When God formed Adam, He deemed that it was not good for him to be alone:
"And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." (Genesis 2:18)
The Septuagint renders the same verse as follows:
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεός οὐ καλὸν εἶναι τὸν ἄνθρωπον μόνον ποιήσωμεν αὐτῷ βοηθὸν κατ' αὐτόν.
In the Greek translation, "help meet"is rendered by the Hebrew-Greek scholars as "βοηθὸν" boēthon, which is the same word found in Hebrews 13:6:
"So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."
"Helper" renders "boēthos βοηθός.
So, for the single person, there is nothing to fear. You are not alone, but in fact you have something better than Adam. For Eve, tempted by the serpent, also led Adam into temptation.
Yet the Lord, who is with us by the power of the Holy Spirit, guides us into all truth:
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." (John 16:13)
Who could want a better "help meet" than that?
