One of my friends pointed out the conspicious references to "constituents".:

Would it be presumptuous for me to attend? I did not think so.

Our tax dollars pay for those offices, whether that person represents me directly in Congress or no.

I planned to attend, and I did.

Two friends offered to go with me, and they permitted me to attend as their guests, too.

Why would any Congressional representative go to such lengths?

Even more interesting. . . I am on the Congresswoman's email listserv, and never received notice of this event.

I just looked over her Twitter feed, and found nothing about this event on January 20th.

Why would she not advertise this event openly? What was she worried about? Was she hiding?

On January 20th, I arrived at the Congresswoman's Commerce office with my two friends Betty Retama and George Franco:

I met the chief of staff Victor Castillo. After I handed him my card, he looked at it very intently. He was shocked or scared for some reason.

Later, I would find out why.

I mingled with a number of people whom I knew from Cudahy:

Castillo then confronted me, especially when he saw my "Fire Roybal-Allard" sign.

Yes, I was there to protest. Yes, I was there to. . .how does it go?

The First Amendment will tell you:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It's found in the Bill of Rights,Mr. Castillo, listed in our country's founding charter. More Congressmen seem bent on ignoring their oaths of office and disregarding the rights of individual citizens.

I have many grievances to petition to the Congresswoman. Every major federal authority tells me that she is responsible for investigating and demanding enforcement on federal matters in her district.

Which includes Huntington Park and Cudahy. Yes, I am repeating myself.

Castillo was intent on stopping me: "She has read your blog. This is a constituents' party. You need to be respectful."

Really? I have to be respectful, and yet the Congresswoman refuses to honor our laws and expect the same respect from the local governments for our borders and our current immigration system. The fearful hypocrisy is just too much.

The Chief of Staff confonts me
tried to limit my rights.

Roybal-Allard refuses to do her job. She is not demanding the enforcement of federal law in those two cities. Two illegal aliens remain seated on two city commissions, and Cudahy declared itself a "sanctuary city". For whom? The city council cannot control its own chambers or meetings.

This whole charade is turning into a sickening political fraud. The chief of staff continued to rebuff me with "she has no control over" the  matter.

False. 

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-Palos Verdes) confronted the Mexican consulate on Catalina Island for handing out ID cards to illegal aliens. I will not accept these excuses from the Congresswoman. She needs to do her job, respect her role as Congresswoman, and demand that the cities of Huntington Park and Cudahy honor federal law and legal residents.

The chief of staff tried to intimidate me into leaving the Congresswoman's office. I put aside the "Fire Roybal-Allard" sign and mixed with more of my friends in the room.

It did not work. I decided to ask Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, in front of everyone: "I am a guest with Betty and George. May I stay?"

Cringing somewhat, she answered: "Yes! Of course!"

Ha! Betty then came up with a great idea: "You can take a picture of me with the Congresswoman, can't you?"

Yes! Of course!

Right afterwards, I posed in another picture with We the People of Cudahy.

One of her staffers right away ran up to me: "Just because she took a picture with you does not mean that she agrees with your views."

What views would those be? Enforcing our existing immigration laws, perhaps?

Francisco Torres, an activist in Cudahy, spoke with the Congresswoman about the corruption in his city. He asked her not to endorse "Cudahy Chris" Garcia. She said that she did not endorse him.

Torres later reported to me in an open letter about his visit to Congresswoman Roybal-Allard:

Thank you Mr. Schaper for taking time and visiting Cudahy and listing the City Council meetings
Mr. Schaper you have in person experience the attitude of grandioso from Chris Garcia and the majority of Cudahy City Council. Chris Garcia did not give your respect and is the same he does to the community who trusted him and voted for him.

I was able to tell to Lucille Elsa Roybal-Allard “Do not endorse Chris Garcia from Cudahy City Council who will be running to get reelected in Cudahy”.

Note: Mrs. Royball-Allard made me repeat my sentence several times because she could not understand me or she could not hear me.

Mrs. Royball-Allard did not respect me. When I have talk to persons with problems hearing and the people with problems to hearing ask me to repeat myself and tell me they need to read my lips.
Mrs. Royball-Allard said she does not support local races or candidates.

I was told after by one of my friends Mrs. Royball-Allard son is the lawyer in the City of Cudahy.
I was intimidated by Mrs. Royball-Allard staff treat you without respect.

I ask Mrs. Royball-Allard bodyguard why you could not speak to Mrs. Royball-Allard. Mrs. Royball-Allard Secret Service did not say anything or explained the law he was following.

Reelections time for Mrs. Royball-Allard!

Do not vote for her! [Wow! Another Hispanic resident wants her out!]

Mrs. Royball-Allard needed to make time to listen to the people she represent.

Mrs. Royball-Allard will not solve all problems in California but she needs to listen to the people and she need to stop giving favorite treatment to Chris Garcia City Council from Cudahy City and his majority.

Why? Not one, not two, but THREE sheriff's deputies showed up.

Congresswoman Roybal-Allard wants to push people away. She wants to avoid media spotlight on her inaction in Huntington Park and Cudahy. Now she seeks to intimidate people from voicing their frustrations.

I agree with Mr. Torres. I also agree with a growing number of Cudahy and Huntington Park residents fed up with her inaction:

Final Reflection:

I spoke with a well-connected constituent of hers a few days later.

He was surprised and dismayed at the dismal treatment I received. He could not believe that the office would try to prevent someone who was not a direct constituent. "How could they tell? Did they check other people's cards? How else would they have know who belonged and who did not?

I agree.

"Our tax dollars pay for her office", he further commented.

I agree once again.

"She is not doing her job."

Yes! Yes! Yes!

On Immigration: I Am a Dissident For the Right

I have the profoundest respect for Jeff Jacoby. He is a beacon of right in a very liberal Massachusetts. Republicans are gaining ground in the Bay State, in some part due to Jacoby’s writings. He hipped me to a strong local contender named Ryan Fattman of Sutton, and now the middle of the state is going tea party read (with a center-left Republican Governor). When I read his dissident statement on immigration, I found a great deal of his argument still missing: “One of those ideals has always been the encouragement of immigration as an engine of American progress and prosperity.”

Yes, when done legally. Yes again, when there is no lavish welfare state inducing new arrivals to live off of other people’s taxpayer dollars. Yes a third time, when immigrants relinquish their former nationality and embrace their new American status.

These issues were not open for debate one hundred years ago. Men and women all over the world came to this country not just to take part, but become a part of the American Dream. Ramesh Ponnru of National Review indicated that his parents came in the early 60's. Sign on the dotted line, get a passport, and you are on your own. Similar standards in the 1800's required that immigrants would not become a burden on society, including pregnant single mothers. Such strictures would be politically incorrect today.

Immigration enforcement was definitely not a divisive issue for Republicans even as recently (?) as 1980. Primary opponents Ronald Reagan and George Herbert Walker Bush were trying to portray themselves as more compassionate on the issue. That was then. This is now. What has happened since one hundred, even fifty years ago? Free market economic Milton Friedman articulated the problem best: “You can have free immigration to work, but not to welfare.”

From FDR to President Obama, the federal government has expanded the welfare state and its entitlement mentality to catastrophic proportions. Obama governs like a reckless gringo caudillo, with no regard for our nation’s laws, deciding which immigration statutes to enforce. Worst of all, migrants today do not assimilate. I spoke with high ranking officials in the California Republican Party, and the bristled at that word “assimilation”. If migrants seeking asylum or a new life do not like that word, then why come in the first place?

Coupled with aggravated entitlements, the federal government has refused its one simple nation responsibility: secure the border. Pro-amnesty proponents forget that a conservative Republican—Ronald Reagan—signed off on amnesty, with a law from Congress (take notes on your phone and pen, Obama!). The condition? A secure border.

We still don’t have one, and with the rising terrorist threats as well as rampant criminality along the border and in major cities, a guarded border is not just a political talking point, but an unequivocal necessity. Alexander Solzhenitsyn said it best: “Nations are the spice of life.” Yet nations cannot exist without borders, without telling demarcations. As Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Jordan declared: “We want to make sure that those who deserve to get in, get in.” Yes, a Democrat said that. I also stand with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal: “Immigration without assimilation is invasion.” I would also add, where there is no law, the people perish (that statement comes from Chanell Temple of We the People Rising).

Jacoby speaks of well of immigration, but he proceeds from a faulty foundation, ignoring the present political and legal realities. Too much government in our private lives hands out other people’s money, not enough government secures our borders, and a rising mass of people refuse to adapt to and adopt to the American way.

Jacoby should come to the Golden state, and see how illegal, unfettered immigration is tarnishing this once glowing paradise. In California, the margins of legality are blurring for the worse because of immigration. Not only have I written—nay, exposed—the illegal actions of the rogue Huntington Park, CA City council for appointing two illegal aliens to city councils, but We the People Rising have started targeting other cities and elected officials who welcome refugees who cannot be screened.

In Cudahy, CA once a peaceful working class community, the  majority of the city council declared their one square mile municipality a “sanctuary city.” Sanctuary city policies have done anything but provide sanctuary. Ask the parents of Kathryn Steinle.

Two weeks ago, I attended Cudahy’s raucous city council meetings. The rampant lawlessness has invaded even the council chambers, where the majority does not honor contracts, has moved close down city hall for three days out of the week, then cancels city council meetings and suppress public participation. Locals have blasted their corruption relentless, and when We the People Rising arrived, the city council was overwhelmed, repeatedly called out on their corruption and malfeasance. Watch this video to see the corrupt Cudahy Chris Garcia flee, followed by the sheepish mayor Cristian Markovich.

The Southeast Los Angeles corridor is turning into a coven of crime and corruption, where illegals live in the shadows, and elected officials engage in shady activities, without the legal populace fighting to stop it. These corrupt officials buy support by refusing to enforce or ally with federal officials, and then they rob the store.

How much longer will this last? Not any more for We the People.

I take further exception to Jacoby’s comment “Just a few election cycles ago, immigrant-bashing and seal-the-border nativism was limited to a relatively narrow sliver of the political right.” The vast majority of Americans support LEGAL immigration, Mr. Jacoby. Demanding the rule of law, a secure border, and proper assimilation is not nativism.

Americans’ demand for the rule of law is not racism or hate, despite the desperate pleading of pro-illegal alien activists like the lady in this video who tried to shout me down in Huntington Park, CA. Illegal immigration is breeding lawlessness throughout. Contrary to Jacoby’s assertion, I am not surprised that the Vocal (right!) Majority demands an abrupt stop to illegal immigration.

CVUHSD's Molina Resigned - So Should the HP and Cudahy Crooks

Centinela Valley Union High School District Board of Trustees has been a hotbed of incompetence and corruption.

In last year's election, one incumbent was thrown out of office, and now another has stepped down.

Abruptly.

The Daily Breeze reports:

Centinela Valley school board member Maritza Molina abruptly resigns

Centinela Valley school board member Maritza Molina, who resisted public demands that she resign over her support for ousted Superintendent Jose Fernandez, abruptly stepped down from her post this week, citing “personal reasons.”

Personal reasons? Yes, like she personally does not want to spend time in jail, perhaps?

Molina, who announced her decision over the holiday break, faced hostile constituents nearly two years ago when news emerged that Fernandez, whom she long supported, had enriched himself on the district’s dime, taking in more than $750,000 in compensation in one year. 

Did Molina get rich, too? An immigrant community, taken advantage by another well-connected politician. Where I have read this before? Hmm. . .

But she, like other board members, dismissed demands for her resignation.
Molina did not return calls for comment about why she decided to step down now. Her colleagues offered no other explanation either. 

They should plan on resigning, as well.

“I was surprised, but I respect her decision,” said new board member Daniel Urrutia, who was elected in November. “I see this as an opportunity for a new member of the community to join the board and help move the district forward.” 

So far, Urrutia is the only trustworthy member of the board. If Gloria Ramos gets her act together and starts voting against the status quo, then the board would be in better financial footing and moral standing.

The vacancy, by some measures, creates an even 2-2 split on the board. In recent years, board President Hugo Rojas had the support of members Molina, Rocio Pizano and Lorena Gonzalez. Board member Gloria Ramos was the lone dissenting voice. But Gonzalez lost her seat in November to Daniel Urrutia and now Molina is gone. 

Still, Rojas was quick to say the split isn’t so defined. 

“I am trying to bring peace and togetherness to the board,” he said. 

And Rojas and Ramos already agree on one thing: holding an election to replace Molina would be expensive. They both suggested they would more likely support appointing someone to the seat. 
Rojas said he hopes the Centinela Valley Union High School District will conduct significant outreach to the community to find a board member “who is from the community, knows our schools, has a background in giving back to the community … perhaps an alumni or parent.”

That is exactly what should happen. Outreach!

Maritza Molina

“I think we could have a very open, transparent selection process,” Ramos said. “I really just want the best for the district, and I want someone who is truly committed.”

The board will decide the process for filling the seat at its meeting Tuesday. 

An appointment would have to be made within 60 days. A special election could be held during the June primary, Superintendent Gregory O’Brien said. The new member would have to live in the district’s Region 1, which Molina represented. 

Molina faced particularly strong criticism during the Fernandez scandal because, as board president, she initially defended his high compensation.

 She sure did. She defended just about everything about Fernandez.

In a guest commentary published days after the news of Fernandez’s contract broke, Molina wrote that the focus on his compensation “fails to do justice to the great work accomplished during his tenure.” She said his contract was vetted and approved in a transparent process. 
Molina later backtracked on that support and instead voted with the board to fire Fernandez. 

Molina was so cowardly. Shameful. Molina has run away, hoping to avoid further scrutiny.

I submit that residents and activists in Huntington Park and Cudahy should demand the same ouster for the corrupt city council members in their cities, too!

The Second Amendment in the South Bay

The Second Amendment is getting some well-deserved press in the local South Bay papers.

In Hawthorne, CA, a former Leuzinger High School coach stopped a burglar in his home. . .by shooting at him:

90-year-old former UCLA running back holds intruder at gunpoint until Hawthorne police arrive

A 90-year-old retired Leuzinger High School football coach fired a gunshot into a wall and held an intruder for police early Wednesday, minutes after he awakened to find the man in his Hawthorne home.

Jim Chadwick, who coached at the Lawndale high school from 1951 to 1960, said it was the first time in 40 years he ever had to pull out and load his .38 Special handgun.

That's part of the good news. Thankfully, law abiding residents of the South Bay do not have to routinely rely on their own guns to keep themselves safe. Crime is relatively low, and the murder rate falls in the negative range.

“He sat up on the end of the bed and he moved toward me,” Chadwick said. “I said, ‘Don’t move, I’m going to fire.’ So I fired into the wall just to let him know the gun was loaded. He sat back.”

It wasn’t clear why the intruder entered Chadwick’s house near Richard Henry Dana Middle School. He didn’t appear to be taking anything. Instead, the intruder laid down on a bed and might have been drifting off to sleep.

Chadwick said he awakened about 3 a.m. and noticed a figure in his bedroom. The figure moved into a lighted hallway near his 89-year-old wife’s bedroom so he quickly got out of bed, opened his gun chest and loaded the gun.

He then held the man at gunpoint until police arrived, but chose not to shoot him.

“A human life is worth too much to just go shooting someone,” Chadwick said.

This statement deserves considerable respect. Many pro gun control activists like to argue that gun owners have no respect or regard for life. The argument also continues that possession of a firearm carries too many fraught conseuences. Chadwick is 90 years old and demonstrated considerable caution and regard with this gun.

The man apparently had entered the house through an unlocked sliding door. It was not clear that his intention was burglary. He might simply have been looking for a place to sleep.

“That’s what went through my mind,” Chadwick said. “He might be one of the homeless near Costco. He left a pair of shoes in my bedroom and they were all wet. So it could be very possible he was homeless and came in to sleep. The police officer said he could have been drinking.”

Chadwick, who uses a walker most of the time, somehow got out of bed, loaded his gun in the dark, and walked without the walker during the confrontation. He did not use it when he walked outside to speak to the police.

President Obama issued a series of executive orders on gun ownership, which included items to targeted the elderly. Accounts like this one prove that everyone has a right to keep and bear arms, regardless of their age.

In Redondo Beach, a resident protected his property with a firearm, and stopped a burglar:

A Redondo Beach homeowner who discovered a burglar stealing his motorcycle from his garage shot him in the leg when he confronted the thief, police said Wednesday.

The resident then chased the man and held him for police.

The confrontation occurred about 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Nelson Avenue. Police said the unidentified resident learned someone was inside his garage. He armed himself with a handgun and confronted the alleged burglar, who was pushing his motorcycle from the house.

“The homeowner attempted to detain Laurencio Gamboa Jr. at the garage, and a shooting occurred,” Redondo Beach police Sgt. Shawn Freeman said.

The resident fired once, hitting Gamboa, 33, of Redondo Beach in the leg. Gamboa turned and ran, but the homeowner chased him and detained him until officers arrived, Freeman said.

Gamboa was treated at a hospital for his wound and booked at the Redondo Beach jail on suspicion of burglary and vehicle theft. He was held on $50,000 bail.

The homeowner was not hurt.

Detectives plan to submit their reports on the shooting Thursday to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Gamboa is expected to appear in Torrance court Thursday.

The Second Amendment is not about deer. It's not about collecting and shooting. It's about protection it's about safety.

And most importantly, liberty.

David Hadley Gets an "F" from Planned Parenthood

The culture wars are as heated and spirited as ever.

Pro-life supporters marched for life in Washington DC, despite the intense cold. The snowstorms may have deterred lawmakers, but Pro-Life forces will not cease to defend all walks of life.

In Sacramento, life-legislation faces hurdles. The Democratic caucus is dedicated to personal licenses rather than principled liberty.

Yet even in the midst of these political hardships, Republicans can still stand for life.

In the 66th Assembly District, David Hadley (R-Torrance), has checked off a respectable set of successes, in spite of his freshman minority status.

He has failed in one respect, a astounding fail

He has an F- from Planned Murderhood, er. . . Parenthood.

Incredibly, Hadley scores worse (17%) than conservative Republican Tom Lackey (R-Palmdale, 27%) and Catharine Baker (R-Dublin, 29%)

I have received a number of messages and statements from residents in the South Bay, many of whom express deep displeasure with Hadley's record on life issues.

Any candidates scoring so badly on the Planned Murderhood 2015 legislative scorecard is doing something RIGHT in my opinion.

Thank you, Assemblyman Hadley, for saying No! to Planned Murderhood's radical agenda.

I look forward to a pro-life budget in the next legislative session.

More importantly, from a culture and political perspective in current time, South Bay residents seem more concerned about business growth, economic stagnation, educational opportunities, immigration, and public safety. At the first Beach Cities Republicans meeting of the year, a US Senate candidates forum, no one submitted questions about abortion, gay marriage, and the Second Amendment.

Those issues usually rank as divisive social issues which many people ask about. At the January 21st meeting, they were not featured issues of concern.  . .

The Incoherence of La Raza Race-Baiters

At the January 19th, 2016 City Council meeting, racist supporters of the illegal aliens came out in slightly larger numbers (instead of none, two or three).

One lady named Carla, who was wearing a green dress, started shouting next to me: "Stop the Hate!"

Yet she kept talking about racism and "white people."

She also lied, claiming that members of We the People Rising were racist and harassing Francisco Medina, one of the two illegal aliens appointed to city commissions in Huntington Park.

He had tapped me on the shoulder to greet me earlier in the council meeting, then chose to sit in the back and say nothing while I and others in our team asked him uestions.

Carla is Medina's girlfriend. She was kissing and hugging him outside of the city council chambers as she left.

I confronted her at the end of the meeting, as she was running away. She kept trying to justify her hatredr toward us.

One of the young people who supported Francisco kept calling We the People Rising "white supremacists". Huh?

Does these three individuals look like white supremacists?

What these protesters?

What about all of us?

We the People Rising is made up of all kinds of people.

All races, colors, and creeds.

The La Raza race-baiters keep wanting to make this about race.

It's not working, and never will.

The Illogic of Hateful Amnesty Supporters: Alfredo Gama and "Carla" EXPLAINED

A few months ago, I exposed the deeply-rooted hatred of young pro-amnesty supporter Alfredo Gama, whose fierce aggression reflects the lack of understanding or respect for the rule of law and the integrity of every human being.

Today, I want to explain this virulent hatred.

Many young students, including individuals of Hispanic descent, are reading high school and college textbooks which preach a communistic political ideology, and a patent hatred for the United States.

One man was telling me that the materials are filled with excessively violent and sexually explicit material, often geared toward desensitizing learning minds from discerning the truth.

Young people are getting force-fed a lot of racist propaganda in local colleges.

Cal State Dominguez Hills spends much of its Native American curriculum talking about the wrongdoings of "The White Man."

These race-oriented historians should revisit the history of the Americas.

The Spaniards who arrived in the 1500s could never have to taken over the Aztec Empire on their own.

They didn't. The local tribes forced into Aztec tribute worked with the Spaniards. Let's never forget that the current totalitarian dictators in Meso America were sacrificing human beings to the Sun.

Alfred Gama

Yes.

Without European intervention, there would be no Mexico, and no Mexican people.

Furthermore, for all this racist talk about the Reconquista. . .they need to reread the histories from the mid-1800s. As soon as the Mexican-American war broke out along the Southern border, Mexicans  were hoping that the United States would annex the entire country! They did not want to identify with the rampant corruption and lawlessness in their nation. The rule of law, the respect for individual liberties and limited government appeals to all people.

Fast forward 150 years later, and I do not believe that those Mexicans then would want any kind of Reconquista. Mexico lays no claims to any lands north of the Rio Grande. The territory was purchased legally, fair and square through the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Many of the pro-amnesty haters are simply ignorant.

The lack of history, the racist commentaries, the political left-wing radicalism of left-wing professors and the teachers in local high schools have all perverted young people's understanding of the truth, and the great history of this country.

Hatred is born out of ignorance. For that reason, Alfreda Gama contended that borders and walls are un-American. He also called me an anchor baby. Really?! Yes he did.

He is wrong.

And then there was this confrontation from a young Razista named Carla at the January 19th, 2016 Huntington Park, CA City Council meeting. She kept shouting that white people have to stop hating. What is she talking about? She ignored Deann D'Lean, who is of Hispanic descent, along with Raul Rodriguez of America First Latinos. Here is another racist young person, who called me and others "white supremacists". Two Hispanic gentlemen confronted him on his comments.

A number of Hispanic-Americans attended that city council meeting and protest the majority for appointing two illegal aliens to city commissions. My outrage at their illegal actions has nothing to do with race. None at all.

Yet they continue to play the race card and the hate card. Why? That is all the know, for they operate out of hatred and racism themselves.

More Support for We the People Rising in Huntington Park

I received the following comment through Facebook this morning:

I know it's frustrating and I'm sure at times you may even question are you making a difference? HELL YEAH you are!! Unfortunately, it takes a strong person and type of individual to persevere. But, I believe if you do the right thing, the right results will happen.

LA Wave's Major Media Fail on Huntington Park Meeting

The Los Angeles Wave Newspapers have covered the ongoing activism of We the People Rising in Huntington Park.

The newspaper's main reporter for the city council meetings, Arnold Adler, has been a key contact for me. In the past, I would inform him when our group was working on something in the city, or preparing for the next city council  meeting.

Without my informing him, he would have never known that that January 5th, 2016 city council meeting was canceled.

His latest article on our work in Huntington Park, however, left too much to be desired.

The article copy was riddle with factual and spelling errors, once with the same name spelled two different ways.

Just terrible.

The headline was misleading:

Protesters continue disrupting H.P. City Council meetings

It seems strange to abbreviate Huntington Park. What is going on?

Then the rest of the article follows:

HUNTINGTON PARK — Relegated to the end of the meeting, members of a regional group that has repeatedly criticized the City Council still made their voices heard early in the Jan. 19 session.

Told that only comments related to items on the agenda could be heard at the start of the meeting, members of We The People Rising discussed two items to level their rebukes.

We sure did. In the past, Huntington Park City Council rules would only permit comment at one point in the meeting, and on both agenda and non-agenda items. Now that the city council tries to discourage us from speaking, the council has given us more opportunities to criticize them. They did not think through our resolve to hold them accountable.

The items were participation in an open street CicLAvia program May 15 and a trip to a shopping center convention May 22-25. Council later approved both items.

Arthur Schaper of Torrance spoke against closing a city street for the bicycle and pedestrian event while Robin Hvidson of Claremont berated the council for considering the Las Vegas trip at a cost of $12,000.

She told a reporter she also protested the open street event and its cost, but was not allowed to speak. Mayor Karina Macias said she did not have a comment request card from Hvidson for that subject.

That statement is a lie. Robin did place a card in the box to comment on this matter. A public records request is pending on this discrepancy.

City staff noted that CivLAvia is a joint program with other cities and is funded by a grant from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

City officials have noted that past trips to the Las Vegas convention have resulted in businesses, such as Starbucks, moving into the city.

While the council was in closed session, Schaper conducted loud interviews, taped by Havidson [sic] , with a Huntington Park police officer repeating charges that the city broke the law by  appointing two non-citizens to advisory commission.

Notice that misspelling of Robin Hvidston's last name. As for loud interviews, I am not sure what Adler is writing about. Here is a video link showing part of what happened during the closed session.

Adler failed to report that the closed session lasted more than an hour. He also neglected to report that the city attorney violated the Brown Act.

Schaper was challenged by a young woman who said the group should stop harassing the council. The woman, who identified herself only as “Karla” and said she was a Huntington Park resident and citizen, led a group of audience members in chanting “stop the hate.”

Schaper responded by leading a chant “get in line,” meaning immigrants should apply for citizenship.

If anyone watches the video, they will hear that I never once chanted "get in line." The sign I carried did read that phrase, but I never said that. He also failed to report the racist remarks from "Karla", and how she had been raising her voice to drown out everyone else. She talked about brown people and white people. So much racist rhetoric, and Adler ignored all of it.

Here is another video, in which I confronted one of the college graduates who called me a "white supremacist." Does this video count as one of the "loud interviews" which Alder was referring to? No one complained that I was too loud when I was speaking with this person. Furthermore, Adler wrote nothing about that young man's racist remarks.

Members of the group continued to shout comments from their seats during the meeting, resulting in pleas for order from Mayor Karina Macias, two five-minute recesses and warnings from a police officer and City Attorney Arnold Alvarez-Glasman that disrupting the meeting could result in temporary removal from the council chambers.

Adler forgot to report that Macias had left out four speaker cards and had to permit those four individuals to address the council on agenda items. He then neglects to mention why we were shouting. Robin wanted to speak on agenda item #7, and was not permitted to do so. Her rights were violated, and we protested that violation. 

One member of the group, Raul Rodriguez, was removed.

He was removed temporarily. He returned at the end of the meeting to speak during the final public comment period. Adler would not have known, since he left before final public comment had begun. Very disappointing, and bad reporting.

The group has protested with comments and signs calling for removal of the non-citizens, Francisco  Medina from the Health and Education Commission and Julian Zatarain from the Parks and Recreation Commission; also for the recall of all council members except Valentin Amezquita, who voted against appointment of the two.

"Non-citizens"? Really?! The political correctness knows no bounds in the press. UGH!

Council members were not able to start the regular business meeting until about 8:30 p.m., some two and one-half hours into the meeting, which continued well past midnight.

He is correct that the meeting continued well into the  next morning. His reporting suggests that the delays in the meeting are the fault of We the People Rising.

The truth is that if the Huntington Park City Council had never violated federal and state law in appointing the two illegal aliens to city commissions, we would not be there to protest in the first place. None of us would have raised our voices against the city council of the mayor had not deliberately misplaced or left out our speaker cards.

More residents in the city would not complain if they members honored their oaths of office and served the city rather than themselves.

This article was the worst reporting I have read from the LA Wave in a long time. Very disappointed.

Huntington Park City Council Meeting: January 19th, 2016

We the People Rising had not attended a Huntington Park, CA city council meeting for more than a month.

After the December 15th, 2015 meeting, the city council called a special session on the 23rd, two days before Christmas. Then the city clerk posted that the January 5th meeting was cancelled.

And yet, the January 19th  meeting held a prior Assessor's meeting.

I called out the council for postponing one meeting -- even though Graciela Ortiz was healthy enough to participate in a marathon. Mayor Macias and city manager Cisneros were working in city hall on January 5th.

We chased them around the city grounds that night, then caroled at their homes.

Now here we are January 19th, and the city council and staff have to sit through our protests and demands for the rule of law.

During my first comment, about the city's assessor agency, I blasted their evasion and then uestioned why they were holding a set of meetings that evening.

Macias ruled me out of order, yet nothing happened. She is already losing her grip on the city council and the chambers.

The room that evening was packed. It was uite a sight. People from all over Southern California showed up to support the cause of We the People Rising. I met so many people, including friend and relatives of the good Dr. Robert Newman.

It was really impressive.

There were also more supporters for the two illegal aliens, including Francisco Medina himself. I confronted him a number of times during the meeting and throughout the closed session. But more on that later.

During the firsts session, presentations and awards, the city council recognized the appointment of the first female sergeant to the Huntington Park police force. Sanabria and Macias made points about the police department as a "male dominated field." They never pass up an opportunity to bring up cultural marxism, gender bending, and all-out left-wing talking points whenever they can.

Shame on them.

Still, the appointment of this young lady was one of the high points of the city council meeting.

Then came the period for public comment. As usually, Jhonny Pineda offered a motion to divide public comment on non-agenda items to the end of the meeting.

Once again, the groanings and mockery emanated from the audience. These four corrupt city council members keep trying to silence We the People, and they are failing miserably.

During public comment, a number of us spoke out against the city's proposal to spend $12,000 to attend a conference in Nevada. Why spend so much money, especially when a large number of residents are working two jobs to make a similar amount of money in one year?!

I spoke against the city's proposal to spend $300,000 on on CivLAvia program. The last thing that Huntington Park needs is more closed streets. The parking situation is terrible. No urban planning has taken place to remedy this issue. I reminded the city council that our caroling to their home took longer because of the terrible traffic. Why would anyone want closed roads in their city?

After public comment on agenda items had ended, the city council ran off to closed session. They spent nearly an hour, if not more. What was taking them so long?

During the closed session, I confronted the illegal alien Francisco Medina. He refused to answer any questions which I asked him. He had spent years visiting other states and rallying illegals and pro-amnesty supporters in other parts of the country. Yet he never bothered to follow the legal process to become a citizen.

I started chanting for him to give up the commission assignment, and become a legal resident. One of the Huntington Park police officers asked me really nicely to stop protesting, because what I was doing was amounting to "harassment" or bullying.

Give me a break! The police are just as scared of us as the city council, and they cannot do anything about it.

Then a racist young lady dressed in green started yelling at me, trying to shut me down or intimidate me to go away. She took out her camera and started recording me. I had no problem with it. She kept preaching that we were hating, and that we need to stop harassing Medina. It failed.

Another lady came right next to the woman, who was later identified as Carla. The older woman told me to stop giving the illegal alien a hard time. "You should blame the city council, since they appointed him."

Later on, I explained to her that Medina is also guilty. He could have rejected the appointment. He should be taking steps to become a legal resident of this country, too.

Carla continued shouting racist slogans. Members of We the People Rising chanted back "USA! USA!" Her attempt to drawn me out and get me to move failed. Other young men sat next to Medina, recording my comments and making rude, racist remarks. One of them, a college graduate, called me a "white supremacist."

I later confronted him in the hallway outside the city council chambers. He could not answer my straightforward questions. That was a very important moment for our activism. I had wanted for the longest time to reach out to young people and really talk about these issues, getting beyond the sound-bytes and the race card.

Dr. Newman, Raul Rodriguez, and Isaac Rodriguez explained that our opposition to illegal immigration has nothing to do with race. The two of them are both of Mexican dissent, but both are proud Americans who want a secure border and a legal immigration system.

After the hour-long closed session, Mayor Macias conceded that she had neglected (or purposely ignored) a few speaker cards for agenda items. Raul had to pressure the city council, including the chief of police and the city clerk, to ensure that he and Dean D'Lean could speak.

The city attorney and the council interrupted Raul a few times, yet refused to restore his time back to him. He called them out of their frequent violations of the Brown Act, and still the city staff refused to comply.

When the mayor refused to allow Robin Hvidston to address the council on another agenda items, members of the audience (including myself) raised an uproar. She was not allowed to speak on an item. That is wrong. The city council moved into recess at least two more times before they directed the police to remove Raul.

He sat down and took his breath. The police officers went back and forth trying to convince him to get up and leave the chambers. When Rodriguez finally did get up, the police chief called for Raul to leave the building or stay outside.

Even then, fortunately, the police worked with Raul, and he came back in to speak during the final public comment portion. Unfortunately, Robin was still denied the opportunity to speak on another key agenda item. Our protests continued, but the city council refused to relent.

The council proceeded with discussion on the agenda items. The council voted to allow CicLAvia and the trip to Las Vegas. Councilman Amezquita explained that the conference permitted the city officials to attract new businesses to Huntington Park and bring new jobs and improve the economy.

One more time, the city council went into recess while the rest of us waited in the chambers for the final public comment.

The meeting did not end formally until 12:30 am, but We the People Rising insisted that we stay and hold the city council accountable for their corruption, fraud, and lawlessness.

Eric Loya, the former mayor of Huntington Park, informed everyone in the room that he once served as an informant to the FBI to catch fellow councilmembers engaging in bribery. He then shamed the city council for their frequent attempts to stifle freedom of speech along with other routine violations of the Brown Act.

When I stood up to address the council, Sanabria and Ortiz fled the chambers. What cowards they are.

Before the meeting ended, Dr. Newman stood up and demanded the opportunity to address the Huntington Park city council, since he had submitted a speaker card. Macias played with the audience, declaring that she had a motion and a second to adjourn the  meeting.

She gaveled out the meeting and fled. The police had to pressure everyone to leave the chambers.

For the first time in my memory, the Huntington Park City council meeting ended after midnight.
