Letter to the Editor: Another Scandal Under Shulkin
Scandal at VA in Media
Even after an investigation conducted by VA Central Office (Office of Accountability Review) was done, Veterans disability benefits are still being unlawfully denied at Salt Lake City VA. Please the 2 BVA remands I sent you for proof of that.
The Central Office investigation unsubstantiated the allegation that Bennion (then Chief of Administrative medicine- compensation/pension) was making his subordinates unlawfully deny Veterans' benefits to cover it up.
Wrongdoers in management such Bennion/Gribbin/ Stovall are being protected promoted and rewarded.
Although Bennion was technically demoted to become Director of Employee Health (tier 2 salary), Stovall gave him a tier exception so that he could keep his previous higher tier 3 salary. He is still being allowed to unlawfully deny Veterans' disability claims despite substantiated anti-Veteran bias during investigation.
Gribbin appears to be unscathed as she continues to remain the Chief of Staff.
Stovall was promoted from Acting Director to Director though Andrew Kalinen's testimony in investigation shows that she was aware of the problems with Bennion all along but she only protected Bennion/Gribbin and retaliated with disciplinary actions against whistleblowers (upheld admonishments against both Kulkarni's despite no faults found in their work), and asked both the Kulkarnis to resign in EEO settlement counteroffers.
When we asked the Central Office for copy of the Investigation report, they suppressed it from us. In collusion with Central Office, in an unsolicited email to us Stovall covered up the 2 substantiated findings of mismanagement of compensation and pension by Bennion and Gribbin. The report was later made available to us when the House Committee of Veterans affairs got involved.
On the other hand, whistle-blowers like us (Kulkarnis) are being forced out and made to suffer. Stovall upheld admonishment against us though no faults were found in our work. She asked both of us to resign in EEO settlement counter-offer. She also demoted us from higher pay table 2 to lower pay table 1 without justification.
On the other hand, VA secretary Shulkin is wasting taxpayer money on himself , his wife, and his crony VA bosses, while Veterans' benefits are being unlawfully denied under his watch.
Utah has the 2nd highest Veteran suicide rate, after Montana. Unlawful denial of their benefits surely does not help decrease Veteran suicide. How many Disabled Veterans could receive food clothing and shelter with the tax payer money wasted on Shulkin's recreation and tier 3 exception given to the mismanager Bennion by his accomplice Stovall?
Recently Shulkin wanted to take unemployment benefits away from older Veterans. Media is the only way to hold these misbehaving VA bosses accountable!!! Will you help our Veterans get what they have earned and deserve.....

Trump Supporter Takes on Single Payer Advocates in Orange County
Check out one of my videos in Orange County from yesterday.
The Indivisible movement is working overtime, targeting every Republican district they can in California. Hillary Clinton won the majority vote in about 6 districts, but the Democrats have expanded their map to about ten of the 14 Republican house reps in the state.
This little outing at the VA Clinic in Laguna Beach was funny.
And laughable.
Where was everybody? They had a grant total of six people, including their featured speaker, a doctor in emergency medicine.
Unbelievable.
It looks like this left-wing movement is hitting some dry spots, running out of steam, if you will.
They are committed to pushing for socialized medicine of any kind, whether holding onto Obamacare, pushing Medicare for all, or demanding single-payer.
These programs are a total disaster, and I tried to discuss my concerns about these programs with the members of this "Health Care Voter" group.

After the "event", for what it was worth, a veteran showed up, who attends a meeting at the clinic.
He outlined for me the many problems with socialized medicine. He hates the VA, and he told me that he would rather have choices and go to any hospital he wants. The Veterans Administration is a perfect example of government-run single-payer health care.
And it sucks. Why don't these Indivisible left-wing activists care what veterans think?

New Jersey Press in the Tank for Murphy? (Single-Payer Problems)
The media doesn't hide the biases anymore.
The New Jersey Press in greater measure is totally in the tank for Sanctuary State, Goldman Sachs Murphy.
Check out this tweet from one of the reporters fro NJ.com:
The song and dance that I got from the reporter, who has his cellphone number listed on his Twitter feed, is that Guadagno has been looking for any way possible to drag down Murphy's chances.
The sanctuary state proposal is really hurting him.
The talk about turning New Jersey into a single-payer country, too.
The reporter mentioned that such a proposal is beyond ludicrous, since there is no way the state could afford it. Reportedly, Murphy acknowledges that it's a great idea, and indeed, health care is a right to the Left.
But even though the progressives tried and failed to pass single payer in Vermont, the truth is that a gubernatorial candidate who runs on turning his home state into a sanctuary state will have no qualms about pursuing single-payer health care.
He will bury the Garden State without thinking twice about costs.
And the press doesn't care.

Single-Payer Meetings: More Cult Than Community
Three months ago, I attended a single-payer health care meeting in Culver City.
I didn't want someone to try and change my mind about single-payer or socialized medicine. Since I began studying this health care topic at length, I have been militantly opposed to government overreach and overtaking of the medical profession. I want our doctors to be free to practice medicine, while consumers can enjoy the privilege and opportunity of choosing the best doctors and care at a proper price.
Health care costs are skyrocketing, and health insurance has become so far out of financial reach that most Americans just forgo purchasing the plans altogether. The real reforms which need to take place must focus on scaling back government intervention. Let me buy health insurance across state lines. We need to implement proper tort reforms so that lawsuit abuse comes to an end.
How about ensuring lower regulatory burdens, too?
Health care is a sore subject, the biggest concern for people on the left, while people on the right are the most alarmed about public safety and immigration.
The Culver City event was available to the public, but they did ask me to put my camera away at the end.

The entrance appeared at the back end of the building, strangely enough, but no big deal.
Most of the people were gathered in a room toward the middle of the building. Most of them were in their 50s and 60s. There were maybe two or three Millennials, and there was myself.
Maureen Cruise was heading the event, leading the discussion and the plans that all the other members of the group were invested in. The people in the room were set up in a circle mostly. Some of the people reached out to me right away and greeted me. I told them up front that I am opposed to single-payer health care, but I was willing to listen to everyone else's reasons for supporting it.
Maureen Cruise told me that she received free health care in Spain when she visited, there. "You are human, therefore we are treating you"--that's what they had told her. OK. I would never challenge the individual accounts shared by others. I do not accept the premise that health care is free. No service or commodity is free, since someone pays that cost of providing those goods and services.
Furthermore, the taxpayers in this country pick up the tab on everyone. How is this fair? How is this wise?
At any rate, I went to every length I could to have an open mind that night.
The main subject of discussion focused on SB 562, the single-payer legislation which the California State Senate had passed, but which Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon had shelved. That decision was one of the few actions taken by this uber-liberal Speaker which I applauded. Of course, the California Nurses Association was furious, and some of the union's members were present in the meeting that night.
Many of the progressives and liberals acknowledge outright disgust with the Democratic Party, in the similar way that grassroots conservatives have lost their peace with Establishment Republicans. The Democratic Party has placed single-payer health care as one of their key platforms for decades, and they were so close to seeing that dream come true in California.
But it didn't. Even the most liberal, progressive, left-leaning of Democrats cannot make money appear out of nowhere, and even the most ardent of Democratic activists in the State Assembly must balance the budget and present proposals which Governor Brown will sign.
During the discussion, I was surprised that there were individuals in the meeting who oppose single-payer health care, not just myself. Some of the people were ardent advocates, and they had plenty of material with time to make their case and promote the program to anyone who wanted to listen.
Some of the attendees were very rude to me, because I wanted to ask questions and challenge the ideas I was hearing from different people in the room. One guy was down-right hostile to my opposition to SB 562, claiming that I basically wanted people to die.
Huh? This is what has become of rational discussion on this very contentious, serious issue in our country and from our government?
After preliminary comments from Maureen, she showed a video from the latest DNC Convention, in which hardened single-payer activists confronted Keith Ellison over enacting socialized medicine at all costs. It was refreshing as well as entertaining to watch Democratic Party leaders run for safety and obscurity from angry party leaders. The growing divide within the Democratic Party should awaken many to rejoice. The Center-Right political coalition has grown stronger than ever, and the opposition to Big Government bullying and Globalist aspirations is falling apart fast.
At any rate, people went around the room and introduced themselves on different issues. People were more than happy to share about their efforts to recall Speaker Anthony Rendon and any other Democrat who was opposed to single-payer health care. I laughed when I told everyone that I supported their efforts to recall Rendon!
Throughout the meeting, I was surprised at how much time and energy the single-payer advocates had invested in pushing the agenda. There were men and women in the room prepared to sign up and go door-knocking in Speaker Anthony Rendon's neighborhood to make the case for going single-payer. They also wanted to organize and agitate the predominantly Hispanic voters in Rendon's district to coalesce and throw out the Speaker in the upcoming election if a recall effort did not succeed.
After the meeting, I talked with two people. One older gentleman was born in New York City, and he appealed to his Jewish faith as a reason for pressing for single-payer health care. While we were talking, he repeated to me how much he adamantly opposed Obamacare, precisely because it did not go far enough! When I pointed out to him the statistics and the anecdotes about single-payer countries--long waiting lines, incompetence, malfeasance, poor quality if medical care--he became indignant, and said: "So what's your alternative? Everyone dies?!"
This kind of rude riposte was all too common from other people. The same guy who had mocked me earlier in the meeting then doubled-down on his hateful rhetoric. I eventually confronted him, but he said that I did not want to have a serious conversation, then ran away:
Final Reflection
Whenever I wanted to have a serious discussion of the issues and concerns connected with single-payer health care, I was met with derision and hatred. I knew that these men and women are fully invested in making this government-run health care program happen, but how do they want to pay for it? Why won't they respond to the growing voices of concern calling out the inefficiencies and rationing?
The more people whom I contact--who have lived in single-payer system countries, the less I want to see government-dominated medicine in the United States.
We have to stand up to this!
But still, after all the information in opposition to implementing the program, these people are still committed to single payer.
What is going on?
I conclude that this is a religion. The whole commitment to government-run health care is a cult for these adherents. They are not interest in facts. They are not interested in anything that will undermine their idealized "cause". It's an article of faith with these proponents, and they will not allow anyone to speak against the single-payer dogma. This rigid blindness is damaging, and it's putting people's lives at risk.
We just can't have it, folks, It's time to make the case to as many young people as possible to reject socialized medicine and to strive for individual liberty and accountability at all costs, especially in our health care. Our lives depend on it.

Montana GOP Goes After Dem Senator for Embracing Single-Payer Health Care
RELEASE: Chairman Lamm Blasts Tester’s Support for Single-Payer Health Care
HELENA, MONT. – Chairman Debra Lamm released the following statement today on Senator Tester’s support for a single-payer health care system:
“Senator Tester’s call for a single-payer health care system would be an absolute disaster for Montana families. As if Obamacare wasn’t bad enough, this would mean a complete government takeover of our health care industry. The result would be even higher premiums, rationed care, long wait times, and massive tax increases. This is socialized medicine and it does not represent our Montana values. Montanans will remember the tremendous burden Tester wants to place on our families with his support for single payer health care.”

Widely Traveled American Rejects Single-Payer: Here's Why
The regressive Left loved to sing the praises of socialized medicine, or single-payer health care.
But the stories that I have heard, plus the research I have conducted, cannot make it clearer that single-payer health care is not good.
Universal health care is neither universal nor health care.
Consider these three examples for more reasons to oppose its implementation in California or anywhere else.

As I said, I lived in Europe (Norway and England)as a teen. Both had government run healthcare. I have three stories for you.
1) An American woman living in Norway (Stavanger) fell on the ice one day and broke her arm. It took so long for her to get care that the arm had healed and they had to break her arm again in order to reset it correctly.
2) Living in England, I became ill. I was taken to a doctor there but he had no clue what was wrong with me. It wasn't until about four years later that I was diagnosed with autoimmune disease which had begun while I was in London.
3) A friend and her husband were recently living in Sweden (he was with the embassy there). She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. They made a date for surgery for SIX months from the diagnosis! They instead, came back to the States, she had surgery right away and now about two years later is still alive and cancer free.
Socialized healthcare in a nutshell. Drives me crazy when people (as I saw someone today saying to you on your live feed) say that we all will get this wonderful FREE care. The ignorance is astounding.

After finding out about Permanent Minority Leader Cheating Chad Mayes' chief of staff, I started looking at the chiefs of staff and surrounding officers for the other California legislators.
Lo and Behold, here's what I found about Kevin Liao, the press secretary for Speaker Anthony Rendon:

One reason, perhaps, why Rendon backed away from going full single-payer?

He likes to run a lot. He worked for Bill Dodd and Mike Gatto's campaigns.
OK, sure, we get it: Liao is a hard-core operative for the Democratic Party. That's all nice and good--for the Democrats, of course.

Progressives Strike Back Against the Empire of Rendon

SACRAMENTO >> Democrats control every lever of power in
California state government, and free from worrying about major losses to
Republicans, they’re training fire instead on each other.
The latest example is a recall effort against Assembly Speaker Anthony
Rendon, a strong progressive now targeted by party activists upset that he
derailed a bill seeking government-funded health care for all.
Rendon is not strong enough as a progressive. Apparently, he is too establishment for most of the Bernie-crats who have taken over the California Democratic Party. Former Chairman John Burton could not shout "F--- You" loud enough to get rid of them.
The Rendon recall comes as the California Democratic Party contends
with a protracted leadership battle that is as much about donors and messaging
as it is about ideals. It follows a contentious battle among environmentalists
over the state’s cap-and-trade law to fight climate change, which some thought
was too deferential to oil companies.
The Cap and Trade bill was cronyism at its worst, so much so that leftists were calling me urging me to work with them to defeat this terrible piece of legislation. What made it worse, of course, was that 8 Republicans in Sacramento voted for this abortive, perverse piece of legislation.
While Democrats in liberal California feud with Washington and proudly
cast themselves as a foil to Republican President Donald Trump, they’re far
from united at home.
For Rendon, the backlash began after he sidelined the bill, SB562,
which looked to eliminate insurance companies in California and make state
government the “single-payer” for health care services.
He had a few reasons for pushing aside SB 562:
1. The state cannot afford it, even if they taxed everyone at 100%
2. Big Pharma and the other major medical firms don't want it.
3. His assembly Democratic caucus signalled to him that they did not want to vote for it.
Too many compelling reasons to sit on that bill. Rendon threw himself on a grenade, supposedly. Now we all know even more why the California Democrats rushed through
An image quickly made the rounds on social media showing an altered
version of California’s flag: Instead of a grizzly bear walking on all fours,
it showed the beast standing on its hind legs, a knife in its back, with
“Rendon” printed on the blade.
A few days later, hundreds of activists filled the Capitol rotunda
outside Rendon’s office, their chants echoing throughout the building.
They also threatened his life as well as the lives of other Assembly and State Senate Democrats who did not vote for this bill--or who did not want to vote for it.
Rendon said he supports single-payer health care in concept, but that
SB562 was “woefully incomplete.” The measure lacked key details about how a
single-payer system would function, including a plan to raise the estimated
$400 billion it would cost.
It was woefully complete. Once again, the Democratic Party is taking their grassroots supporters for a ride. Senators Ricardo Lara and Tony Atkins never intended for anything to become real. They just passed the legislation to rally more political power and support to their own individual causes.
Here's what's happening for next year:
1. Ricardo Lara is running for Insurance Commissioner. He needs the Nurses' Unions and all the other Big Labor supporters and their money to back him up.
2. Toni Atkins wants to be the next State Senate Pro Tem since Kevin de Leon is termed out and is running for Lieutenant Governor. She is lining up all the major donors to ensure her victory, just as she pushed out former State Senator Marty Block last year, when it looked as though a Democratic battle royale
“We’re going to continue to hold him and all other politicians
accountable for their actions,” said Don Nielsen, government relations director
for the California Nurses Association. “This is too important an issue.”
Goveronment relations director for a government union: what could go wrong? Perhaps, just perhaps some of the Democrats in Sacramento will join with Republicans like me who want to end the chokehold of Big Labor on our wallets and the levers of government. Just maybe ...
The nursing union, which made the altered flag image, was the driving
force behind the single-payer bill and its ascendance as a rallying cry for
progressive activists, but Nielsen said the group is not working on the Rendon
recall effort. The union’s focus is now on meeting with Democratic lawmakers
and urging them to pressure Rendon to move the bill forward, he said.
Yeah, sure, whatever you say ...
Rendon declined to comment for this story. His spokesman, Kevin Liao,
pointed to a variety of legislation that’s passed on the speaker’s watch,
including a $15 minimum wage, an expansion of the state’s Medi-Cal program to
provide health insurance coverage for children in the country illegally, gun
control legislation and tobacco restrictions.
“Those are real progressive accomplishments that have improved
Californians’ lives and grown the economy,” Liao said.
The $15 forced wage hike is pushing entry-level workers into unemployment.The expansion of Medic-Cal for illegal aliens is not helping our economy. In fact, it's another leg of the redistributionist scheme draining the public coffers. Gun control legislation is not progressive at all--but is regressive.
It’s unclear if the recall organizers will be able to mount a serious
challenge to Rendon, who has more than $1 million in his campaign accounts and
in three elections has never gotten less than 69 percent of the vote. Steve
Elzie, one of the organizers, said it’s a grassroots effort without big
funders. The organizers must collect more than 20,000 signatures from Rendon’s
district to hold a recall election.
20,000 should not be that hard to collect, considering that single-payer adherents have almost a cult-life faith in government-run health care.
“There’s a lot of economic issues that go into it. The fact that
Democrats are not fighting on these issues, I think people have taken notice,”
Elzie said.
Rendon represents a mostly working-class district south of Los Angeles.
Quiet and reserved, he stands out in the state capital of Sacramento in large
part for his absence from public spectacles.
"Working-class" might become "unemployed-class", since Rendon's "progressive" policies are pushing businesses into bankruptcy and workers out of work. Rendon represents some of the worst-run, most run-down cities in California and the United States, and he has nothing to stay for his abject disregard for these communities, either.
In contrast to the Senate leader, Kevin de Leon, Rendon does not hold
frequent news conferences or comment on the news of the day. He rose to power
largely by promising to delegate it to committee chairs and others in his
party.
LOL! This is the same guy who threw Rudy Salas out of a chairmanship because Salas kept his promise to his Bakersfield-area constituents not to raise taxes. Sure, Tony, sure, whatever you say ...
The pressure on Rendon reflects a broader rift among California
Democrats that escalated with last year’s primary between Hillary Clinton and
Bernie Sanders. It has further intensified this summer as activists aligned
with Sanders push the party to abandon deep-pocketed donors and take a more
aggressive stance against the establishment.
"Weekend at Bernie" Sanders influence on the Democratic Party has gotten worse, not better. Can you imagine someone who preached the Gospel of Poverty living like a One-Percenter Himself? Bernie does. The Gospel of Redistribution is not good news at all, but bad news along every line. It's time to wake up young and old and tell them to reject this socialized-medicine cabal. It does not work, it never will work, and it's power of the state taken from the individual authority of individual consumers.
Kimberly Ellis, who narrowly lost her insurgent bid for Democratic
chair to longtime party insider Eric Bauman, has showed no signs of abandoning
her quest to shake up the party leadership.
Good for her. She and her supporters demanded a review of the ballots. They actually agitated for voter ID! How about that?!
The Democratic tension is “almost to be expected” for those who have
been around to see the cycles in politics, said Sherry Bebitch Jeffe, a
longtime political observer and a public policy professor at University of
Southern California.
This is the same lady that got into a verbal tussle with me. She denied that voter fraud had anything do with Darrel Issa's close election or Hillary Clinton's enormous voter edge.
“That’s what’s going on with the Republican Party in Washington and the
Democratic Party in Sacramento,” Jeffe said.
A few differences ... Donald Trump has overrun the crony-Big Business-Big Labor phalanx which has attacked working Americans and stacked the legislative deck in their own favor.
Protracted internal conflict could fatigue party activists and depress
fundraising, both of which could make it harder for Democrats running in close
legislative or congressional races, Jeffe said. But it won’t give Republicans
an opening to win statewide.
I wonder about that. Perhaps Republicans should not strive for any openings at this time. After all, haven't we been through enough? It might be more worth our while to sit back and watch "The Democracy" fall apart than try to fight the imploding, regressive self-destruction.
Final Reflection
At this time, I am not sure what we can do about the Democrat v. Democrat rivalry. Bebitch Jeffe is clearly liberal, but I don't know how to confront the argument that Republicans can't make much out of the growing divide eating away at the Democratic Party.
It's getting worse for Republicans, too. All of us took over the district office of an Assemblyman who voted for the abortive Cap and Trade legislation. California Republican leaders are not taking any kind of lead or leadership to denounce Cheating Chad Mayes and the other Republicans who stabbed all of us in the back.
Let's hope that grassroots Republicans, all 25% of us, will decide to do something--anything!
