Yes on Prop 6, Repeal the Gas Tax Meeting, Torrance (Photos and Video)

Former San Diego City Councilman and Congressional candidate came up to Torrance, CA to help rally the troops for the repeal of the hateful, dreaded gas tax, the car tax, and the passage of a constitutional amendment to ensure that the state could never raise the gas tax again without vote consent first.

The room was filled up with no chairs to spare, and yet people continued to attend.

Keep in mind that this meeting took place on Monday afternoon. It is very difficult to get people to do anything political on a Monday mid-morning or afternoon.

But there we were.

There is a lot of momentum to repeal the gas tax.

The Reform California movement got rid of State Senator Josh Newman.

Now we need to repeal this dreaded gas tax.

Then we will start knocking out all the other state senators who plowed the average California worker with higher taxes and fees.

UPDATE ON SIGNATURE PACKETS In our last update, we informed you that after we won in Superior court, Jerry Brown's hand-picked Attorney General Xavier Becerra appealed the Judge's decision in a desperate last-ditch attempt to trick voters and save Sacramento’s $52 Billion special interest payday.  We are now in Appeals court with the Attorney General and are seeking a quick response to this meritless appeal in order to have a final ruling within a few weeks. We are hopeful that you will receive your signature packets by the end of this month. We will keep you updated on the Appeal and will also send you an email when packets are mailed.  Then the hard work begins. We will have 180 days from the issuance of the official title and summary to collect the 365,880 signatures needed to place the Repeal on the November 2018 ballot and stop the gas tax which just took effect on November 1st. Although Xavier Becerra is attempting to stall the Gas Tax Repeal in court, we are confident that we will once again prevail. AG Becerra Tries to Stop Gas Tax Repeal--AGAIN!

Lawsuit Update: Attorney General Appeals Court Decision After judge decides to write an "honest and impartial" title and summary for the Repeal of the Gas Tax ballot initiative – Attorney General decides to appeal his ruling   SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblyman Travis Allen announced that Attorney General Xavier Becerra decided to appeal the decision of the Sacramento Superior Court to rewrite his misleading title and summary for the Repeal the Gas Tax Initiative. “It’s clear that the Attorney General believes he is above the law and unbeholden to the California people, the courts, and the Constitution,” said Assemblyman Travis Allen. “His deceptive and arrogant behavior shows that his allegiance is to one person only - his appointer, Jerry Brown. Rather than upholding his Constitutional duty to the citizens of California to write a true and impartial summary for the Repeal of the Gas Tax, Becerra is now fighting with taxpayer dollars to ensure that special interests receive their $52 billion payday.” The Attorney General’s initial title and summary for the Repeal of the Gas Tax initiative was found to be so biased by California’s Superior Court that the judge relieved the AG of his duties. In order to ensure that the voters received an honest understanding of the initiative, Judge Timothy Frawley wrote a fair and balanced title and summary himself.
