Southern California News Group Endorses John Cox for Governor

Hell has frozen over.

The Southern California Newsgroup has announced their endorsement for Governor of California.

They are endorsing John Cox!

This is huge!

Find out what they support Cox over Gas Tax Gavin!

PUBLISHED: September 23, 2018 at 9:00 am | UPDATED: September 23, 2018 at 9:00 am
Although California’s economy has pockets of strength, the state is also home to the nation’s highest poverty rate, when the cost of living is taken into account. The growing inequality and the affordability issues that are driving so many middle-income families out of the state are serious concerns and should be the centerpiece of the debate in the governor’s race.

Yes. Make California Affordable Again!

We believe the state would be best served by the election of John Cox as the next governor of California.

Yes, it would. Someone who is not part of the California State Political Swamp!

Cox, a successful businessman who lives in the San Diego area, offers a balanced, non-ideological approach, favoring lower taxes and reform of overreaching government regulations, along with support for the state’s clean-energy goals and environmental protection.

Yes, without breaking the bank or pushing us onto the street.

Two of the state’s most pressing problems — the crisis in housing affordability and the state’s neglected infrastructure — are caused, Cox argues, by flawed government decisions and policies. The cost of building a house or fixing a mile of road is far higher in California than in other states because of accumulated rules, fees and taxes that have themselves become a greater problem than whatever problem they were originally intended to address.

It is time for a change.

Yes, we need a change, a change away from the Democratic Party! The Demon-Rat party has ruined California for countless millions, men and women who just want to live their lives and place a posterity for their children and grand-children.

Gavin Newsom is a thoughtful leader who cares about the future of California, but as a longtime officeholder he has deep connections to many of the interest groups and politicians that have been part of the problem. That’s evident from Newsom’s careful two-step on both sides of major issues.

Yes. Gruesome Newsom is a hideous liar and philanderer. He never met another man's wife without making perverse moves on him. It is beyond shameful what he has done in private as well as in public. He has neither respect nor regard for the rule of law or the rights of citizens to make wise decisions for the citizenry. San Francisco has turned into a complete sh*thole, with homeless transients fighting each other, graffiti and trash all over the streets, and lawless thugs attack innocent passers-by. The business climate is beyond abysmal, and the housing costs are unreal.

No decent working person can afford to live in San Francisco, or anywhere in the Bay Are vicinity. It's unreal!

And now Gavin Newsom wants to ruin the entire state of California, too?

For example, during a debate in May, Newsom stated his position on high-speed rail as: “I’ve long supported the vision, but I’ve been honest about the financing.” He expressed a similar ambiguity on single-payer health care, Senate Bill 562, telling supporters “it’s time to move” the legislation while acknowledging to reporters that the details of how to pay for the proposal remain unresolved.

Gavin Newsom has no integrity, no ideas, no interest in doing what is best for the state of California. He only cares about his vapid political ambitions. Nothing more. He is a selfish progressive troll more interested in scoring points and other men's wives.

Please, California, we can do better than Cox!

That yes-and-no approach may encourage interest groups to write checks to the Newsom campaign in the hope that the wind will shift in their direction. But it leaves voters with no idea what the policies of his administration would be, or how much they will cost.

Actually, we can know what the cost will be. Gavin Newsom promised to sign an executive order which would give taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal aliens. He said that. He doesn't just want single-payer, he wants to hand out all the goodies to illegal aliens, full-on lawbreakers who are destroying our state and want to destroy the country.

This man is a thoughtless, lawless thug who has no business serving in any public capacity.

A government dominated by one party lacks the necessary checks and balances to ensure that policies are fully vetted before they become law. In California, that has too often led to reckless increases in spending, especially on pensions for government workers, creating endless pressure for tax increases at both the state and local level.

We need Republicans, real Republicans in Sacramento. No RINOs, no hacks, no "hell-no" politicos out for themselves and looking at some easy sinecure on a County Board of Supervisors when they leave Sacramento.

We need representatives who will care for the needs, the concerns of American citizens.

For perspective, in the time since Newsom was elected lieutenant governor, from 2011-12 to the current fiscal year, state general fund spending has ballooned over 61 percent from $86 billion to nearly $139 billion.

We spend too much money. Thank you, Demo-rats. We need more than balance, however. We need restoration of the rule of law, of natural rights, of individual liberty along with checks and balances in the better interests of the citizens, not illegal aliens, not special interests, not corrupt union bosses.

California needs steady economic growth and high-wage jobs to bring in the revenue required to pay its bills and build its future. That can’t be achieved with unsustainable government spending and even higher taxes. It certainly can’t be achieved if businesses are driven into the ground or out of the state by over-regulation, increased costs and uncertainty about future policies.

I wish that the local and statewide press would spend more time focusing on the unprecedented assault on our rights. I wish that elected officials would remember their oath of office to the United States Constitution and the California State Constitution. When will our elected officials remember that they work for us, not the other way around?

We can make them remember. We can start holding these elected frauds accountable and make them respond to our concerns once again. No more of this barren, brazen, broken-down disregard for the rule of law. Enough is enough.

Recent polls indicate that the race for governor has tightened and both sides say turnout will be key. Infrequent voters may come out to cast ballots for Proposition 6 to repeal the gas tax increase, and that would help Cox, who chaired the effort to qualify the measure and signed the ballot argument in support of it.

Let's face it. Part of the reason why we see the press groups favoring Republicans is that they see these candidates with more than a bare chance of winning.

Newsom might be helped by a surge of progressive Democrats who are hungry to seize control of the state party from established Democratic leaders like Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

Dianne Feinstein is a disgrace like Kevin De Leon. They are both unrepentant left-wing frauds who spend money that they do not have, and they are actively undermining our lives and livelihoods as Americans. California is still very much America, folks, and we the people are actively proving these facts. The Democratic Party thought they could get away with running our state into the ground. They have brazenly defied federal law. They want us to pay for the entire world to overrun our borders. They put illegal aliens, welfare recipients, and felons ahead of law-abiding citizens and their families. All of this is wrong, and we cannot tolerate this abuse of power any longer.

All of this must cease, and everyone Californian needs to wake up and take a firm stand against all of this abuse and failure. We need to vote for John Cox, we need to Make California Great Again, and we need to ensure that the rule of law is restored, and our natural rights respected once again.

One growing group won’t be casting ballots. They’re the former California residents who will vote this year in Arizona, Nevada, Texas and other states where the cost of living in California no longer troubles them.

I refuse to leave. I will fight to the end, and we need John Cox in the Governor's mansion to help with our fight.

John Cox offers common-sense leadership that will encourage economic growth, expand housing opportunities and reverse the state’s affordability crisis. He has our endorsement for governor.

FCC Repeals Net Neutrality (AP Exposes Left-wing Bias, Again)

The Net Neutrality Rules have been repealed by the FCC.

The media will point out that party-line vote which shut down the government overreach which promised fairness, yet would have ended up creating massively more unfairness.

Big Business loves more regulations, of course, because they can hire more lawyers and purchase politicians to throw things their way.

But every individual citizen and small business owner should rejoice that the FCC repealed the net neutrality nonsense pushed by President Barack Obama and legion of progressive trolls.

Of course, the AP had to throw their uneducated bias into the mix when reporting on the decision:
When will they learn?

We are not going to be lectured to or  intimidated by a decaying, declining media. They embrace left-wing talking points and liberal agendas, and the widespread readership in this country knows full well not to trust what they have to report.

The brazen editorializing in the tweet above says it all

"Rules that guaranteed access"? As if!

Let FCC Chairman Ajit Pai explain what net neutrality would have really done, and why we should be glad that it's gone:

More Winning: California Majority Want Gas Tax Repealed

From the Desk of Carl DeMaio, who is leading a vocal and effective repeal to the Gas Tax"

Friend-

Following up from my email yesterday, I really have to stress that we only have two weeks left to reach our funding target so we can commence signature gathering Nov 27 to repeal the Gas Tax in California.

Is there anything you can do today? We are running out of time – please do what you can asap!

Here's the secure contribution link

Thanks,

–Carl

Subject: Gas Tax Repeal Wins - but one catch
Date: Monday, November 13, 2017

Friend-

Great news! The Los Angeles Times just reported a new statewide poll showing an overwhelming majority of California voters think the gas tax should be repealed!

There's just one catch: we have to collect the 500k signatures to force this issue on the ballot.  We kick off signature collection Nov 27 – just TWO WEEKS from today!

We are two-thirds the way to getting our funds we need to launch the petition drive.  Can you contribute anything today?  We really want to raise the funds *this week* because we know next week will be tough with Thanksgiving and all.

Please, please do what you can today! This poll shows what we know: If we get this on the ballot, the gas tax hike will be repealed!

All we need is the funding in place asap!  Only two weeks to go!

Sincerely,

Carl DeMaio

More Winning: Gas Tax Repeal Filed

Friend–
I want you to be the first to know: we have officially filed the statewide initiative to
repeal the car and gas tax hikes!

After weeks of working with legal experts, we have come up with a state Constitutional Amendment
that is legally bulletproof! Here’s what it does:
—It rolls back the car and gas tax hikes that were enacted by
Sacramento politicians earlier this year
—It eliminates the politicians' power to raise car and gas taxes without a vote of the people
—Our initiative will save each California driver roughly $300 annually!

Carl De Maio

Here’s what we need to do next: we must fully fund our campaign
to collect the signatures to get the initiative on the November 2018 ballot.
Our polling shows a supermajority of California voters will approve this initiative —
but first we have to get the initiative qualified and in the 2018 ballot!
We want to get started with signature gathering in the next few weeks
but need to reach our funding goal first — so please contribute whatever you can today!
Best,
Carl DeMaio
Chairman - Reform California
PS: We cannot collect signatures on the initiative until
we get clearance from the Attorney General’s office.
We expect that by November 15 and will immediately get the forms to you by then.
Here is the text of the initiative. In the meantime, please help us get ready
by helping us get to our campaign funding goal!

Another Runner! Sanctuary City Clerk Refused to Take Initiative Papers

It's official.

Not only is the Huntington Park City Council corrupt.

Not only is the Huntington Park Police Department corrupt.

Now the city clerk is completely in on this perversity.

Check out the outrageous treatment that Joseph Turner and the rest of us received:

The Huntington Park City Clerk is Donna Schwartz.

She REFUSED to take the paperwork!

Here she goes!

First the deputy said that only the City Clerk could take the paperwork

And here's Donna Schwartz!

See Donna Run!

Run, Donna, Run!

We got another runner!!

Unbelievable!

I have officially filed another complaint with the Los Angeles County Public Integrity Division for this egregious violation of state law.

The city clerk in a municipality refused to accept the paperwork for a city initiative, which she is required to do by law!

-----

Deputy DA Gilmer:

Joseph Turner of American Children First, along with Huntington Park residents Daniel Salazar and Nick Iaonnidis, wanted to file the proper filing paperwork in order to initiate a prop 218 repeal of the city's utility user's tax.

All paperwork was in order, and Turner was ready with the customary $200 filing fee.

The city clerk's deputy and the City Clerk--Donna Schwartz--refused to accept the paperwork!

It was incredible!

Here is the video of the entire encounter.

First, my own video:

youtu.be
Joseph Turner of American children First with Huntington Park residence Daniel Salazar and Nick the Greek filed official paperwork to repeal the utility user...

Here's another version of the same video, from Joseph Turner:

www.youtube.com
"Operation Defund Sanctuary Cities" is a campaign spearheaded by American Children First founder Joseph Turner. The campaign seeks to repeal utility user tax...

I have two concerns about this:

  1. A city employee paid with taxpayer dollars refused to fulfill her obligation as a city employee
  2. An unjust disruption in the filing process for initiating the repeal of the Utility Users Tax in the city of Huntington Park

Eventually, Lieutenant Alfred Martinez, #5529 received the paperwork, but only a time stamp which read "received" appeared on the copies of the initiative filings.

He did not receive any filing fee--as he informed Turner, myself, as well as Daniel Salazar and Nick Iaonnidis that there was no fee.

This behavior from the Huntington Park city clerk is unconscionable lawlessness.

Please address this issue with the city council and staff--especially City Clerk Donna Schwartz--as soon as possible.

If the LA County DA's Office is not the proper office for me to address this complaint, Deputy Gilmer, please direct me to whom I should submit this complaint.

Thank you.

Club for Growth Comes Out Against RyanCare, too!

More good news.

RyanCare is simply not good enough.

When it comes to politics, conservatives are not afraid to play hardball.

Republican leaders, however, want to do the bidding of Big Business, or just want to get by and do enough to retain the honor that comes with titles and make off with nice pay and pensions.

The RyanCare approach is all wrong. Dr. Price and Donald Trump needed to support and re-introduce the 2015 Budget Reconciliation to get rid of Obamacare's massive problems and overburdened legislation.

Now the Club for Growth is not only opposing RyanCare, but standing by the bravest bunch of conservatives who want to end this travesty in the best way possible,

Our conservative allies in Congress are under fire for standing up for our principles.  We must come to their defense!
Dear Arthur,
No doubt by now you heard about the betrayal by House Republican leaders and their allies, dropping a massive $500,000 ad buy against pro-growth conservatives in Congress.
When the American Action Network (the old Boehner PAC) attacked our allies in Congress, the Club for Growth came to their defense, with YOUR help.
Now, I'm afraid as the battle comes closer to the vote on the House floor, the House leaders and their allies are doubling down, with even more pressure.
The ads being run against our allies are filled with lies.  Leadership and special interests are all applying public, overt pressure to flip votes.
As it stands now, the votes are there to KILL RyanCare this week!
But they won't stay there unless we come to their defense again, now.
This huge ad buy from the leadership front groups was a call to action, and the Club for Growth responded.
We cannot let them have the last word and try to peel off votes in the next 48 hours. So please stand with the Club for Growth again today.
The vote is scheduled for THIS WEEK.
We must hear from you today to keep our ads running and to keep standing up and fighting alongside our allies.
Will you help us once again defend our champions standing up to Paul Ryan and his RyanCare fake repeal?

Help the Club for Growth defeat RyanCare by contributing today.
Best regards,

David McIntosh
President, Club for Growth

More good news. When will another discharge petition get issued?

Paul Ryan, shame on you. No one sent you to Congress in order to make nice with Big Special Interests.

We need Obamacare repealed, period. Start with the 2015 Budget Reconciliation bill, Congress!

Hello Congress: What Part of "Repeal" Do You Not Understand?

Legislative politics is tough. On one hand, lawmakers must cobble together a simple majority to pass legislation. As rules currently stand, legislation needs 60 votes in the United States Senate to pass.
Republicans (liberal and conservative) along with Democrats will not support the latest Obamacare replacement proposal. The American people were crystal clear about their demands.

We want a full and unrequited repeal.

Congress should submit a Repeal Everything Obamacare Act?—ROA? How about calling the legislation Destroy Obamacare Act—DOA? There’s so much fun to be had. After all, Republicans did not come to power with a Republican President just to sit back and get rolled by Democrats again, did they?

Hold on a second … The Congressional Republicans already submitted a full repeal in 2015, did they not? Well, it was pretty close … The Obamacare repeal of 2015 (The AOR Act—Almost Obamacare Repeal) still allowed adults to stay on their parents’ health care plans until they reach 26 years old. They law also forbade insurance companies from discriminating against patients with pre-existing conditions.

They could reintroduce that bill. Guess what?—The House Conservatives have done exactly that. Bravo! But even then, it’s not full repeal. Boys and girls, when you hit that magic age of 18, you are an adult. Why would you want to stay stuck on Mommy’s plan? Besides, that increased burden on insurance companies is part of healthcare’s rising costs.

As for pre-existing conditions … cancer, diabetes, and asthma are on the rise. Why? People are living longer—good thing. People are not living healthier—bad thing. How about incentives for preventative care? Type II diabetes is yours and my fault, not a pre-existing condition based on genetics. Senator Paul’s wants repeal of government regulations to allow co-ops among individual, which would pool risk and costs—I like that.

Again, the magic word is “repeal”—get rid of rules, regulations, laws and liabilities.

Let’s treat health insurance like car insurance—if you have to have it at all. Yes, this is an oft-repeated plea. How about creating cut out drivers’ licenses but with a Caduceus on the cover? I drive reasonably well in traffic hell-hole Los Angeles County. Every year I avoid an accident, I pay a lower premium. How cool is that? Imagine young men and women who choose to care for themselves—eat right, exercise appropriately, and give up high-risk behaviors—and then guess what? Their health care premiums decrease!

But no … House Speaker Paul Ryan has rolled out a plan to “replace” (fix, bandage?) Obamacare.

1. No employer mandate.

Great. This is a key part of repeal.

2. Refundable tax credits to buy health insurance.

If competition is restored among insurance companies and across state lines, this breakthrough will organically force costs down. Full repeal needed.

3. Expansion of HSAs and FSAs. The bill expands both Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

Repeal government takings and let me save money. OK, but we need more. Full repeal, please.

4. Move Medicaid patients to regular coverage

Nope. Cut the adult-welfare umbilical cord, Congress, and cut the crap. Full repeal. There are too many able-bodied single adults on Medicare, Medicaid, Medi-Theft from the Young to Cover the Old.

5. Lower costs for the young, i.e. restore insurance ratios.

Why is the government imposing ratios on insurance companies in the first place? Repeal all government interventions. Got it?

6. Incentives to keep coverage.

Marketwatch makes it sounds nice, but it’s government overreach. Let private firms make that decision? REPEAL.

The cost of health care/health insurance is too damn high because the Government is Too Damn Big. (Hat Tip, Jerry McMillan). #RyanCare is more government pretending to care, but it’s really politicians caring about their jobs. Daniel Horowitz posts 20 brilliant proposals for health care—let’s try those.

But the in the meantime, repeal the whole damn Obamacare monstrosity, and let the free market make us healthy. I learned from my own political training: do not to settle for less. Don’t appoint me to a committee where we discuss the meaning of “repeal”. Just repeal the whole deal. When I said “Repeal”, I meant it. When the American people double-down and demand repeal, they meant it.  What part of repeal do you not understand, Congressmen?!

The same message goes to President Trump. He backed away from single-payer talk. OK, great, but it’s not the government’s job to ensure everyone is taken care of. That simply revives the road to serfdom one again.

Don’t just repeal Obamacare, but repeal all the stupid rules pushed by government and corporate interests to enrich themselves while impoverishing everyone else. And about more policy-oriented discussions …

Let’s repeal the nasty notion that health care is a “right” which the government must provide. It’s not working in Canada, the United Kingdom, or Sweden. Bernie Sanders is a spoiled regressive from Vermont. He should try getting health care in Canada, where he can pull a number of hope that he wins a locale’s once-a-month lottery to see a family doctor. The animals get better care than human beings.

Don’t just repeal the Obamacare monster. Remove all the decades-old layers of government regulation. During World War II, FDR imposed wage controls, so employers offered health insurance to compete for jobs. Now Americans expect third parties (including the government) to bear the burden).

Arbitrary caps on medical students, guild-system quotas on medical professionals, and arbitrary licensure laws are not helping. The government that wants to keep us healthy is making us sicker.
When Medicare arrived, more people ended up spending other people’s money for less healthcare.
Get rid of it.

The tort-lawyer lobby is kicking taxpayers’ butts. Time to discourage punitive damage awards? Restore the Common Law provisions which forced lawsuit losers to pay back the winning party’s attorney’s fees?

There’s a theme to these suggestions, along with scrapping Obamacare entirely.

I agree with US Senator Tom Cotton. Congress, do you job—REPEAL!
