CAPS: Join the Resistance to CA Sanctuary State Lawlessness

ACTION ALERT – CALIFORNIANS—join the resistance to Sacramento’s sanctuary state policies! Call your local officials.
Communities in California are resisting Sacramento’s efforts to offer sanctuary to criminal aliens. To date:
·         Orange County supervisors voted to join the federal lawsuit against California’s sanctuary state legislation that prohibits law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration-enforcement officers.
·         Shasta County officials approved a resolution to declare that the county complies with federal immigration laws and is not a sanctuary county.
·         Los Alamitos council members passed a measure to exempt the city from SB 54, and instead to “honor our oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
·         Barred by California from honoring detainer requests from ICE, the Orange County sheriff’s department announced it would publish an online database of the time of release of all inmates. The sheriff’s office said the action was “a response to SB 54 limiting our ability to communicate with federal authorities and our concern that criminals are being released to the street when there’s another avenue to safeguard the community by handing them over.”

Call or email your local officials and ask them to join the resistance to a sanctuary state.  Counties and cities generally have websites that provide contact information for supervisors and council members.
There are at least a couple of actions that local governments can take:
-          Pass a resolution opposing SB 54 and stating that local officials must comply with federal law.
-          Join the federal lawsuit against California or file a friend of the court brief—a relatively inexpensive option—in support of the suit.

Contact your county supervisors and city council members to oppose sanctuary policies and to protect your community. Be sure to thank those officials who are supportive!

Thank you for your support!  Please consider a gift of any amount to support CAPS in continuing our fight against sanctuary policy!: CLICK HERE TO DONATE

Of Course! Americans Want Massive Reductions in Legal Immigration

Here is a statement for Californians for Population Control.

They have published results from a new poll about Americans' attitudes toward immigration and immigration reform.

At this time, I am not fully endorsing Securing America's Future Act, only because any steps toward granting legal status to any group of illegals will open the door to more illegal immigration.

All the other listed reforms and policy changes are excellent.

For now, here is the latest statement and eblast from CAPS:
Dear Jeff,

THIS JUST IN!!!:
Harvard-Harris poll reveals that 81 percent of voters want tocut legal immigration, and 63 percent want to reduce immigration by at least half to less than 500,000 per year.  By a margin of almost 2 to 1, voters support a DACA deal that also eliminates the visa lottery, and funds "barrier security" on the border. This position receives majority supports from every group-Democrats and Republicans; Liberals and Conservatives; Blacks, Whites, and Hispanics.

Tell Congress to PASS HR 4760, the Securing America's Future Act of 2018!

HR 4760 by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) would:

  • eliminate the visa lottery
  • cut chain migration
  • add mandatory E-Verify
  • increase border security
  • end sanctuary cities
  • provide the 700,000 DACA recipients with a three-year renewable legal status
  • no automatic paths to citizenship

Tell your Representative and Senators about the Harvard poll showing Americans want reduced immigration. Tell them that any DACA deal must include mandatory E-verify, border security, ending chain migration, and halting the visa lottery. Tell them to support HR 4760:

TAKE ACTION NOW

Thank you for joining CAPS during this critical time for American workers, and the future of California and the US!!

CAPS: Demand that Trump Repeal DACA Now!

Dear Arthur,

News reports have indicated that President Trump could finally fulfill his campaign promise and terminate Obama's DACA executive amnesty, but he is facing pushback from big business and open-border groups. They have deluged the White House with calls and messages in support of the DACA program.

Call the White House at 202-456-1111 and express your support for ending the DACA amnesty!

You can also send a message to President Trump online at: https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

Ten attorneys general have issued an ultimatum, threatening to sue the administration over DACA unless the program is rescinded. The attorneys general called DACA "unlawful" and said it "unilaterally confers eligibility for work authorization ... and lawful presence without any statutory authorization from Congress." Trump has called the DACA amnesty illegal and unconstitutional on several occasions.

Remind the President of his promise. Call the White House comment line at 202-456-1111 and tell President Trump to end DACA.

Thank you for taking the time to contact The White House and support all Americans on these crucial issues.

Sincerely,

Toby Nicole White, Public Affairs Coordinator
P.S.   If you have any questions or encounter any problems sending this message please contact CAPS at (805) 564-6626 or publicaffairs@capsweb.org to let us know.
