The Texas Congressman has formed meaningful and cogent policies for dealing with this country's immigration issues.
He wants to protect the borders. He suggests that the United States must bring back our troops stationed along foreign borders all over the world. We have no business policing the border between North and South Korea, or the fraught faultlines that currently separate India and Pakistan.
Unlike the other three candidates, Congressman Paul has indicted the overly generous welfare state which attracts so many illegals and bankrupts municipal services, including health and education.
He has no interest in prosecuting individuals who hire illegals. He would rather deal with the size and scope of the issue at the state and federal levels.
He has not waffled on this issue. I just wish that he and the other candidates would point out the damage that illegal immigration does to the Hispanic community. Despite the lack of attention to this issue, Paul has not put forward a compassionate, obsequious plan for attacking the problem of illegal immigration.
With less government, less confusion, more concerted effort from the states, the United States will be able to fight back the tide of illegal immigration. Beyond this, the Congressman wants to streamline the process whereby individuals seek to become legal citizens of this country. Every effort must be made to support legal immigration into this country. Even Governor Romney made the point that the GOP is the party of legal immigration. Congressman Paul represents that principle adequately.
