In Letter to Younger Self, Gay Activist Reveals Origins of Same-Sex Desires

In a previous post, I exposed Singaporean Otto Fong, an LGBT activist who played himself up as a victim when he "came out" to the public in 2007. He insisted that he was not a pervert, not a sexual deviant.

However, his subsequent behaviors and statements following his admission that he was engaging in homosexual acts proved otherwise. On his current Facebook profile, he refers frequently to his masturbation habits. He also makes sexually explicit, inappropriate jokes, and he even makes light of other sexual perversions, like bestiality. It's worth pointing out that Fong had served as a teacher for some years, and to this day he writes books for children.

His private perversions have been manifested for the public to know, however, showing that he lacks judgment, and certainly does not carry the bearing or propriety to be around children.

Today, I wanted to look further, peering into the origins of his homosexual attractions. A few years ago, the tenth year anniversary of his "coming out" letter, Fong would write his 15-year-old self another letter, which was later published on the Singaporean pro-LGBT blog "Dear Straight People."

Dear 15-year-old self,

You’re the son of an Operation Coldstore veteran. Because of that you are growing up alone, travelling 3 hours daily, and returning to an empty home instead of going out with your best friends. Bet you don’t know that’s why “Luke, I am your father” struck such a deep chord with you, huh?

And there it is: the reason why Otto has homosexual issues.

He has father issues.

First, a little background about Operation Coldstore. This operation took place in the early 1960s, planned by Singapore's Founder Lee Kwan Yew, and with the help of British and Malaysian forces. In this stealth operation, LKY and fellow allies arrested 113 Communist sympathizers in order to prevent them from subverting the nascent country--which had only recently been expelled from the Malaysian Confederation. Anti-communist sentiment was high among Westerners and pro-Western elements in Southeast Asia, and they wanted to take every action possible to stop the spread of Communism.

Perhaps this military event meant that Otto's father lived in fear of his life. Perhaps because of his service in stopping bad political actors in Singapore, Otto's father constantly worried about the safety of his children. Whatever may have resulted, we know that Otto grew up without a loving father to be there for him, and without friends to help develop into a healthy male.

Dr. Thio Li-Ann, a former of member of Parliament and currently a law professor at the National University of Singapore talked about the absense of fathers as a cause for homosexual tendencies among adults. From her stunning, effective speech defending 377a (the statute which criminalizes homosexual acts in Singapore), Li-Ann stated:

Homosexuality is a gender identity disorder; there are numerous examples of former homosexuals successfully dealing with this. Just this year, two high profile US activists left the homosexual lifestyle, the publisher of Venus, a lesbian magazine, and an editor of Young Gay America. Their stories are available on the net. An article by an ex-gay in the New Statesmen this July identified the roots of his emotional hurts, like a distant father, overbearing mother and sexual abuse by a family friend; after working through his pain, his unwanted same-sex attractions left. While difficult, change is possible and a compassionate society would help those wanting to fulfill their heterosexual potential. There is hope.

Indeed, the absense of a loving, caring father hurts children all the time. At this time, we don't know if Otto's mother was overbearing and difficult, but anything is possible.

However, we can't get away from the father-son theme that stood out for him in that iconic scene from "The Empire Strikes Back."

Fong's letter to his 15-year-old self continues:

Yes, you also have a ‘shameful’ secret — you like guys, and feel like there’s something wrong with you. You hide it by being a good student and son, and plan to burn those childhood comic books and kung-fu novels you drew and wrote because you think some of it revealed your sexuality. First piece of advice: keep those books safe! They are awesome! And face it, you love that you love men.

The truth is that Otto's secret is shameful, only in that such behaviors are harmful, causing mental and psychological as well as physical damage. Sadly, there was no one he could turn to for help. This is a serious problem, since young people do need answers. "Why am I feeling this way?" is an understandable question. Most churches, most parents, and most school staffers don't have a ready answer for the reasons behind same-sex desirous feelings. I would further submit that perhaps Otto's first fascination with other males had nothing to do with sex, but an earnest, healthy need for male connection. That is not something to be ashamed of. However, if that need for father-son, and friend-friend bonding does not get taken care of, inevitably those individuals will long for sexual relationships with the same sex.

It’s tricky living with two of the most sensitive issues in Singapore, politics and sexuality. A third sensitive issue is religion. While you remain non-religious, some around you are. Learn to see that there are good people in religions. The bad ones will constantly try to lure you to the Dark Side using hate, like the Emperor in Return of the Jedi. The good ones will become some of your greatest allies.

Not only was there a distant father, but he has an even more distant relationship with The Father. His sexual preferences were distorted because there was no father around to show him the ropes of growing up. Then there is the fraught political matters in Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia. 

And on top of that, he has no heart for spiritual things. What a shame.

You read a lot of sci-fi novels because they take you away from this reality. You think you should study the Arts. Society will channel you into the Sciences. You may KPKB but remember: Leonardo Da Vinci was both an artist and a scientist. Eventually you’ll do both!

I have noticed this tendency toward fantasy and immaturity among many active homosexuals. Roy Tan, the so-called "LGBT Historian of Singapore", also immerses himself in science fiction and fantasy. All of these pursuits serve as mere comfort measures, distractions to get away from deeper pain.

You are good enough, and your family loves you. With time, things will turn out for the better — I don’t want to give you spoilers, but the ‘horrible’ things turn out incredible later.

What "horrible" things was Otto attempting to prepare his younger self for? Indeed!

Final Reflection

The need for love is so important, and this love must be more than sexual impulse or physical intimacy.

The father's love means a great deal, especially for boys. This love makes it possible for a male to identify with the male who brought him into this world, and who has the best opportunity to bring him up, as well. Otto didn't have that kind of love, and today he struggles with all kinds of sexual dysfunction and deviance as a result.

There is hope, however. While Otto writes about one Luke, aka Skywalker, there is another Luke he needs to look into, i.e. the Gospel of Luke. There, he would learn about the lavish, unrelenting love of The Father, Father God who gave His Son for us, who takes away all our shame, who gives us His Life, Himself, and restores us to a greater standing.

In The Parable of the Loving Father (Luke 15: 11-32), Jesus the true heart of His Heavenly Father, and thus for those who believe in Jesus .. OUR Heavenly Father (cf John 20:17):

The understanding of God the Father's love for us does not come naturally. It takes the Holy Spirit, by whom the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5). However, once we believe that Jesus has done a perfect work putting away all our sins and granting His Life, we can then grow in grace, and ask God to reveal to us how much He loves us!

It's worth noting that today, men and women in the Body of Christ as well as in other professional settings can help diagnose why individuals become attracted to the same sex. Knowing the reasons why helps dispel all shame and guilt, and then sets these individuals free. If there is any lust, any longing which is harmful and destructive, it all comes back to one simple reason:

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)

Targeting young children: These bizarre transgender "story times" are actually being held at public libraries across America.

As Americans celebrate our Independence Day holiday by going on our picnics, ball games and beach outings, too many of us tend to forget what July 4th is really all about. Back in 1776, a group of colonists had had enough of being oppressed, and decided to take on the greatest military power in the world.

It seemed like a hopeless venture (sort of like conservatives view things today). But against all odds they won and drove the British out of North America.

Last week, MassResistance writer Amy Contrada wrote this powerful article that was published in the American Thinker. It encapsulates perfectly the attitude we need to be taking. We’re re-printing it here in case you missed it!

Opposing the Transgender Movement

The transgender war on cultural norms is not just about restrooms and pronouns. It's about denying biological fact and quotidian reality. It's about an epidemic of irrationality, a cultural contagion, a mass delusion claiming more victims every day. It's about silencing free thinkers who refuse to bow to the radical "gender" ideology.

Absurd theories that deny scientific fact have been adopted by the mainstream press, the entertainment industry, the medical establishment, public schools, universities, corporate management, and government agencies. People who fear social isolation and charges of bigotry are following along.

How do those of us still grounded in reality fight this insanity? Not with misguided "compassion" or compromise, but with straight talk and tough love. Let's not waste our time analyzing or answering absurd gender theories with logical rebuttals. Those ideas don't deserve that respect. And the useful idiots who swallow the trans lies – whether as promoters, allies, or victims – will not listen to reason or science.

Oppose trans activism

Refuse to go along with trans madness that declares:

• "Sex is assigned at birth" by doctors.
• Gender identity is inborn.
• A three-year-old can know he's "trapped in the wrong body."
• Some girls have penises; some boys have vaginas.
• Blocking puberty in pre-adolescent children is sound medical practice.
• A man can gestate and birth a baby.
• Gender stereotypes are bad (unless you adopt one as your "authentic" trans identity).
• A person's choice of new name and pronouns must be respected.
• A person determines his appropriate restroom, locker room, sports team, etc.
• "Transgender" persons' feelings take precedence over everyone else's.

Recognize only biological sex classifications: male and female.

Avoid using the politically loaded word "gender."

Point out that there is no biological basis for transgenderism. Someone cannot be "trapped in the wrong body." We're all in the bodies we were meant to be in.

Trust medical professional associations that oppose this anti-science ideology. (See here, here, here, here, and here.)

Disseminate reliable research and commentary. (See here, here, here, here, here, and here.)

Do not affirm a person's self-identification as transgender (or genderqueer, non-binary, gender non-conforming, neutrois, agender, two-spirit, etc.). Affirmation normalizes this mental disorder. True respect comes from recognizing a trans-identified person's authentic, not costumed, humanity.

This man, who claims to be a woman, ran for Parliament in British Columbia. When pro-family activist Bill Whatcott passed out flyers in the district stating that he was a male (which is true) Bill was charged by a "human rights tribunal" with "hate speech" -- and faces heavy fines and other punishment. Is this where America is headed?

Emphasize that people who identify as transgender need psychological counseling to escape their delusion.

Show true compassion by encouraging trans-identifying persons to accept their natural bodies. Help them avoid a lifetime of medical interventions (cross-sex hormones, surgeries, cosmetic procedures, counseling), infertility, stress-inducing efforts to "pass" as the opposite sex, and suicidal thinking and attempts.

Explain that there is no such thing as a transgender child. There are children who are confused, emotionally neglected, even abused. Parents who affirm trans identities in children are themselves confused or needy, vulnerable to social pressures, or willfully misguided by health care professionals.

Speak out against the ghoulish medical procedures being inflicted on children, including puberty-blockers. To prevent puberty in a healthy young body is medical malpractice. Halting the development of a child's sexual organs, then adding cross-sex hormones, will guarantee sterility. That is a violation of a child's human rights."Gender" clinics for children should be shut down.

Oppose laws or policies granting special rights to trans-identifying persons. They already have all the rights they need as males and females. Non-discrimination policies protecting ill defined "gender identity" are superfluous.

Demand that single-sex public restrooms and locker rooms allow only males or females. Attempts at compromise (e.g., single-stall restrooms for trans-identifying persons) effectively concede that trans identities are legitimate. In any case, such compromise measures will be opposed as "discriminatory."

Refuse to play trans language games, whether it's using their new words("cisgender"), using their silly pronouns (ze, zir, zirs), or saying "they" or "he" when it's really "she."

Monitor and challenge trans-affirming policies in your local schools.

Schools are under "gender" assault – but there's new hope

What's happening in the schools is especially important. Gender-identity non-discrimination laws or policies applied to schools are intended to disrupt and radically transform all of society, not just support "trans children" in school. If children attend a school where boys can be girls and vice versa, many of these future adults will have been effectively brainwashed.

Warping a child's young mind. Yes, this is happening in schools!

The Obama administration attempted to force public schools to enforce "gender" ideology across the board (not just in restrooms and locker rooms; see here and here). The Trump administration backed off from enforcing those regulations. But while the tables may be turning at the federal level, this is not true in many locales.

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has devised guidelines that may help restore sanity in schools. ADF explains that there is no federal law or regulationrequiring schools to make allowances for trans-identifying students in restrooms and locker rooms.

ADF's "Student Physical Privacy Policy" for school private facilities is online here.The document commendably uses only the word "sex"; there's no recognition of "transgender boys" (females) or "transgender girls" (males).

The Obama administration threatened schools with loss of federal funds if they didn't implement radical trans-affirming policies. But now ADF warns: "Granting students access to opposite-sex changing areas could subject schools to tort liability for violating students' and parents' rights." This could mean legal challenges even in states with laws mandating transgender-affirming school policies.

(Let the ACLU bring its "discrimination" lawsuits against schools that refuse to kowtow to transgender demands! With more conservatives being appointed to our federal courts, there is some hope we can bring an end to supporting trans-identifying children who upend the entire school environment.)

Let's hope ADF's clarification doesn't stop with restrooms and locker rooms, but eventually expands to include resistance to other trans-affirming policies in the schools.

After all, rightly understood, a child's trans identification is a family issue. Parents should deal with their children's mental health problems privately, outside of school. It is unfair to drag the whole community into a family's distress. Communities need more outside support for that commonsense approach.

Speak out!

Don't try to convince brainwashed trans allies to reject trans insanity. But do embolden people who know in their hearts and minds that trans ideology is utterly false and destructive. They will resist if they see others doing so.

What's really at stake is thought control. Government and institutions are forcing people to deny reality and accept a destructive, nonsensical ideology – accustoming us to obey the most idiotic directives. If people can accept as fact that "some boys have vaginas and some girls have penises," they'll roll over for anything.

This article was quite well received by the American Thinker audience. It seemed to hit a nerve. Maybe that’s because so many “conservatives” and mainstream “pro-family” people are caving in to the intimidation from the Left and compromising on this issue.

That boy has been on antidepressants since he was a very young child, and somehow we are suppose to believe that cutting off his penis will make him a healthy human being? Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person that thinks this transsexual stuff is pure malarkey promoted by the mentally ill and sometimes very evil liberals with bad intent. It's good to see posters here that share these beliefs.

I worked in the medical field for years. I was in a field were I had to work with a lot of transgenders during their 'transition.' A lot had a family member or a friend along, and every one of them were mentality unstable also. I cannot think of one normal personality I came across that was associated with a trans. including their psychiatrist. They had to be cleared before we could do surgery and reading what these so called doctors wrote would blow you away. 95% were sexually abused as children and had mental illness stemming from it that grew worst than most. Instead of treating them (much more work), the doctors gave into the gender DYSMORPHIA.

We hope you all enjoy the Fourth.

Deep Blue Oregon: Worse Than California?

The State of Oregon the Beaver State, the Oregon Trail, the rough-hewn pioneer West Coast which made this country greats, has turned into razorblade snowflake territory.

This is just untenable. I cannot believe how depressingly blue Oregon has become.

Everything East of the I-5 corridor is nothing but red state wonderland. Greg Walden is the Congressman for a wide, diverse, lively region. But three cities run the state: Eugene, Portland, and Salem. It's terrible.

Why should three cities along the coast tilt the entire state? But that is what is happening.

My father lives close to the 1-5 corridor, and the city where he lives is getting bigger and more built out every day. Like him, more people are leaving California for low cost, no sales tax Oregon.

One has to wonder how long the low-cost culture will last.

Oregon is not doing as well as it could. The state has had a deeper descent into Democratic power, and the state is worse for wear on account of it. Election 2014 was a wipeout for Democrats as Republicans picked up seats all over the country, including California, particularly my own Assembly district as well as a seat in the East Bay region near Alameda County. But in Oregon, Republicans actually lost seats. Incredible but true, especially when in 2010 the Oregon state legislature ended up at an 50-50 split, which required co-chairmen for all committees. One consultant/staffer in the region told me that this kind of forced bipartisanship created one of the most effective sessions in Oregon's history.

Those days are long gone.

During Thanksgiving 2016, I visited Oregon to celebrate with my family. We drove to the state capital to see the sights for a little while. Earlier that day,  a state police officer pulled my Dad over because he had made a U-turn. What's wrong a U-turn? In Salem, drivers can make the turn only if there is a sign that informs drivers they may do so. What? Such legal illogic is destructive, undermining the rule of law in our communities. Since when do we wait for signs to tell us that we may do something? The Common Law tradition promotes signage in order for citizens NOT to do something!

And it gets crazier.

When I visited the state legislature earlier this year, I was followed by state police because I was taking pictures with my hat. For some reason, I am not allowed to use my Trump banner or my hat to take pictures. At one point, I confronted one of the officers on duty and asked for his badge number. Such behavior is unseemly.

I am certain that the police officer didn't expect a citizen to speak up and push back at an officer.

There's more.

Salem passed laws to allow children as young as 15 years old to get sex-change operations without the parents' approval. I learned about this from a conservative general assemblyman, Andy Olsen of Albany Oregon. During one legislative session, I was listening to the state House determine how much to limit permitting individual cities and county jurisdictions to pass their own right-to-work statutes. Unbelievable.

It's so bad, that even Republicans are as a part of the problem. A Republican submitted gun control legislation in Oregon! Breitbart reports:

Oregon lawmakers passed legislation co-sponsored by Sen. Brian Boquist (R-Dallas) that allows a judge to issue an ex parte ruling for the confiscation of an individual’s firearms.

The bill is SB 719, and it has now passed Oregon’s House and Senate. It creates an Extreme Risk Protection Order, which forces the subject of the order to hand over all firearms, as well as his concealed carry permit if he possesses one.

Again, a Republican, a member of a party which is supposed to defend Second Amendment rights, introduced this bill, not just voted for it! Terrifying!

Now let's talk about Governor Kate Brown.  Before Kate Brown, let's talk about the disgraced previous governor John Kitzhaber, who was forced to resign following a long spate of scandals. Even though his wife (#2? #3?) was a mail order bride to help an immigrant get his papers, too, Kitzhaber was re-elected in 2014. Unbelievable.

So, Kate Brown the Secretary of State became the second Brown on the West Coast to become a governor. Her first claim to fame? She advertises herself as the first openly bisexual governor in United States history.. In other words, she likes to sleep around, a distinction not to be proud of.  She  signed a bill which forces insurance companies to pay for abortions. Taxpayers will also have to provide abortions to illegal aliens, too. The governor also signed off on an automatic voter-motor law, just like in California, which will enable voter fraud on a massive scale. Add to that the fact that Oregon residents no longer vote at polling stations. They either mail in their ballot or drop it off. Can you say "voter fraud"?

And she just instituted a policy by order and signature that has turned Oregon into a sanctuary state for illegal aliens.

Sometimes I chide my father for moving to Oregon, in part because he wanted to flee the liberal insanity infecting California. In a way, California feels like a purple state compared to the overwhelming progressive perversity overtaking Oregon. I rib my father sometimes, saying "You should have stayed in California!"

There is hope, though  Election 2014 was a disaster for Oregon Republicans. But a statewide initiative  to allow illegal aliens to have driver's licenses failed by a 2-to-1 margin. Even though Bi-Sexual Kate has signed off on sanctuary state, three lawmakers (including Hispanic Sal Esquivel of Medford) are launching an initiative to overturn this abject lawlessness.

And they are targeting Kate Brown for recall!

There is hope for the Beaver State, the Duck State, the State which gave Lewis and Clark increased prominence. Let's hope this populist revolt will lead to a constitutional resurgence in respect of limited government and individual liberty, too!
