Success! California's Illegal Alien State Senator Cannot "Tear Down This Wall"

The winning never ends, even in dreary deep-blue California.

State Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) was hoping to bankrupt or cut off business to contractors working in the state of California if they helped to build the border wall.

SB 30 was the bill, and Lara was going in the for the kill.

Anything that he could do to run on the anti-Trump agenda, Lara was going to do it.

But when the bill was set to go before a key assembly committee, Lara had to pull the bill.

Why? He couldn't get the votes!

SENATOR RICARDO LARA SHELVES SB 30 OPPOSING BORDER WALL

THANK YOU FOR CALLING AND EMAILING TO OPPOSE SENATOR RICARDO LARA'S BILL!

SENATOR RICARDO LARA'S BILL SB 30 OPPOSING THE BORDER WALL HAS BEEN SHELVED!

I just called the CA State Assembly Accountability and Administrative Review Committee as Senator Ricardo Lara's California-Mexico border: federally funded infrastructure, that would have penalized contractors or individuals involved in the construction of the border wall, apparently did not go forward for a committee hearing yesterday as was scheduled.
http://aaar.assembly.ca.gov/

The
Assembly Accountability and Administrative Review Committee staff member informed me that Senator Ricardo Lara has "pulled" SB 30 because there were not enough votes for the bill to pass out of the committee! This is great Sacramento news, for a change!

THANK YOU to all of you who voiced your opposition to this bill.

CALL Assembly Committee: VOTE NO on Bill Opposing Border Wall SB 30

We need a wall, a big beautiful wall along the United States' southern border. It's time to stop the spread of drugs and crime, the cartel violence and abject lawlessness of Latin America into our country.

Illegal immigration is hurting everyone. It hurts the law-abiding citizens, the taxpayers, the small business owners, cities and states, and law enforcement officers.

It's time to stop this illegal alien madness.

Of course, in California the Democratic Party, already fraying at the seams over its unseemly behavior against its own grassroots as well as the entire citizenry forced to pay for their dystopian fantasies.

Enough is enough.

Shame on State Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Huntington Park) for pushing legislation to prevent the Southern border wall from being built. These kinds of political shenanigans should have led to a clear-cut recall against this corrupt fraud. How shameful, how base do our elected officials think they can go?

The specifics about his heinous SB 30 are as follows:

Existing law establishes the border between the United States and Mexico, which includes the southern border of California.

This bill would make findings and declarations related to a wall on the border between California and Mexico.

This bill would prohibit the state, commencing January 1, 2018, from awarding or renewing any contract with any person, as defined, that at the time of bid or proposal for a new contract or renewal of an existing contract is providing or has provided on or after January 1, 2018, goods or services to the federal government for the construction of a federally funded wall, fence, or other barrier along California’s southern. border, as defined.

Existing law defines “responsible bidder” for the purposes of public works contracts as a bidder who has demonstrated the attribute of trustworthiness, as well as quality, fitness, capacity, and experience to satisfactorily perform the public works contract.

This bill would provide that, for purposes of contacts with the state, the term “responsible bidder” does not include a bidder who, at the time of the bid or proposal for a new contract or renewal of an existing contract, is providing or has provided goods or services on or after January 1, 2018, to the federal government for the construction of a federally funded wall, fence, or other barrier along California’s southern border, as defined.

State Senator Ricardo Lara: Victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome

Because of Donald Trump's election, the California Democratic Supermajority is already worried for the future.

They had no idea that their progressive agenda would hit a brick wall (figuratively and literally) after the November 8th Election. After all, California has been reliably Democratic in Presidential Election since 1996.  From that point forward, Democrats have taken over more statewide and legislative seats.

With Election 2016, it was crystal clear that California has become a center-left state. Republicans plus concerned independents and conservative Democrats are worried about the drift of the once Golden State.

Lara was a Hillary Champion, now a sore loser

Now, it looks like the Democratic lawmakers are worried, because a true enforcer is in the White House. State Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Long Beach, Huntington Park) has thrown out a series of bills designed to counterattack the Trump agenda.

Check them out below:

SB 29:

This legislation is a second attempt from state senator Lara to end the private contracts between cities and detention centers for illegal aliens:

This bill would, commencing on January 1, 2019, prohibit a city, county, or city and county, or a local law enforcement agency from entering into, renewing, or extending the length of a contract with a private corporation, contractor, or vendor to detain immigrants in civil immigration proceedings for profit.

This bill would require a city, county, or city and county, or a local law enforcement agency that chooses to enter into, renew, or extend a contract to detain immigrants in civil immigration proceedings to detain immigrants only pursuant to a contract that requires the immigration detention facility operator to adhere to specified standards.

Reminder: Governor Brown (left-wing and crazy) vetoed this legislation, since law enforcement still needs resources to ... uphold the law!

Illegal immigration is a crime, and illegal aliens are criminals. The fact is that private contracting is a cheaper and more efficient means for cities to hold illegal alien suspects and criminals until federal authorities arrive and deport them.

This Lara guy needs to be shut down or arrested. He is preaching and legislating treason!

He has submitted other legislation, but the good news is that he is so distracted with fighting Donald Trump he won't be able to do the damage that I had feared based on what he had tried to do last year:

Existing law establishes the border between the United States and Mexico, which includes the southern border of California.

This bill would require any federally funded infrastructure project along California’s southern border that exceeds a cost of $1 billion to first be approved by a majority of the voters voting on the issue at a statewide general election. The bill also would make related findings and declarations.

Some critics have posited that this is a brilliantly wicked piece of legislation Of course the federal courts would challlenge it -- if it were passed--but the phalanx of liberal jurists at the Ninth Circuit would probably approve it.

I disagree. I believe that Lara's hand will get slapped down--again--just as it did with SB 1146. Federal law TRUMPS state law, and there is nothing that the State Senator can do about it.

If he is so concerned about federal construction along the California-Mexico border, then he should have run for Congress or the United States Senate.

Really, though. This legislation is a political stunt at its lowest. Very sad!

Existing law prohibits a state agency from including a question regarding an applicant‘s race, sex, marital status, or religion in any application form for employment.

This bill would prohibit a state agency from providing or disclosing to the federal government information regarding a person’s religious affiliation when the information is sought for compiling a database of individuals based solely on religious affiliation.

This bill is to combat Donald Trump's "proposed Muslim registry", although there is no evidence, in the past or currently, which suggests that Trump would pursue such a policy.

Let's not forget that Lara and his fellow Democrats wanted to subdivide Asian categories into more specific numbers in order to track them and then turn them into government dependents or a victim class.

Asian advocates throughout the state opposed this perverse agenda, and yet the lawmakers refused t listen to them. Whatever happened to government of the people, for the people, and by the people?

With these three bills (and probably more to come), Lara is playing his own "Trump" card to shut down or stall the President's law-minded agenda.

What folly. Lara has a bad case of "Trump Derangement Syndrome", and it will certainly explode in his face. It's too bad the voters in SD-33 didn't tell him: "You're FIRED!"
