Dear Colleague:
A Harvard/Harris poll showed some 80% of Americans oppose Sanctuary cities. This is a massively popular issue that unites Independents and some Democrats with Republicans.
You may have heard that Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel, my bride, introduced an Opt Out Resolution against SB-54 and to file legal actions against California, joining the Trump Administration. All her colleagues supported her motion, and the Sheriff announced she would regularly publish a list of all prisoners released, helping ICE do its job.
The next step is up to local officials and Republican leaders.
Clearly most citizens support the Federal government against the state’s radical illegal laws, protecting criminal aliens. We need another 57 counties to step up, along with another 57 elected sheriffs. Remember an elected sheriff cannot be fired by the state. 1000 more cities should join Los Alamitos.
Would you consider reaching out to your local officials? I cannot see how Sacramento Democrats can maintain their nullification laws, if there is widespread opposition.
