Virginia Governor: Shame on You!

We need to take the fight against outlaw jurisdictions all over the country.

Virginia's Democratic Governor has caved to the corrupt, pro-illegal alien agenda and vetoed legislation banning sanctuary jurisdictions in the state of Virginia.

Outrageous!

Here's the letter I sent to the Governor.

Governor Northam:

You ran on a platform opposing sanctuary cities.

Shameful!
Then you just vetoed legislation which would ban these outlaw jurisdictions in the commonwealth.

You should be ashamed of yourself! You took an oath of office to uphold and defend the United States Constitution.

Since you are putting your limited, political agenda ahead of the safety and security of Virginia citizens, you must resign NOW!

Shame on you!

Further Thoughts About the Virginia 2017 Debacle

Virginia has gone from the Old Dominion of Washington, Madison, and Monroe to the New Dominion of Pelosi, Schumer, and Crooked Hillary Clinton.

What a sad day. Virginia was the cradle of the Founder Fathers, the site of key battles in the American Civil War as well as the American Revolution. Now, it's turning into another version of California.

Overrun with illegal aliens, violent gangs, welfarism, immigrants who are not assimilating to the new wonders of this beautiful country. On top of that, Washington DC bureaucrats have moved in and turned the tidewater into a swamp of big money and government corruption at all levels. This development is beyond maddening.

Then again, I probably shouldn't be all that bent out of shape. Maryland has been a key state in our nation's Constitutional and colonial history, and that state has been staunchly Democratic for decades. It's time for us to take back our history at all levels, and not just worry about it when Democratic domination encroaches in certain places.

Also ...

While Democrats want to do a victory dance over New Jersey and Virginia, they should realize that on a Presidential as well as Congressional and US Senate level, they are losing numbers and influence in other states, which have more people and thus more electoral votes. Pennsylvania has quietly gone from Democratic stronghold to a new member of the Republican movement. The state is actually more conservative, too, not just Republican. Jobs are coming back, and the working man feels that the GOP has something better to offer him, especially with President Trump at the helm. New coal mines have opened up, for example, in the Keystone State. Those are factors which no one can sneeze at.

Education and public safety are also improving, and there is a growing fight to reduce the unjust and untenable tax burden on hard-working Pennsylvanians. Michican and Wisconsin, too, have finally finished their slow transformation from blue states to red. Right-to-work legislation, lower taxes, business and job creation, plus the necessary demise of progressive leftist hell-hole Detroit.

Three Rust Belt states which had resisted Republican advances finally came to. What will Democrats do when President Trump's jobs and economic agenda make these states great again? What will he do as more retirees fine Pennsylvania more to the taste for settling down, and with them they bring their Republican support?

I guess it should come as no surprise that Virginia would end up staying blue. It's terrible how fast this change took place, though, just terrible. It took about 20 years for California to turn into a blue bastion of socialist malaise. Virginia? 10 years. Such a sad fate.

Other musings on the Virginia race:

1. One district just elected a man with gender dysphoria to the state legislature. Someone please tell me why this is something worth celebrating. In Virginia, of all places, there is a men pretending to be a woman, and the rest of his colleagues will have to reference him as a "her". This is disgusting, beyond the pale, and just plain insane.

Danica Rhoem is the name that she has adopted for himself, and one had to wonder why down-home Virginia voters went along with this hapless folly. The reports from the liberal claim that this man promised to do something about the terrible traffic in key sections of the VA-DC-MD region. The traffic is truly terrible, no doubt about it.

But electing a man who thinks that he is a woman? Someone tell me how much longer we will have to tolerate this insanity?

2. There are some other silver linings to the Virginia debacle. The Governor-elect has announced his opposition to sanctuary cities, and he will protect the Confederate statues so that the radical left cannot destroy the rich history of the Commonwealth.

At his victory party, Northam had to be escorted off the stage because of his more conservative positions on key issues. That didn't look good before the cameras:

It's astonishing how weak Northam looked right then and there.

He was rushed after the stage, even though only a handful of hard-core leftists rushed into the background to demand "Sanctuary for all".

3. The Democrats are contesting key legislative seats, since the vote was really close. The state senate will remain in Republican hands, too. More divided government is coming Virginia's way.

4. This election was not about Trump, but about Gillespie, and how he wasn't a strong contender for the Governor's mansion. He dragged down the ticket, too, as had the do-nothing Republican Congress has done next to nothing for the American people in connection with Trump's agenda.

Republican candidates need to stand firm and demonstrate clear commitment to pocketbook and cultural issues. No swamp creatures, please.

This video on Laura Ingraham's program outlines how Gillespie refuse to entrench himself fully with Trump and his agenda:

Virginia GOP Candidate Promotes Cultural Heritage, Slams Illegal Immigration for the Win

I paid closer to Ed Gillespie's campaign when I found this article:

Republicans trumpet Confederate statues, slam illegal immigration in new mailer attacking Northam

A new mailer approved by Republican gubernatorial nominee Ed Gillespie features a photo of the Robert E. Lee statue on Richmond’s Monument Avenue and accuses Democrat Ralph S. Northam of wanting to “tear down history while making life easier for illegal immigrants.”

This hit piece was perfect. Gillespie articulated two major concerns weighing on the hearts of many Virginia voters: they attack on their heritage and the onslaught against their safety and sovereignty

The political flier, paid for by the Republican Party of Virginia, swaps out Gillespie’s usual “For ALL Virginians” slogan for the lesser-used “For a safer, stronger Virginia.”

Oh brother! As thought Gillespie doesn't care about all Virginians!

Check out this ad from the Gillespie campaign, targeting Ralph Northam's conspicuous absence from rural Virginia:

Throughout the ad, Ed Gillespie bumper stickers are featured, and they have other ads showing that Gillespie is working for all Virginians.

The flier promises that Gillespie will “crack down” on illegal immigration and claims that Northam, the current lieutenant governor, “supported restoring rights to illegal immigrants who committed crimes,” a reference to data errors that occurred when Gov. Terry McAuliffe took executive action to restore civil rights to more than 206,000 felons. The governor’s list at one point included a sex offender who had been deported to his native Peru. The McAuliffe administration corrected the mistakes.

Yes, but the mistakes were made, and Ralph Northam must be held accountable for that, too.

Northam has voiced strong support for McAuliffe’s expansive approach to restoring felons’ voting rights. He has not called for restoring rights to people who immigrated illegally, who are not allowed to vote in Virginia regardless of whether they’ve committed a felony.

They shouldn't even be in the country! They need to be deported. Instead of cooperating with law enforcenement, howerver, McAuliffe and Northam have pandered to illegal immigration, felons, and other non-citizen populations to ensure their election chances. When will enough be enough?

Virginians are terribly affected by illegal immigration, and they want their state back!

Here's one side of the ad, focused on Northam's pro-illegal record.

But by firing up its base with stark attacks on Northam centered on Confederate symbols and illegal immigration, the GOP runs the risk of being criticized as playing to the racial divisions that many Democrats believe propelled President Donald Trump to the White House.

Illegal immigration has never been about race. Being in this country illegally is an act of defiance against our nation's immigration laws. It has nothing to do with one's skin color.

“It’s sad to see Ed Gillespie stoop to Trump’s divisive rhetoric in a fit of desperation,” said Northam spokesman David Turner. “Lacking enthusiasm, funding, and an effective message, Ed is trying to move Virginians further apart, rather than bring them together. Maybe it’s time for him to look in the mirror and ask himself if he’s really proud of the campaign he’s running.”

Fighting against illegal immigration is not divisive. Liberal advocates are now warning the Democratic Party to stop casting opposition to illegal immigration as racist. That kind of rhetoric is divisive and demeaning. There are immigrants, now fully naturalized citizens, who oppose illegal immigration, who want the borders secured--there is no way to justify calling them racist!

A spokesman for the Gillespie campaign responded by saying Gillespie is running on “spurring growth in a stagnant economy and keeping our communities safe by combating violent gangs.”

Of course, the Democratic Party has a problem with basic enforcement of criminal laws. No surprise there, since most Democrats have no problem violating our laws, teaching illegals how to skirt deportation, stealing from taxpayers, killing people, and engaging in sexual assault!

Gillespie isn't just focusing on mailers.

In immigration-themed TV ads, Gillespie has sought to draw attention to violent crimes tied to the gang MS-13 by featuring ominous photos of tattooed Hispanic men. The flier doesn’t mention MS-13, but accuses Northam of being too lenient to illegal immigrants who want to drive or go to college.

Under the headline “Liberal Ralph Northam stands with illegal immigrants,” the flier says that Northam supports in-state tuition and driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and that he cast a “deciding vote in favor of sanctuary cities.”

There are no sanctuary cities in Virginia, a fact Gillespie has publicly acknowledged.

Yes, and let's make sure that it stays that way. There is nothing wrong with ensuring a final block of any or all potential local ordinances which would endanger the public.

Earlier this year, General Assembly Republicans trying to pass a bill to ban sanctuary policies in the future forced Northam to cast a tie-breaking vote against it. After voting no to create the tie, Senate Majority Leader Thomas K. Norment Jr., R-James City, changed his vote to pass the bill, which was then vetoed by McAuliffe.

Shame on them all! SHAME!

Final Reflection

Ed Gillespie has found the sweet spot politically.

Public safety, illegal immigration, cultural heritage are all under attack from the Democratic Party. Virginia residents of all backgrounds are tried of this arrogance, elitists onslaught against their rights, their identity, and their safety.

Gillespie is going to win this race!

Virginians, Don't Turn into California: Vote for Ed Gillespie for Governor

Virginia, the Mother of Presidents, the Tidewater Miracle which helped birth a nation conceived in liberty, could be turning into another third-world hell-hole. The state went blue in 2008 because of disgust with George W. Bush. Then this red state went Democratic for two more election cycles, especially when other blue states, which had flipped for Obama, then flipped back to Trump—that’s bad news for Virginia and the country.

I have written about my experience in the Old Dominion last month. Recognizing that an intense race for Governor is taking place right now, I feel compelled to speak out on the upcoming governor’s election, not just on behalf of Virginians, but with a clear vision of awakening voters all over the country about the dangers of illegal immigration. This crucial plank in the regressive Left’s destructive agenda can still transform the country and destroy everything we care about.

Its effects are already apparent in Virginia. The traffic is terrible. I can’t believe how many freeways wanted me to pay tolls. Before arriving at my hotel, I witnessed at least four car accidents along the way. Virginians, you do not want Los Angeles style traffic. You are not prepared for it, and more immigration, legal or illegal, will clog up your highways and byways like never before.

Everywhere I went in Fairfax County last month, I found service employees who barely spoke English. Even in Los Angeles I don’t run into so many resident foreigners. Then the Virginians themselves told me what was happening. One man—a health care professional—told me he was moving to North Carolina by next year. Why? Illegal aliens. The housing costs are skyrocketing, illegals are crowding into condos throughout the county area, and the crime rates with it!

I shake my head writing this—How can this happen in Virginia! These problems have bubbled over in California for the last ten years, even though California has been turning blue over the last 30 years, but what’s happening in Virginia is clear evidence that the Democratic Party has worked overtime to replicate the California model.

Fairfax County is ground zero for what the entire state of Virginia could turn into, and what much of California has already become. MS-13 gangs have taken over the local schools. One parent told me during my visit how quickly the entire region has changed. Kids are getting kidnapped and killed in Virginia suburbs! Virginia is transforming into South Los Angeles.

The Democratic Party in Virginia is not committed to public safety, but committed to expanding their power base, and they are following the California model to implement their plan. They are welcoming in illegal aliens and refugees (predominantly unvetted). They want to allow felons to vote, and the outgoing governor Terry McAuliffe pushed this proposal through by unconstitutional executive order.

They are pushing regressive leftism at the expense of the taxpaying residents, and all of this comes as a result of illegal immigration. Illegals are lining up near gas stations and liquor stores looking for work. A massive migration is pushing out solid, hard-working Virginians. What is the most alarming about all of this, however, is how rapidly the changes have overwhelmed the state. Immigration is such a flash point, that a little-known economic professor defeated the House Majority leader in a stunning upset during the primary in 2014!

Immigration is the one issue which statewide candidates in Virginia—and across the country—need to talk about. And there may be the clinching point for Gillespie to secure the win.

Now let’s look at the two candidates running for governor.

Ed Gillespie ran for US Senate in 2014, and nearly defeated US Senator Mark Warner, whom everyone had deemed invincible.  Warner was double digits ahead, yet triumphed by less than one percent election night. Today, Gillespie is running only single digits behind Ralph Northam, the current Lieutenant Governor who lists himself as a veteran and pediatrician. Watching Northam’s saccharine commercials makes me sick. This man claims to care about the quality of life for Virginia’s children, but he cast the deciding vote against a statewide ban on sanctuary cities.

Now, does Gillespie have flaws? Sure. While he  has connectionsto the grassroots Republican base, he also has major connections to the GOP Establishment.  He was the RNC Chairman. He’s also made millions in lobbying firms. Seeming to avoid controversy early on, Gillespie stressed economic issues up to the June primary, but began pivoting to culture war concerns during the general election. Those issues are resonating with the public. Unlike some Republicans, he has learned his lesson, paying attention to the concerns of his conservative base, not just the beltway.

Gillespie has gone as far as affirming that he will protect the Confederate historical statues. That subject has been a winning issue. His real strength lies in that he has exposed at length the detrimental pro-illegal agenda proffered by his opponent. My advice to Gillespie: Don’t let the polls fool you. The media has been skewing data for the last five years, in desperate collusion with the corrupt, left-leaning globalist Democratic Party. Keep plugging away on the major issues. Keeping hitting hard on illegal immigration. Push hard on the public safety question, and make it a priority to ban all sanctuary jurisdictions in the Commonwealth.

I cannot stress this enough to the Commonwealth voters: Don’t let the Democrats take power in Alexandria. Your outgoing governor, Terry McAuliffe, has been a southern, more soft-spoken version of California’s own Jerry Brown, with voting rights granted to felons along with handouts to illegals. Another Democrat (with a like-minded legislature) will allow illegal aliens to have driver’s licenses, or even grant illegal alien youth in-state tuition and perhaps permit sanctuary cities. These lawless policies have ruined California, destroying the quality of life in our once Golden State.  Virginia cannot weather another four years of Democratic leadership.

Virginians, don’t allow your state to turn into California! Make Virginia Great Again: Vote for Ed Gillespie for Governor!
