I am David R Hamman, and I am running for the State Chair position of the Hawaii Republican Party on May 11, 2019.
I have lived in Hawaii 30 years.
As well, I have been around the HRP for quite a number of years. I know the issues and the players.
The following is the essence of why I am running.
We have a responsibility to take a stand for righteousness in our society.
The political and governmental arena in this state has been an overwhelming pathetic display of the absence of Divine conscience and righteousness for decades.
We have lived in a state overwhelmingly controlled by one party for decades.
That party has encouraged out of control spending [actually bankrupting the state with $25 Billion in unfunded liabilities - state workers will end up retiring only to find there is no money to pay them], providing no sensible solutions for the homeless, providing no sensible solutions for housing for the working class, over bearing individuals and businesses with the highest tax burden in the country - including on food and medicine.
To say the least, these positions and results do not align with a Divine righteous viewpoint of economics.
As well, let us observe the positions, environment, and overall tone this controlling party has set and enacted into law regarding specific behavior relating to individuals and family.
We see a welfare system that generously supports sex out of marriage and children being born out of marriage - including for those who actively engage in serious patterns of irresponsible behavior and drug use. In fact the welfare system in Hawaii is more generous to those who are not married than to those who are.
We watched this state go from violating Divine principles of sexual behavior and the Divine principles of marriage and family by observing this state go to formal civil unions [which only allowed the same civil rights that existed on the books already] to same sex marriages and the glorification of such behavior in the public arena - an open out right act of defiance against God and His design.
Following that, we observed the acceleration of homosexual, transgender, multi-gender indoctrination [all doctrines that conflict with our Creator and His design] of the weakest and most potentially vulnerable of our society, our children. They began being inundated with curriculum and material attempting to influence them with the idea that unrighteous behavior is acceptable, and to take it to an extreme, actually righteous - a grand perversion. Yes, they had the audacity to call it "Pono" Choices. If that isn't the epitome of out right deceit, perversion, and evil, I don't know what is.
Kindergartners have been confronted and forced to deal with questions and issues like which gender they identify with [potentially other than what they were physically born], which gender bathroom they would prefer to use, why does so and so have two mommies or two daddies, and why is it better that way? This is the type of intense indoctrination the children endure in the public school system in Hawaii.
This last legislative session we watched as the obviously out of control Honolulu Rail project advanced with no real accountability. A project that has screamed out the appearance of out right theft, political corruption, and graft with an estimated expenditure of $1 billion per mile - absolute insanity - I used to be involved in heavy construction and was the project manager a short time in CA for the construction of bridges. If you research the average cost of one mile of bridge, you will find Caltrans estimates $30 million. If you estimate every bell and whistle into that bridge, you are potentially at $60 million per mile. Okay, let's just throw in an extra $40 million for Hawaiian waste. You would be at an excessive $100 million per one mile of bridge. The Honolulu authority is telling us they spent 10 times that amount per mile, and they cannot tell us where the money went. They have constructed 11 miles of such rail at this outrageously [you would have to get insanely creative to spend that amount of money per mile] purported expense and have been approved by the legislature to continue at the same rate with no accountability, no defined deadline, and no defined final cost.
They have indebted the entire state taking whatever limited valuable resources once existed for outer islands, have indebted our grandchildren’s grandchildren for decades to come, and are now attempting to create new taxes to cover up for the $ Billions they have pocketed.
Beyond that, we have seen the assisted suicide bill pass the legislature. Here we have a major conflict with God - [assisted murder?]. First of all, I think there is a major moral issue based upon God's text in the act of suicide. It violates numerous Divine principles. But now, on top of that the legislature supposedly legally empowered doctors [who ironically took a Hippocratic oath] to now assist in taking a life. We are headed into pure evil. [I can empathize with pain but not with violation of Divine law.] How do we know Johnny and Mary don't want to receive their inheritance early? We have entered into the realm of major sin and the Pandora’s box effect of multiplied varieties of sin that exponentially accelerate off a faulty premise.
As well, we had the gender-counseling bill that basically forbids counselors from counseling gender-disturbed children to stabilize them in the gender they were born. Thus no parent would be allowed to receive the assistance from a counselor to assist in such counseling.
But the bill does allow the counselor to provide sex change counseling - [outrageous].
Not only is this a perverted attempt to indoctrinate and thrust an anti-God agenda on us, this is an absolute violation of our first amendment rights to freedom of speech as well as to freedom of religion and the basic principle that a parent maintains the sovereign guardianship rights of decisions to the health and well being of his or her child.
So, to every person cares about righteousness in the state of Hawaii, where were you? And where are you?
Where was and where is your voice?
We know the party that promotes and caters to this type of evil. We know the party that supports failed liberal policies.
It is obviously the Democrat party.
In the midst of all this evil, there has been the bewildering eerie silence.
The HRP under Shirlene Ostrov as chair has failed miserably to provide us a voice relating to the matters in the public arena that we care about and that affect us, our family, our friends, and our neighbors on a daily basis.
When you look at all the major issues addressed this last session, there was no clear message of opposition to this unrighteous insanity being expressed on TV, Radio, Newspaper, or social media to the voting public.
The Hawaii Republican Party under Shirlene Ostrov has become an indifferent silent entity failing to put out a strong message to the general voting public.
The HRP under Shirlene Ostrov is plagued with duplicity and internal corruption, as well as a lack of resources, personnel, a lack of a functioning teleconference system, and numerous other logistical deficiencies.
I aim to change that. I aim to create an effective political action organization that goes after failed liberal policies and turns this state around to what is in the best interests for those who live here [rather than to exist as a “party” characterized as a social club.

Politics is serious business and requires political parties and campaigns to follow strict laws and regulations. Shirlene Ostrov and her cronies (both old and new) know this. Federal and state laws on campaign finance are crystal clear. All income by parties and other campaign committees must be reported. And all expenses must be reported, even if paid for by others. There are also clear limits to how much individuals can donate, even if trying to illegally circumvent these limits by laundering funds through Shirlene’s hands at HRP. And even bills which haven’t been paid must be reported. Total transparency is the name of the game and the price of admission. Unfortunately, Shirlene Ostrov’s Gang is as crooked as they come and they will take down our party for years to come.
Judge for yourself and listen to the damning audio above which launched a federal, multi-agency investigation which has revealed a mountain of documents, banking records, secret e-mails, travel records, deleted social media posts, secret contracts and much more -- much of which Ostrov tried to shred at GOP state party headquarters. All of this will lead to the Hawaii GOP’s further demise at the hands of Ostrov and her allies Tupola and Ward. You need to know that in all these months, state party leaders have refused to amend these reports . . . fraudulent reports which Ostrov’s new treasurer candidate Marilyn Moniz will inherit joint legal responsibility for.
THINK ABOUT IT: When justice comes, would it be better for HRP to be in trouble because of the newly re-elected state chair or because of a former state chair who was cut loose? Yes, think about that. Because a vote for Ostrov and her RINO slate of corruption-lovers actually makes you complicit in supporting the same corruption which will inevitably lead to fines and possible criminal prosecution. Why would Hawaii Republicans knowingly embrace a cabal which might soon have to spend your donations to the state party to pay fines and possibly even toward a legal defense fund of the Ostrov-Tupola-Ward officer cabal?
By now, every single one of Ostrov's running mates for party office know about her corruption and the ongoing criminal investigations. In fact, they seem perfectly content that Ostrov is shredding documents while the Hawaii GOP is being investigated for money laundering, wire fraud, false reporting, and other crimes. Ostrov's new treasurer candidate Marilyn Moniz doesn’t seem to care about getting involved with ongoing conspiracies to break laws. Al Frenzel doesn’t care. Jane Tatibouet doesn’t care. Ray L’Heureux doesn’t care. Steve Lipscomb doesn’t care. ‘Pastor’ Rojo Herreradoesn’t care. Miriam Hellreich doesn’t care. Rapist Demont Conner doesn’t care. Andria Tupola doesn’t care. Gene Ward staffer Kaeo Kealoha-Lindseydoesn’t care. And Gene Ward himself DEFINITELY does not care.
While state GOP leaders Shirlene Ostrov, Mark Blackburn, Andria Tupola, Al Frenzel, Bob McDermott and Gene Ward work to actively prevent the state Republican Party from organizing voters and taxpayers against horrible Democrat legislation sailing through the State Capitol, the Hawaii State Legislature is now pushing through

Unlike Republican Party organizations anywhere else in the country which lead fights against massive big government schemes, fake Hawaii Republicans like Gene Ward are perfectly content to limit any token resistance to making a ‘floor speech’ that nobody hears or a letter to the editor that nobody reads. Abusing his position as national committeeman, Ward and his RINO pals in the leadership of the Hawaii GOP actually believe their mission as party officers is to prevent our state party from EVER leading a fight to help communities from Hilo to Hanalei rise up against these self-dealing Democrat schemes which have caused the cost of living to explode in order to enrich the political class. No fighting higher taxes. No fighting wasteful spending. No fighting special interest legislation which costs everybody to enrich a few. No fighting the assault on the family. No fighting the conditions which have led to massive numbers of Hawaii residents packing up and leaving. In fact, no fighting at all. Ward, Ostrov, Blackburn, Tupola and the rest have KILLED AND DISMEMBERED AND INCINERATED the Hawaii Republican Party. Not even DNA testing can identify the remains. RINO’s and Democrats have never been happier about the lack of opposition to the liberal agenda.
QUESTION: Do island Republicans (REAL Republicans) really want to see their party sit back and let Democrats destroy the FUTURE OF HAWAII by engineering the march toward socialism with 80% of people living in government housing built next to 34-miles of overpriced train stations while the middle class and working class are systematically driven away from our shores thanks to an array of already-failed Democrat policies?
HIRA’s answer is “OF COURSE NOT”. When you think about how badly politicians and bureaucrats in Hawaii have managed public housing projects in recent decades (not to mention mismanagement of TheTrain and everything else), you’d think that the Hawaii GOP would at least try to remind voters and taxpayers that letting Democrats multiply that mismanagement many times over through building commieblocks is the very definition of insanity. But, alas, you won’t hear from Gene Ward’s make-believe Republican Party because he and Ostrov and Blackburn and McDermott and Fevella and Tupola are a bunch of phony-baloneys who are perfectly happy to enjoy their 15 minutes of fame while Rome burns all around them.
The inaction of the state party and the voting records of elected Republicans PROVE this horrifying assertion. If not true, then think about last year’s push for a State Property Tax or this year’s push for another GET increase or 2017’s push for a Rail Tax Extension. Did big-ego Gene “I’m a statesman” Ward allow Shirlene Ostrov and Miriam Hellreich and other party leaders to organize opposition to these harmful measures??? No, of course not. That’s because Republicans in Hawaii (i.e. YOU) have been sold out by their own party leaders . . . the same party leaders who have also bankrupted the Hawaii GOP (forcing Ostrov to BEG the Oahu League of RINO Women for a nearly $10,000 handout just to keep the party from closing two weeks ago) and whom are scrambling to retain and expand their RINO control of our dead party at 725 Kapiolani Blvd so they can prevent our party and its message and its reforms and its solutions from ever being advocated for decades to come.
We’ve already heard back from Ostrov’s state party deputy Steve Lipscomb -- a RINO moron, apologist, enabler, and shameless RINO brownoser who nobody has ever heard of and who has no future in Republican politics. He calls HIRA's factual and 100% proven allegations "misleading, partial-truth, hate-filled, often-times vile emails, social media posts, etc that come from HIRA.”
We’ve heard back from RINO Andria Tupola who proved to be the worst candidate for governor in state history by losing more than any candidate in Hawaii. She wants the Hawaii GOP to spend even more time fighting HIRA and even less time fighting Democrats: “Thorough research on the destructive, non-productive, partial truth, zero plan, no real tangible actions of HIRA should be done first.” It’s believed that Tupola is trying to install fellow liberal sympathizers into party posts so the Hawaii GOP can become an official fan club for her liberal political vision and (of course) a fan club for herself.
We’ve also heard back from RINO Gene Ward who wants party members to stop looking at the liberal voting records of Ward, Thielen, McDermott et al, just as Ward wants party members to ignore the fact that he and Ostrov and Tupola have strangled the life out of the Hawaii GOP: “Let not your heart be troubled by the political terrorist organization called HIRA (and on the Democrats’ payroll to terrorize Republicans.” We are sending Demented Gene yet another tinfoil hat as a sign of our appreciation for his conspiratorial fantasies. He can wear this tinfoil hat over his pink pussy hat from the Women's March. Gene knows better than most that if anyone is on the payroll of the Democrats, it would be Gene Ward and the majority of officers of the Hawaii GOP who sit back and allow Democrats to win 24/7/365, even though 100% of the issues are on the side of Republicans. If we only bothered to try and make a compelling case for saving Hawaii from failed Democrat policies, we’d start winning instead of throwing candidates to the wolves every two years. But, honestly, that won’t happen until 90% of party leaders are tossed out. That’s a sorry fact. The Hawaii GOP has been infiltrated by closet Democrats led by Gene Ward. And soon, if Marxists Ward and Chang get their way, we’ll all live in government housing. Auwe!
