Bannon Makes Peace with Establishment ... for Now

This is RealPolitik, pure and simple.

It's good to see that even the hard-core conservative populists are waking up to the fact that we cannot have a strong, conservative agenda continue without Republicans who will vote for some or all of the agenda.

Having Democrats take over the House would lead to nothing but obstruction, obstruction, obstruction from the regressive left. Bear in mind that crazy, left-wing forces have already infiltrated the Democratic caucus, with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and also Ayanna Pressley.

The Democratic caucus is going to be even more split, even more left-wing.

So, whether we like it or not, we need to vote Republican. As much as possible we need to send more members of the President's party to Congress to ensure the further enactment of our President, and our, agenda.

Bannon says right must support ‘RINOs’

President Trump’s controversial former chief strategist Stephen Bannon is making an uneasy peace with the Republican establishment as he returns to the battlefield for the midterm elections.

This will not last long, and it should not last long.

Bannon, who made his name as a populist firebrand eager to attack GOP leaders in Washington, is now urging Trump loyalists to hold their noses — even if the party’s candidate in their district is someone they might deride as a Republican In Name Only, or RINO.

Citing one example, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), Bannon told The Hill, “One of the things we have to convince people of is, it doesn’t matter that Pete Sessions is a RINO. He’s a vote for Donald Trump and that’s all you have to think about. And not just, you have to vote for him — you’re going to have to go out and work a precinct, and ring doorbells, and do a phone bank for him.”

This firebrand got behind Judge Roy Moore in Alabama. More people have started to realize that they are called "The Establishment" for a reason. They have established means, resources, and a clear-cut game plan. They know how to work the precincts and the polling stations. They understand that the media is savage and destructive, but they need to realize that they media can be beaten at their own game, too.

Sessions' campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Bannon was speaking with The Hill to coincide with the release of his new film “Trump @ War,” a 70-minute, unabashedly pro-Trump documentary that is intended to fire up the president’s base in advance of the midterm elections.

Yes, let's face it. Sloppy Steve wants to make a big name for himself again. After hearing some of the frustration from other White House staffers about Bannon, that he was out for himself and taking credit for what the President and other members of his team had accomplished during the campaign, Trump and company had had enough.

Other sources, including those who had worked with him at Breitbart News before he became a campaign strategist for the Trump campaign. I share his common commitment to protecting and promoting the United States, as a country is far more than an economy.

Our nation is a civil and civic order worth fighting for, worth protecting at all costs.

Bannon claimed the movie cost between $1.5 million and $2 million to make — funds he said came primarily from “a couple of big donors” as well as out of his own pocket.

That's a pretty slim budget for a film. I hope that his documentary gets some kind of traction.

The movie got its first national airing on the conservative One America News Network on Wednesday night. Bannon says he is planning to screen it at rallies in crucial districts, “in union halls and church basements,” in the run up to Election Day on Nov. 6.

Great idea. We are finally seeing conservatives and pro-American activists taking on the culture wars, not just the political wars, to win for the short-term and the long-term. This is the kind of activity that was needed during all the previous Republican administrations bent on creating a conservative pro-American civic order once again.

Yet if Bannon is willing to make nice toward the establishment he once targeted, he is candid that he is doing so only to maximize the chances of the president’s party holding onto its House majority.    

“Look, I detest the Republican establishment and they detest me. I got it. I’m fine with that,” he told The Hill. “That’s a fight for a different day.”

Sometimes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We better get the wall, though. We better get all the other parts of Trump's very clear-cut America First Agenda passed into law as soon as possible.

Bannon was a pivotal figure in the final stretch of Trump’s 2016 campaign but he departed the White House after just seven months, soon after John Kelly replaced Reince Priebus as chief of staff.

Would the Hill like to go one step further and just admit that it was John Kelly who had Bannon removed from the White House. That sure seems like the argument that they are trying to form. Not sure if I believe it, however. One of the "Blockbuster" books that went public exposing the Trump White House suggested that he was leaking information to the press.

Not very professional or statesmanlike, almost as though Bannon was only thinking about ... Bannon.

He was sent into deeper exile by Trump after the publication of Michael Wolff’s book, “Fire and Fury,” at the start of this year. Various unflattering quotes, including some about Trump family members, were ascribed to Bannon. Trump mocked his former lieutenant as “Sloppy Steve” and said he had “lost his mind.”

But the strategist has remained a news-making, polarizing figure.

Critics accuse him of stoking outright racism — a charge that Bannon fiercely denies.

It's not true. Period. The race card is a useless fraud at this point, a shameless, desperate ploy for a shameful, despairing political order.

Earlier this month, The New Yorker magazine scheduled a public interview between its editor, David Remnick, and Bannon as part of its annual festival. After an outcry from celebrities and some staff members, the invite was rescinded. Bannon called the decision “gutless.”

During Bannon’s tenure in the White House, internal enemies blamed him for fomenting division.

This suppression of open dialogue and debate begins and ends with the left. Steve Bannon was willing to appear in a forum promoted by They New Yorker magazine. The outrage from the SJW glitterati was stunning and disgusting all at once. As much as many conservatives feel like "Sloppy Steve" was out for himself during and after the 2016 Election, his presence within the Trump campaign made all the difference, and no one should dismiss any of that.

But he sees a measure of vindication in Bob Woodward’s new book, “Fear”, which includes scenes in which figures including Secretary of Defense James Mattis and former economic adviser Gary Cohn work to thwart Trump’s wishes. 

Breitbart was all over the conniving actions of Gary Cohn, a full-on globalist, along with Henry McMaster, who is thankfully gone for good. Henry McMaster is gone, as well. As for James Mattis, he has fought for this country in combat many times. Mattis can second-guess the President as often as he needs to, in my opinion. I trust Mattis enough on these matters.

Trump and his administration have bombed the hell out of ISIS.

The Korean peninsula has been steadily denuclearized. Our allies respect us and our enemies fear us once again. Mattis can criticize and take steps when necessary that will differ with the President. I would further add that Trump's decision to prolong our presence in Afghanistan needs review. We have been in that country for 17 years. It's time to move on.

We need a clear-cut, effective exit strategy. There must be a better way than to tolerate non-stop incursions against American troops in the Afghan wasteland.

Bannon argues that Woodward’s reporting supports his view that a cabal within the administration has been undermining the president.

Mattis is a good man, though. His efforts are sound and in line with proper policy, in my view.

“You basically have…a coup,” Bannon said, referring sarcastically to “the Committee to Save America, which was that group of [Rex] Tillerson and [James] Mattis and [John] Kelly and [Gary] Cohn.”

Bannon no longer speaks directly with Trump, even though he remains connected to others in the president’s circle.

That's all for the best. The populist movement requires winning elections, and it is essential that Republicans get into office, even if they are establishment leaning.

Detractors will see the movie as part of an effort to put himself back into Trump’s good graces.

The same goes for the outside group he is now spearheading, Citizens of the American Republic. Bannon claims the group has a 25-person “war room” and is already ramping up its efforts, animated by his belief that Trump faces near-certain impeachment if Democrats take the House.

We need the war room to come to California. I don't care if Bannon is pushing Trump's agenda for himself, for the country, or for both causes. All of that is fine with me. Bannon's conservative populism means a great deal to me.

“The White House, to be honest, on the political side I think is a little slow off the mark. I don’t see the sense of urgency at the campaign, I don’t see the sense of urgency at the White House, and I think there is a huge sense of urgency,” he said.

There needs to be a sense that all of it could be gone in one election. We need clear majorities in both chambers of Congress to ensure that Trump's agenda is not unfairly dragged down. A whole bunch of establishment-lite Republicans have dropped out or have been pushed out of office. Let's hope that freedom-minded, MAGA-minded conservatives take over.

Having once predicted that the GOP could lose more than 50 seats in the House, Bannon has recently been expressing greater confidence.

But he also says there are crucial differences that make success in the midterms a steeper climb than was the case even in Trump’s White House bid.

Referring to Democrat Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, Bannon said, “One of the biggest advantages we had [was that] they didn’t take us seriously. They thought Trump was a clown. One of the biggest things we had was the ability to sneak up on them.

Right. Very good observation.

“That’s not happening now,” he added. “This thing won’t be stolen from anybody, You won’t steal a march. You’ll have to grind it out.”

Final Reflection

So, where do we go from here?

Republicans need to get energized if they are not energized now. We cannot sit this out. We should not let our small-time disappointments with the current Congress depress us into not voting, not going to the polls and making a difference.

It is essential that Republicans remember that Congressional elections and US Senate elections are all about getting the most support for the President and his agenda. Yes, I want the wall built. Yes, I want Obamacare repealed. I want to see leadership and conservative reforms rolling out in a fashion like never before.

The President has implemented a number of good policies and fulfilled many of his promises. Yes, there is so much more work to be done. We aren't going to get anywhere near those final goals if we lose either chamber of Congress to the Democratic Party.

Bannon is right to call a truce with the GOP Establishment. The US Senate caucus is crucial to ensure solid judicial nominees to all the federal court vacancies. We cannot lose this. If Democrats take over the House, expect articles of impeachment. Expect them to send over massive spending bills.

What's worse, weak Republicans heading for the 2020 cycle in the US Senate will likely go along with some of these really crappy proposals. We must, must, must hold the House and the US Senate.

Fight for this country, and get out there and vote!

Senate Conservatives Fund: YUGE Victory in West Virginia for MAGA Agenda

I can't withhold my joy following the May 8th, 2018 primaries in four states:

1. Indiana
2. North Carolina
3. Ohio
4. West Virginia

The US Senate GOP primary in West Virginia was not only contentious, but worrisome. Would establishment candidate Evan Jenkins make it? What about that Blakenship guy, a convicted felon who had violated mining laws and endangered the lives of his workers?

The best candidate was -- and it -- Patrick Morrisey. A conservative, concerned citizen, and well-read attorney general is the best candidate going forward to fight for working West Virginians.

But ... within days of the primary, it looked as if the convicted felon was going to win the primary. The shock poll had everyone worried.

But ... Morrisey pulled it off!

Now, what about Joe Manchin, the embattled incumbent?

Well, he was facing a primary challenge from the left, a Bernie-crat socialist who wanted the government to do more for the hurting West Virginians, when government excesses are causing the rising poverty and privation.

Men need work, and Washington DC has spent more time undermining the working classes and backbone industries which have made America great and kept the country independent from foreign influence and intervention.

Manchin won his primary, but with 60% of the vote. Nearly 40% of West Virginia Democrats wanted someone else besides Manchin. This guy is not only facing a tough general election, but it looks as though the state is going to become a GOP sweep from top to bottom.

There is no way Manchin can survive now, especially with a candidate so well-liked by the President and the manifold coalition of Trump supporters who define West Virginia today.

The Trump Agenda Will Make Southeast LA County Great Again

For the past two weeks, I have connected with Grassroots leaders activists and homeowners throughout the Southeast LA County Community. I'm talking about cities like Huntington Park, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, and the unincorporated section called Walnut Park. In the 1950's and 1960's, these cities were shimmering glorious communities. Homeownership, clean streets, high quality of life. These were communities which were the Envy of others throughout Los Angeles County and even the state. What happened?

Much of these working-class communities dependent on manufacturing die making furniture making jobs in these areas. Bad trade deals onerous regulations push these manufacturing jobs out of the Southeast LA area. Throughout the Southeast LA and the industrial tract in South Los Angeles, Goodyear, Firestone, another man your major manufacturing plants and firms were turning out product for the masses throughout the country. But when these factories closed due to Innovation, bad trade deals, and Regulatory burdens, along with them went the working-class communities which it forms the backbone for these cities.

Who ended up moving into these areas? Large migrant communities, which were focused on service and agriculture, moved in. And with them came the large Democratic voter franchise. They voted for more government, they voted for more subsidies welfare Etc. And what ended up happening was a large and growing morass of illegal aliens in these areas.

The quality of life diminished terribly, and the rise of crime and the diminution of the well-being of the area induced many more Property Owners to leave the area, and what kind of their place was more illegals, going for the under the table jobs, connecting with the MS-13 gangs, and the corrupt politicians who lie to them play the race card, and would induce Conflict by playing off their illegal status.

President Trump address three key issues in his campaign. One was Public Safety, the next was illegal immigration, and the last had to do with the bad trade deals which have eviscerated American Commerce and Manufacturing. Public Safety is on everybody's mind, particularly because of terrorism and gang violence. The gang violence connects to Illegal immigration which in turn has ruined the quality of life and her job opportunities and future prospects for Citizens and legal residents at General. Cracking down on illegal immigration has ensured more safety and these regions. Major institutions like The Bicycle Casino have been rated twice by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I also wasn't Maywood, and they picked up the illegal aliens in El Monte and other areas throughout the Southeast LA and San Gabriel Valley areas.

But now it's time to address the manufacturing base which is been decimated, and what president Trump's agenda can do to bring those jobs back. A lumber mill just opened up in the city of Torrance, and other manufacturing firms have brought their jobs back and putting a tent making company. What do we need to do to bring back the tire manufacturing, or the die making, or to bring in manufacturing which focuses on computer electronics? What about car manufacturing? How about battery making and other manufacturing Industries. There are plenty of opportunities to make industry great again throughout the Southeast LA area, and it's time for local leaders to take every step they can to bring back quality trade and technical jobs so that the larger and growing worker and middle-income earners of Hispanic or black Heritage will find work again and find their prospects great again.

Virginia and New Jersey: Wake-Up Call for the MAGA Agenda

When Mitt Romney lost in 2012—yes, he was a viable and tolerable contender for me, since he had announced “self-deport!” to illegal aliens and promised to repeal Obamacare—I cried. I hugged my Dad, I was so distraught. I was convinced that Obama’s litany of failures and scandals would have spelled his doom. Unfortunately, working and middle-income Americans were turned off to what they perceived as a tuned-out elitist.

I felt a similar sorrow after the Virginia and New Jersey elections results, especially Virginia. I really thought Gillespie would pull it off. Unlike some Establishment types, he seemed to have learned his lesson, embraced the core Trump issues—immigration, public safety, American pride. He had done well in 2014, nearly clinching the US Senate race against Mark Warner in an epic GOP wave year.

What happened this time? Unlike Democratic holdovers and progressive pundits, I want to learn from the mistakes and the setbacks of failing elections, outreach, messaging, and attention to core issues to do better. No one can expect to Make America Great Again if we don’t understand why the voters do not turn out to make that dream a reality.

Ann Coulter had her healthy, witty spin on this Deep Water Democratic tide: The leftists win the war of ideas through demographic change: immigrants and re-enfranchised felons. More takers, fewer makers, and voila! You have A Democratic tyranny in the once-stable constitutional Republic. That pretty much describes what is happening in Virginia, and what has been happening by and large in New Jersey for a long time.

Let me dispense with my own ruminations on New Jersey first. Governor Chris Christie outlined what was probably going to happen. For the last eight years, Trenton had been saying “No! No! No!” to every major special interest in the state. People want more services; they want more goodies from the government. The takers had indeed taken over in key urban regions, and they are swinging elections like never before. Kim Guadagno was dragged down by Christie’s bad numbers, too.

For me, the saddest, strangest part about New Jersey is that Hillary Clinton with man parts won this seat: Phil Murphy, the big money financier from Goldman Sachs who promised to pamper the public sector unions. He also ran on a platform of turning New Jersey into a sanctuary state for illegal aliens, even after sensational illegal alien crimes had occurred one week prior. Defiance of federal law is destructive social justice warrior virtue-signaling at its worst. And yet, New Jersey voters gave up security for freebies. Their property taxes will skyrocket, and then they will watch what happens when Trenton powerbrokers run out of other people’s money (hint, hint: Detroit 2013).

OK, Guadagno was a long-shot, I know, but still: when your next chief executive says he will protect illegal from deportation, the same illegals who murder and rape your fellow citizens, one would think that voters would decide to go with “the other candidate.” Didn’t happen.

Now, on to Virginia.

I connected with Virginia activist and Central Committee member Fredy Burgos. He announced to me what other conservatives had shared: they were more anti-Northam than pro-Gillespie. Why? Gillespie was too much of the Swamp, the Establishment which has enraged Republican voters for decades. To make matters worse, Gillespie had turned up the Trumped-up rhetoric, but wanted to do it without Trump. One source share with me that a false poll had circulated weeks before the June primary showing pro-Trump Corey Stewart losing by 19 points to Gillespie. On primary day, Gillespie was only 1% ahead. WHAT?!

Sure, Gillespie started talking MAGA, but he didn’t wear it like a fine, fitting suit. Trump tweeted for him. Bannon stumped for him, but Gillespie campaigned with … George W. Bush. There’s the nail in the coffin. I reached out to two other sources on this Virginia fallout for their take. Robin Hvidston of We the People Rising and California Director for the Remembrance Project commented: “Both New Jersey and Virginia are blue states and were expected to elect Democrat candidates … one reason Ed Gillespie lost was because he distanced himself from President Donald Trump and his push to Make America Great Again.”

Willies Lee, the newly elected President of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies, himself a native-born Virginian who witnessed the stark pro-Democratic demographic reshuffling in the Alexandria region, commented: “Our loss in Virginia demonstrates the need for our conservative Republican Assembly to be involved in those states, especially in the down-ticket races. Voters need the stark contrast of a conservative versus their far-left progressive candidates.” I never thought of Gillespie as a RINO, but voters sure did (just like Romney). Their opinions matter, not mine, and the rural ruby red sections of the state did not turn out in larger numbers for Gillespie. In many cases they skipped the top of the ticket, but voted for the rest of the slate! 

Final thoughts: These losses are not a repudiation of Trump’s agenda, but a reminder that if Republicans don’t deliver, they will get scuttled. Democrats are galvanized to stop Trump, and they are doubling down since their once-reliable institutions—national sports, the mainstream media, and academia—are failing.

Republican voters—especially millions of newly registered Republicans in the Rust Belt—are not just voting for the “R”. They want the real, red-meat reforms that leave more money in their pockets, place their interests first, and drain the greedy, grimy Swamp which has drained their life and individual sovereignty. Republican voters are not going to hold their noses for so-so RINOs, and Independents who want a better America will vote for “the other guy” just to spite our guys when they don’t deliver, even males with active gender dysphoria who promise to fix the traffic problems in your district.

The Virginia Blue wave is a potential precursor for Democratic gains next year. Republicans need to get with Trump’s agenda or lose big time in 2018.

The Bleeding Deacons: Why Political Movements Suffer

There is a lot of division within movements.

The mainstream media likes to play up the divisions about Republicans, since they are so liberal, so committed to the regressive Left and their destructive agenda.

They attack free-market innovations like Uber and Lyft. They also cover bad stories related to AirBnb. The anti-capitalist bent of my newspapers and editorial pages should alarm anyone looking for something close to objectivity.

The truth is, however, that the Democratic Party is so riven with division, one has to wonder if they will survive after the next election cycle. Will there even be a viable candidate running for President in 2020? Remember that the Democratic Party was so weak in Alabama in 2014 that former US Senator Jeff Sessions ran unopposed!

Now he is the Attorney General, and the contested primary run-off is so heated, that millions of campaign dollars have been pouring into the Yellowhammer State to fix not just the fate of the state, but the contour of the Republican Party.

So, what is it about political movements that divisions arise?

What I have discovered is that the Old Guard vs. the New Guard get into fights over pre-eminence.

There are activists who have been fighting on the front lines for an extended period of time, but then a new crop of activists and fighters show up. They want to strike out on their own or make a difference as they see fit. They chafe under the rules and expectations imposed by the Old Guard.

But something else is happening. In the Trump movement particularly, men and women new to the fight are getting more done. They have connections to social media, to Internet skill sets which the previous activists, especially those fighting illegal immigration, did not have before.

Instead of learning from the new to enhance their experience, the Old Guard get bitter.

We can find another way of looking at this establishment arrogance in an idea from the otherwise discredited cult of Alcoholics Anonymous. From the Urban Dictionary:

In the context of a 12-step program like Alcoholics Anonymous, a bleeding deacon is someone in the group who is overly preachy and considers themselves to be the lone voice of reason and source of wisdom. In the eyes of the bleeding deacon, the group would fall apart without them.

Alcoholic 1: "Randy really droned on for a while about the eighth step -- I get it, we're supposed to make direct amends. Sheesh."

Alcoholic 2: "Yeah, he's a real bleeding deacon."

A Biblical example of this sad human failing appears in 1 Kings 19, when Elijah becomes self-righteous and despairing, then complains to God that he is the only one fighting for Him in the midst of an evil, perverse nation given over to idol worship and Satanic lawlessness.

God rebukes Elijah:

Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him." (1 Kings 19:18)

In short order, God then instructs Elijah to complete three tasks, but he only finishes one: the anointing of his successor Elisha. This second prophet is  picture of the New Covenant. Never once does Elisha trust in his own efforts, but rather depends on the double portion of God's grace and blessing.

He brings dead children back to life and helps feed thousands. He has a posture of rest and refreshment, whereas Elijah ministered condemnation and death.

The point of this account in relation to this post? The moment that any man thinks that he is indispensable to a movement, he brings conflict then inadvertently ushers in his own replacement.

This arrogance is stifling among the Old Guard. They are absolutely convinced that everything good that has happened before, during, and after in any conservative movement is all due to their efforts.

Such thinking, however, is simply untrue. 

I think of the 2010 Tea Party compared to the Trump Movement of today. I even attended a few Tea Party rallies leading up to the 2010 election. They spent a lot of time rallying votes and holding parades. That was great.

But the veneer of political correctness still hung heavy over the country. The need for confrontation with bad politicians at the local as well as the state and federal offices had not begun.

Then came President Trump, and before that the terrible, arrogant, anti-constitutional agenda of Barack Obama. Not just Obamacare, but the steady drum-beat demands to undermine life, family, the Second Amendment, and worst of all immigration--all of these incursions against our country and our culture pushed people to get off their butts and fight, not just rally on sidewalks and street corners.

Marc Langsam, a photographer in Ventura County, has said that people like me, Harim Uzziel, and Robin Hvidston are "The New Tea Party", because we are taking the Trump fight and agenda to historically Democratic communities. If Donald Trump could do it--and win--why can't we?

The Bleeding Deacons of the conservative establishment want all the name recognition and power. They want to rest on their laurels, too (another phrase from Alcoholics Anonymous). We need people who are more interesting accomplishing major wins, not just hanging onto previous victories!

Because of the uncalled for rancor from one Bleeding Deacon, I wrote out the following letter, letting him know how disappointing he had become, and how the movement to Make America Great Again exceeds the efforts of anyone person.

To R---- O-----:

I am saddened at your bitter hatred. Now you choose to lie about me. I have been an activist and freelance journalist for the past two years -- and people have provided me funding to continue to do what I do. I do not engage with wicked people and push against illegal immigration, LGBT perversities, etc. in order to get paid. This is just what I do. I fight against this anti-American corruption, and people provide me resources so that I can continue to do this. Would you call Joseph Turner, Robin Hvidston, or anyone else paid protesters, too? Shame on you.. You have chosen to lie, and now I confront you. This is to your shame. The narcissism falls on you. Reminder - I was not wearing political colors and I was recording the event for the world to see -- my Facebook Live video provided the first record of what happened at Chicano Park -- WE set the narrative, not the corrupt media, and the Brown Supremacists have the black eye now. They had to play defense for the indefensible, hateful behavior of the Chicano mob which threatened to kill us!

By the way -- I can go to any national park I wish to R---- O----- You have neither right nor authority to tell me NOT to go somewhere or anywhere. Once again -- who is the narcissist?

I am not surprised that everyone has walked away from you. You are a selfish man who is easily hurt--and you even cursed at me, saying "F--k you!", when I had shared with others that you helped expose Huntington Park. I am half your age, R------, yet you act like such a child. I am saddened at your moral decline, R-----.

With these remarks, I let you go, as I maintain God's gracious promise in the face of your unjust slander (Isaiah 54:17).
