BIT OF SURPRISE! Yesterday, the Sanctuary State bill, SB 54, was moved to the CA State Assembly Rules Committee rather than to the assembly floor for a vote. I called and spoke with the Assembly Rules Committee Bill Referral Consultant. He said they received the Sanctuary State bill, SB 54 today. He did not know specifically why SB 54 had been referred back to the Rules Committee. He said I could call back on Monday. There will be no public hearing. He said that a bill can move from the Rules Committee directly to the full assembly floor vote.
ALL BILLS MUST BE VOTED UPON BY FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH.
CALL NOW! Take this bill and shelve it.
PLEASE CALL THE ASSEMBLY RULES COMMITTEE TO EXPRESS YOUR OPPOSITION TO THE SANCTUARY STATE BILL SB 54. TELL THE COMMITTEE THAT SB 54 SHOULD NOT BE MOVED FORWARD FOR AN ASSEMBLY FLOOR VOTE.
