Limited Government, Unlimited God

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2: 15)

and

"Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing." (Isaiah 40:15)

The world, its kings, queens, rulers, all come up short. This world is passing, yet for those who do not walk by faith, I understand why they remain attached to the state. The state at its best must be the state at its least.

There is one King:

"You are my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob." (Psalm 44: 4)

and one government:

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9: 6)

He holds the government on his shoulder, only one!

This Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is the unlimited God for all who still something from "big government" which can never be big enough:

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4: 19

What is all this goodness about? Paul explains:

"Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." (Philippians 4: 20)

This same Jesus Christ supplies every need, and more:

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10: 10)

and

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"

and why. . .

"Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
(Ephesians 3: 20-21)

Limited Government so that we do not settle for anything less  than the Unlimited God through Christ Jesus.
