Stop Listening to Our Fathers--and Start Listening to The Father

 We have to get past the knowledge of our parents and go to the wisdom of God the Father.

For the longest time, I vacillated between the opinions of my mother and my father. I have only recently learned how wrong they BOTH were, on so many issues.

Unlike many people, I have no problem looking past the two options which are usually placed before us on a number of issues.

I have gotten more accustomed to recognizing that whatever ideas are presented in an either/or fashion, there is often a great way to come up with other options in the midst of them, or outside of their scope entirely.

I don't feel the need to be bitter toward my parents. I realize what they did not know about the Gospel of Grace, and what I have learned today because I have learned so much from the preaching of Pastor Joseph Prince and Pastor Bob George, among many others. So grateful for their work in restoring the Gospel of Grace, that Jesus has finished the Work and given us Himself.

Amen!

We need to seek not the wisdom of our fathers, but the Father. We need the love of the Father, not just the love of our earthly fathers. This is not to disparage the work and the witness of the men and women who raised us. 

But no matter what we are facing, not matter what we have learned, we need the love of THE Father!

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)

The wisdom of our earthly fathers cannot compare with the Wisdom of the Father. In fact, let us never forget that "Christ is our wisdom" (1 Corinthians 1:30)

One final thought ...

I have listened to so many older men talk about their convictions and beliefs, and many of them acknowledge that their beliefs come from what their fathers told them. "I know that William F. Buckley was a racist, because my father said so, and my father would never tell a lie."

Perhaps your father did not lie to you, but what he said was not true. 

Consider also what my father used to say about lying: "My father told me not to lie, because you are too stupid to keep track of your lies."

But what does the Bible say about lying?

"Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another." (Ephesians 4:25)

and

"Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;" (Colossians 3:9)

We don't tell lies because they are not commensurate with our new nature, our new identity, our new creation as Christ's own, adopted into the Family of God.

We need to stop listening to our fathers, and start listening to the Father!

Few of us understand how truly evil and tyrannical public officials can become in their efforts to appease the LGBT movement’s unbridled obsession with pushing their agenda on children. Unfortunately, most people don’t contemplate that previously unimaginable excesses by the state (as writers like Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn warned us) are never too far away.

The government of Canada has decided that if a parent does not cooperate with his minor child’s decision to have a sex-change operation, he will face criminal punishment – including prison time.

As we reported back in February 2020, Rob Hoogland of Surrey, British Columbia is living that horror story. The courts there have ruled that his 14-year-old daughter, who believes she is “transgender” (thanks to school propaganda), can be given medical procedures to “change” her sex to a boy – despite her father’s fierce objections.

These procedures include puberty-blockers, opposite-sex hormones, likely followed by surgical procedures. According to the “gender clinic” hospital’s own consent form (which the father refused to sign), these drugs are experimental and will cause sterility and other dangerous side effects, such as unhealthy bone growth. The effects are irreversible. But the judges and other government officials are ignoring those dangers.

Moreover, the court has ordered that Rob may not discuss publicly any details about what is happening to his daughter. In addition, the court has ordered that he may not refer to his daughter by her actual female name; he must refer to her as “Quinn” and as “he/him.”

But Rob has refused to abide by that draconian gag order. He has been interviewed in various conservative media and has named the hideous doctors at the “gender clinic,” LGBT lawyers, judges, government officials, police officials, and others who have contributed to this destruction of his daughter’s body. And MassResistance has supported him throughout most of this ordeal.

In addition, anyone in Canada who has posted articles or videos that disobey that ban and publish Rob's comments has been ordered to remove them under threat of arrest.

Facing prison time for revealing what is being done

What is happening to Rob now is every parent’s nightmare. He is now considered a criminal.

On April 13-16 he faces a criminal trial for the “crime” of publicly discussing the names of the doctors. He could be sent to prison for five years.

This Tuesday, March 16, he will also be in court and will be served with an arrest warrant for recent “crimes” of talking publicly about his daughter. He will likely be sent to jail for at least 10 days, and possibly until his April trial begins.

But unlike a lot of parents who would have cowered and given up under this kind of tyranny, Rob Hoogland is resolute about fighting this battle. On Thursday he talked with Arthur Schaper of MassResistance.

Here’s some of what Rob told us in this interview:

I’m thinking about these doctors. Here I am facing time in prison. And these two doctors who are so proud of the work that they do in transitioning children are actually cowards hiding behind children. They are continuing to commit what I consider crimes against humanity. And they are using the government to silence me so that I can’t call them out on this. If they are so proud of it, why are they in hiding? Why won’t they come out and tell everybody how great it is what they are doing?

This speaks volumes as to what they’re trying to cover up. They don’t want you to know what they’re doing with your children. And by disguising it as a “policy” they don’t have to tell parents what’s going on with it. What they will tell you is that it is used to protect children from their parents. How insane is that? Because, they are saying, "Parents are biased, parents will discriminate, parents will do all these terrible things because they don’t agree that their child who is a girl, is really a boy. So we need to protect these children from their parents."

They’re taking kids during school time out to get [hormone] shots. Parents don’t know what’s going on until it’s too late. They’re not even informing parents that their child is being “transitioned” anymore.

Rapists get two years in prison. I’m looking at five years. Put that into perspective. That tells you how important this is to the government in their experimenting on children.

But these kids are going to be handed a life sentence. It’s irreversible. They will be sterile. They won’t have families. A lot of them will eventually choose to commit suicide because you’re compounding their mental health issues with this. They’ve been falsely told that they can change from a girl to a boy, which is impossible, and now they’re somewhere in the middle. So my five years is nothing compared to the prison these kids are being put into for the rest of their lives.

There’s that moment where a court tells the parent who’s against this that their child’s going to be given cross-sex hormones regardless of what they want. And that moment is such a defeating moment because you know that your child is now going to be irreversibly damaged. And to sit and watch that happen knowing it was completely avoidable is the worst feeling for a parent.

A lot of people are still in denial about all this. They’ll hear my story and say, "Rob must be exaggerating. It can’t be like that. This is Canada. There’s no way this can be happening."

You guys at MassResistance are one of the leading examples of how we need to fight this, because we’re beyond diplomacy on this matter. We’re at war. And people have to wake up. We’re not going to “negotiate” with them anymore. It’s like negotiating with terrorists who are experimenting with your children. You can’t do it. So people need to stop pretending that’s a path forward. This is a war for the lives of our children and future generations. That’s why I love what you guys do at MassResistance because you recognize this is a war.

Those who think that this madness will never come to the United States, or other countries, are deluding themselves. The LGBT movement is insatiable, and the unending willingness of public officials to do its bidding has a long history already.

This is Dan Rather commenting on the "Thank Trump" trend that emerged on Twitter today. And this is the pettiness that he exemplifies, which represents the never-ending Trump Derangement Syndrome which overcame the media five years ago. 

Do these media hacks know no shame? 

 Recall that Dand Rather is a disgraced former media hack, too. In 2004, Rather reported a story claiming that then President George W. Bush lied about his service in the United States airforce. This controversy was known as the "Killian Documents controversy", although it later became known as Memogate or Rathergate.

Why?

 The whole "scoop" turned into a failed fiasco, because the so-called "smoking gun" letter was clearly faked. Any competent journalist would have walked away from such a fraudulent story, but Rather was a media hack, and he ran with it purely for partisan reasons. 

The disgrace of this fraud was so great, he was forced to retire early. Of course, back in 2004, there were journalistic standards of a sort, and bad reporters were held accountable. Nowadays, reporters don't hide their political bias or their propagandist spirit, and they get lauded for it.

 The public hearing on Bill 427 before the Montana House Judiciary Committee faced a full-court press by the LGBT lobby, the radical medical establishment, and more.

The powerful and well-financed transgender movement suffered a big loss as pro-family Republicans and MassResistance refused to give up on an important push to protect vulnerable children from permanent damage to their bodies.

Initial loss shocked parents and families

We reported on Feb. 2 that bill 113 to ban the ghastly transgender “sex-change” procedures (both surgeries and hormone treatments) being done on children was defeated 51-49 in the Montana House of Representatives. It was a tremendous shock to people in that state.

These “medical procedures” permanently change and disfigure a child, often result in sterilization, and cause enormous trauma lasting a lifetime. But they are big money-makers for so-called “gender clinics” in children’s hospitals (and many smaller clinics), as well as “Big Pharma.” The transgender push on children is an important part of the LGBT ideology, which has now been accepted throughout corporate America.

Even though the Montana Legislature is dominated by Republicans, 19 Republicans caved in and voted against that bill. They would not stand up to the enormous pressure from organized LGBT activists, the Montana Hospital Association, and even the Montana Chamber of Commerce.

The sponsor of Bill 113 was Rep. John Fuller, a wonderful pro-family fighter. Immediately after the bill’s defeat, Rep. Fuller filed a Motion to Reconsider. But that was defeated by an even greater margin, 53-46, as more Republicans caved in. The situation looked bleak.

Not giving up: Bill was re-filed!

MassResistance activists in Montana strongly encouraged Rep. Fuller and the other key lawmakers who had pushed for Bill 113 not to give up. They agreed that the damage being done to vulnerable children was too horrific to call it quits.

Working with another legislator who had a draft for legislation which could cover subjects relating to health issues, Rep. Fuller introduced a revised version of the initial bill. The new bill was titled HB 427.

Because of the Montana legislature’s rules of procedure, a new bill has to be considerably different, or it will get struck down as redundant. For that reason, HB 427 only bans the transgender surgeries. It does not include puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. This legislation is not perfect, but it’s much better than nothing. And because of this difference, the House leadership – which had opposed Bill 113 – decided not to oppose Bill 427. The bill passed its procedural review in the House Rules Committee, 12-7.

The big fight: House Judiciary Committee Hearing

Before it could go to the full House, it had to get through the House Judiciary Committee.

The House Judiciary Committee hearing for Bill 427 and several other bills convened on Feb. 22 – at 7:00 am in the morning! The small committee hearing room included nearly a dozen LGBT activists and supporters from across Montana. Others had signed up to testify remotely via Zoom. The hearing on Bill 427 was allowed to go on for only a little more than an hour.

At the hearing, Rep. Fuller spoke first on Bill 427. In fairly strong terms, he reminded the committee members that government has a right and responsibility to step in and protect children – even against pressure from special interests.

The proponents of the bill spoke first. Although our side had wide support across the state, we only had four people who were willing to publicly testify. Luckily, one of them was our National Director, Arthur Schaper who anticipated what the opponents would say and demolished their regular talking points. The director of the Montana Family Foundation also spoke.

About 20 people spoke against the bill, in person and via Zoom. They ranged from recent high school graduates (fully propagandized) to adult “transgenders,” left-wing activist groups (including Planned Parenthood), radical medical people (including a pediatrician, a surgeon, and psychiatrist!) and, of course, parents of “transgender children.”

Their range of arguments were quite chilling, offensive, full of obvious lies, and pointedly ridiculous. But it was clearly well organized and rehearsed. They repeated over and over the LGBT propaganda that not allowing these mutilating medical operations on children would somehow “hurt” so-called “transgender youth.” It was a testament to the power and ideological force of the LGBT movement even out in Montana.

At the end of the hearing Rep. Fuller spoke again. Then a vote was taken and the bill passed out of committee, 11-8.

The pro-LGBT contingent was well-organized and well-rehearsed with their disinformation and irrational talking points.

 Misinformation. This woman is a pediatric urologist who falsely claimed that the bill would ban surgeries on children to correct deformities or to treat cancer or urinary problems. In fact, the text of the bill specifically excludes issues not related to gender dysphoria or gender transition.

 Misguided emotion. This person, with the "Montana Human Rights Network," claimed that a 19-year-old male-to-female "transgender" attempted suicide last week because he heard that this bill had been re-introduced - and that bills like this cause suicides, and also have "devastating effects on the economy."

Votes on the full House floor – it passed this time!

From there, Bill 427 went to the House floor. Since the House leadership wasn’t opposed and our side kept up the pressure, this time the momentum was with it!

In Montana, a bill needs to pass the House twice to move on to the Senate. On Feb. 24, it passed by 59-40. On Feb. 25 it passed by even more, 60-38.

And on to the Senate. One of our MassResistance activists is a Montana State Senator. He and others tell us that it should have no trouble getting through the Senate! There haven’t been any committee hearings scheduled yet. But this time we will have a MUCH stronger force for testimony!

Final reflection

The conservative movement is known for quitting when things go south. We don’t believe in quitting!

But the fact that this was such a hard battle in a red state like Montana shows the power of the huge money behind these radical and very destructive left-wing causes, even in the most conservative of states. But that’s been a problem for over 50 years. Wealthy conservatives do not want to fund grassroots activism to fight back – especially against the LGBT movement, but also other radical movements like Black Lives Matter. This is not likely to change – but it means that all of us need to work harder than the other side with the resources we have!

Gaining Victories in Montana, Overshadowed by Stunning Setback in “Deeply Conservative” Utah

In states across the country, more legislatures are taking a firm stance against the transgender agenda. For years, MassResistance warned the public that the LGBT agenda, which started with normalizing homosexuality, would not stop with private behaviors between two consenting adults. The redefinition, and thus destruction of marriage, has given way to an all-out assault on sex itself. Today, transgender activists around the country—around the world—are demanding the right to erase sex, to allow biological men to compete against women in women’s sports and use women’s restrooms and fitting rooms.

MassResistance assisted with the passage of H 509 in the state of Idaho last year, the first state to ban biological males from competing against women in women’s sports.

In two more states, MassResistance has been assisting lawmakers to pass legislation further curtailing the spread of this destructive agenda

Utah

State Rep. Rex Shipp (R- Cedar City) introduced HB 92, legislation which ban all gender mutilation procedures on children. The staffers in the Utah State Legislature were very helpful, working closely with MassResistance and our lead activists.

For the first few weeks of the legislative session, the Utah House Leadership kept the bill in the House Rules Committee. Such tactics are enacted in order to delay the movement and success of a bill which certain interests don’t want to deal with.

Finally, however, the bill was released to the House Health and Human Services Committee. The chairman of the committee, Rep. Nelson Merrill (R-Grantsville) indicated head of the hearing that he supported the bill. Furthermore, Rep. Shipp provided for a number of witnesses, including endocrinologist Quentin Van Meter and pro-family psychologist Dr. Miriam Grossman. Former transgender also testified in favor of the legislation.

In contrast, the forces opposing HB 92 included Equality Utah, the LGBT organization well-funded with corporate money. Academics from Brigham Young University also testified in opposition to the legislation. They relied on the same emotional arguments as well as arguments from authority.

The hearing took a turn for the worse, however, when one of the members of the Committee introduced a substitute motion to table the bill and return it to the Rules Committee. What was going on? Rep. Robert Spendlove suggested that there was more language in the bill than had been presented at its first introduce in the Rules Committee. Other committee members pressed the sponsor of the bill on whether the government had any business stepping into a decision that involved a parent and his or her children. “Do you support forced vaccinations?” one committee member asked.

Of course, these arguments were complete non sequiturs, but rather prove that the LGBT lobby in Utah is far more powerful that people realize. Utah is a conservative state, governed by a GOP trifect (both houses run by GOP majorities and a Republican Governor) for more than three decades.

And yet, the current governor, Spencer Cox, is actively and openly pro-LGBT. He even called a press conference a few days prior to signal his opposition to HB 302, a bill which would ban biological boys form competing against girls.

Big money and strong organization  outmuscled our efforts in the committee hearing that day. The Utah MassResistance chapter leader, Robert Gneiting, also reported that the LGBT activists took up all the seats in the hearing early on. On top of that, the committee hearing was cut drastically short, and a number of proponents who were prepared to testify were cut. Even a video testimony, prepared by Rep. Shipp and his intern Austin Johnson, did not broadcast properly and had to be scrapped. Robert Gneiting reported to us after the committee meeting that it seemed as though there were some very bad elements at work in the meeting that day to frustrate every effort to pass HB 92 to a floor vote.

Is HB 92 dead? Not yet. The bill remains in the House Rules Committee for now, but the sponsor intends to bring the bill forward during a House Interim Committee during the summer months, and then will bring the forward the bill next year.

The biggest lessons that came out of the Utah committee hearing for MassResistance activists:

1.       The LGBT lobby in Utah is very organized, and they have even gained the ear and the support of key leaders in the Utah Republican Party, and the Republican leadership in the state house.

2.       LGBT activists prepared a wide array of testimonies, and they even relied on supposedly conservative arguments—like keeping the government out of families’ private affairs—in order to sway conservative votes on the committee to send the bill back to Rules Committee.

3.       Pro-family testimonials relied on facts, while LGBT opponents relied on emotion and personal testimonies more directly.

While the outcome of the hearing was not to our liking, MassResistance activists gained valuable insight on the more effective ways to make key arguments in favor of this legislation and others like it. Our activists are still contacting key lawmakers in the state senator to ensure passage of HB 302, and our chapter is growing weekly as more people want to step up and stop the rapid spread of the LGBT agenda in the state of Utah.

Dr. Miriam Grossman shared other details about the hearing. She was originally slated to speak for six minutes, but then she was cut off to four minutes. She pointed out that one of the members of the committee asked about the irreversibility of puberty blockers. Dr. Grossman was more than prepared to speak on this issue.  They ignored her for the rest of the meeting, and she logged off in disgust.

She then added that the gender clinic director gave a number of false statements.

Montana

In a previous post, we reported to you how Montana MassResistance activists were working with law makers to pass two key bills:

1.       HB 112, which would ban biological males from competing against women in women’s sports.

2.       HB 113, which would ban sex reassignment surgeries and puberty blockers on children.

HB 112 passed out of the Montana State House with little opposition. HB 113, however, faced unprecedented challenges. Out of 100 members, only 53 voted for the bill on Second Reading. On Third Reading, the bill FAILED 49-51.

It was really shocking! Why would any lawmaker vote against legislation to protect children from the irreversible damage caused by gender mutilation procedures and surgeries? Also, keep in mind that the “pro-family” Republican Party holds a supermajority in both chambers. Very quickly, we found out that LGBT activists in large numbers overwhelmed members of the legislature, both in committee and just before the floor vote. Also, major business interests, working through the Montana Chamber of Commerce, pressured a number of key lawmakers to switch their votes at the last minute.

Our activists encouraged the key lawmakers pushing for this common-sense legislation not to give up. Rep. Fuller filed a motion to reconsider HB 113. Sadly, that motion also failed, and by a wider margin: 46-53.

Montana MassResistance activists continued to show all the support that they could for this effort. Thankfully, brave lawmakers with tenacity like Rep. Fuller refused to call it quits. Working with another legislator who had a draft for legislation which could cover subjects relating to health issues, Fuller introduced a revised version of the initial bill, which was labeled HB 427. Because of the Montana legislature’s rules of procedure, a new bill has to be considerably different, or it will get struck down as redundant. The bill passed its first review in the House Rules Committee, 12-7.

With Fuller’s new bill, HB 427, the legislation only bans the transgender surgeries. There is no focus on puberty blockers or hormones. This legislation is not perfect, but it’s better than nothing.

Judiciary Committee Hearing, February 22, 2021

Rep. Fuller delivered his full remarks in favor of the legislation. He indicated his interest in protecting children, and he pointed out that the government has a right and responsibility to step into these matters.

Four people spoke in favor of the legislation, including the head of the Montana Family Foundation, a local pastor, a private citizen, and Arthur Schaper, the Organization Director for MassResistance. Our presence at the meeting was reported by one of the statewide media organizations, too!

When HB 427 came before the House Judiciary Committee, the strain on the LGBTQ advocates in the room became apparent, particularly after testimony from bill proponents. Of the four people who spoke in favor of the proposal, three made derogatory remarks about transgender and nonbinary people, citing personally held religious or social beliefs. One of them was part of the national anti-LGBTQ group MassResistance, which has been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Learning key talking points and insights from the Utah House Health and Human Services Committee the previous week, Arthur commented that parental rights are not absolute. Governments have a responsibility to protect the natural rights of all, including children. Arthur’s testimony also foreshadowed the remarks that LGBT activists often make, and he refuted many of them before the LGBT activists themselves could testify in opposition to HB 427.

Those arguments proved far more effective.

The bill passed out of committee, 11-8, but what was remarkable about the hearing was that thirty people spoke against the bill, in person and online. Medical professionals, left-wing activist groups representing so-called “Indigenous Rights”, along with representatives from the ACLU and other young activists showed up to speak out against the bill.

This lopsided example of advocacy shows the power of big money behind these left-wing causes, even in the most conservative of states. There are plenty of activists and advocates for the LGBT agenda, and they are prepared to speak out at every possible hearing. If conservatives across the country, even in blue states, had similar tenacity, this destructive agenda would not have spread as far as it has already!

Following the hearing in Judiciary, the legislation was assigned a Second Reading floor vote on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. The bill passed, by a strong margin, too!

 

Because the legislation did not contain anything connected with blocking puberty blockers, the House leadership had no problems with the bill.

The bill passed on Third Reading with a 60-40 vote and is now headed to the Montana State Senate, where the Republican caucus is more conservative, and they intend to support the bill with less opposition.

"Aqua Man", Conversion, Therapy, and the Truth

In Singapore, there is a growing movement to discredit and ultimately ban reparative therapy, falsely referred to as "conversion therapy". Part of the reason LGBT activists insist on calling this life-saving therapy "conversion therapy" is that they want to discredit this life-saving practice as a figment of religious superstition, and nothing more.

Reparative therapy has a number of professional clinicians around the world, and the therapy involves cognitive, vocal, and emotional practices. There is no physical harm used, and there is no shaming or dishonor employed. The lies of the LGBT hate groups around the world have spread nonstop lies to dissuade countries and psychological associations to reject this therapy.

In the United States, more courts are striking down reparative therapy bans, but sadly in other parts of the world, the lies remain pervasive and persist that "conversion therapy" is inherently flawed, false, and harmful.

A number of reparative therapists are providing more consistent research to combat these falsehoods, as well.

Now, in Singapore, a new five-minute documentary has come out: "Aqua Man."

"Aqua" is a play on words, meaning "weak or broken" but also "homosexual" in Chinese.

It's a movie short, five minutes, focused on the intense conflict of a young man, Junjie, who is struggling with same-sex attraction.  As he walks into his HDB flat after a long day at school, he sees his mother and a local pastor. The mother beckons her son to come to the pastor, who then gently places his hands on the son's head, and so does the mother. The pastor then leads a prayer, asking God to help the young Junjie break free of the "demon of homosexuality."

Clearly torn and writhing in pain, the boy pushes away the hands of his mother and the pastor, then retreats to the side of the room. The mother aggressively grabs his shoulders, confronts him for pushing away the pastor. The boy starts crying, he admits that he has tried to stop the same-sex feelings that he struggles with, but he still is attracted to other males.

The mother tries to bring her son back to the pastor. In the struggle to resist her, the son inadvertently pushes his mother to the ground. He tries to apologize, but overcome with frustration as well as grief, he just walks out of the HDB flat.

This is a very poignant film short, and yet its very pointed message is wrong on so many levels. There is proper criticism of the so-called "conversion therapy" that takes place, but the larger problems lie in the ... lies about what Christianity, what the Gospel is really about.

There are elements in this film short which inadvertently provide better insight into what Junjie is really struggling with, too.

First, I want to deal with some accurate criticisms portrayed in the movie.

True reparative therapy is not "pray the gay away." It's understandable that people of faith that prayer works, and it does, but people have to pray with a proper understanding of who they are in Christ, and how He wants us to receive all things from Him (Romans 8:32). Despite all of htis, the LGBT lobby relies heavily on atired, fraudulent trope regarding "pray the gay away" precisely to discredit the truth that people are not "born that way" and that proper therapeutic treatment can help people break free from unwanted same-sex temptations. There is no evidence that people are born gay, that it is a genetic trait of some kind, or that people are born in the wrong body and require some kind of corrective surgeries.

Sadly, though, there are too many religious groups that rely on prayer or the power of suggestion to deal with the emotional and mental traumas which individuals are grappling with, which undergird those same-sex temptations. When they are in the midst of their struggles with same-sex temptations, they need truth, and prayer that amounts to nothing more than "begging God" is not helpful.

Also, people of faith are not dealing with the true origins of the conflict if they label homosexual feelings "demonic". True, there are demonic forces in the world, but they transmit lies, and make people believing the wrong things, which induce bad thoughts, negative emotions, and unwanted desires. 

Jesus said to the Israelites of His day: "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." (John 8:32)

Just setting people down, praying over them with a droning pattern of psychological suggestion does not set people free. There is real pain, real torment for people who are struggling with these feelings, and they need someone to speak to those concerns, something else besides "be changed". The answer is the Love of God, yes indeed, and prayer can open their eyes to see the grace of God more fully working in their lives. But this arbitrary "pray the gay away" is not the way that the "gay" goes away.

Now, for the criticism regarding the presentation of Christianity, or more precisely, the Gospel.

At the outset of this film short, the mother says "I think God is punishing me." That is wrong. The Lord Jesus took all our sins, all the punishment that we deserve, on the Cross. Clearly, this woman does not have a clear understanding of all that Jesus is and all that He has done at the Cross. Whether that is a deliberate slight against faith in Christ by the film maker, or an objective dramatization by the director, is another story.

When Junjie comes into the HDB flat, she tells her son: "The pastor will wash your sins away."

That is the most blasphemous remark in the whole movie. It is not any man who takes away sins from another, but the perfect, incorruptible, eternal Blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed at the Cross, and His blood cleanses (present tense) and speaks "better things than the blood of Abel" (Hebrews 12:24).

And His blood pays for the sins of the entire world! (1 John 2:2)

As the pastor prays over the boy, he says: "You have to believe that the Lord is able to forgive your sins,"

Wow! This pastor hasn't heard the full message of the Gospel! Not at all! How can he minister to this troubled boy when he does not understand the fullness and goodness of the Good News!

Paul the Apostle could not have made it clearer:

"38Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man [Jesus Christ] is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses." (Acts 13:38-39)

Jesus did a perfect work! Our sins have all been paid for!

"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;" (Colossians 2:13)

and

"3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:" (Ephesians 1:3)

Consider also this description of what Jesus did at the Cross:

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus became sin, that we could become sons of God, beloved of our loving FATHER in Heaven! That is Good News! Instead of hearing the fullness of all that Jesus has done for him, Junjie gets levelled with these demands to "stop feeling that way", and to live up to certain expectations laid out by his mother.

And the prayer that the Pastor prays! First, He calls God "Father". In fact, in the original Chinese, he clearly says "Abba", which is the more intimate way to call on God. It's like saying "Daddy!":

"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8:15)

Then the Pastor says "We, your humble servants call on you." 

This prayer makes no sense! God cannot be "Daddy", but then you approach Him as some kind of harsh taskmaster! That is not walking in the truth. Such prayers are double-minded, to put in mildly:

"5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (James 1:5-7)

I have pointed out the errors regarding what reparative therapy truly is, and what it is not. I have also pointed out what wrong believing that the pastor, the mother, and even the son are in bondage to.

Now, let's speak to elements in the film which help explain why Junjie, most likely, is struggling with same-sex temptations.

At the outset of the film, the mother mentions "Ah Huang". I presume that is the mother's husband, her son's father. 

Males who struggle with same-sex temptations did not have that emotional bond with their fathers. That loss can be devastating, an emotional need which turns into a sexual longing for other men.

Throughout the film, we see a very overbearing mother, as well. She orders her son around, tell him what to do, placing demands on him. This dynamic also foments same-sex temptations in males, since they are becoming so emotionally dependent on their mothers, without developing their own identities as males.

Dr. Thio Li-Ann, while serving as a nominated member of the Singapore parliament, discussed this phenomenon when she spoke in defense of Singapore Penal Code 377a in a 2007 parliamentary hearing:

An article by an ex-gay in the New Statesmen this July identified the roots of his emotional hurts, like a distant father, overbearing mother and sexual abuse by a family friend; after working through his pain, his unwanted same-sex attractions left. While difficult, change is possible and a compassionate society would help those wanting to fulfill their heterosexual potential. There is hope.

Clearly, Junjie is dealing with a "smothering mother", which has inhibited his development as a male. This lack of growth induces a yearning for intimacy with other males.

Then she levels a set of demands. She wants him to be "normal", to get married and have children. This boy is in need, and placing more demands on him only deepens the pain.

This boy deserves help, and it is indeed very sad to see such a painful conflict break out the way that it does in the movie.

The larger problem ensues, however, from the fact that such films want to push false narratives from sound-bites and brief emotional exchanges. The etiology of homosexuality is more complicated than most people realize, but by no means are people "born that way", and thus stuck in an identity. No one should doubt what the boy says, that he has tried to stop the feelings, but he cannot help himself. This is a struggle that cannot be resolved with will-power, with "trying hard." It takes a revelation of deep, unconditional love--the Love of The Father (1 John 2:15), which cannot be taken away or shaken away, no matter how trying to difficult one's circumstances may become.

When those emotional needs get met, the same-sex temptations subside and go away.

Sadly, films like this will continue to serve as propaganda by LGBT militants to promotes their lies:

1. People are born gay.

2. They cannot change.

3. It's cruel to help them change.

4. Organized religion plays a large part in promoting the cruel practice to help people break free of same-sex temptations.

For the record, I wanted to put my thoughts out there on this short film and the complex issues which it deals with. There is some truth to the portrayals of "conversion therapy" scene, true, but the notion that true faith in Christ only leads to such contentious outcomes is not true at all.

Also, the sad outcome of this film suggests that this just a fraught tragedy, when there are clear elements even within the film itself which outline why Junjie struggles with same-sex attraction. No father figure, overbearing mother, a sense of unremitting shame without any information or understanding for what he is going through, and there one has the perfect environment for a child who struggles with homosexuality.

I can only hope that my thoughts on this film (and others like it certain to come out) will shed light on the very contentious issue of homosexuality, conversion, therapy, and the truth that sets people free.

Three of the four House Reps from Utah have co-sponsored this dreck.

Six House Reps from New York, and three House Reps from Florida.

We see states with large (and growing) populations moving toward normalizing this perversion.

To see the "pro-family" Republican Party go all in on LGBT perversion is just madness.

It's time to stand for truth and shout "Enough is enough!"

 These Black Lives Matter activists thought they would intimidate our rally. But it didn't work out that way! Note one of our people in back with American flag.

It’s becomingly frighteningly commonplace. Our side will hold a demonstration, or a rally, or even host a speech. A group of leftists – including BLM or Antifa types, LGBT activists, or others – will find out about it and show up to intimidate the participants, or even disrupt the event, often with angry and profane signs and shouting.

Conservatives often react by trying to ignore them. But generally, the radicals pretty much accomplish their goal of intimidating people and causing some level of disruption.

Conservatives tend to look at them as simply “people like us” who have a different opinion, and maybe get carried away a bit.

MassResistance takes a different approach. First of all, we see these people for what they really are: dysfunctional on some level. They are hateful and angry. Their seemingly unhinged venom and profanity are a projection of that. There’s never any “good humor” or “joking around” to be found among them. As a group, they’re pretty miserable.

And like all classic bullies, they are actually cowards inside. So they need to be treated as one would treat any bully: direct confrontation.

In the interest of enlightenment, we’ve put together a video below from this past year to illustrate our approach. The first clip in the video is from an “Anti-BLM/Pro-Police” rally we organized last summer next to the police station in El Segundo, CA. A group of Black Lives Matter activists found out about it and held a vulgar and disgusting counter-protest across the street. A few of us walked over and proceeded to ask them some pointed questions, while reminding them that “All lives matter.” You’ll see what happens!

The second clip in the video was at a sidewalk “Stop the Steal/Recall the Governor” sign-holding at a street in Torrance, CA a few months later. An angry leftist comes to scream at and intimidate us. To her shock and surprise, we confronted her and chased her away!
