Warren Buffet's wealth has turned him from an eccentric tycoon into an excessive charity-man. Now he is egging on Congressional Republicans, offering to pay three dollars for every dollar contributed by Congress to defray the gargantuan national debt eating away at our country.
We do not need individuals to donate money to the national debt. We need the federal government to stop spending money which it does not have in the first place!
Where do these millionaires and billionaires get the idea that they need to get rid of the money that they spend as fast as they make it? There is nothing wrong with making money, there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve one's lot with capital
Instead of donating one's funds to the defunct state, why not invest the money in creating more jobs and more wealth? Individuals working, spending, and saving would foster economic recovery, not salvaging the spendthrift state.
The biggest obstacle to job creation and economic growth, of course, is the federal government, instigated by state governments' hemorrhaging billions from unfunded pension liabilities. With multi-trillion dollar debts ballooning into a financial Armageddon, a billionaire's bland offer to help paper over this massive debt is like putting a band-aid on a victim who has heedlessly stepped on a landmine and exploded into irreparable pieces.
Wealthy men like Warren Buffet need to stop trying to make headlines with empty offers of fruitless charity. Stop giving to the Leviathan government, stop giving into the nonsense that the American people have not given enough to the state, and stop taking the media off the real issue-Big Government getting bigger, without an sense or sanity.
