victory for families – and society – that we’re replicating in many places.

The Lander City Council is expected to reject a similar Pride resolution for June of this year, according to sreports!

Little by little, the RINO public officials in Wyoming are getting the message from their constituents!

Final thoughts

We must always keep in mind that small victories lead to big victories. Across the country, MassResistance is focusing on moving forward!

Wyoming MassResistance Family Fighting Frivolous Lawsuit

Wyoming family targeted by fired library director’s lawsuit answers with powerful motion to dismiss.

Family sued for exposing obscene books in library and complaining.

Lawsuit revealed as completely frivolous and meant to intimidate community and others.

ALT TEXT Hugh, Susan, and Kevin Bennett testify before the County Commission and Library Board about the graphic sexual books in the childrens' and teens' sections of the library. Now the former Library Director is using "lawfare" to attempt to destroy the family.

The family in Campbell County, Wyoming being targeted by the fired library director’s federal lawsuit is not intimidated. The have responded with a strong Motion to Dismiss that debunks everything the lawsuit charges them with.

Outrageous lawsuit against local family

Former Campbell County Library Director Terri Lesley was fired by the Library Board this past July for refusing to follow the Board’s new policy regarding obscene books. In a bizarre and outrageous move, on September 27, Lesley filed a federal lawsuit against local citizens Hugh and Susan Bennett and their adult son Kevin.

ALT TEXT Terri Lesley poses for a reporter while Campbell County Library Director. (Photo by Nick Reynolds/WyoFile)

The Bennetts did what people around the country are doing. They spoke up at public meetings about the sexually graphic books in their public library. Hugh wrote about the problem in a paper he publishes. And they asked the county prosecutor to decide whether the state obscenity laws are being violated.

Even though the Library Board – not the Bennetts – fired her, Lesley chose to harass that family. Her absurd list of alleged offenses includes violating the so-called Ku Klux Klan Act, unlawful and unconstitutional conduct, civil conspiracy, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and “abuse of process” claims.

The lawsuit is clearly meant not only to punish the Bennetts, but to terrorize other parents into silence. Lesley is being represented by a far-left Colorado-based “attack” lawyer who worked with the LGBT organization Wyoming Equality to get a federal judge to strike down Wyoming’s gay marriage ban. The lawyer has said, “I like to go back there [to Wyoming] and just mess with the state as much as I can.”

The Bennetts are being represented by a solid law firm in Florida that appears to be extremely skilled at dealing with this sort of “lawfare” case.

Fighting back with powerful motion to dismiss

The Motion to Dismiss basically debunks everything in Lesley’s lawsuit. It’s a great read! For example:

  • The text of the lawsuit is largely incendiary rhetoric and descriptions of actions of others in the community, with very few factual allegations of the Bennetts’ actions.
  • The Ku Klux Klan Act claim is utterly ridiculous. Nothing in that act remotely connects to anything the Bennetts did.
  • The “civil conspiracy” charge does not square with the legal definition. And Lesley fails to identify any “right” that is protected from these so-called conspiracies.
  • Lesley’s attempt to claim “defamation” is beyond the one-year statute of limitations, so it cannot apply. Even so, it does not square with the legal requirements of defamation liability. And since Lesley is a public figure, that also disqualifies her from making this charge.
  • Regarding alleged “intentional emotional distress,” Lesley cannot cite any “extreme and outrageous conduct” by the Bennetts or facts to back up the “severe emotional distress” that she supposedly endured.
  • Lesley is not able to describe any actual “unlawful and unconstitutional conduct.” The Bennetts, like all other citizens, have broad First Amendment rights to criticize public officials. Lesley cannot be permitted to make a claim against them for expressing their opinions.
  • Lesley’s allegations do not square with the requirements for an “abuse of process” claim. Her charges about the Bennetts contacting the Sheriff concerning the books (that they maliciously filed a false claim) are basically the opposite of what actually happened. The Bennetts simply filed a complaint asking the local authorities to determine if there was a violation of the law. It took the Sheriff and County Attorney considerable time and research to come to a conclusion.
  • Lesley’s lawsuit attempts to blame the Bennetts for the Library Board firing her. Lesley was a public figure and government official who placed herself in the forefront of an incredibly divisive issue being debated throughout our country.

As the Motion to Dismiss concludes:

At its heart, Plaintiff’s Complaint takes issue with the public advocacy performed by Defendants (successfully). That is not a basis for civil liability under the Ku Klux Klan Act, common law civil conspiracy, common law defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, or abuse of process. This Court should dismiss Plaintiff’s Amended Complaint with prejudice.

Anti-SLAPP laws exist to stop such harassment of citizens

In 33 states (though not in Wyoming), citizens are protected from this disgusting sort of “lawfare” harassment by anti-SLAPP laws.

What is SLAPP? Short for strategic lawsuits against public participation, SLAPP lawsuits have become a common tool for intimidating and silencing criticism through expensive, baseless legal proceedings.

Wikipedia’s description: “In a typical SLAPP, the plaintiff does not normally expect to win the lawsuit. The plaintiff's goals are accomplished if the defendant succumbs to fear, intimidation, mounting legal costs, or simple exhaustion and abandons the criticism. In some cases, repeated frivolous litigation against a defendant may raise the cost of directors and officers liability insurance for that party, interfering with an organization's ability to operate. A SLAPP may also intimidate others from participating in the debate.”

Anti-SLAPP laws are meant to provide a remedy to SLAPP lawsuits. The intent is to prevent people from using courts, and potential threats of a lawsuit, to intimidate people who are exercising their First Amendment rights.

Anti-SLAPP laws typically include provisions for an expedited process to dismiss meritless lawsuits early in the litigation process. They often provide for the recovery of attorney's fees and other costs incurred by the defendant in defending against the SLAPP lawsuit.

Unfortunately, Wyoming does not have an anti-SLAPP law. But MassResistance has already begun working with legislators in Wyoming (and other states) to change that!

We will keep you updated on all of this!

Wyoming MassResistance: Fired Library Director Sues Parents for Protesting Obscene Books

After being fired, Library Director in Wyoming files outrageous lawsuit against local family who protested obscene books.

Lawsuit is full of distortions, untruths, and absurd charges – also attacks MassResistance.

Clearly meant to intimidate others from complaining. Appears to be supported by LGBT movement.

The Library Director in Campbell County, Wyoming – recently fired for refusing to follow the Library Board’s new policy regarding obscene books – has filed a vicious (and frivolous) lawsuit in federal court against a local family who had complained about the books.

Terri Lesley was fired by the Library Board in July 2023. Now she is suing Hugh and Susan Bennett, who live in Gillette, WY, and their adult son Kevin. Lesley accuses the Bennetts of a laundry list of absurd alleged offenses, including unlawful and unconstitutional conduct, civil conspiracy defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and abuse of process claims. She is demanding financial compensation for a long list of “damages” to her that she alleges.

It is clearly meant to terrorize other parents into silence. Before the Bennetts ever saw it, the lawsuit found its way to the mainstream media across Wyoming. The Bennetts first heard about the lawsuit from a newspaper reporter!

ALT TEXT

The bizarre lawsuit appears to be supported by the LGBT movement and its allies in the pornography industry. It is obviously meant to punish the Bennetts for expressing their First Amendment rights – and to intimidate others around the country from complaining about obscene books and materials. In addition, the lawsuit attacks (and libels) MassResistance and uses photos from our website.

ALT TEXT Kevin Bennett testifies before the Library Board in December, 2021 as local parents seated behind him look on.

Background – Two years of parents battling for a clean library

Campbell County is a very conservative area (in a conservative state) which had unfortunately attracted leftist public officials. The firing of Terri Lesley caps two years of fighting by citizens in the county to get the obscenity and graphic sexuality targeting children removed from their public library. (See our posts here.) If anything, the parents should be suing Lesley.

  1. Horrible books discovered. In the summer of 2021, parents began discovering horrible books in the children’s and teens’ sections of the library. The books were focused on and promoted graphic sexuality and depraved behaviors. Subjects included homosexuality, transgenderism, anal sex, oral sex, bondage and sado-masochism, promiscuity, sex with strangers, “enjoying” pornography, surgically removing genitals, and more. Much of it is written in a particularly lurid fashion. The books lack any redeeming quality.
  2. Billboards. Parents formed a Wyoming MassResistance chapter. In August 2021 they raised money and paid for billboards to notify people of the problems in the library.
  3. Testimony by parents – and harassment from leftists. This group of parents also began to testify regularly at the County Commission meetings and Library Board meetings to demand something be done. (The County Commission appoints the Library Board members.)  The parents read passages from the books. Terri Lesley also testified, using left-wing American Library Association (ALA) talking points supporting the books. Local leftists would come to insult and harass the parents. Neither the County Commissioners nor the Library Board members would act.
  4. Library invites “transgender” performer. In July 2021, the Library invited a “transgender” magician to perform for children. Parents protested prior to the event, and the two shows were canceled. The library claimed there were “threats” but could not produce any evidence of that. The next day, LGBT activists defaced a local church with ugly transgender messages.
  5. Library employee organizes boycott of Bennett’s business. In early August 2021, the library’s Youth Services Librarian (who worked for Terri Lesley) publicly organized a boycott against Hugh Bennett’s business. The Bennetts were selected for this abuse because their online magazine ran an article critical of the “transgender” performer.
  6. Parents file criminal obscenity complaint – which is rejected. On September 29, Hugh and Susan Bennett showed they were not going to be intimidated. They filed a complaint with the local Sheriff’s office under Wyoming statute 6-2-31, which makes it a crime to “knowingly encourage anyone less than 14 years old to engage in sexual intrusion.” The books were promoting that to children. The complaint was transferred to another county prosecutor to avoid “conflict of interest.” But that county prosecutor cowardly decided that a how-to book for minors on mutual masturbation, oral sex, and anal sex to minors does not constitute “encouragement” of sex, and he refused to act on it.
  7. Public comment banned at Commission and Library Board meetings. The MassResistance parents continued to demand that their public officials take action on the obscene books. In reaction, both the County Commission and the Library Board banned all public comments at their meetings! The Library Board also voted to keep the obscene books in the library. Terri Lesley continued to defend the books using ALA talking points.
  8. Re-shuffled County Commission restores public comment. In January 2022, a conservative became Commission chairman and one of the leftist members resigned (and was replaced by a conservative). The County Commission now had a solid conservative majority and they decided to support the Wyoming MassResistance parents. In February, they started by restoring public comment.
  9. In May 2022, the County Commission cut the library’s budget by $42,000.
  10. New (conservative) Library Board. In August 2022, the Commission appointed four new conservative members to the Library Board, giving conservatives a 4-1 majority.
  11. New Library Board cuts ties with ALA. On October 24, 2022 the new Library Board voted to cut all ties with the far-left pro-LGBT American Library Association and its Wyoming affiliate. This drew national attention to the fight.
  12. New Library Board passes strong policy to keep out porn. MassResistance connected with the pro-family legal group Liberty Counsel to craft an ironclad policy to keep obscene books out and remove current obscenity. In July, the Library Board formally adopted the policy.
  13. Terri Lesley refuses to follow policy, so is fired. She stated that she would not follow the policy. When they asked her to resign, she refused. So the Library Board voted to fire her.
  14. Leftists flood Library Board meetings, insult and harass conservatives. Pro-LGBT activists from several neighboring counties flooded into the Library Board meeting on the day that Terri Lesley was officially fired – and also the following meeting – to insult and harass the Library Board members as well as conservative parents who showed up (using quite a bit of profanity). Liberal media across the country (including CNN and the Associated Press) wrote articles supporting Lesley.

The outrageous lawsuit

Terri Lesley’s 44-page lawsuit is surprisingly poorly written for a legal document. It reads like a rambling angry rant. She attacks parents’ testimony in opposition to the obscene books as if their statements were illegal. She portrays criticism of her job performance as personal harassment. (Throughout the document she includes photos from the MassResistance website.) Here are some of the statements, characterizations, and false allegations in her lawsuit:

  • She states that there was no pornography in the library. By any common dictionary definition, much of the challenged material is pornographic. Regarding the obscenity laws, she was protected by a loophole exempting libraries from the Wyoming obscenity statute.
  • She admits that she actively brought books and materials promoting homosexuality, transgenderism, and other sexual themes into the children’s and teens’ sections, knowing that Campbell County is a conservative region. She also admits that she promoted “Pride Month” despite the County Commission’s wish that she not do that.
  • She admits that this conflict is about her personal “advocacy” for so-called “LGBTQ+ people.” She claims that it is “a violation of her constitutional rights” not to allow this advocacy in her job.
  • She admits that she was honored by the pro-LGBT American Library Association for so-called “intellectual freedom” and given an award in Washington, DC.
  • She goes on for pages horribly vilifying the Bennetts for their negative opinions about Pride Month and LGBT graphic books targeting children. Those opinions are held by millions of parents across the country and are certainly not illegal.
  • She states that the County Commission members who want to protect minors do so because of their “intentionally obfuscated anti-LGBTQ+ animus.”
  • She suggests that the Bennetts’ concerns about Pride Month will lead to people showing up with guns to cause harm at such events at the library.
  • She denigrates the parents in the community as having “hateful ideologies” and uses other slanderous descriptions, and compares the Bennetts to the Ku Klux Klan. She even references a law to protect people from the KKK. (Yet she claims she was the one who was slandered.)
  • She states that a reason parents wanted the books removed is that they believe “LGBTQ+ individuals were ‘criminals’ and ‘dangerous’.” That’s a purposeful distortion. People were talking about behaviors being dangerous, not individuals.
  • She talks about “threats to her physical safety” but does not offer any evidence of it. Claims of “threats” are a common (and tiresome) LGBT ploy. In fact, the defacing of a church in Gillette, WY in June 2021 by LGBT activists was truly threatening.
  • She complains bitterly that the Bennetts hoped to get her fired. Much of the community felt that way. It is not illegal for citizens to want a public employee removed.
  • Regarding the Bennetts' complaint to the Sheriff, Lesley claims that they sought to have her “stripped of her liberty, all because they hated a few books containing LGBTQ+ content, ideas, themes, or authors.” That’s another example of her ludicrous distortions.
  • Probably the most ridiculous charge: The Bennetts later said that if Lesley had removed the books they wouldn’t have filed the complaint. Lesley claims that this admission constitutes the crime of blackmail!
  • She goes on for pages vilifying the Bennetts and other parents for their outrage over the library’s invitation to a transgender performer for a children’s event.
  • She vents her outrage over the numerous book challenges filed to the library by the Bennetts and others - all of which she rejected.
  • The Bennetts (and other parents) were also opposed to books promoting Critical Race Theory to young children. Lesley suggests that it is because the Bennetts are themselves racist.
  • Finally, Lesley admits that she violated the new Library Policy and the specific orders of the Chairman of the Library Board. She gives the ridiculous reason that it would somehow “violate the First Amendment” if she had complied. But the policy had been reviewed by a legal firm which has argued successfully before the US Supreme Court on First Amendment issues.

Terri Lesley reserves special venom for MassResistance:

  • She angrily calls MassResistance a “hate group,” and falsely claims that MassResistance has a “play book” for parents outlining confrontational tactics. As “proof” she uses the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is well known as a left-wing extremist hate group that has had to pay out millions of dollars in damages for its false statements about conservatives.
  • She alleges that MassResistance President Brian Camenker “continuously” makes certain statements about homosexuals and transgenders, but provides no evidence of any such statements.
  • She states that MassResistance targets books with “racially diverse content.” We have never done that.
  • She falsely states that Kevin Bennett is the “founder of the MassResistance Wyoming chapter.” That’s another one of her fantasies. None of the Bennetts were ever founders or leaders of the Wyoming MassResistance chapter (or any other chapter).

She attempts to stretch the law for her own ends. She claims that the parents’ continual complaints about the books constituted a “criminal conspiracy” against her. She further claims citizens trying to get her fired was an “unlawful goal.” She says that the parents’ complaints caused her “emotional distress” which also makes them liable for damages.

ALT TEXT Wyoming MassResistance parents hold signs in front of the library.
ALT TEXT Radical LGBT activists with their hateful signs were allowed to heckle the parents during Library Board meetings.

The lawyers

Lesley is being represented by a Colorado-based so-called “super-lawyer” who worked with Wyoming Equality to get a federal judge to strike down Wyoming’s gay marriage ban. He says, “I like to go back there and just mess with the state as much as I can.”

As we write this, the Bennetts have still not been served with the lawsuit, nor do they have a lawyer. Since Liberty Counsel has drafted the Library Board’s new book policy and knows this situation – and often take these kinds of cases pro-bono – we have reached out to them and are awaiting their reply.

Final thoughts

Not surprisingly, Lesley repeats the ridiculous leftist talking point that the First Amendment prevents a local Library Board from determining which books it may have in its public library (e.g., books on baseball versus books on field hockey). The decision of the radicals on the staff is final according to Lesley.

But she ignores the fact that the First Amendment clearly states that people have the right “to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” She doesn’t want any complaints from the public.

Nothing that the Bennetts did is criminal or even actionable. What they did is what people on the Right and Left do every day across America. They complained about their government. This lawsuit is about silencing conservatives and instilling fear.

It’s also pertinent to point out what the Bennetts (or any of the other conservative citizens) didn’t do to Lesley. They didn’t “dox” her. They didn’t publish her personal address or phone number. They were civil. But leftists and LGBT activists often do these things to conservatives.

This is basically “lawfare” – term for illegitimately using expensive legal proceedings as a weapon to bankrupt, imprison, or destroy an opponent. That has become a common tool of the Left in recent years against conservatives.

In our opinion, the outrageous anti-American nature of this lawsuit, and the fact that it’s obviously being supported by the LGBT movement, will make it a very high-profile case. Terri Lesley and her lawyers want to change America so that any citizen who vigorously complains about a public official’s actions can be sued for damages. We will keep you informed.

LGBT Activist Christina Gerrits: Relentless Hatemonger and Depraved Pervert

Christina Gerrits

Shame on Christina Gerrits of Gillette, Wyoming.

She spoke out at the latest Campbell County, WY Library Board meeting in Gillette (November 21, 2022) and this is what she had to say:

Chairwoman Bear and Committee members:

Last weekend, there was another senseless mass shooting in Colorado Springs

The LGBQ ... The LGBTQ Community was clearly targeted in this latest attack, and I place the blame on actions such as this and at the feet of MassResistance.

The truth is that the real culprits when it comes to dangerous behaviors and ideologies are Christina Gerrits and her LGBT ilk. Why are these creepy adults so determined to normalize sexual perversion?

She had the despicable audacity to blame mothers, fathers, veterans, and immigrants who fight for family values, and she blames THEM for the shooting in Colorado? Absolutely shameful!

MassResistance tries to marginalize alternative lifestyles and would like nothing better than to put others back in the closet.

Gerrits acknowledges that homosexuality and transgenderism are marginal behaviors. She acknowledges that the perverted, pornographic books are all pushed by LGBT activists.

Why are LGBT militants so determined to push sexual perversion on children? Why are LGBT themed books for children saturated with sexual perversion and degeneracy?

Instead of embracing our library and its efforts to serve others in our community, you are doing everything you can to push LGBTQ+ members and their needs underground. You all are part of the national attack on the LGBTQ+ community.

The truth is that sexual degeneracy should be pushed underground. Why would any adult want to normalize these destructive behaviors, and especially onto children?

And I am wondering if any of you have stopped to take stock of your hatred, minisformation, and attacks on members of our LGBTQ+ community.

The real hatred, misinformation, and attacks are coming from the LGBT "community." They are the ones targeting children. They are the ones normalizing perversion.

And here's the biggest fraud yet coming from Christina "Relentless Hatemonger" Gerrits:

There's never been a culture war by the Left. MassResistance has come to our community to create a problem where there was none.

The whole culture war is taking place BECAUSE of the LEFT!

Yes, there is this whole perverse push to normalize sexual perversion on kids. This is exactly what is going on. LGBT themed books are filled with sexual perversion, pornography, and filth.

By twisting the definition of pornography, they are maintaining that these books, which contain sex education information, are pornographic

That's because they are, Christina. What kind of sick pervert are you, that you actually defend filthy, perverted books like This Book is Gay and GenderQueer around children?

What kind of twisted adult could look on any of the many explicit pages in those books, and then claim that they are NOT pornography?

Pornograhy is the printed or visual material containing the explicit description  ord ispay of sexual organs or activities, intended to stimulate erotic instead of artistic or emotional feeling.

All these perversions are pervasive throughout the books that have been challenged.

If the illustrations in the books "This Book is Gay" stimulate erotic feelings in anyone, then I feel sorry for you. It's clearly a "How to" book, which only kids who are ready for that kind of information will check out.

Why would any adult want to giv children a book on how to have sex? Why would any adult support providing material which shows kids gross, indecent acts and even invites children to have sex with adults?!

Christina Gerrits, the relentless hatemonger and depraved pervert of Campbell County, WY thinks all of that is OK.

I would have been mortified to see any information on sex for the longest time. I was a late bloomer. But that does not mean it should not be made available for others to read.

Christina Gerrits is a relentless hatemonger. She clearly neglected to inform the public that it was a disturbed non-binary bigot who shot up the Colorado Springs gay bar. The LGBT "community" is attacking itself, now.

There is so much brokenness, degeneracy, and moral bankruptcy among homosexuality and transgenderism. Christina Gerrits insists on pushing the TRUTH into the closet, and then she shamelessly lies about MassResistance.

The truth is that she is a relentless hatemonger. She is pushing hate, and she is pushing lies, and she is fomenting disinformation, all in the name of normalizing sexual perversion and degeneracy for children.

And she is a depraved pervert! Any adult who thinks pornographic material should be allowed for children is an absolutely depraved pervert, and that describes Christina Gerrits to C ... G ... and T.

Wyoming MassResistance: Letter to the Gillette News-Record

From Hugh Bennett of Wyoming MassResistance:

Kathy Halvorsen’s letter to the editor is liberal “group think”, her talking points reveal it. Librarians and the library aren’t “under attack”. Locals valuing childhood innocence (licensed professional doctors, psychologists, ministers, and educators) haven’t attacked librarians. They’ve defended childhood innocence in public by quoting moral, national, and state laws; laws of nature, and the morality upon which America’s law is based. They’ve exercised free speech.

Meanwhile liberals play the victim, preventing observers from realizing books exposing children to sodomy and other perversity are child abuse. Liberal victimhood is a deliberately distracting straw-man. No rational adult wants taxes to pervert and destroy a generation with sexualized propaganda. False “victims” mischaracterize censorship; as if childhood freedom requires exposure to hardcore pornography. We don’t endorse pro smoking, drinking, or drug-use propaganda for kids. So why are liberals pushing known perversity? Leftist buzzwords mischaracterize responsible adults as 'religious zealots'. I believe God, but I’m less religious than founding fathers who fought and died in the American revolution; who signed the declaration of independence and framed our constitution. Many were ministers.

The library IS a political entity built by politicians serving our community. Our library board was politically appointed. Community standards apply. Kathy pretends morally responsible citizens protecting children from perversion are like 1930s Nazis. “Nazi” stands for “national socialist”. They were ultra-radical lefties. They burned books to control thought. Today’s liberal elite censor conservative thought online, push fake news (propaganda), and virtue signal to justify abuse. Modern “democrats” are more fascist and socialist than any right-wing group. Look up fascist goals and implementation tactics in the library; there’s the liberal playbook. Liberals dox dissenters, deface churches, and play the victim: modernized Nazi tactics. “Conservatives” don’t censor adults or adult materials. We do protect immature children from sexualization, perversity and obviously wicked propaganda.Hugh Bennett Gillette News RecordP.O. Box 3006Gillette, WY 82718307-682-9306

Wyoming MassResistance Forces Out RINO Pro-LGBT Commissioner

Taking it to the politicians: Wyoming County Commissioner resigns after pressure from MassResistance parents over obscene library books.

He had compared local parents to Nazis. Railed about parents’ “ignorance and hate.”

An arrogant pro-LGBT liberal who got elected in a conservative area.

A new pro-family Commissioner has been voted in to take his place!

February 9, 2022
ALT TEXT County Commissioner Daniel Reardon stares at parents and compares them to Nazis during Aug. 12, 2021 meeting, because of their adamant objections to the pornographic books for children and young teenagers.

When it comes to arrogant anti-family public officials, parents don’t have to just sit and take it. But they have to be willing to take a very strong stand and be persistent.

Like most areas in Wyoming, Campbell County is quite conservative. But unfortunately, liberals and RINOs have been elected to key positions. Last summer, local MassResistance parents began complaining to their County Commission about the pornographic and obscene LGBT books for children and teenagers appearing in the public library. Some of the graphic homosexual books for young teenagers are sickening even for adults.

This Book is Gay
by James Dawson
In library's Teen section

SUMMARY: This book is pornographic and truly obscene. All forms of “gay” and “lesbian” sexual practices and perversions are endorsed and celebrated with graphic instructions for teenagers. It promotes medically unsafe behaviors and perversions and is filled with false information.

Read sample pages here. (CAUTION: obscene material.)

The Library Board, which the County Commission controls, is run by leftists. But the five-member County Commission was stacked 3-2 against doing anything to challenge the Board.

A particularly hostile Commissioner

One County Commissioner, Daniel G. Reardon, was particularly hostile to the idea of shielding children from obscenity and LGBT pornography.

On July 13, Reardon sent an email to a constituent smearing the parents who had objected to a “transgender” performing for young children at the library. He wrote, “It is a sad state of affairs where we regress back to the Matthew Shepard days because of ignorance of hate.” When this became public, parents were livid.

Then on August 12 during a County Commission meeting, Reardon suddenly launched into an angry rant against the parents in the room.

He started out by defending library staff and their bureaucratic “processes that are in place” for selecting the books and allowing for parents to fill out forms to “challenge” books. He said that the Commission’s job is to support the Library Board.

He went on to say that “censoring” LGBT books (i.e., homosexual pornography) was equivalent to censoring books on guns, the military, blacks, or religions other than Christianity.

Then he really went off the rails. It’s the parents who are not doing their jobs, he said. It’s the parents’ fault for not supervising what their children are reading in the library. He said that parents need to “stop talking about censoring, taking books out, burning books, and going back to the days of the Nazis.”

An audience member angrily yelled back at Reardon that he was lying about the parents. Reardon had a Sheriff’s officer escort the man out of the room. He then looked right at the parents and scolded them, “Don’t tell us we’re not doing our job. We are doing our job.”

ALT TEXT After the audience member yelled back at Reardon, the sheriff's deputy immediately came to eject him from the room.

Parents fight back!

Reardon clearly intended to intimidate and silence the Wyoming MassResistance parents. But his tirade had the opposite effect.

Our activists made sure that the community heard about Reardon’s offensive remarks. They got the message out on social media.

They leafletted the community:

They continued to come to every County Commission meeting and Library Board meeting to demand that the local children be protected from the library staff’s promotion of obscenity and pornography. Though the Commission’s 3-2 majority refused to do the right thing, they were clearly being worn down.

In October they voted to ban all public comment to keep the parents from being able to complain at the Commission meetings. Of course, this just riled the parents up even more.

Reardon announces his resignation

On January 5, 2022, without prior notice, Reardon delivered a letter of resignation to the Campbell County Commission.

His “official” reason was that he had moved to another community (Cheyenne). However, as he told the local newspaper, his family had moved to Cheyenne some time earlier, and he had rented an apartment in Campbell County and was spending more than half of his time there. (It’s not required to live in the County to serve on the County Commission.) He also cited his fear of COVID, though did not elaborate. Reardon said that he had “intended to serve his full term” through 2022, but changed his mind and decided to resign now.

This came just weeks after the Library Board Chairman had also suddenly announced her resignation, although she will continue to serve as a regular Board member.

A new pro-family Commissioner gets voted in!

Since Reardon was technically a Republican (though an insufferable RINO), the process for replacing him was for the local Republican Central Committee to nominate three people, and the Commissioners would vote to accept one of them.

The Commissioners apparently got the message from the outraged parents. At the Jan. 27 Commission meeting, they selected Don Hamm as the new Commissioner. According to the parents who met with the candidates, Hamm was right on their wavelength regarding the library problems.

To start with, the parents are now expecting the Commission to repeal the offensive ban on public comment, when one of the family-friendly Commissioners also becomes the new Chairman this month. And there’s talk of even bigger changes.

Final thoughts

We may sound like a broken record, but we’ll say it again: These people running our libraries and the politicians who support them have neither morals nor conscience. They know what they’re doing to children and are proud of it. Too many conservatives more interested in appearing reasonable and polite than standing up for the truth. But this gains them nothing. The best way: Be resolute and don’t give up.

Wyoming MassResistance: Standing Up to Rude, Abusive Library Board

Wyoming County Library Board passes hostile (and illegal) public comments policy, then uses it to terminate meeting

Board shuts down citizen’s appeal vs. inappropriate children’s book. Claim speaker was "disrespectful."

Follows resignation of Library Board Chairman – after months of Wyoming MassResistance pressure

Board members continue to side with Library Director against parents

Community pressure continues

February 1, 2022
ALT TEXT New Library Board Chairman Charlie Anderson (center) reads aloud his proposed "public comment policy" at the Dec. 20 meeting.

These days, radical public library officials will do almost anything – even break the law – to intimidate and discourage citizens from attempting to stop their abuses against children. In Campbell County, Wyoming, MassResistance community activists have been relentlessly taking a stand to stop their public library officials from foisting LGBT pornography and other inappropriate books on young children and teens.

But our activists are learning that relentless pressure pays off.

Library Board chairman steps down

On Dec. 20, 2021, the Campbell County Library Board opened their meeting with a new chairman, Charlie Anderson.

His predecessor, Dr. Hollie Stewart, had abruptly resigned as chairman soon after the November meeting but continues to serve as a Board member. According to people we spoke to, she had been complaining bitterly to members of the County Commission about having to run Board meetings with the ongoing anger from Wyoming MassResistance parents over the offensive children’s books.

ALT TEXT Left to right: Library Board members Mandy Steward, Miranda Finn, former chairman Dr. Hollie Stewart, Nancy Stovall, and new chairman Charlie Anderson.

Odious new “public comment” policy

Anderson’s first action as new chairman was to introduce a new restrictive “public comment” policy. This high-handed tactic is being used across the country by public officials to insulate themselves from the outrage brought on by their arrogant actions.

Anderson read his proposed policy aloud. (See our transcription here.) It states that public comment at meetings is not a legal right, but a privilege granted by the Board. The policy was developed after (supposed) “personal attacks directed at this Board.”

The policy bans “inappropriate comments or behavior.” Inappropriate behavior is defined as “attempting to engage individual Board members in conversation” and “insults.”  It also lists “obscenities, or profanity and/or physical violence or any threat thereof” as well as “attacks against any person in their personal capacity” (which is unclear). But to imply that concerned parents would engage in profanity, physical violence, or threats is absurd.

The policy outlines a series of steps for enforcement: (1) The chairman rules the speaker out of order. (2) If the behavior continues, the speaker will be asked to leave. (3) If inappropriate conduct continues, the chairman may “entertain a motion to end public comment and adjourn the meeting.” It also limits speakers in public comment to three minutes, an absurdly short time for that kind of body.

Anderson said that he and Sean Brown, the (liberal) assistant County Attorney jointly put together the policy. (Perhaps they were inspired by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s memo casting parents who dare to speak up as domestic terrorists.)

The Library Board unanimously approved the policy.

Illegal under Wyoming Law?

It would certainly appear that this policy is illegal under Wyoming law. Wyoming statute 16-4-406 states that in the event of “disruption of public meetings” a body may (a) have the person or persons removed and continue the session; or (b) recess the meeting and reconvene to another location and continue with the agenda. It does not give the option of simply adjourning the meeting. But like most leftists, Charlie Anderson and Sean Brown decided to devise their own set of rules.

Using new policy to suddenly shut down the meeting!

On the Dec. 20 meeting’s agenda were appeals to the Library Board by local citizens. They sought to remove four books whose challenges had been rejected by the library staff.

We’ve already reported on the appeal of the first book Trans Mission, a sickening, pornographic LGBT book for teenagers that the Board nevertheless voted to keep in the shelves.

The other three books were being appealed by Kevin, the son of two great Wyoming MassResistance activists. Kevin got right to work.

His first appeal was on the book, The Babysitter’s Coven. Following the trend of anti-Christian children’s books, it is a slick teenagers’ introduction to occult and satanic beliefs and symbolism which encourages teenagers to explore further. (It’s no wonder so many young people are drawn into Satanism.) The plot also includes a man abducting girls and holding them in a basement. It encourages underage drinking and drug use (two issues affecting teenagers in Campbell County). This portrayal of repulsive people who do nasty things has no redeeming value.

Even the book cover is weird.

Kevin described how reviewers – which the library uses in their “collection” process – were not impressed by this book. He quoted one mainstream reviewer saying, “I am not really comfortable recommending a young teen to read this book.”

ALT TEXT Kevin begins his presentation of "The Babysitter's Coven" to the Board on Dec. 20 as local parents seated behind him look on.

A few minutes into Kevin’s presentation, some of the Board members were clearly getting uncomfortable. They rudely started interrupting Kevin. Charlie Anderson grilled him about Lord of the Rings, a book that was not relevant to the conversation. It seemed like a hostile cross-examination. Then Anderson started berating him for bringing up the book reviews. When Kevin started to answer him, Board member Miranda Finn suddenly jumped in:

Charlie Anderson: I was hoping you’d talk about the book that we’re here to discuss.

Kevin: That’s what I’ve been doing. I’m using data and sources to back up what I’m saying so I’m not just bubbling effervescent from my face here. I’m trying to actually use some facts here.

Miranda Finn: Mr. Chairman, we’ve reached the point where disrespect is being displayed. I move to adjourn the meeting.

Immediately then, Anderson called for a vote to adjourn. There were four “Aye” votes. (He did not ask if there were any “Nay” votes. Mandy Steward later told him that she was a “Nay” vote.) Anderson quickly declared the meeting adjourned.

A violation of the policy they had just passed

This was in violation of the policy they had just passed! Before adjourning the meeting, they should have first (1) ruled Kevin out of order, then (2) asked him to leave. They did neither.

Also, the basis of the adjournment was that “disrespect is being displayed” by Kevin. But “disrespect” is not part of their definition of inappropriate behavior. Kevin did not actually violate anything.

All this shows how contemptible and loathsome these people are.

At the January Board meeting Kevin was allowed to continue

At the January 24, 2022 meeting of the Library Board, the arrogance continued. But Kevin’s persistence clearly had them rattled, and he was not letting up.

At the beginning of the meeting, Kevin requested that they read the Wyoming statute on “disruption of public meetings” which clearly contradicts their new policy. Anderson asked one of the staff members to read it aloud. The staffer did, but the Board didn’t react at all and just continued with their meeting.

They allowed Kevin to finish his three book appeals. The other two books were A Quick and Easy Guide to Queer and Trans Identities and Music from Another World. Both books intend to draw young teenagers into homosexuality. They portray homosexual relationships and sex as normal and very desirable.

ALT TEXT

This time the Board let Kevin finish his presentations. Immediately afterwards, the Board allowed the Library Director to deliver a “rebuttal” to Kevin’s appeal. Much of that was the boilerplate text from her previous rebuttal in December.

Then, to no one’s surprise, the Board voted 4-1 to reject all of Kevin’s appeal, with Mandy Steward being the holdout.

And then came public comment - parents blast Board!

The Board was not in the clear yet. They got pummeled during the public comment section.

Citizen after citizen got up and blasted the Board for doing nothing to get rid of the terrible books, and the staff who have been selecting the books. One woman pointed out that the efforts of the Wyoming MassResistance team are inspiring other people around the country to press forward, demand answers from their local libraries, and get harmful books removed. At one point, a woman who identified herself as a retired librarian pointed out that the local newspaper has applauded the Library Director. Kevin got up and reminded her that the newspaper differs from the community on most issues, including this.

ALT TEXT This woman talked about being part of Wyoming MassResistance and travelling around the state, and that people knew about this battle: “I hear some positive stories and it’s so exciting. Because of us, people have taken on their own libraries. And they’re getting things done! Books are being removed!" she said.

Final thoughts

Decades ago, most states across the country passed laws exempting schools, libraries, and museums from laws banning obscenity (as harmful to minors). This was done in the interest of protecting legitimate artwork that sometimes portrayed nudity. But now, radical staff members and public officials are using that as cover to push pornography onto children in schools and libraries. (Attempts to overturn these laws in some states have been strongly opposed by teachers’ unions and LGBT groups.)

Regarding the issue of “disrespecting” officials: In a famous 1964 case (New York Times v Sullivan) the US Supreme Court opined that America has a "profound national commitment to the principle that debate on public issues should be uninhibited, robust, and wide-open, and that it may well include vehement, caustic, and sometimes unpleasantly sharp attacks on government and public officials."

When public officials declare that they and their actions are above criticism by ordinary citizens, we all need to get very upset. These people have no morals and no conscience. They deserve parents’ disrespect. We will certainly not be intimidated by them.

There’s a lot more to come from Campbell County, Wyoming!
