Call to Action: Tell San Diego GOP To Rescind Endorsements for Anti-American Congressional Candidates

I am so proud of Jeff Schwilk  The San Diegans for Secure Borders don't hold back when candidates do not pass the smell test. He is not afraid of standing up to the liberal lunacy and political correctness that dominates the political sphere.

San Diego is similar to Orange County, although with less of a long-standing conservative streak compared to OC, which had stayed Republican for decades, even when the rest of the state went Democratic. San Diego is getting beat down more and more with every year. One House Seat, CD-52, should be an easy pick-up for Republicans, but Brian Bilbray crashed, and by a very close margin. It looked as though a handful of candidates were going to score a victory in 2014 and 2016, but the Northern San Diego district has fallen into Scott Peters' hands again and again.

The San Diego GOP choose to endorse a Muslim with connections to radical terrorist groups. SMART!

As for the candidate running against Juan "Chicano Park" Vargas? A Mexican national with more ties to the mother country and a cursory attachment to the United States. Is this the diversity push which the CAGOP Party leadership have taught them to follow? Whose dim ideas are these, to choose candidates based on their ethnic status and potential to reach out to "minority" voters?

This kind of thinking is all wrong.

Let's state the facts about the troubling developments in San Diego County right now ...

Pro-Sharia forces and open border bigotry are working their way into the politics of both parties. Muslims tried to hijack the San Diego Unified School District curriculum, but San Diego Parents pushed back very hard. Pro-family forces rallied their own money and people to sue the school district with a lawsuit and prevent that perverse indoctrination on their students.

The fight against illegal immigration is gaining ground, too. President Trump issued stern warnings and directed necessary border and legal controls to stop the refugee "caravan" from invading our country and counting on the limited courtroom benevolence to get their way.

Jeff Schwilk has announced -- ENOUGH! -- to the San Diego GOP now, too.

For the record, Tony Krvaric had helped lead efforts to get rid of Filthy Bob Filner in 2013. Kevin Faulconer has been a little bit better, and the city has done something about the outrageous pension crisis overwhelming the city.

But San Diego is still turning into a third-world shithole, with little help from Sacramento or the San Diego Democratic Party overrunning the state with radical Muslims, welfare queens, illegal aliens, and public sector princes and princesses/.

Subject: Email & Call SD GOP Tony Krvaric: Rescind Endorsements of John Renison Rosas and Omar Qudrat in San Diego

What happens in San Diego will spread nationwide quickly.  This is ground zero for the hostile Mexican and radical Muslim invasion and takeover of our political system, schools, and society.  They don’t even try to hide it anymore.

San Diego County Republican Party Chairman Tony Krvaric can and must rescind these two dangerous endorsements for Renison and Qudrat.  He needs to do it now, before the GOP Convention that starts in 2 days and voting by mail starts early next week.

Please email and call him now and forward to all San Diego Republicans and conservatives.

Importance: High

New bombshell Intel Report below by CAPT Joseph John in San Diego, US Navy (Ret.) and Former FBI Agent.

This urgent issue goes way beyond politics; this is a potential national security issue and threat if either of these two men were to be elected to our U.S. Congress.

SDSB calls on the San Diego County Republican Party Chairman Tony Kvaric to immediately rescind their endorsements of these two unqualified and fraudulent candidates for Congress in San Diego.  They both have very questionable loyalties and backgrounds as well as confirmed ties to radical foreign and subversive interests.

John Renison Rosas – 51st District Candidate  (San Diego and Imperial Border District)
Omar Qudrat – 52nd District Candidate  (San Diego)

John Ray Renison (aka Juan Renison Rosas), 41

John Renison is a dual citizen (Mexican and U.S. Citizenship) running for Congress in the 51st District (border district).  Renison was born in Mexico, or in San Diego, depending on which country he is speaking in and/or to what audience.  He grew up in Mexicali, Mexico, graduated high school there, and has lived in Mexico most of his 41 years.  His mother is Mexican.  He says publicly that Mexico is his “homeland” (see video below).  He operates businesses and has strong business ties in Mexico to this day, and has run for political office in Mexico at least twice in the 2010s.  He has never held elected office in the U.S.  Renison is actively campaigning and soliciting donations in Mexico for his run for U.S. Congress.  Renison has been and may still be a member of Mexico’s left-leaning Green Party.  Video of John Renison on Mexican TV in his own words:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPLMvZVLucE

His campaign website asks people to send checks to his campaign to an office suite (#7) in Imperial Beach in the 51st District, but that office is empty (see attached photos).  Strangely, Omar Qudrat also lists the same empty office suite as his campaign headquarters on his website.  A source of ours peeked through the mail slot Sunday afternoon and the office was completely empty except for a few chairs and a table.  No campaign signs, equipment, or materials.  Nothing.  It is probably just a mail drop for both of them.  No other addresses are listed for either of their Congressional “campaigns”.

Renison claims he lives in the Coronado Cays in a $1.3 million home on Trinidad Bend, but he is not the owner of that home and never has been.  If he does live there, that house is outside the 51st District that he is running for Congress in.  He also owns a house in Calexico, which is in the 51st district, but we can find no record of him ever living there.

John Renison just recently jumped into this Congressional race against an outanding conservative candidate and combat veteran, SgtMaj Juan Hidalgo, who ran for this seat in 2016 and was endorsed by the San Diego County GOP back then.  Renison got the recent SD GOP endorsement at the last minute before the Central Committee vote, possibly in part due to a large donation that was made to the Republican Party.

Full background here:

Omar Kamal Qudrat, 36

Omar Qudrat is a proud Muslim candidate from outside San Diego County – either Los Angeles, Washington DC, or New York, depending on which records you look at.  His background is mostly a mystery and his website gives no details about his past except some vague claims of working for the government prosecuting terrorists, but he is not a prosecutor.  He claims to be a practicing lawyer, but he has never been licensed with the California Bar to practice law here.  He is a licensed attorney in New York.  Records indicate Qudrat has never voted in a California election.  He claims to be from Los Angeles and records do show multiple addresses for him and his family members in the L.A. area.  He has no ties nor previous addresses anywhere near San Diego County.  Qudrat supposedly now lives in a high rise building in downtown San Diego, but IF that’s true, that puts him outside the 52nd District that he is running for Congress in.  Qudrat has never held or run for political office before.

Shockingly, Omar Qudrat is being supported, promoted, and financed nationally by Muslims with ties to CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood.  Some of the donors to his campaign in the attachment above have been confirmed to be members of one or both of those radical Islamic groups.  Almost all of them live outside San Diego County and many of them live outside California.  They have donated many thousands of dollars to Qudrat’s campaign to help him become the next Congressman from San Diego, a new and growing Muslim stronghold in the United States.

CAPT John’s detailed research and report proves once again that it is absolutely crucial to vet all candidates thoroughly prior to endorsing and supporting  them.  Careless endorsements like the San Diego GOP did on Renison and Qudrat do great harm to the conservative movement in America and all of us fighting to make America great again and keep us safe from foreign threats.

Reflection

This action is meaningful to me on many levels. For the last five years, I have witnessed California's Republican Central Committees get away with making bad decisions and undermining good people for political quiescence, in the vain hopes that they could make a few wins by making the least noise or taking limited stances on controversial subjects.

That kind of mealy-mouthed activity never works. Look at the Boy Scouts, which are now giving up the word "Boy" to more inclusive. The results will be that fewer families will sign up their boys for this organization, and ultimately the whole movement will die away.

The California Republican Party is ebbing away because they refuse to stand for anything. They do not hold their candidates and elected officials to any standards, but pretty much allow them to get away with believing whatever they want to believe, but those candidates can still call themselves whatever they want to.

The Chairman said to one group "We need to be nice."

Being Nice Doesn't Work, and too many left-wing forces and influences have taken care of this undue benevolence. It's time to confront the leaders in our political parties as well as our government--at all levels.

A resolution proposed by Mayor Pro Tem Allan Mansoor passed by a 3-2 vote to oppose the Sanctuary State Law, SB 54, and reaffirm that Costa Mesa is a rule of law city.

IT WAS A LONG NIGHT IN COSTA MESA!
There were about 95 public speakers.  47 opposed the Sanctuary State Law and 48 supported the Sanctuary State Law.  Each speaker was allowed 3 minutes so it was a long night! The police and mayor kept tight control on the proceedings during the meeting.

It was reported to an attendee via an email that Council Member Foley organized the various groups and Costa Mesa leftist residents who turned out in order to support the Sanctuary State Law SB 54 and berate Mayor Pro Tem Mansoor for putting the Sanctuary State issue on the agenda.  LULAC (The League of United Latin American Citizens), ACLU, indivisible/Resist members and various Orange County pro illegal groups were at the council meeting and spoke out. We The People Rising members attended to support the rule of law, as well as Concerned Citizens, America First Latinos, The Remembrance Project, LA County for Trump, and Latinos for Trump.

It was passionate night - with the mayor pounding her gavel frequently. The meeting ended at approximately 1am!

Costa Mesa: YUGE Victory for We the People vs. Sanctuary State

May 1, 2018 didn't look like a sure victory for LA County for Trump and We the People Rising speaking out against SB 54.

The city council had tried to voice official opposition to SB 54 when the legislation was still going through the state legislature in Sacramento. The motion to oppose failed by 2-3. Sad, but true, and the majority of the city council is Republican!

We had no idea what to expect going into the city council meeting that night. The Costa Mesa Police were ready in full force. As you can expect, we patriots and pro-rule of law activists are such a threat to the established order (as if!).

The police insisted that we line up one at a time to enter the city council chambers. I showed up with two of my fellow Trump supporters Kira Innis and Harim Uzziel--to the fullest with a passion!

Trump supporters from all over Southern California arrived in Costa Mesa, and we pretty much had the run of the place. A number of Costa Mesa residents did show up, along with the usual crowd of pro-SB 54 forces. The local media and left-wing activists have referred to us as clowns and a "hate circus", yet the active and abuse Indivisible Groups bring hate to a whole new level. The Vice-Chair of the Orange County Democratic Party called a Vietnamese-American a "traitor" just for having a difference of opinion on whom should be President of the United States. He flipped me off, too.

Other college-age protesters--many of whom do not live in the cities where they fight to support SB 54--have been very rude to the public, to city councilmembers, and even to the police officers. In Westminster, it was appalling to see the protesters of Asian descent shaming and diminishing Mayor Tri Ta and his colleague Tyler Diep. Do they not have a right to fight for their country, regardless of their national origin and ethnic background?

Guess who was there to support the rule of law and take a stand against this lawless, unconstitutional sanctuary state policy?

DANA!

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher is one of very few politicians whom I find fundamentally trustworthy. I rarely say that, since most politicos are more interested in getting votes than making a difference.

It was good to see Dana there to support our widespread efforts to stop Sanctuary State and put the safety of Americans and sovereignty of America first.

Here are fellow Trump supporters, including Elsa Aldeguer of Latinos for Trump:

Costa Mesa was a tight ship for the rest of the evening.

The city council agenda was pretty light, but the two sides of the chambers were clearly divided. We the People sat on the right, while the open-border proponents sat on the left (how apropos!).

I had received a text message from MoveOn.org, which has become a very active contingent in Southern California, since they left is targeting Orange County like crazy for Election 2018. I was surprised that there weren't that many people there, although a large number of Costa Mesa residents did turn out to oppose or support SB 54.

The most hostile member of the city council, Katrina Foley, doggedly interrupted speakers from the dais, including Congressman Rohrabacher, who lives in Costa Mesa. Their lack of knowledge of the Ralph M. Brown Act was pretty stunning. Clearly, Democratic elected officials are doing everything they can to stop the anti-SB54 movement across the state.

But they are failing.

Here's the whole video I recorded live at the city council meeting:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtAHbMUlzho

Check out We the People showing our opposition to Sanctuary State:

Police did escort out a few of our members, but they were allowed back in:

The police in Costa Mesa were incredibly high maintenance. Mayor Sandra Genis demanded order repeatedly, and slammed her gavel a number of times when loud applause or boos followed different remarks from the audience. She seemed partial to slamming Trump supporters, but the police on site also addressed concerns with the left-wing demonstrators in the audience, too.

By the way, members of the different protests on both sides have found some common ground. We have found ways to be civil to each other--at least for those who are willing to talk to us:

Skye Wagner supports SB 54, but she is willing to talk with us who oppose it. Her husband struggled to obtain legal status as an immigrant from Germany. I would never dispute that the immigration process has bureaucratic flaws, but we must stop the non-stop flow of illegals and third-world migrants into our country and our state.

I wish that more people on her side would discuss the issues rather than shaming and dismissing opponents of illegal immigration and amnesty as bigots, racists, xenophobes, and white supremacists. It's truly shameful, but at least the race card has gotten played out so badly that fewer people are intimidated or bothered by it.

Some of the highlights of the meeting:

Sparks flew between the councilmembers on the dais. Allen Mansoor, who had served in the state assembly for two terms, then ran for Board of Supervisors, brought forward the resolution, then shared that he wanted the city to file an amicus brief with the Department of Justice of with the city of Huntington Beach.

Mansoor informed the public that when he brought an ICE agent into the Costa Mesa jail, the city ended up apprehending and processing 1,300 illegal aliens. That's an incredibly high number. Councilwoman Foley and Genis talked about the sober living homes that are overwhelming the city as well as the entire county. Most people in the state and throughout the country do not know about the Sober Living home crisis that has overwhelmed Southern California, but the issues with parking, loitering, drug use, littering, and the general civic decline in the city have overrun the once quaint and beautiful city.

Crime is rampant in the city, too, especially because of transients stealing property and disturbing the peace. Needle use from drug users has littered the city public areas inexorably. Parks are becoming less safe, too. I was astounded

Councilman Stephens asked some pointed questions about ICE Detainers and pointed out to the public that the city of Costa Mesa had stopped honoring those detainers in 2014. Yes, a federal court ruling in Oregon had struck down the initial detainers, but then ICE revised the detainers to make them compliant with the Fourth Amendment. The ACLU never bothered to inform city councils that they are now constitutional, of course.

Councilman Righeimer asked why the city council had not been informed about the ACLU letter until that day. Wow, that is disturbing!

Members of the audience spent a lot of time shaming and lying about Councilman Mansoor, claiming that he had violated the residency requirements for city councilmembers. That was a cheap, flimsy attempt to discredit the councilman's efforts to fight illegal immigration. It was a pretty low blow, and other members of the city council didn't care. The pro-open border people also slammed Councilman Righeimer, talking about his connections with Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Scott Baugh.

A number of candidates for the 48th Congressional District were in the audience, both Democrat and Republican working hard for the vote on June 5th. During public comment before the public hearing on SB 54, a bunch of the left-wing activists slammed the Republicans in Orange County and the candidates running for office because they were using the SB 54 discussion to prop up their campaigns.

What hypocrisy. The Indivisible and La Raza activists have been doing the same thing for the last year and a half, too.

Before public comment, Councilwoman Foley requested that every speaker at the podium identify which city they lived in. That is a clear violation of the Ralph M. Brown Act, and many of us in the audience reminded of her of these abusive attempts to mar our First Amendment Rights. The police tried to maintain order, and a few times he directly instructed people on both sides to watch what they said. Still, it was quite alarming for Councilwoman Foley to behave in such a rude and illegal fashion.

There were a number of Costa Mesa residents who spoke in favor of SB 54 and requested the city council to simply receive and file the resolution. Toward the end of the public hearing, Robin Hvidston and I wondered if the mayor or Councilman Stephens would change their minds from the previous vote and go along with the resolution.

During my public comment, I reminded the council that the ICE Detainers had changed so that they were compliant with the Fourth Amendment. Wearing a picture of Marcello Bisarello, I informed the dais that illegal immigration has a real toll, and there is a human face to the immense suffering and crime to the invasion along our southern borders. I clashed briefly with Mayor Genis because I insisted that she look at my shirt. With no ill will toward her or anyone else, I just wanted to make it clear to the audience that the human costs of illegal immigration cannot be ignored.

My other talking point focused on the flimsy argument that resolutions are symbolic, and therefore utterly meaningless. That is not true, especially since such vocal opposition arrived from within and outside of the city to stop the resolution. I wanted the city to go to the fullest extent possible to opt out of SB 54, but anything was better than nothing in my view.

Final Vote: Victory!

Here's the final hour of the city council meeting:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxQEQ4FqLsY

The public hearing closed following five hours of testimony. Incredible, but true.

Two city councilmembers clearly supported the resolution: Mansoor and Righeimer.

Councilman Stephens hid behind legal mumbo jumbo to justify his silence. He even admitted on camera that he was more interested in fostering a nice relationship with elected officials at the state and federal level. Unbelievable. He has no interest in championing the interests of the city and individual liberties. Local control obviously means nothing to him, too.

It irritates me to no end that elected officials want to punt on the United States Constitution and the constitutionality of the rule of law. Every individual has the right and simple authority to declare and affirm what is and is not in compliance with the United States Constitution. Elected officials have no right to hide behind "Let the courts decide." That's becoming a large part of the problem in the American legal culture.
Robin Hvidston

Katrina Foley vilely smeared the members of the audience in opposition to SB 54. She even shamed the mayor, who wanted to get past the "Racist vs. Pro-Criminal" divide which had emerged in the debate over SB 54. Mayor Genis approach was understandable, and she pointed out the biggest problem with SB 54: the legislation allows illegal alien criminals back onto Costa Mesa streets instead of turning them over to ICE for deportation.

Yes, SB 54 does directly affect every city, including Costa Mesa.

Councilman Jim Righeimer talked openly about his political views and affiliation. He mentioned that he was not an ardent Trump supporter, but voted for him and affirmed his commitment to the vote, because everything that Trump talked about was RIGHT!

Finally ... the vote.

It looked really close. I had anticipated another 2-3 loss.

But the Mayor stood her ground and sided with the Sheriff of Orange County and voted for the resolution! It was pretty sickening and aggravating to see the other two city council members--Foley and Stephens--attempt to sway her vote, but they failed.

It was a surprising victory, and we are all happy for it.

VICTORY!!!

MassResistance: Baker Gets Burned, Pro-Family Scott Lively Forces Primary

In a win for the pro-family movement in uber-liberal Marx-achusetts, MassResistance members and speaker Scott Lively wow-ed the Mass GOP crowd during their convention and forced incumbent RINO Governor Charlie Baker into a primary.

This is YUGE.

Keep in mind, everyone, that you are talking to a life-long Republican who wants Republicans to win. But there is no value in having a Republican in office when they sell out the principles on which they ran for office. Even worse, when an incumbent undermines the foundational principles of our Judeo-Christian culture, he hurts everyone.

I really admire that MassResistance is fighting the culture wars and doesn't spare their outrage for either party. Elected officials must work for the best interests of the people whom they serve. That has not been happening in Marxachusetts for the last thirty plus years, and it's time to Make Massachusetts Great Again.

That includes forcing the governor to respect natural law and natural rights, which Baker threw away to make nice with the liberal loonies running Beacon Hill--and who cares if he dressed down the Corner Office!

Go Scott Lively Go! Check out the report from MassResistance:

Scott Lively upends Mass. State GOP Convention – gets 28% of convention vote for Governor!

Forces primary race against incumbent (RINO) Republican Charlie Baker!

Overcame massive campaign by establishment to stop Lively.

Also at convention: Huge pro-family wins in other major races.

May 2, 2018

Scott Lively during his speech before the Mass. GOP State Convention. It was a barn-burner! [All photos and video by MassResistance.]
In what can be considered the greatest Massachusetts pro-family victory in many years, Pastor Scott Lively shocked the GOP establishment (and the liberal media) at the Massachusetts State Republican Convention of the 2,300 delegates, held on April 28 at the DCU Center in Worcester. Lively clinched an official nomination for governor by receiving 28% of the convention vote against the current GOP governor, Charlie Baker, who is running for re-election. Lively will now run in a primary against Baker on Sept. 4. He accomplished this despite a massive effort by the GOP establishment to keep him from getting on the ballot. His speech before the convention (see video below) was a barn-burner that went right at the Governor.

Lively's supporters made themselves very visible.

A lot of Lively supporters also word "Make America Great Again" hats to show their support for President Trump -- whom Baker distances himself from -- along with "Governor Lively" stickers.

A terrible RINO as Mass. Governor

Over the last four years, Governor Charlie Baker has become beloved in the liberal press, but has been a nightmare for the GOP conservatives. Baker is enthusiastically pro-abortion, pro-LGBT, anti-Trump, and brags about “working across the aisle” with the Left.
Just of a few of Baker’s outrages:
  • He released a campaign video supporting “gay marriage”.
  • He filled much of his administration with liberal Democrats.
  • He signed the transgender “bathroom bill” into law.
  • He raised over a million dollars to unseat conservative members of the GOP State Committee
  • He announced that he would provide funding for Planned Parenthood if they lost federal funding.
  • His state budget included $1.4 billion to fight “climate change.”
  • He refused to meet with Vice President Pence when he was recently in town.
  • And much more.
All the while, Baker has been openly hostile to conservatives while friendly to liberals of all stripes.

Lively jumps into the race

Many remember that Scott Lively also ran for Governor four years ago as an Independent. He received only about 1% of the vote. But he got his feet wet, participated in some candidate debates, and a lot of people got to know him.
Back in December, Scott Lively announced that he would run against the Charlie Baker – this time as a Republican. Massachusetts needs conservative principles, and the Massachusetts GOP needs to be sent a strong message, said Lively. (See the website.) He was quickly welcomed by Republican activists across the state.
But getting on the Republican ballot is not easy. Besides getting the state-mandated 10,000 signatures, a Republican candidate for statewide office must also get at least 15% of the votes of delegates at the annual GOP convention. Many have failed at that. The GOP establishment is known for using sleazy tactics to keep conservatives off. Four years ago Mark Fisher barely squeaked by after the establishment tried to cheat him out of votes, but MassResistance videoed the count proving he actually made it. (Our video ended up costing the GOP $240,000 to settle Fisher’s subsequent lawsuit over it.)

Huge effort to keep Lively from getting 15% of the convention vote

Both the Baker campaign and the Mass. GOP establishment wanted the Governor to avoid having a primary opponent, especially someone as articulate as Lively. But they also knew there is great dissatisfaction and anger at Baker from conservatives.
So the Baker campaign embarked on a large, expensive campaign to persuade delegates to vote for him – or at least reject Lively by simply “blanking out” the ballot. Mailings, phone calls, personal pressure, etc. – including a vicious under-the-radar effort to discredit and demonize Lively personally. It lasted right up until the vote at the convention. We have rarely seen anything like it. More details on that coming up.

The Baker campaign had dozens of campaign workers in green shirts (with "18" on the back) with clipboards, to buttonhole delegates they believed were voting for LIvely.

The Baker army really worked the crowd.

A barn-burner speech by Lively

When it came to giving their convention speeches, the Governor spoke first. It was a fairly standard (and boring) stump speech, re-tooled a bit for the more conservative crowd. He talked about what he considered his accomplishments over the last four years and how he differed from the Democrats who control the state. He claimed credit for the economic turn-around. He never referred to Lively, either directly or indirectly.

Lively's banner that hung over the convention hall proceedings.
Then Scott Lively spoke. He was on fire (being a pastor helps with that)! He held nothing back. He lit right into the Governor. He talked about the terrible failings of the current administration and its liberal direction. When Lively talked about his support for President Trump he got loud cheers from the audience. He talked about his conservative vision for Massachusetts compared to the RINO-like GOP establishment. As his banner at the convention says, Lively is "Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Business, and Pro-Trump." He exhorted his supporters not to “blank out” their ballots, but to vote boldly!
VIDEO of Scott Lively speech before Mass. GOP Convention
NOTE: We are fixing the flicker problems. New version being uploaded!

Not happy campers. During Scott Lively's speech, State GOP Chairman Kirsten Hughes (left) and National Committeeman Ron Kaufman were not enjoying themselves.

But most of the delegates seemed seemed spellbound as Lively's tore apart the GOP establishment and talked about conservative values.
When the votes were counted – this time electronically, by an outside firm – Scott Lively shocked the Baker people and the establishment by getting nearly 28% of the delegates’ votes. They were visibly stunned.

Almost immediately after the vote, Gov. Baker (second from right) exited through a back door of the DCU Center.

The liberal media reacts

Within hours the major Massachusetts newspapers had articles posted about Lively making the ballot. One could tell that the reporters were seething under the surface. The Boston Globe’s State House reporter continued to call Lively a “fringe candidate.”

The other major pro-family victories at the convention!

According to the GOP Convention rules, the candidate who gets more than 50% of the delegate votes becomes the official “endorsed” candidate for that office in the primary. That can be important! If there are several candidates who get at least 15% but no one breaks 50%, they keep voting until someone gets over 50%.
Besides the Governor’s race, there were two offices where there were multiple candidates: Attorney General (to run against incumbent Democrat Maura Healey) and United States Senator (to run against incumbent Democrat Elizabeth Warren).
The anti-establishment wave was definitely felt:
For the Attorney General primary, Jay McMahon, a strong pro-family, pro-Second Amendment candidate won the endorsement, against Dan Shores. Jay is the real thing!
For the U.S. Senate primary, Geoff Diehl won the endorsement (after multiple floor votes) against John Kingston, an anti-Trump millionaire businessman, and Beth Lindstrom, a RINO from the Romney administration who was the favorite of the establishment. Geoff is currently a State Rep and one of the few who doesn’t sell out his conservative principles to the GOP leadership. He co-chaired the Trump-for-President campaign in 2016.

MassResistance table at the convention!

This year MassResistance had a table at the GOP convention. And we didn’t hold back, either. Of course, we were prominently selling our book, The Health Hazards of Homosexuality. But to reinforce the point, we were also selling our bare-knuckled “culture war” stickers.

The MassResistance table.

Our stickers (and book) were quite popular!
We didn’t anticipate was that our stickers would be quite popular, particularly with the younger crowd! Even some employees of the DCU Center bought some. We get the distinct feeling that people are tired of mealy-mouthed pro-family groups – and are looking for real culture-war fighters!

What would a GOP convention be without an LGBT table? This one was opposing the upcoming Mass. ballot question to repeal the "bathroom bill" that Gov. Charlie Baker signed into law last year.

What this means

For Scott Lively to get on the primary ballot against a sitting Governor – and getting over a quarter of the GOP convention delegates’ votes – is the Republican establishment’s worst nightmare. Dr. Lively is intelligent, articulate, knowledgeable on all the issues, a powerful speaker, and rock solid on everything pro-family and conservative. We’re not holding our breath for the Governor to agree to debate Lively in the primary.
Plus, Scott Lively doesn’t bend. That’s why the grassroots delegates like him – and why the liberals and RINOS hate him so much. They are often very hostile to what Lively has said or written, but when challenged they ultimately can’t claim that he’s factually incorrect.
Scott Lively is not simply “working the system,” but is taking the fight directly to our opponents. This is what should be happening across America (and beyond). The time for fearful, mealy-mouthed conservatives is over. We believe that Scott Lively represents a winning culture-war strategy. This will be an interesting summer in Massachusetts!
