Contact Montana Governor, andTell Him to Sign HB 112: No Boys in Girls' Sports!

Hey MassResistance team!

Please contact Montana Governor Gianforte and urge him to sign HB 112! This bill will keep boys out of girls' sports, and stop the further normalization of transgenderism in the public square for the state of Montana.

Here are the talking points to use:

  1. No boys in girls' sports! Men are fundamentally different from women, and men who are confused enough to think that they are women need help, not enabling.
  2. Transgenderism is a mental illness. The state needs to stop enabling it in any of its forms.
  3. The NCAA is already starting to cave on their threatened en masse boycott of any state which will not allow men to compete against women in women's sports. Don't allow the NCAA to bully the Big Sky State.
  4. The state of Montana needs to do what is right for Montana's women and girls. They should not care what Big Business may or may not do to Montana in retaliation.
  5. The government has every right and necessity to step into this fight. The state exists to limit evil, and it is evil for men to pretend to be women and ruin women's sports with their unfair physical and developmental advantages over women.

This is our final step to get this law passed. The governor has until May 7th to sign or veto the bill.

Montana MassResistance: Big Victory After Initial Loss (Final Victory in Sight)

After initial loss: Big WIN in Montana Legislature against powerful transgender movement. House passes bill to ban transgender surgeries on children.

MassResistance worked with sponsor to re-file bill that was initially defeated

On to the State Senate – where chances of passage are excellent

See video below of bizare LGBT testimony against it!

March 5, 2021
ALT TEXT The public hearing on Bill 427 before the Montana House Judiciary Committee faced a full-court press by the LGBT lobby, the radical medical establishment, and more.

The powerful and well-financed transgender movement suffered a big loss as pro-family Republicans and MassResistance refused to give up on an important push to protect vulnerable children from permanent damage to their bodies.

Initial loss shocked parents and families

We reported on Feb. 2 that bill 113 to ban the ghastly transgender “sex-change” procedures (both surgeries and hormone treatments) being done on children was defeated 51-49 in the Montana House of Representatives. It was a tremendous shock to people in that state.

These “medical procedures” permanently change and disfigure a child, often result in sterilization, and cause enormous trauma lasting a lifetime. But they are big money-makers for so-called “gender clinics” in children’s hospitals (and many smaller clinics), as well as “Big Pharma.” The transgender push on children is an important part of the LGBT ideology, which has now been accepted throughout corporate America.

Even though the Montana Legislature is dominated by Republicans, 19 Republicans caved in and voted against that bill. They would not stand up to the enormous pressure from organized LGBT activists, the Montana Hospital Association, and even the Montana Chamber of Commerce.

The sponsor of Bill 113 was Rep. John Fuller, a wonderful pro-family fighter. Immediately after the bill’s defeat, Rep. Fuller filed a Motion to Reconsider. But that was defeated by an even greater margin, 53-46, as more Republicans caved in. The situation looked bleak.

Not giving up: Bill was re-filed!

MassResistance activists in Montana strongly encouraged Rep. Fuller and the other key lawmakers who had pushed for Bill 113 not to give up. They agreed that the damage being done to vulnerable children was too horrific to call it quits.

Working with another legislator who had a draft for legislation which could cover subjects relating to health issues, Rep. Fuller introduced a revised version of the initial bill. The new bill was titled HB 427.

Because of the Montana legislature’s rules of procedure, a new bill has to be considerably different, or it will get struck down as redundant. For that reason, HB 427 only bans the transgender surgeries. It does not include puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. This legislation is not perfect, but it’s much better than nothing. And because of this difference, the House leadership – which had opposed Bill 113 – decided not to oppose Bill 427. The bill passed its procedural review in the House Rules Committee, 12-7.

The big fight: House Judiciary Committee Hearing

Before it could go to the full House, it had to get through the House Judiciary Committee.

The House Judiciary Committee hearing for Bill 427 and several other bills convened on Feb. 22 – at 7:00 am in the morning! The small committee hearing room included nearly a dozen LGBT activists and supporters from across Montana. Others had signed up to testify remotely via Zoom. The hearing on Bill 427 was allowed to go on for only a little more than an hour.

At the hearing, Rep. Fuller spoke first on Bill 427. In fairly strong terms, he reminded the committee members that government has a right and responsibility to step in and protect children – even against pressure from special interests.

ALT TEXT Rep. Juhn Fuller faced down the LGBT onslaught without flinching!

The proponents of the bill spoke first. Although our side had wide support across the state, we only had four people who were willing to publicly testify. Luckily, one of them was our National Director, Arthur Schaper who anticipated what the opponents would say and demolished their regular talking points. The director of the Montana Family Foundation also spoke.

About 20 people spoke against the bill, in person and via Zoom. They ranged from recent high school graduates (fully propagandized) to adult “transgenders,” left-wing activist groups (including Planned Parenthood), radical medical people (including a pediatrician, a surgeon, and psychiatrist!) and, of course, parents of “transgender children.”

Their range of arguments were quite chilling, offensive, full of obvious lies, and pointedly ridiculous. But it was clearly well organized and rehearsed. They repeated over and over the LGBT propaganda that not allowing these mutilating medical operations on children would somehow “hurt” so-called “transgender youth.” It was a testament to the power and ideological force of the LGBT movement even out in Montana.

Here is the testimony. It’s an hour long – but a real education!:

VIDEO: Testimony on Bill 427 to ban ghastly transgender surgeries on children (1 hr 7 min)

At the end of the hearing Rep. Fuller spoke again. Then a vote was taken and the bill passed out of committee, 11-8.

The pro-LGBT contingent was well-organized and well-rehearsed with their disinformation and irrational talking points.

ALT TEXT Misinformation. This woman is a pediatric urologist who falsely claimed that the bill would ban surgeries on children to correct deformities or to treat cancer or urinary problems. In fact, the text of the bill specifically excludes issues not related to gender dysphoria or gender transition.
ALT TEXT Misguided emotion. This person, with the "Montana Human Rights Network," claimed that a 19-year-old male-to-female "transgender" attempted suicide last week because he heard that this bill had been re-introduced - and that bills like this cause suicides, and also have "devastating effects on the economy."

Votes on the full House floor – it passed this time!

From there, Bill 427 went to the House floor. Since the House leadership wasn’t opposed and our side kept up the pressure, this time the momentum was with it!

In Montana, a bill needs to pass the House twice to move on to the Senate. On Feb. 24, it passed by 59-40. On Feb. 25 it passed by even more, 60-38.

And on to the Senate. One of our MassResistance activists is a Montana State Senator. He and others tell us that it should have no trouble getting through the Senate! There haven’t been any committee hearings scheduled yet. But this time we will have a MUCH stronger force for testimony!

Final reflection

The conservative movement is known for quitting when things go south. We don’t believe in quitting!

But the fact that this was such a hard battle in a red state like Montana shows the power of the huge money behind these radical and very destructive left-wing causes, even in the most conservative of states. But that’s been a problem for over 50 years. Wealthy conservatives do not want to fund grassroots activism to fight back – especially against the LGBT movement, but also other radical movements like Black Lives Matter. This is not likely to change – but it means that all of us need to work harder than the other side with the resources we have!

Montana MassResistance: Fighting for Pro-Family, Anti-LGBT Bills in the State Legislature

In Montana Legislature: MassResistance joins pro-family Republicans to push for bill to ban ghastly “sex-change” procedures on children

After big battle, bill fails after 19 Republicans cave to LGBT pressure

But separate bill to ban “transgender” males in girls’ sports passes House, goes on to Senate

Here's how it happened ...

February 2, 2021
ALT TEXT The Montana House of Representatives votes bill HB 113, to protect children from transgender "medical" mutilation.

The most ghoulish assault from the LGBT movement is their push to irreparably harm children through “sex-change” treatments. These “treatments” include deranged psychological counseling and chemical interventions (puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones), and often progress to disfiguring and irreversible surgeries. These experimental procedures leave children sterile and stunt their physical and psychological growth. They bring ugly facial hair and lowered voices to girls, and turn boys into eerie imitations of females.

There is no medical justification for operations that remove healthy body parts – girls’ breasts and boys’ penises – all so children may pretend to be the opposite sex. Why would anyone want to sentence these children to a lifetime of medical interventions, and often deep and profound regret? Why are otherwise reasonable people going along with this insanity?

ALT TEXT These 11-year-old identical twin boys were featured in a front-page Boston Globe article in 2011 celebrating the one on the left "becoming" a girl. As a result of puberty-blocking drug treatments, he was now five inches shorter than his brother and had female-like features, and likely sterile. According to the article, this was to be followed by a series of female hormone injections and ultimately operations to remove male body parts and "create" female-imitating body parts. We do not know what ultimately happened. [PHOTO: Boston Globe]

But as sickening as this is, it has become a successful component of the LGBT movement’s obsession with children. There are numerous “gender clinics” (in major children’s hospitals and smaller clinics) across the United States, as we first reported back in 2008. The medical establishment has capitulated and now strongly supports “gender” treatments. It’s a money-maker for “Big Pharma.” Public schools teach children that this quackery is “healthy” and normal. And the LGBT movement uses sophisticated psychological techniques to persuade parents to go along with it – for example their Orwellian ploy of guaranteeing “safety” for so-called “sexual minority” students.

A few states starting to take action

But some state legislatures have started to take action to protect vulnerable and troubled children from that powerful, destructive movement. They are introducing bills to ban these bizarre procedures that harm minor children. Not surprisingly, the LGBT movement is fighting these bills viciously, and so far none has passed into law.

The battle starts in Montana

Back in August, a conservative Montana State Rep., John Fuller, introduced bill HB 113, which would ban hormone therapies and gender mutilation surgeries and on children. Any health care provider engaging in such treatments would be fined.

Rep. Fuller also introduced HB 112 which would ban “transgender” males from competing in girls’ sports – similar to the bill passed in Idaho last year, which MassResistance helped with.

ALT TEXT Rep. John Fuller speaks on the House Floor on Jan. 25. supporting his bills.

But most of the fiery LGBT opposition was directed at HB 113. The LGBT movement does not want to lose the ability to alter children’s bodies – anywhere in the country. They are enraged by a bill like this, which bluntly challenges their absurd “gender” theory and exposes the grisly harm they are doing to children.

Since 67 of the 100 Montana House members are Republicans, this kind of common-sense bill would seem a safe bet to pass there, given the horrors that are happening. But that’s not what happened.

Republicans cave to the LGBT movement on HB 113

During the last three weeks in January, the battle blazed in the Montana House of Representatives. On January 18, House Judiciary Committee held a public hearing on both bills, and on Jan. 22 voted to bring both bills to the full House.

Bills must pass two full votes in the House, on separate days, in order to move on to the Senate. HB 112 ended up passing both votes easily, pretty much on party lines. The big fight was over HB 113.

On Jan. 22, MassResistance was contacted by one of the Montana State Reps. He told us that the transgender movement, along with lobbyists from hospitals, were moving at full speed to stop HB 113 from passing. Republicans were being heavily pressured, he said.

MassResistance got right to work and mobilized our people in Montana. They began calling and emailing House members and also using social media.

The first floor vote for HB 113 was on Jan. 25, It barely passed by 53-47. In other words, 14 Republicans had caved. If another four defected, it would be dead.

The second House floor vote was scheduled for the following day, Jan. 26. Our people continued pleading with Republicans not to allow this demonic practice on children. But when the vote came, our worst fears came to fruition. Four Republicans, including the Republican Majority Leader, defected. HB 113 failed by 49-51. It was shocking!

The next day the bill’s supporters tried again by filing a Motion to Reconsider. That failed, also. The Majority Leader continued to oppose HB 113.

Here’s an email sent by one of our Montana residents to the Majority Leader, Sue Vinton, the day before the Motion to Reconsider:

I was disappointed to read that you changed your vote on HB 113. I encourage you to change your vote back to YES if the bill is reconsidered. The ACLU and well-funded outside interests are behind opposition to this bill, not popular opinion.

My daughter was very negatively impacted by the unscientific "gender" theories and counseling when she was in high school (in a different state). This tore apart our family for no good reason.

These transgender treatments will cause lasting harm for children, enslaving them to lifelong medical interventions and likely infertility. The whole transgender movement is based on theories having no scientific basis.

Obviously, Rep. Sue Vinton wasn’t moved by that parent’s anguish.

How did this happen?

The LGBT movement has enormous resources – even in Montana – to fight these battles against children and families. And they’re very well organized. It was a full-court press that regular people could hardly grasp. Looking back, here’s what people were up against:

Spreading big lies. The first thing they did is create a series of false narratives – i.e., lies – that they repeated everywhere.

  • The most insidious disinformation was that “HB 113 would deny critical medical care for minors experiencing gender dysphoria.” In other words, they were saying that “critical medical care” entails mutilating a child’s body to pander to his mental illness! In fact, the opposite is true. The real critical care that is needed is good therapy – which the LGBT movement is trying to ban.
  • Another false narrative was that banning these procedures would cause “health risks” and “suicide” among youth. Again, the truth is exactly the opposite. When children realize what has happened to them, it is then that they often become suicidal. To bolster that fact, MassResistance recruited Walt Heyer, a well-known ex-transgender who has written extensively on this subject, to give his testimony in this email to the House members.
  • The LGBT radicals also absurdly stated that HB 113 would unethically “get between a doctor and his patient.” But of course, many laws do that to protect people. And one of the problems the bill was addressing was unethical care offered by pro-transgender medical providers.

Unfortunately, too many squishy Republicans weren’t willing to stand up to this nonsense – or actually believed it.

The Montana media played a huge role. They are as left-wing as the media everywhere else.  They flooded the Internet with near-hysterical articles that portrayed these bills as backwards and dangerous. The Montana Free Press published such articles about this on Jan. 12, Jan. 15, Jan. 18, Jan. 22, Jan. 25, and Jan. 26. Other newspapers were just as bad.

ALT TEXT Local newspaper based in Kalispell, MT, faithfully pushes the LGBT party line.

Over a dozen state-wide and national pro-LGBT groups poured their resources into stopping this. They are well-funded, well-organized, and have experience bowling over politicians.

Those groups were able to get hundreds of LGBT activists from Montana and across the country to angrily call and email legislators. But more important, they organized groups of dysfunctional LGBT parents and activists to go to the State House and pay personal visits to key legislators. They came well-rehearsed with their well-crafted, highly emotional talking points.

Unfortunately, our side rarely has the resources to effectively counter that. That type of mobilizing generally requires a last-minute infusion of funds, and wealthy conservative donors simply don’t want to get involved. But that’s been a fact of life for a long time.

Republican Majority Leader Sue Vinton told the press that she switched her vote at the last minute “out of care and consideration for children” and “based on hearing the perspectives of transgender people, as well as medical providers and family members.” From what we’ve heard, people across the state are already furious at her for such a blatant betrayal.

The Montana medical establishment lobbied hard to stop HB 113. It boggles the mind that medical professionals would support something so terrible – it’s such obvious medical quackery. Not only did they send in lobbyists, but the Montana Hospital Association submitted this official letter against HB 113. (It’s all about the money, apparently.)

ALT TEXT This is an example of the lunacy now being pushed by the medical establishment.

The medical establishment presented a letter from the Montana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics opposing HB 113. This shows what a fraud that organization has become. Luckily, the legislators also received a letter supporting HB 113 from the American College of Pediatricians, a voice of reason opposing lunatic political correctness.

The Montana Chamber of Commerce worked to kill HB 113. Legislators mentioned that a number of times. That’s not surprising; those groups caved in to the LGBT movement a long time ago. And the Montana Federation of Public Employees opposed HB 113 with this particularly childish letter.

Final thoughts

The conservative movement constantly underestimates the obsession that the LGBT movement has with children – and the extreme things they will do to get their way.

And the LGBT movement knows what buttons to push. This is a very disturbing trend that the public needs to know: Republicans in state legislatures across the country, even where they have supermajorities, often will cave to Big Business (or Big Pharma) since they are afraid of losing donations or large investments into their home states. Make no mistake: “Gender clinics” for children are becoming a big business for hospitals.

LGBT groups are aggressive in attacking any legislative proposals that will slow the spread of their agenda. MassResistance is virtually the only pro-family organization that understands the high stakes at play in this culture war. We understand that even when victory seems imminent, that we must double down in our demands to ensure that the best care and reforms for children win out.

We believe that victory will ultimately come. The opposition is based entirely on lies and spending large amounts of money. We have beaten them many times in the past. The point will come where we start to beat them every time.

Our Montana MassResistance activists have already started lobbying the Montana State Senate to ensure passage of HB 112, but we will also start turning our attention to the legislators and special interests which helped kill HB 113. Stay tuned for more reports this issue.

Montana MassResistance Gets It Done: No BLM Rioting, Voter Fraud

Why there were no fears of post-election riots in Montana

Around the country businesses boarded up their windows before election day.

Our Montana MassResistance activists show why things remain calm there!

November 8, 2020
ALT TEXT When hundreds of fanatical Black Lives Matter demonstrators descended on this Montana downtown park, some of the citizens came to make sure that it really was peaceful! [All photos by MassResistance except where noted.]

In cities and towns across America on Nov. 3, people braced for post-election riots and destruction by Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa – a continuation of the violence those groups had been committing for months – which had been threatened by top Democrats. Store owners boarded up their windows. Police were put on alert, and in some places the National Guard was called up.

ALT TEXT Store windows in downtown Boston the day of the election. [Photo: NBCBoston.com]

But not in Montana. Earlier this year, Black Lives Matter and Antifa got a clear message that their brand of intimidation and violence would not work there! Here’s just one story.

On June 6, hundreds of agitated BLM-allied leftists converged on Depot Park in the center of Kalispell, Montana for a so-called “protest.” Kalispell, a small city north of Missoula in the northwest corner of the state, had not seen anything like this before.

Many locals feared that a mob would attempt to deface or destroy the Flathead County Veterans Memorial in the center of the small downtown park, as BLM activists had done to other monuments (particularly those involving military figures) across the country. And neighborhood businesses were on edge.

ALT TEXT Flathead County Veterans Memorial [Photo: WorldWar1Centennial.org]

But when the BLM supporters arrived, the area around the monument was surrounded by dozens of well-armed local citizens. (Montana allows open-carry of firearms without a permit.) And the locals were prepared to also protect the nearby local businesses if necessary.

As a result, everything was peaceful. The leftists got the message! The virtue-signaling local people were surprisingly restrained. They stayed on the side of the street with their signs and banners and didn’t even block traffic. Even the more surly rabble-rousers held back.

Here are photos taken by our Montana MassResistance chapter:

And the word got around. There haven’t been any Black Lives Matter or Antifa problems in Montana.

How civilized life was intended

This is, of course, what the founders of America intended. Regular citizens who have a stake in the community are supposed to be able to protect themselves and others, especially at times of civil unrest. For most of our history, that’s how things were.

Unfortunately, in most of the country people now continue to live in fear of uncontrolled, lunatic mobs burning and looting buildings, tearing down monuments at will, and even attacking (and sometimes killing) bystanders. People living in fear and insecurity gives power to the Left and elected officials. And to make things even worse, the fake-news media viciously distort legitimate self-defense by citizens. But it’s not what America is all about.

ALT TEXT This was the scene in Boston the night after the election. Rabid "protesters" came and took over the streets. The Governor had to call in the National Guard to keep them from destroying property and looting. {Photo: Boston Herald]

Other attributes in Montana

Montana is quite civilized and normal. This is largely because most citizens are serious about preserving their Constitutional rights. And it’s much more than just self-protection.

They have maintained fair elections: At the polls, voters always had to show their photo ID to cast their ballot. Although this time most counties opted instead to go to mailed-in ballots, local election offices still kept the process clean. (It helped that many Montanans hand-delivered their ballots to election offices, rather than trust the US Mail.)

As a result of having a legitimate process, President Trump won Montana with 57% of the vote, and Republicans won the races for Governor, US Senate, US House, and all the major statewide offices.

We’ll see what happens in the rest of the country …
