Texas Governor Rick Perry had his chance to make his case to the American people.
In the last debate, he even poked fun at his previous inability to remember the three departments he would cut once in office as the next Commander in Chief.
He was an able and persuasive governor of the Lone Star State, yet his overreaching attempts to reach out to the Tea Party have backfired once again.
Instead of scolding the rest of the GOP candidates for their time in Washington, he should have stuck to the script of making Washington D.C. less relevant in the daily lives of the American people.
In the last debate before the primary, Perry actualized declared that he would send troops back into Iraq! The Tea Party movement wants to cut spending, even if that means cutting and running from ruinous foreign entanglements that are bankrupting this country.
Governor Perry’s hyperbolic spirit came to the forefront once again, demonstrating that he is more at home in the Lone Star State than attempting to wheel and deal in Washington D.C. A presidential candidate who has defended the unsustainable subsidy of in-state tuition to illegal immigrants does not deserve to have a role in the national polity, either.
Governor Perry, it’s time to go home. Pack it up, and move on back to the ranch.
