Club for Growth Jumps Into Florida: Rick Scott for US Senate

This is a big move.

Bill Nelson, the aged Democrat trying to move further and further to the Left, is facing the stiffest challenge to his tenure yet.

His name is Rick Scott, the termed-out governor who won two very hard-fought races for the Governor's seat.

Rick Scott has not been perfect on every issue. He signed off on gun control measures, for example.

However, he also signed off on legislation which would protect the individual liberties of pastors, as well as parents and professionals to live in line with the freedom of religion. He also ensured massive economic growth.

The ruby red state of Florida could get even redder after Election 2018 with the toppling of Bill Nelson.

Club for Growth Victories in Texas Primaries, Plus Run-Off Endorsements

Dear Arthur,  Tuesday night was a HUGE night for conservatives! Many conservatives won their primaries outright or advanced to the runoff in Texas’ primary election. Club for Growth PAC is proud to endorse two of those candidates. In Texas’ 5th Congressional District, Bunni Pounds came in second Tuesday night with 22% of the vote, just behind her runoff opponent Lance Gooden who took 30% of the vote. Club for Growth members may recall that Club for Growth Action was active in the primary, educating voters about Lance Gooden’s horrendous record of supporting higher taxes and fees. In contrast, Bunni Pounds is a small businesswoman with a record of commitment as a fiscal conservative. She has also been endorsed by many local Texas conservative groups and leaders, such as Young Conservatives of Texas and retiring Congressman Jeb Hensarling (Club Score 95%). Gooden is an UNACCEPTABLE candidate, a veritable moderate who would be terrible in Congress. In addition to his tax hikes, Gooden is a supporter of teacher unions and a strong opponent of school choice. His campaign is littered with contributions from unions and trial lawyers. We have just over two months until the run-off on May 22nd. In Texas’ 6th Congressional District, Ron Wright came in first with 45% of the vote, and will advance to the run-off on May 22. Wright is the Tarrant County tax assessor and a former aide to retiring Rep. Joe Barton. Wright has a record of fighting for pro-growth policies. As a city councilman, he worked tirelessly to enact measures to protect citizens from eminent domain abuse and tax increases. Wright also pledged to only serve four terms. In contrast, the second-place finisher, Jake Ellzey, was a vocal opponent of Ted Cruz in his initial Senate race against David Dewhurst. Ellzey is an unrepentant moderate, and we don’t need more moderates in Congress! Ron Wright’s strong showing in the primary makes him the front-runner. Club for Growth Comes Out Against RyanCare, too!

RyanCare is simply not good enough.

When it comes to politics, conservatives are not afraid to play hardball.

Republican leaders, however, want to do the bidding of Big Business, or just want to get by and do enough to retain the honor that comes with titles and make off with nice pay and pensions.

The RyanCare approach is all wrong. Dr. Price and Donald Trump needed to support and re-introduce the 2015 Budget Reconciliation to get rid of Obamacare's massive problems and overburdened legislation.

Now the Club for Growth is not only opposing RyanCare, but standing by the bravest bunch of conservatives who want to end this travesty in the best way possible,

Our conservative allies in Congress are under fire for standing up for our principles.  We must come to their defense!

Dear Arthur, No doubt by now you heard about the betrayal by House Republican leaders and their allies, dropping a massive $500,000 ad buy against pro-growth conservatives in Congress.  When the American Action Network (the old Boehner PAC) attacked our allies in Congress, the Club for Growth came to their defense, with YOUR help. Now, I'm afraid as the battle comes closer to the vote on the House floor, the House leaders and their allies are doubling down, with even more pressure. You and I must stand beside our allies once again. The ads being run against our allies are filled with lies.  Leadership and special interests are all applying public, overt pressure to flip votes.
