House GOP: Growing Pains, not Chaos

Congressman Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) appeared on Face the Nation this morning, and blasted the false media impression of a House GOP caucus in disarray, or more commonly repeated "chaos".

"There is a media circus, with cameras running all over."

Yes, all of this talk about chaos and dysfunction flows from a disruptive media painting the conservatives as reckless ne'er-do-wells ruining the country and make the federal government look bad.

The fact is -- the federal government, from its massive overspending to its obtrusive interventionism is worthy of dishonor and shame.

More Freedom Caucus members are exposing this corruption and dysfunction.

Rep Mick Mulvaney (R-SC)

It was about time that more conservative elements flexed their power and dethroned the undue influence of the Chamber of Commerce within the Republican Party.

What we are witnessing in Congress, and especially among the Republicans, are growing pains, not chaos, not immaturity, and not even a political party which has lost the will or mind to govern.

What we have, finally, is a governing cohort which does not bow down to Big Government writ large, whether with compassion as an underwriting justification or progressivism.

It is deeply offensive to me that the arrogant media class continues to perpetuate this fraudulent stereotype of limited government advocates as freakish extremists or heedless children who want to shrink government down to something that can be drowned in a bathtub.

The Framers wanted as much, and more with their US Constitution.
