Trump Moving Toward Winning Upsets in ... Maine?

The Pine Tree State, Maine has not gone Republican since 1988, when George H. W. Bush rode Ronald Reagan's coattails into the White House.

Maine has been out of reach for Republicans since then.

Once in a while, Republicans would get elected to the governor's mansion, and at one time, both US Senators were Republicans (albeit very liberal).

Now a conservative Republican serves in the Governor's mansion and represents Northern Maine in the Second District.

In that same district, Donald Trump is beating Hillary Clinton by ten points!

This is incredible.

The Maine Republican Party did not let this news sit in the newspaper, either!

The state party's executive director released this latest eblast:

Have you seen the great news!?

A new Colby College-Boston Globe poll is showing that Maine, once a playground for National Democrat special interest groups, is on the verge of delivering at least 1, and maybe 3, electoral votes for Mr. Donald Trump.

This poll was published in the left-leaning Boston Globe!

Not Breitbart, and not Rasmussen!

However, right now we need to make sure we do not take a single thing for granted over the next 7 weeks. As we get closer to Election Day, we need all hands on deck and your support!

The state of Maine has developed a stronger undercurrent of hard-working conservative leaders who don't take crap from liberal, elitist special interests!

Maine Governor Paul LePage has played a large part in bringing the Republican brand into greater force in this New England bastion.

The article from the Boston Globe was more promising for Republicans, especially for Donald Trump:

Maine doles out its four Electoral College votes in an unusual way, awarding two votes to the statewide winner and another for each of its two congressional districts. Trump’s campaign had hoped to pick off a single electoral vote in the more conservative, vast, and rural Second District — something that has never happened in Maine’s political history.

This "usual" process should be more common. Presidential candidates would campaign in more states, and grant more power to otherwise marginalized Democratic and Republican voters in one-party states.

In California, certain Congressional districts can tilt Republican during a general election, even if the Congressional incumbent is a Democrat. A Republican Presidential candidate could count on winning at least 14 electoral votes in the Golden State. A Democratic contender could pick up electoral votes in Texas or even Alabama with the right national campaign.

That is, if more states adopted Congressional representation for their Electoral College allocation.

So, what is happening in Maine?

But the poll shows Trump’s dominance in the Second District — he leads Clinton by 10 points there — is boosting him statewide, as well. In the 1st Congressional District, which includes Portland and points south, Clinton has an 18-point lead, showing just how politically divided the state is geographically.

The Boston Globe article tried to glance over this troubling development for the Democratic nominee.

It's still a YUGE development.

And there's more.

What’s more, politics are shifting in the state once known for electing moderate Republicans like Margaret Chase Smith, who served as a US senator. The state reelected its controversial and highly partisan GOP governor, Paul LePage, in 2014.

They forgot to mention that LePage won by 37% of the vote, but has governed pretty effectively.

He won by a wider margin in 2014, as he competed against three candidates, including the retiring Congressman Mike Michaud of the Second District!

“If Paul LePage’s reelection wasn’t a wake-up call to Maine Democrats, this poll should be,” said Mike Cuzzi, a former Obama campaign staffer and Democratic political consultant based in Maine.

Forty percent of respondents said they had a favorable impression of LePage in the survey, conducted a week after he openly mulled resigning following an inflammatory, expletive-laden voice mail he left for a state lawmaker. LePage is an ardent Trump supporter.

He was an ardent Christie supporter first, though. The article forgets to mention that.

“Democrats here in Maine have struggled to connect with the core of Trump and LePage voters, which is generally white, rural, working-class men,” Cuzzi said. “In more populated states, Democrats can overcompensate for that with diversity in cities, but if you struggle with that group in Maine, you have a real problem.”

The Democratic Party has turned into a hyper-urban elitist political faction out of touch with the pressing concerns of American citizens. In many cases, Democratic policies have targeted and benefited the wealthy and well-connected, while ignoring the well-being and best interests of working class people, not just "white" people.

The ongoing irrelevance of the progressive Democrats should hint at how much they have distanced their once loyal constituents. These are still plenty of Reagan Democrats out there, and many of them are taking one more step to become Republicans!

Governor LePage's policies also contributed to creating a state community of workers, makers, and hard-hitting taskmasters. Men and women cannot come to Maine looking for a handout, either, which has further depressed the Democratic turnout.

Most people forget that a Democratic governor named John Baldacci had served as governor before LePage, and turned Maine into a sanctuary STATE for illegal aliens!

The current governor told all the moochers "Get off of welfare and get a job!"

He was the precursor to the brazen brand of in-your-face politicking so needed in this country, too!

Bruce Poliquin's upset in the Second District during the 2014 election also signaled that New Englanders are getting tired of the destructive Democratic dominance and taking on Republican leadership, all for the better for them!

All of this bodes very well for Donald Trump, who has responded to the deep-set, deeply rooted anxieties of many Americans---not just the white ones!

ICYMI: Equal Rights, Not Special Rights: Maine MassResistance Fights LGBT Bigotry

Liberty is not defined by special rights.

Liberty is about limiting the scope and arbitrary reach of the state into our daily lives.

Pretty basic.

But the homosexual agenda now demands special rights claiming that their behaviors or their perceived status justify demanding preferential treatment.

This is a rainbow colored form of apartheid,

And its wrong.

That's not what this country was founded upon.

Individuals who engage in consensual behaviors behind closed doors need to keep those behaviors to themselves.

Why does everyone else have to accommodate the specific behaviors of the few and therefore sacrifice the same natural rights which belong to all?

Maine MassResistance is standing up to this special interest bigotry.

In a press conference last month, the pro-family group took the brave stance of stripping from the state constitution the special rights offered to homosexuals.

Here's a report from the main MassResistance website:

MassResistance’s Maine affiliate, led by Rev. Mike Heath and Paul Madore, struck the first blow in their upcoming state-wide referendum effort to repeal the state’s LGBT law. On July 8 they held a press conference in the rotunda of the Maine State House. It was covered by the (sometimes fuming) mainstream Maine media, and was even reported in some Boston media.

Speaking as the “No Special Rights PAC,” the official ballot committee set up for the referendum effort, the group boldly outlined its goals to defeat the LGBT agenda in Maine.

One key element in the pro-family fight: we are not intimidate by the smears and spin of the liberal media. There is no need to hide the truth. If the reporters want to play the bigotry card, then we need to fight back with our indictment of the real bigots: the LBGT lobby and their destructive agenda!

Behavior is not a right, and same-sex conduct does not have the authority to claim civil right status.

"No Special Rights" needs to be the mantra. There is no balancing the truth with the lie. There is no victory in the pro-family movement to continue playing defense against offensive behavior.

Michael Heath
Notice the editorializing of the media: "gay rights"
HUH?!

Michael Heath, the leader of the "No Special Rights PAC" announced clear convictions and integrated intentions:

"Tens of millions of people all over the globe are waking up to the danger. They are becoming aware of the fact that this force isn’t just interested in changing the sign on Target’s bathroom doors. They see that as only the latest in a long train of abuses …

Finally! Someone has the courage to call out the militant homosexuals for systematic attacks on nature and society. Enough already!

"We can restore equal rights for all of our citizens while finally destroying the lie of special rights.  Only ordered liberty can protect everyone from the same fate suffered by bakers, photographers and innocent school children.  Equal rights for all.  Special sexual orientation rights for none.

How about that? If we really respect eual rights for all, that means no special rights, no special privileges--for anyone!

In fact, one of the Founding Fathers established this necessary principle: Thomas Jefferson.

"Very simply, this moves behaviors that belongs in the closet, back into the closet. People are tired of having these pushed in their faces and being punished if they don’t submit."

Thank you again, Mike!

We the People of the United States embrace domestic tranquility.

What the LGBT bullies what? Domestic dominance and tyranny for anyone who does not agree with them.

This is wrong.

This lady from Nebraska MassResistance confronted the arrogant Omaha Public School board with a similar set of frustrations, and clear boundaries:

"I just want to know ... when is enough going to be enough?!"

My sentiments exactly.

No more "special rights" travesties!

Natural rights and equal rights, but no more artificial, special privileges!

Citizens, Christians, conservatives of all backgrounds, it's time to step up and stop the LGBT abuse!

Maine MassResistance Fights Back in the Culture Wars

I am now an active member of MassResistance.

California MassResistance is not the first out-of-state chapter, though.

Virginia MassResistance opened up, and there is a Maine chapter, too, with active pro-family members who don't stop resisting the Big Gay Hate Machine.

How do many homosexual activists impose their agenda onto private firms?

Non-discrimination clauses, which recognize "sexual orientation" as an identity.

It's a behavior, and a good culture, and healthy communities discriminate behaviors all the time.

Good parents raising godly children help them to choose what is good.

Discrimination for behaviors should not be removed or pushed away, but welcomed and respected

Find out what Maine MassResistance doing to stop the imposition of the homosexual agenda on our society:

The newest MassResistance affiliate is going for the jugular of the LGBT movement – the “non-discrimination” laws that they leverage so well.

We need to stop tinkering around the edges.

Pro-family forces need to stop holding onto whatever territory they have left.

It's time to take back the ground which rightly belongs to all of us.

As we all have seen, the LGBT movement uses the “sexual orientation” (and now “gender identity”) non-discrimination state laws (and local ordinances) as their first line of attack to push their agenda into schools, businesses, government, and other institutions of society.

Fine.

Let's get rid of these pernicious codes.

Maine MassResistance is on the job.

Last September Mike [Heath] formed the group “Equal Rights, Not Special Rights” to bring the battle statewide yet again. Brian Camenker of MassResistance is on its Advisory Board. Mike has also been bringing together dedicated activists from across Maine. This month the group became a new affiliate of MassResistance!

In addition, since leaving the League, Mike has become an ordained Christian minister – fighting kind, not the bland social-worker type that permeate so many of the churches these days. It’s refreshing just to be around him, say many committed Christians.

The fighting kind, not the compliant, supine kind.

Check out this incredible verse of scripture:

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." (Jude 3)

It's not play time or run-away time. It's time to stand!

Mike Heath (left) readies the referendum

Starting in late 2015, Mike began putting together the plan for another statewide referendum to remove “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” from the Maine non-discrimination statute.

In March he and his group officially filed the papers and created a separate No Special Rights PAC. The ball was rolling!

Perspective is crucial in this fight. Maine is not a purple state, but a blue state. Thankfully, liberal Democratic infighting have encouraged strong anti-Establishment Republicans like Paul LePage to gain power in the state, and they in turn fight for clear-cut, pro-family values.

Bruce Poliquin was elected to the Second Congressional District, too: first pro-life and pro-family Congressman in the Pine Tree  State.

Unlike most Republicans, Paul LePage kicks butt, and doesn't pull punches. He fights and wins.

So does Mike Heath!

The media went crazy, and the LGBT activists are terrified, too.

Heath punched back and published the following:

No one can claim that ours is a virtuous society. The public looks with suspicion at each and every presidential candidate. One candidate is seen as boastful and proud, an abuser of women. Rumors of infidelity swirl about another candidate. Yet another is distrusted for wrongdoing in an official capacity.

And if we peer into the many deep cracks and fissures that now rend the fabric of our society — the opposition of left versus right, rich versus poor, man versus woman — we will see that our society has been poisoned at the root. The life-giving root of society is of course the relationship between man and woman on which the propagation and proper ordering of society depends. [Bold letters mine]

For that reason, I have spent a lifetime defending the proposition that all sex outside of marriage is immoral. I vigorously opposed and will continue to oppose such concepts as sexual liberation, gay marriage, polyamory, pansexuailty and the “hook up culture.”

The break-down of our culture stems from the destruction of the family. Sex outside of marriage is not just destructive for the people directly engaged, but for communities as a whole. The disregard for proper relations are tearing apart the fundamental fabric of our society.

Sadly, this is not a new story. Polybius the Greco-Roman historian witnessed the en masse implosion of the Greek city states because of the expansion of the state and the decimation of individual--familial--virtue.

Heath drives the deeper point home about the perverse Obergefell decision, which forced homosexual marriage on the entire country:

The decision in the Obergefell case was not merely incoherent; it was utterly and thoroughly perverse in the original meaning of that word — “twisted.” Extending a nonexistent right for members of the same sex to marry, in combination with a so-called gay rights law, has the effect of robbing the people of the United States of the most fundamental right of all, the right to act in accordance with one’s conscience.

The majority opinion in the case redefined liberty into a subtle form of slavery.

The Supreme Court majority opinion ignored biology, legal precedent, and the United States Constitution in order to create this terrible amalgam of marriage.

Heath has the courage to reject this nonsense. Heath has spoken out against "gay rights," which are neither gay nor rights.

It's time to repeal the "sexual orientation" protections in civil laws. Behaviors are not a right, and it's time for tyrannical special interests to act and demand otherwise.
