The Democratic National Committee? Not so much.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) expanded its massive fundraising lead over the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in July as the Democrats posted their worst July haul in a decade.
The DNC raised just $3.8 million in July, compared to the $10.2 million raised by the RNC in the same month. While the GOP has no debt, the DNC added slightly to its debt in July, which now sits at $3.4 million.
Ouch!

How Conservatives Must Confront Arrogant Progressive Liberals: D'Souza v. Alex Jones
Conservatives need to understand that our ongoing fights with communistic elements, whether in the media or in public forums, is about a lot more than trying to change the minds of the leftists themselves. They are only interested in entertaining and audience and shaming their conservative, pro-liberty opponents.
This fact of modern political discourse is still lost on a lot of conservatives. Progressive radicals are bullies at their core. They are not interested in discussion. They are not even interested in any kind of an exchange of ideas. It's not about wisdom at all. It's about raw power, and silencing opponents, whether through shame or brute force.
Conservatives need to expose the shameful lies and abusive tactics of the left. When entering into a wide-range or public discussion about issues, every conservative needs to decide whether they are dealing with a true believer or a craven showman.
Ben Shapiro understood this distinction, and as a guest on Piers Morgan's CNN talk show, he demolished the British elitist before he could ask the first question.
Check out that stunning interview below:
You will notice that Shapiro invites Morgan to have a "rational discussion," knowing full well that the British propagandist was not interested in a reasonable discussion in the first place.
Now, let's look at how NOT to debate or discuss issues with raging progressive leftists.
Check out the hour long "discussion" between The Young Turks Host Cenk Uygur and Dinesh D'Souza:
Throughout this discussion, Cenk bullies and shames Dinesh. He has very little interest in discussion. Uygur just wanted to mock and shame his opponent. He made freuent personal attacks against the conservative panelist. He repeatedly reminded the audience that D'Souza had serve time following a conviction.
If anyone bothers to listen to the Young Turks spokesman, they will notice how often he characteristics D'Souza and the facts of his criminal case, as well as his political views, and also the history of the Democratic and Republican Parties.
Uygur refuses to answer uestions, refuses to respond to D'Souza ...
Refuses to debate.
It was never really about debating in the first place. The whole scene, including a large mass of Young Turks cheerleaders in the audience, was designed simply to humiliate Dinesh, and turn the mini-drama into further proof that conservatism is wrong and the Left, the liberal progressives are right.
What is the proper way to handle left-wing bullies? Conservatives need to recognize that a combative approach does not mean that ideas will not be shared. Confronting arrogant liberals and proving them wrong is easy and fun. They also need to encourage supporters to join them in making their case.
Conservatives have the inherent advantage. Our ideas are consistent with reality and correct. Therefore, an argument which reverts to facts will work in our best interest. Because liberals rely on contradictions which they refuse to face, exposing their errors, humilitating them essentially in front of a third party, is not hard to accomplish.
But setting terms of debate and ensuring conflict as a rule, playing to an audience, is essential.
Witness how Alex Jones of InfoWars handled Cenk Uygur at the Republican National Convention earlier this year:
Essentially, Alex Jones gave Cenk and his fellow Young Turks a taste of their own medicine.
He did not want for a staged and prepared debate, but confronted Uygur.
He asked the Young Turk about his "Hillary for Prison" T-shirts.
This is not just a plug for his products. He makes a strong assertion about the Democratic Presidential nominee. She is corrupt, and she belongs in prison. Will Cenk respond to this charge? Notice that Jones is not interested in trying to engage a placid discussion, but rather expose how the progressive "newscaster" is a mouthpiece for liberal ideas rather than a forum for discussing ideas.
In fact, the Progressive Left is not about discussion at all, never has been never will be. It's about power and force, it's about the employment of Saul Alinksy tactics to personalize, polarize, then demonize political opponents. Why? Because the left does not have any winning ideas worth debating! It's all identity politics and power differentials.
Notice that Roger Stone shows up, a conservative anchor who finally gets a few words in with Cenk. "You never gave me a chance to talk when I'm your show," chides Stone. At the same time, Jones takes out a Bill Clinton shirt with the word "Rape" underneath it. This attacks stirs up more anger from Cenk.
He is losing his cool. He is no longer the bully. He is the one getting bullied, because that's all that Cenk Uygur and his illiberal cohorts really do on their show. Then the argument gets heated. An audience of conference attendees joings around the two talk show hosts, and Uygur the control-freak loses his cool. He resorts to the only skills that he and other leftists possess: personal attacks.
It makes Cenk look really bad!
Then Ana Kasparian shows up and shouts "F--k" over and over again, trying to get Alex Jones' staffers of the stage. Now, all of this would have been easily settled if Cenk Uygur answered some of Stone and Jones' uestions. Notice at one point Alex invited Roger to come back and debate Cenk, but Cenk didn't want to debate!
The aftermath of this confrontation was interesting. Uygur tried to smooth out his terrible response:
It was awful. The fact that he had to explain himself--he automatically lost again!
Final Reflection

Final Reflection
Cenk Uygur exposes to the world that Alex Jones and Roger Stones got completely under his skin, and under Ana Kasparian's skin too. That was ten more minutes of his broadcast taken from his left-wing rants. Cenk complains about their rants and insults. He also faulted Alex Jones and Roger Stone for not offering rational arguments and to have a reasonable discussion.
And yet, that’s exactly what the Young Turks do!
Win-Win for Alex Jones.
Take copious notes, and go forth and drive liberals crazy!

Election 2016: Who Will Win the U.S. Senate?
Election 2014 displayed
one of the most incredible switches of U.S. Senate control in recent memory.
The Republicans did not
just take back the Upper Chamber. They wiped the floor with the Democrats and
bested some of their pettiest political tricks, including three different
Democratic candidates in Montana, plus three-way races in other states.
Nothing can top Election
1980, which produced a Republican majority with 12 US Senate wins.
Election 2014 produced
nine seats, but could have been eleven if not for the intense infighting in
Republican primaries.
So, will Election 2016
turn into an epic landslide of the Democrats and help them win back the upper
chamber?
After Election 2014, I believed that the Republicans would have no trouble holding their
majority. They have strong incumbents, many who have provide superior constituent
services to their states. U.S. Senator Pat Toomey has worked across the aisle
on select issues so that he does not alienate his base, but can reach out to
Independents and even some Democrats.
I knew that the battleground
was going to be wider for Democratic gains, and harder for Republican holds.
After nearly two year of
campaigning, polling, and the unexpected, I have to revise my predictions.

For example, I was
certain that U.S. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin would not have a hard time getting
re-elected. And yet poll after poll has documented a surprising yet consistent
lead for Democratic challenger Russ Feingold, the incumbent whom Johnson
knocked out in 2010. It has narrowed recently, but the NRSC has not invested major
funding for ads … yet. This setback is very disappointing. Johnson is a vocal
and effective legislator. He has fought for strong our country’s best interests
in national security. He has focused on ending
illegal immigration. Unlike other Republicans, this Tea Party candidate has not
run away from his values. Recent polling has delivered good news, indicating a
tighter race, but the numbers still look bad for Johnson.

Just South of Johnson,
fellow Republican Mark Kirk of Illinois is in a world of hurt.
He is the #1 Target on
the Senate map, even though he has raised considerable amount of money. The
state is just too blue. Kirk won in 2010, which was not just an off-year, but
witnessed a wave of voter discontent which swept Kirk into office. He was
running against one corrupt challenger, and replacing a corrupt appointment
which has opted not to even run for re-election. This year, Kirk is running
against another "decorated" wounded veteran. Despite allegations of
malfeasance and incompetence dogging Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, she is
poised to win.
Other seats which were
not supposed to be in play, but now have become competitive, including Indiana.
Evan Bayh had retired in 2010, smelling the blood in the water for Democrats. Now
he's back, and hoping for a larger Democratic turnout which will prop him back
into office. So many unhappy, unnerving retreads. Could Indiana end up with two
Democratic Senators in 2016?!
Now the good news.
Opportunities have
emerged for Republicans to keep the majority.
Robert Portman of Ohio
is running a smart campaign. He has raised the most money of all his fellow
colleagues running. Black activist groups have supported the senator, along
with labor unions, which means more campaign dollars.
His Democratic challenger,
Ted Strickland, has been struggling to fundraise and to raise his positives
with Ohio voters, who don't want him back in elected office. Major headlines
from the liberal press reported that the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee
is pulling their investments out of the state. Uh Oh!
In Florida, Marco Rubio
earned enough press to remake himself into a household name in the swing-state
Sunshine State. After much backroom prodding, Rubio decided to run for
re-election, though he had decided to retire following his bid for President.
Even though He lost
Florida Presidential primary by huge margins, but he blew away his primary
competition to hold onto his Senate seat. He now consistently polls at least
five points ahead of his Democratic challenger. This seat is no longer in
precarious hands. Rubio will return as a U.S. Senator, but let us hope that he
will stop pushing immigration "reform" and fight for conservative
causes with renewed gusto.
There is one more truly swing
state that is swinging back to Republicans: Pennsylvania.
Senator Pat Toomey was
riding high earlier this year, especially because of Democratic infighting that
was chipping away at their chances in for winning the seat. Toomey ran
against a weakened challenger in 2010, who had toppled turncoat incumbent RINO-Democrat
Arlen Specter. Back then, Toomey eked out a 51% victory.
Will he have a wider win
in 2016? Incredible constituent contacts, well-informed efforts and newsletters,
plus a unique mixture of confirmed conservatism with purple pragmatism may see
him through--or not, as his challenger Katie McGinty shows her besting
incumbent Toomey, within the margin of error.
Iowa’s Chuck Grassley is
doing very well, standing firm against Obama’s Supreme Court nominee while
fighting hard against illegal immigration. His stock has improved in connection
with Donald Trump, too. Despite quivering pollsters and salivating liberal
media pundits, Missouri’s Roy Blunt, an accomplished politician with a long
resume, will show the Democrats he can carry the “Show Me State”. New
Hampshire’s Kelly Ayotte has a harder fight on her hands. Patent reform
notwithstanding, her support for immigration “reform” could dampen voters’
spirits. If Trump’s standing improves, then Ayotte’s bedrock of support will
strengthen her chances in the Granite State.
Republicans could pick
up a seat from the Democrats, too. Now that the humiliated and greatly weakened
Democratic leader “Dirty” Harry Reid no longer feels so lucky, Republican
Congressman Joe Heck looks primed to win.
As for Colorado, Darryl
Glen shocked triumphed in a crowded primary. With little support in the general,
he holds little chance of flipping the seat from Michael Bennett, although he
certainly deserves to lose.
The stats are looking
better for Senate Republicans.

Townhall Senior Writer Kurt Schlichter at the Beach Cities Republicans--July 21, 2016
The Beach Cities Republicans had a lot of competition to deal with for their July, 2016 meeting.
The Republican National Convention was rolling along, and would culminate on July 21.
The GOP nominee, Donald J. Trump, would accept the party nomination for President.
The meeting started one hour before the normal time, but that didn't throw off too many people.
Schlichter was one of the most well-connected conservative writers in the country. He's a respected comic, novelist, and lawyer!
Yes, lawyer too! His office is based in El Segundo, and he lives in Manhattan Beach, the same home for the South Bay Assemblyman David Hadley.
I found out that a national conservative writer lived right in my backyard. From there, we exchanged articles bashing the Democratic incumbent--Al Muratsuchi--and then lo and behold, Hadley won.
I also found a connection to start getting published on Townhall.com!
It was all rising up from there for me.
As soon as I was elected President of the Beach Cities Republicans, Schlichter reached out to me and offered to be a guest speaker at one of my meetings.
July seemed like the perfect time. And despite the overlapping RNC meeting, everything worked out very well.
Forty people showed up which is pretty impressive, considering the competition we faced.
Tracy Hopkins, our First Vice President, talked about her fight against the corrupt Big Green Agenda in Hermosa Beach.
A friend of mine, Isaac Rodriguez from Pico Rivera, a college student and member of We the People Rising, drove all the way to the South Bay to meet Kurt.
The Townhall writer gladly autographed a copy of Conservative Insurgency.
He's one of his biggest fans.
The meeting started pretty slowly, but mostly because we had to adjust when we started.
Young Republicans from El Camino College also attended. It was really inspiring that they came.
Schlichter joked with me, that he had spoken to smaller crowds before.
So, what did the Senior Columnist have to share with us?
Some really profound insights, despite the fact that he was a #NotTrump supporter up to the moment when the New York City real estate agent/reality TV star clinched the nomination.
Here are his first remarks.
His caustic comments were spot on about the Democratic Party, which has gone communist.
His background is pretty incredible. He was born in Ohio, Because his father was in the military, the Schlichter family moved around a lot, then finally settled in San Mateo, California.
He served with distinction in the military, too, and now works as private attorney with his own firm.
Here is the greater part of his speech.
He talked about the current political climate, where the Republican Party is now, and where it needs to go.
Schlichter, in uncharacteristic fashion, admitted that the Donald Trump phenomenon blindsided him.
He wanted Marco Rubio, and settled for Cruz. Out of seventeen candidates, Trump the total outsider swept the primary.
Unlike much of middle America, South Bay residents such as ourselves don't feel the pinching consequences of illegal immigration, bad trade deals (globalism on steroids), and the breakdown of national security.
Working people are feeling worked over by the political class.
The global economy is working for many upper middle class professionals. For blue collar and middle class families, however, the benefits of the expanding economy are not really helping them.
Donald Trump mastered this frustration and appealed to it.
He knew how to manipulate the media, too, and draw in the highest number of Republican voters ever during a primary.
Voters were angry, and they wanted something done right away.
Schlichter talked about more than Donald Trump.
He talked about the promises that Republicans needed to offer.
At the end of his speech, just before another guy gave his own speech at the RNC (which Kurt said was really good), he took some questions from the audience.
One of the best exchanges started with one of the Millenials.
"How best can the Republicans start reaching out to Millenials?"
His answer: "I don't know! You tell me what are the biggest issues you are concerned about!"
For the rest of the meeting, we watched Donald Trump's acceptance speech.
Final Reflection
Donald Trump as the GOP nominee is going to present some interesting challenges and perhaps welcome developments for the Republican Party.
His speech was strong, hit a lot of good themes.
Schlichter's comments were more informed and inspiring.
He outlined the issues which our country needs to deal with. He identified the concerns that our young people will have to overcome in the years ahead.
Despite his resistance to Donald Trump, there is hope that he will win the election, and help bring this country into recovery and prosperity.
Once again, more people than expected attending the meeting, and in spite of the competition which the Beach Cities Republicans faced from the RNC.
