No Such Thing as Palestine: What PLO Activism in the USA is Really All About

Cravatts Originally published at Frontpagemag.com A recent survey conducted by Alums for Campus Fairness, “A Growing Threat: Antisemitism on College Campuses,” asked some 500 Jewish-affiliated college students and recent alumni what their perceptions were regarding campus anti-Semitism. The findings of the survey were troubling, given that: “Nearly 100% of respondents said antisemitism is/was a problem on their campus,” “95% of respondents identified antisemitism as a problem on U.S. college campuses, with three out of four describing it as a ‘very serious problem,’” almost “half of current students say antisemitism is getting worse on their campus,” and “69% of students and grads say they have avoided certain places, events, or situations at school because they are Jewish.” Anyone familiar with current state of affairs on university campuses knows that the root of much of this animus towards Jewish students is the ongoing university campaign against Israel and Zionism, and that Jewish students, whether they even support the Jewish state or not, regularly find themselves the target of derision, bigotry, and condemnation simply because they are Jewish. In fact, research has demonstrated quite clearly that agitation against Israel—including the toxic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign—by such corrosive student activists as Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) increase both the frequency and intensity of anti-Semitic speech and expression. A 2019 report by The AMCHA Initiative, a campus anti-Semitism watchdog organization, for example, revealed that “BDS’s mandate to boycott or suppress programs, collaborations, events, or expression that promote ‘the normalization of Israel in the global academy,’ as well as the academic BDS-compliant ‘common sense’ mandate to criticize, protest and boycott individuals who are deemed complicit with or supportive of Israel’s alleged crimes, appear to greatly encourage antisemitic behavior.” An earlier AMCHA report had found similar connections between anti-Israel activism and the presence of anti-Semitism on those campuses with SJP chapters. That report concluded, shockingly, that the “presence of one or more anti-Zionist student groups is very strongly correlated with the overall number of antisemitic incidents. 99% of the schools with one or more active anti-Zionist student group had one or more incidents of antisemitic activity, whereas only 16% of schools with no active anti-Zionist student group had incidents of antisemitic activity.” Campuses with SJP or other anti-Zionist student groups, the report found, were “very strongly associated with the occurrence of antisemitic expression. 91% of the schools with one or more active anti-Zionist group showed evidence of antisemitic expression, whereas only 16% of schools with no active anti-Zionist student group showed evidence of antisemitic expression.” SJP and other student groups, along with their faculty sponsors, are the foot soldiers in the worldwide campaign of Palestinianism, but the ideology which animates the Palestinian cause is evident not only in the ivy walls of academia, but also in the UN, NGOs, the State Department, the Arab street, and in parliaments and congresses where the chattering classes purport to be committed to Arab self-determination and seem to have no issue with sacrificing, if necessary, the Middle East’s sole democracy as part of that effort. Central to this propaganda campaign to enshrine Palestinianism—in which the suffering of the Palestinian has finally trumped the historic suffering and dispossession of the Jews—is the wholesale, deliberate appropriation of the language and symbols of the Jews by the foes who wish to eradicate, not only the Jewish past, but the very existence of the Jewish state. Thus, the actual genocide of European Jewry during the Holocaust is either minimized or denied by the Arab world at the same time that Israel is denounced for committing a new “holocaust” against the Palestinians through ethnic cleansing, military barbarism, and war crimes. Palestinians regularly refer to themselves as being dispersed in a Diaspora, what they call their own “Nakba,” a catastrophe, just as Jews had traditionally spoken of their own scattering from their homeland after the destruction of the Second Temple. While Arab aggression and homicidal impulses against Jews have been unrelenting—before and since the creation of Israel—Palestinianism has been successful in casting the Arab Palestinians as the perennial victim of Jewish supremacism, even though the irredentist aims of the Islamists to establish a Muslim-only state in historic Palestine is the very form of self-determination that is repeatedly decried on the part of Israel for being racist, inhumane, internationally criminal, and morally unacceptable. The West’s wide embrace of Palestinianism has been led, for the most part, by the intellectual elites, whose own biases against Israel and the United States serve to animate, and widely promote, the campaign to vilify, defame, and delegitimize Israel. While the ideological antics of anti-Israel student groups are the most visible aspects of the hate-Israel agenda, this acting out and shrill rhetoric from students would be inconsequential were it not for the full intellectual and moral support this movement enjoys from faculty members―those with the prestige and academic muscle to lend credibility and influence to the war of ideas against the Jewish state. The liberal slant of university faculties has made it inevitable that many college professors question the integrity of Zionism, if not forthrightly denounce the very existence of Israel as a moral stain on the world that oppresses Arabs and tars the United States as an accomplice in this perceived unjustified colonial, militaristic oppression. The self-righteous professors who perpetually denounce Israel, though, may or may not have a great moral commitment to the Palestinians at all. In fact, that is often incidental to their primary objective: not to actually assist the Palestinian self-determination with constructive, tactical advice and support—which has always been sorely, and visibly, lacking—but to weaken support for Israel with the ultimate intention, shared by Israel’s jihadist foes, of eventually eliminating it altogether. The phony rectitude which they use to insulate themselves from critique comforts those who would otherwise see the fundamental moral cruelty of their assaults of Israel. And they are also craven in their self-righteousness for taking such a strident stance against Israel, a point of view and a philosophical approach that requires no courage in the Jew-hating West. Of course, virtue-signaling one’s commitment to the oppressed is rampant among the campus Leftists, many of whom feel that, because they seek social justice for the Palestinians and are attempting to strike down what they define as the new Israeli version of apartheid, anything they say or do to delegitimize Israel is acceptable, even necessary. Thus, they hector Israel to mend its political ways not only to end Palestinian suffering, but also, they allege, for the good of both Israelis and Diaspora Jews. These fatuous professors (and their complicit students), who never have had to face any physical threat more serious than being bumped while waiting in line for a latte at Starbucks, are very willing to scold Israel when it defends itself from unceasing rocket attacks from Gaza meant to murder Israeli civilians. These same professors, many of the vilest critics of whom are from departments of humanities, literature, anthropology, history, and sociology, are, without any expertise in military affairs, eager to advise Israeli officials on the rules of war and denounce the lack of “proportionality” in Israel’s attempts to defend its population from jihadist murderers. And so eager are they to publicly assert their righteousness as defenders of the Palestinian cause, they embrace and “eroticize” terroristic violence and willingly align themselves with Israel’s deadly foes who seek its annihilation, catering, as essayist David Solway lyrically put it, “to the ammoniac hatred of the current brood of crypto-antisemites [sic] posing as anti-Zionists.” This cultural condescension, the disingenuous lie from the Left that all cultures are equal, but some are more or less equal, to paraphrase Orwell, leads liberals into the moral trap where they denounce Israel’s military self-defense as being barbaric, criminal, and Nazi-like (because Israel is a powerful, democratic nation) and regularly excuse or apologize for genocidal Arab terrorism as an acceptable and inevitable result of a weak people suffering under Western oppression. Violence on the part of the oppressed is accepted by liberals because it is deemed to be the fault of the strong nations whose subjugation of those defenseless people is the very cause of their violent resistance. In fact, when Israel-loathing Leftist professors, such as Columbia University’s toxic Joseph Massad, apologize for Palestinian terror, he justifies it by characterizing the very existence of Israel as being morally defective, based, in his view, on its inherent racist and imperialist nature. For him, nations that are racist and imperialistic cannot even justify their own self-defense, while the victims of such regimes are free to “resist,” based on the Left’s notion of universal human rights―but especially for the weak. “What the Palestinians ultimately insist on is that Israel must be taught that it does not have the right to defend its racial supremacy,” Massad has written, “and that the Palestinians have the right to defend their universal humanity against Israel's racist oppression.” As part of academia’s fervent desire to make campuses socially ideal settings where racial and cultural strife ceases to exist, Palestinianism gains traction as part of the campaign to realize “social justice” for marginalized victim groups—the long-aggrieved Arab Palestinians among them, now the Third World’s favorite victim. For the Left, according to David Horowitz, a former radical leftist turned conservative, social justice is “the concept of a world divided into oppressors and oppressed.”  Those seeking social justice, therefore, do so with the intention of leveling the economic, cultural, and political playing fields; they seek to reconstruct society in a way that disadvantages the powerful and the elites, and overthrows them if necessary—in order that the dispossessed and weak can acquire equal standing. In other words, the Left yearns for a utopian society which does not yet exist and is willing to reconstruct and overturn the existing status quo—often at a terrible human cost—in the pursuit of seeking so-called “justice” for those who, in their view, have been passed over or abused by history. According to Horowitz, this “radicalism is a cause whose utopian agendas result in an ethic where the ends outweigh and ultimately justify the means,” a view which has meant that Western leftists have come to share sympathy for the tactics and ideology of jihadists who seek to overturn Western ideals in their pursuit of an Islamic caliphate, what Horowitz calls an “unholy alliance” of the Left and Islamists in their pursuit of social justice. In this dangerous alliance, Israel is continually slandered as a racist state, an aggressive, militaristic regime that inflicts disproportionate suffering on the hapless Palestinians, lubricating the argument that this inequality is inherently and inexorably wrong, that it must be corrected and made just. Thus, when such radical student groups as Students for Justice in Palestine have as their core mission, as their name implies, bringing their own vision of justice to the Middle East, it is justice only for the oppressed, the Palestinians, and not for the oppressor, Israel, whose position of power was made possible only because of a “hierarchy of class and race [which] exists globally.” For the Left, social justice is solely for the disenfranchised, the ‘victims’ of unjust Western societies, those whose suffering is ostensibly caused by and is the fault of imperialistic, capitalistic, militant, hegemonic nations—America and Israel foremost among them. And on campuses, where liberal professors have nearly made sacred the politics of race and class and have identified specific sets of favored victim groups for whom justice will be sought, the cult of “victimhood” has even led to compulsory instruction on the mechanics of achieving social justice for the weak in society. This view of the Jew, or of Israel, the Jewish state, as a political destabilizer, is, of course, also central to the ideology of Palestinianism and the notion that the victims of Jewish power are the dispossessed and weak for whom liberal academics purportedly seek justice. Any tactics, including terror and violence, are considered appropriate and excusable in the victims’ cause of throwing off the yoke of oppression, so the Palestinian, clearly made to suffer daily humiliation and endlessly deprived of a homeland and the right to self-determination, has become the perfect example of the contemporary victim archetype, the Third-World “other,” an ever-present, homeless, dispossessed tragic refuge whose plight could be traced directly to supposed colonialism on the part of the “settler” state of Israel. This rationalization, that violence is an acceptable, if not welcomed, component of Palestinianism—that is, that the inherent “violence” of imperialism, colonialism, or capitalism will be met by the same violence as the oppressed attempt to throw off their oppressors—is exactly the style of self-defeating rationality that in this age has proven to be an intractable part of the war on terror. America-hating and Israel-hating academics have not infrequently wished for harm to come to these countries at the hands of the victim groups to whom they readily give their sympathies. They frequently, and mistakenly, ascribe to poverty and helplessness the inclination to lead to terrorism on the part of otherwise weak and oppressed individuals. And, like leftist apologists for revolutionary violence in earlier examples of resistance, they see an opportunity for the tables to be turned on the oppressors and an equal distribution of suffering to be brought about in the resulting power shift. The nearly total rejection by the Left of any recognition of goodness on the part of Western countries, cultivating and promoting Palestinianism, is, according to commentator Melanie Phillips, symptomatic of academics' belief in their own moral superiority, a feature which, at least in their own minds, gives them a more genuine and principled worldview. “In the grip of a group-think that causes them to genuflect to victim-culture and the deconstruction of western morality and the concept of truth,” Phillips wrote, “a dismaying number of our supposedly finest minds have been transformed from people who spread enlightenment to those who cast darkness before them.” Richard L. Social Justice Fail: Smaller Numbers Show up to DACA Protests in Southern California

The illegal alien/amnesty panderers are in freefall.

President Trump actually came through on his promise and he rescinded the unconstitutional DACA program.

Thank God for Trump, and thank God for Jeff Sessions!

Sessions' statements on the scaling back of DACA affirmed that the administration is committed to the rule of law, and ensuring that every person who comes to the United States does so legally, following our pathway to citizenship, which has been laid down clearly for all to follow.

Of course, the DACA brats and their enablers ran into the public square ... again ... to throw a fit and demand what they want when they want it.

Except that last Tuesday, in Downtown Los Angeles, right outside of the Roybal Federal Building, not that many pro-illegals bothered to show up!

It would appear that the pro-illegal phalanx is winding down. Whatever power or moral authority which they had claimed is falling away.

This down-turn in pro-illegal activism is not just taking place in Los Angeles.

Check out what happened in San Diego State, in a college which is only 25 miles away from the USA-Mexico border:

A pro-DACA protest at San Diego State University on Thursday drew roughly 35 demonstrators on a campus of some 25,000 undergrads that’s located just miles from the U.S-Mexico border.

In fact, at times it seemed more people stood observing the spectacle than actually taking part.

Only 35 people?!

More people stood watching that sad parade than those who had participated in it!

Steve Frank of California Political Review shared the following when he reprinted the College Fix article:

Looks like support for illegal aliens has its limits.  You would think support of law breaking would create a large crowd, outside supporters and those wanting an excuse not to attend class.  How supportive are San Diego State students of DACA and illegal aliens?

Not that much, apparently.

“A pro-DACA protest at San Diego State University on Thursday drew roughly 35 demonstrators on a campus of some 25,000 undergrads that’s located just miles from the U.S-Mexico border.

That was it; 35 students. In fact, State Senator Ricardo Lara with the head of the dying "Defend Movement", headed by Silvia "Diet Pills" Merlos could barely round up 30 people in Clara Street Park to stand up to racism and hate.

The reason why? They themselves are the purveyors of racism and hatred, especially Silvia Merlos, who told a group of children in Huntington Park that they were going to get deported--because of the color of their skin:

As it went on, more people showed up to watch the afternoon protest, but the event did not last for very long, as it appeared not many wanted to speak. The megaphone would often sit on the ground for some moments untouched before another protester would pick it up.

This is great news for all Americans, especially in California, and Trump supporters in particular.

This "DREAM" movement is dying and fast. Ted Kennedy cannot bring it back to life, and neither can the weak, feckless Democratic Party minorities in Congress. Republicans in the House are working very hard to ensure that there is no amnesty of any kind.

In the US Senate, there will be a struggle for US Senators to put anything on the floor.

So, 25,000 students, thousands of staff, ignored this call for breaking the law.  THAT is the demonstration that should have been reported, not the losers begging for attention, to see how many laws that want broken.

With this comment I take some exception. The College Fix did indeed report that the 25,000 students, and the surrounding people watching the demonstration did not participate. No one cared. The nightmarish illegal kids are not getting any kind of sympathy anymore.

Indeed today, reports from different newspapers about upcoming DACA demonstrations suggest that hundreds, not thousands, will be showing up.

I was expecting thousands today!

I guess these illegal aliens and pandering, enabling activists are starting to realize that Americans of all backgrounds are fed up with these whiny, destructive, entitled brats who think that the United States owes them something.

Delusional (Rich White) SJWs Protest Trump Golf Course in Palos Verdes (SAD!)

I received an email last Sunday.

Apparently, George Soros was sponsoring another anti-Trump protest, this time in Palos Verdes!

Wow! The flailing phalanx of the illiberal Left was coming to my backyard!

Within hours, these ads disappeared from the Internet.

I decided to call the Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes anyway, just in case.

The staffers there informed me that they know about this protest.

Can you imagine a large, rabid group of protesters clambering along the sidewalks and pathways of the Trump Golf course?

Unreal.

I drove down about an hour after the protests were supposed to begin.

I noticed a grand total of five protesters, including one boy who didn't look like he wanted to be there.

Here's the recording of my interview with these rich, white, yet barely informed anti-Trump social justice warriors:

They weren't too keen on explaining why they were there.

Some of these liberals are at a loss for words ... and ideas.

This older lady came at me, and prided herself as a 40-plus teacher in LA Schools.

I am sure that LAUSD was a great place to work ... fifty years ago:

Love Trumps Hate.

Yes indeed, and Trump is Trumping the hate of the Left, and their insipid borderline dangerous stupidity!

I asked them plainly: "How much were you paid to be here."

They claimed that no one had paid them. OK.

At length I repeatedly asked for information.

The one man in the group was willing to talk to me for a minute or two. He was willing to engage on some ideas:

A strange date to write down, especially since the election was November 8th, and Trump was called the winner just before the evening hours ended.

So, why did civility die this past week?

The man repeated to me "You know why. You know why."

Actually, I did not know, since he was holding up the sign, and I wanted to understand his reason."

He them claimed that Trump was uncivil.

I would back away from asserting that Trump was coarse and blunt at times. Many times. His anti-PC take-down of the media, the political elites, the Establishment, and the Left was quite refreshing!

He then brought up the attacks against "Lyin' Ted."

No, I did not like those attacks, but Ted Cruz had gotten past the barbs and attacks during the primary, supported Donald Trump, and helped Republicans up and down the ticket win big across the country.

At this point, the woman card came up. Blah Blah Blah.

He's married, has wonderful kids, and women across the country love him.

They just had to play the gender card, claiming that Donald Trump hates women.

I know plenty of women who love Donald Trump!

Sorry if the setting of these photos seems haphazard, but there is not enough time in the day to post the number of women, singly or in large groups, on any blog the number of warm and welcoming women who stand with Trump!

The Left loves to beat down Republicans and conservatives because they are not angelic paragons of virtue, but they stand by men who have raped, assaulted, exploited women for their own perverse needs (Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, etc.) Their double-standard is so sad, and their petty insistence on doubling-down on these dead hollow talking points has exposed how empty the movement has become.

This lady wanted to shake me hand, and I greeted her:

She doesn't share Trump's values.

But what values she specifically disagrees with, she wasn't clear.

She did talk about the things he said about immigrants

What did Trump say about immigrants that was offensive?

They couldn't tell me.

Then she mentioned refugees. I told her flatly that we have every right to determine who enters our coutnry, and who doesn't. Federal officials have admitted to the public that they cannot properly vet very refugee, especially the Muslim ones, who enter this country.

They can't, and the United States cannot afford any more terrorist attacks on soil, from domestic residents as well as foreign visitors.

As expected, the one man referred to Timothy McVeigh, an American who below up the Oklahoma City building for the Bureac of Alcohol Tobacco, and Firearms.

Indeed, I recognized that brazen, evil act as terror. But the attempt to  draw a moral equivalence, as though we should ignore radical Islam as a source of terror--he never justified that argument.

The old former teacher got really close to me, she started threatening claiming, that I had not right to record them. Tough! It's a public place, and they were standing on the corner of the driveway into Trump Golf Course. Their whole point for being there was to be seen, wasn't it?

The younger lady in a black tank top run across the street after a few minutes. She simply refused to answer any questions. The older lady then told me to stop "hijacking their protest."

What protest, exactly? I am not sure they knew what they were talking about, or what they were angry about.

As I walked down the driveway to Trump Golf Course, I noticed one driver give the little group of social justice warriors the "thumbs down".

No kidding.

Well, since I was up there finally, I decided to pay a visit. Anyone can come in and say hello to staffers.

They were very kind, and the decor was really outstanding.

When Trump founded his golf course on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, he got a lot of grief from the city council over the flag pole he placed on the ground.

No one can uestion Trump's patriotism. Despite the complaints of entitled property owner son the Peninsula, who claimed that the American Flag flying in the wind was ruining their view of the Ocean, Trump refused to take the flag and remove the flag pole.

Good for Trump!

It was great to troll the silly, rich, white, spoiled, delusion social justice warriors, and take some photos there:

Los Angeles County, California is the most populated county in the country.

(California also has the largest county by square mile, but at least it’s far more conservative).

Los Angeles County has deep poverty in its urban core, with an elitist political class that distances itself from the cultural and economic problems of its own making.

The homelessness! It is staggering, unprecedented, and unrelenting.

Local activists have sprung up all over the county, especially in the Greater Los Angeles area, to combat this perversity.

Even in my hometown—Torrance, CA—I have seen more transients brazenly sleeping on sidewalks, wandering up and down streets. This problem requires immediate attention. Of course, the left-wing geniuses who have overrun Los Angeles city and county government want to float a multi-million dollar bond.

More government money cannot solve the homelessness problem in Los Angeles County.

It’s the culture, stupid!

At the heart of the anti-truth, anti-life, anti-right illiberal regressive cult overwhelming The County of Angels? Aggressive, Anti-Social In-Justice Warriors. Is anyone surprised in our own backyard we have UCLA, USC, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Los Angeles (where Screaming Welfare queen Maxine Waters got her “education”, and where conservative columnist Ben Shapiro was nearly chased out), and Cal State Northridge (where aggressive anti-life and anti-marriage students forced out Professor Robert Oscar Lopez for his views on marriage).

LA area colleges have gotten good at being bad, not just with execrable curricula which ignore things like truth, research, and honest inquiry. Indoctrination and left-wing activism are the rule of the day. Conservative students get shut down. If you’re a conservative in student government, you face losing your college stipend. Jacob Ellenhorn, the President of the USC College Republicans, lost his pay for inviting Milo Yiannopoulos, for example.

What has happened to this region? The People’s Republic of Los Angeles is the new normal? Be afraid, people, be afraid.

When We the People Rising cheered for LA County Sheriff Jim McDonnell signaled his support for ICE to return to LA County jails, illegal alien supporters chanted up and down the steps, flashed their home-made scenes, and screeched at the press. I have witnessed this hatred many times. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed (plus the fear of more deaths at the hands of violent illegals, and the lawsuits certain to follow).

Sadly, from the appointment of two illegal aliens to city commission in Huntington Park, to the sanctuary city syndrome sickening major municipalities (including Los Angeles, of course!) the scourge of lawlessness has become background noise.

And those illegal alien activists … they are as common as dirt—and they act that way, too!

For the past year, I have clashed with these regressive frauds throughout the region.

I never thought I would have to endure their dangerous stupidity in the South Bay …

I had mentioned last week about Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s visit to the West Carson Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on September 25th.

I did not, however, feature the disgusting abuse of the Anti-Social In-Justice Warriors (AIWs) who descended on our event. I want the world to know how obstreperous they were, and I want everyone who reads this to realize how serious the stakes are for this election, and our future efforts as conservatives take back our cities, our states, and this country.

The AIWS trespassed on private property. The sidewalk outside of this Veterans Hall does not belong to any passerby. Three times the organizers of our event informed them to take their protest to the sidewalk along the street. They refused.

Already lawless.

The attacks continued as one of the protesters seized the phone of my good friend Johnnie Maul, who has connected with young Republicans throughout the county. He brought in six more to my club, the Beach Cities Republicans (the prior President now serves as my state assemblyman!).

More lawlessness.

Then this crazy black protester, dressed in a pink shawl that doubled as a dress, shouted every stupid, left-wing cliché imaginable: “This is our country! Black and Brown! My people built this county! You all go back to your caves! F—k Trump!”

Yes. Crazy.

She later turned on the black conservative in our group, another one of the Arpaio event’s organizers. This racist protester slammed her as a “House N—gga!” and then “Sell out!” The other members of this abusive rabble joined the chant “Sell out! Sell out!” And the media tells the world that Republicans are racist?

Did I forget to mention that another AIW pushed one of our members to the ground? And another punched—yes, punched!—a veteran who worked at the hall? They also spat at our veterans!

We’re not just dealing with Cry-Bullies, people. Los Angeles County is teeming with domestic terrorists who masquerade as activists with bearing communist red shirts and promoting Socialist candidate Gloria de la Riva for President.

Let’s not forget that they confronted our guest Sheriff Joe Arpaio with middle fingers blaring, and vicious insulting flaring. How can they call themselves anything associated with justice?

And who was instigating, leading this disturbing scene, a mockery of the First Amendment, particularly freedom of speech and association? Jimmy Gow, the President of the Torrance Democratic Club. You can see him in the above photo—black glasses and blond spiky hair—consenting to this travesty, and at other points in the “demonstration”, he justified the destructive behavior of the group and smiled!

This is the Democratic Party of today even in center-right Torrance CA: a ruthless mob of communistic hate-mongers with no regard for natural rights or the rule of law.

And they define the political temperament of Los Angeles County. But don’t worry, my fellow conservatives! With your help (and outreach), we are going to punch back twice as hard at these insolent, spoiled brats and teach them to mind their manners, and respect our rights—even here in ultra-liberal Los Angeles County.
