Merry Christ-mas, Children of God!

Merry Christ-mas Children of God,

“For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”  ><> Luke 2:11-12

When I saw this scripture listed by "Thru The Bible Radio" I wanted to prayer this for all my brothers and sisters in Christ;

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. - ><>  Ephesians 1:15-21

Every time we celebrate our LORD Jesus Christ (the PRECIOUS BELOVED SON OF GOD) I pray you sense the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life!!  Let us all give glory, honor, praise, and love to our loving God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Following is a link to the "Tommy Walker Christmas Concert" at Shadow Mountain Community Church.  The concert begins at 17 minute & 30 second point of the video.  My brother and I really enjoy singing worship music to our LORD Jesus and hope you will too.  The worship songs are written to bring praise and glory from us to our Savior.

California MassResistance Activists Force Drag Queen Story Hour to Clean Up its Act

In far-left San Francisco area: California MassResistance activists force Drag Queen Story Hour to clean up its act

Instead of men in drag reading offensive LGBT books to kids … an actual woman showed up and read normal children’s books

When not afraid, pro-family activists can accomplish a lot!

December 8, 2023
ALT TEXT MassResistance activists in the front row of the "Drag Queen" event in Redwood, CA made a difference.

A dedicated group of pro-family people can make a difference even in difficult locales!

Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is a loathsome propaganda routine where men dress up in garish women’s clothes and read offensive LGBT story books to young children. It’s showing up across America in public libraries and other venues. Its stated goals are to push “gender fluidity” on kids, give them “glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models,” and help them be “their true selves” with “no gender restrictions.”

Far-left San Francisco is where the Drag Queen Story Hour movement originated.

Redwood City is located just south of San Francisco and north of Palo Alto. Not surprisingly, it’s a very liberal and strongly pro-LGBT area. But in fact, there is a sizeable (but mostly-silent) cohort of pro-family conservatives throughout the Bay area. MassResistance has connected with many of them in Redwood City and neighboring cities.

So last month when word got out that the Redwood City Public Library was holding a Drag Queen Story Hour, local conservatives decided it was time to do something effective. One of them contacted us. She told us that last year, some locals showed up and protested outside the library to voice their disapproval when the toxic event took place. But it had no effect.

We got right to work and helped them devise a new strategy.

ALT TEXT The Redwood City Public Library probably thought this year's drag event would be a breeze!

Sending a message that something was coming!

This time, we made it very clear to the library staff and the event’s organizers that pro-family activists in town were planning something in opposition.

First, one of our people specifically asked the library staff to give us as much information as possible about the event. Who was going to be the drag queen? (We definitely wanted to do a background check.) Who else was going to be involved? What books would be read? What else was going to take place?

No one at the library would reveal any of this. Instead, the library director said to contact the main organizer: Drag Story Hour in San Francisco. Our people (who identified themselves as MassResistance) emailed the San Francisco chapter and asked those questions. They never heard back.

But just asking those questions clearly alarmed the organizers. They surely already knew that MassResistance had a history of success derailing DQSH events across the country.

On the day before the event, our local leader went to the library to see where the story hour was going to take place. The staff directed her upstairs to the kids’ reading area, which had room for about 30 seats. The fact that we scouted the room signaled that some kind of bigger protest might happen.

The organizers apparently got the message and decided to back off from their extreme content.

On the day of the event – a good surprise! A severely watered-down “Drag Queen” reading

On the day of the Drag Queen Story Hour, about a dozen of our group descended on the library.

Half of them arrived an hour before the 11:00 starting time so they could get front-row seats. They brought small signs and prepared to hold them up when the event began. The first thing they noticed was that police officers were already in the otherwise empty room. But they did not prevent our people from going in and taking the front seats on one side.

ALT TEXT When the pro-family people showed up early there were two police officers stationed in the room. But that didn't stop our folks!

The police were there in the beginning, but left right when it started. As one of our people observed, it was clear that the library wanted to intimidate us from disrupting (which we weren't going to do anyway) or from being in there at all.

Our other activists arrived a few minutes before 11:00 am and held signs outside the front doors.

ALT TEXT Outside the library's main entrance just before the event was set to begin.

A handful of pro-LGBT activists with small children, about 25 in all, came to the DQSH event. (We suspect many of them most likely go to other DQSH events to show “support.”)

A severely watered-down “Drag Queen” show

The person who showed up to read to the kids was not a Drag Queen! Instead, it was a woman wearing lots of make-up and an outsized dress. She read two innocuous (and uninteresting) children’s books with no sexual or LGBT messaging. Between reading the books, she did lead the kids in “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish ….” – a noxious version of a popular toddler’s song. (There was vague innuendo here and there – but no child would have noticed it.) She also sang an inoffensive song.

ALT TEXT This time the "Drag Queen" was just an odd-looking woman who read mundane books to the kids.

Everyone – even the leftists – must have noticed that it was starkly different from the usual DQSH event! We were certainly surprised!

Throughout the entire story time, our activists’ protest was restrained, low-key, civil, and without disruptions. This probably irked the leftists.

And some good cheer afterwards to celebrate

After the event, some of our MassResistance group met at a uniquely conservative coffee shop located not far from the library for a small celebration. Apparently, it even features guest visits by Republican politicians and pundits – and doesn’t get burned down by the Left!

ALT TEXT Celebrating after the watered-down "Drag Show."

Final thoughts

If pro-family activists can pull this off in a far-left corner of America, it could be done anywhere!

For a first-time protest inside the Redwood City Public Library, our California MassResistance team did a great job. As noted above, Redwood City is not much different from San Francisco itself: Residents, local businesses, and politicians wholeheartedly celebrate the LGBT agenda, along with all the other “woke” ideologies. In spite of that overall hostile atmosphere, our activists made sure that the opposition to Drag Queen Story Hour got through loud and clear!

As one of the MassResistance people who took part told us afterwards, “I firmly believe that if none of us had shown up the way we did, the drag queen would have been a man and would have launched right into children’s story books with homosexuality, transgenderism, and worse. We definitely got into their heads!”

Michael Sullivan: The Danger of Getting What We Want

Friday Reflection:
The Danger of Getting What We Want

by Michael Quinn Sullivan

Listen to the Reflections Podcast

After a half-millennium of living as a self-governing people, the ancient Israelites went to the Prophet Samuel and asked him to appoint a king. They soon learned the danger of getting what they wanted.

From the perspective of practical governance, no section of Holy Scripture is more interesting to me than that of 1 Samuel 8. This is where the people of God look around and demand that they be given a king like everyone else had. God warned them that the king would do bad things, and they responded—in essence—“Sold! We want that!”

Those bad things? High taxes, unnecessary wars, foreign control, loss of rights and property. The king would be serving himself rather than the people. Yet, the Bible recounts, the people eagerly signed on.

God made it clear that by rejecting self-governance, they were rejecting Him. Such is the state of the human heart that we so willingly trade heavenly gifts for earthly baubles!

Of course, the Law given to the people by God did indeed make a provision for a future king, but it was to be a king chosen at a time of God’s choosing for them and their benefit. God wanted the people to want God to provide what they needed when they needed it, not because they had grown weary of governing themselves.

God wanted the people to trust in Him. God wanted His people to know how to govern themselves before the installation of a king. God wanted the people to have something much better than a king in the form of the other nations; He wanted for them a King who served them. But the 450 years between the time they entered the land and when they made the demand on Samuel, the people demonstrated they were not ready for a king. The people had not yet shown a sufficient ability to govern themselves.

Much of the Bible can be read from the perspective of people refusing to govern themselves. It started in the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve had only one restriction. They were not to eat the fruit from one tree; they could have anything else. But they chose to pursue what was denied to them rather than enjoy what they had. Their lack of self-discipline affected (and infected!) all of us.

This plays out again and again in Scripture and in our lives.

The first three kings—Saul, David, and Solomon—made various messes of various things, all in keeping with the admonition from God. The arrogance of the fourth king, Rehoboam, led to the downfall of the united kingdom and—functionally—the end of Israel as a geopolitical entity for several millennia.

But let us be clear: the kings did serve a divine purpose. They demonstrated through their failings the kind of king God had in mind for them. One who comes not to be served but to serve; one who does not add burdens but takes them away.

Of course, we celebrate the arrival of that King of Kings during Advent.

Self-governance is as hard today as it was for the people of ancient Israel. We live in constant rejection of the system that God Himself gave us for our happiness and well-being under Him. But, in fits and starts, we have seen efforts to reclaim our heritage and birthright.

We find all too many of our countrymen still demanding a king, a strong ruler, or a wise leader rather than taking individual responsibility for living faithfully under God. Our Founding Fathers wanted us to look toward God and be a self-governing people. Will we?

Do we want to be governed over? Do we want rulers who serve themselves? Do we want to be servants? Or do we want something better?

Just as ancient Israel’s rejection of self-governance led to their fall, so can our embrace of it bring the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

Your Voice for Conservative Principles

Dear Arthur,

These days, we’re all very busy with our jobs, our families, businesses, and investments. Yet we also have to make time for the complicated and important work of keeping up with the government bureaucracy, regulations, taxes, and chicanery.

How can you do both? There are only so many hours in the day. How do you manage your own affairs and, importantly, how can you be sure that someone is speaking on your behalf — consistently and constantly communicating your values to the politicians in Boise?

That’s where the Idaho Freedom Foundation comes in. For 15 years, the IFF has been the voice of conservative, free-market principles in Idaho’s capital city. We know that families, charities, churches, and community organizations shrink whenever government grows. We provide the research and the data to prove it. We stand up for conservative values because when the people and organizations that represent the backbone of society start to crumble, so does the promise of America.

Government should not be in the education business. It should not be in the medical welfare business. It should not be in the lottery, alcohol, banking, media, or insurance businesses. Yet here we are: Idaho, the most politically conservative state in the country, has a government that has fully embraced socialism and has an education system that promotes Marxism.

As a result, people are suffering. Wages are too low, taxes are too high, and regulations are too stifling. Suicide is up, the quality of health care is down, and schools are failing. In the legislative session that starts in January, we will again be sharing the solutions to these problems, solutions that require difficult votes, an abundance of courage, and a willingness to boldly reject the empty promises of leftist special interest groups who have cleverly and quietly been in control of state affairs for decades.

Will you help us? Please consider a donation to the Idaho Freedom Foundation today. With your help, we will continue to turn the tide and restore Idaho’s rightful place as a laboratory of liberty, free from the tyranny of socialist policies, cronyism, and government mediocrity.

Idaho Family Policy Center: Parents Oppose LGBT Agenda in Public Schools

Do Idaho voters support pro-family, conservative, and biblically sound policy reforms? That’s what our annual “Idaho Family Policy Poll” seeks to discover—and we’re excited to release the first round of results!

This scientific public opinion poll – commissioned by Idaho Family Policy Center – utilized a large, representative sample of likely Idaho voters. Respondents were contacted by landline and mobile phone using interactive voice response (IVR) technology.

The questions focused on some of the top policy issues facing the Idaho families. We promise that we’ll share all the results over the next few days. But today, let’s focus on what Idaho voters think about parental involvement in their children’s education and the LGBT agenda in public schools.

1. Idahoan voters overwhelmingly agree that public schools should not withhold information from parents about their children.

Nearly 6,000 schools nationwide have enacted policies requiring school officials to conceal information from parents when their children begin identifying as the other gender at school, according to reporting from the New York Post.

That includes Idaho, where a Coeur d’Alene school made headlines a few years back after helping a 10-year-old girl socially transition without notifying her family.

Unsurprisingly, Idahoans stand in strong opposition to these anti-parent and anti-family policies. According to our polling, more than 83% of likely Idaho voters want schools to share information relevant to a child’s physical, emotional, or mental health with parents.

Believe it or not, this is one area where both sides of the political spectrum agree: self-identified conservatives (95%) and liberals (64%) both don’t want schools hiding this important information from parents.

2. A supermajority of Idaho voters want parents to know what public schools are teaching to their children.

The US Supreme Court has long recognized that parents are ultimately responsible for the upbringing and education of their children.

To fully exercise their natural rights, parents must know what is being taught to their children in public school classrooms. It makes sense that nearly 74% of likely Idaho voters believe schools should allow parents to review all curriculum and teacher training material for each of their children’s classes.

3. Most Idaho voters don’t want public school teachers punished for using biologically accurate pronouns.

More and more often, public school teachers report feeling pressured by school administrators to use “preferred pronouns” when referring to students and other staff. Some teachers in other states have even faced disciplinary action for refusing to bend the knee to the pronoun police, who seek to enforce conformity around the radical LGBT agenda that is sweeping our public schools.

As one would imagine, most Idaho voters (62%) support legal protections for public school teachers who use biologically accurate pronouns. This is another issue of bipartisan agreement: self-identified conservatives (74%) and liberals (50%) both agree that teachers shouldn’t fall victim to harmful pronoun policies.

WILL YOU PARTNER WITH US?

Idaho Family Policy Center is the only conservative Christian think tank doing robust policy analysis and public opinion polling in the Gem State.

Most of our supporters are shocked to learn that our financial support comes exclusively from local Christians who share our vision for building an Idaho where God is honored. Unlike most state organizations, we don’t receive out-of-state funding from our national partners.

Would you consider supporting the mission of Idaho Family Policy Center through a generous financial gift?

Your tax-deductible donation will increase our effectiveness in the coming year as we champion biblical values held by conservative Christians like you.

Gov. Ron DeSantis: Record and Plans

 MY RECORD & MY PLANS

Parents' rights have been increasingly under assault around the nation, but in Florida, we stand up for the rights of parents and the fundamental role they play in the education of their children.

  • School choice is available for all Floridians
  • Florida is ranked #1 for education freedom and #1 for parental empowerment, and we are #1 in state spending on private school choice and #1 in school choice enrollments.
  • Florida eliminated Critical Race Theory in its K-12 schools.
  • Florida has established robust civics education requirements so that students learn about the Constitution and what it means to be an American.

Academia across the country has lost its way. In Florida, we've changed that with a series of reforms:

  • We've reset the focus of higher ed towards preparing students to be contributing members of society, rather than imposing political ideology.
  • We've ensured that students and staff are evaluated based on merit and eliminating so-called D.E.I. programs which are effectively programs based in discrimination, exclusion, and indoctrination.

We have taken action to stand against the United States’ greatest geopolitical threat — the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Legislation I have signed...

  • Prevents Chinese entities or affiliates from buying farmland in Florida or land near our military bases.
  • Stops sensitive data from being stored on servers that might be owned by entities affiliated with the CCP.
  • Prohibits the Chinese influence that we rooted out of higher education from working its way into our primary and secondary education institutions, including a prohibition on Confucious institutes.
  • Blocks access to dangerous applications, such as TikTok, on government servers and devices.

We have taken swift action to protect young life under attack:

  • The Heartbeat Protection Act protects the most vulnerable: babies in the womb whose hearts have already begun to beat.

Florida has stood strong against the imposition of radical gun reform:

  • We have enacted constitutional carry that allows Floridians to carry concealed weapons without a government-issued permission slip.

Other states endanger their citizens by making it easier to put criminals back on the street. Here in Florida, we support and enact policies to protect our communities and keep our people safe. Our newest legislation...

  • Strengthens pre-trial detention and pushed back against woke “bail reform” efforts.
  • Increases sentences for drug traffickers that target children with deadly fentanyl.
  • Subjected child rapists to the death penalty.
  • Removed a “progressive" Soros-funded district attorney from office.

The Biden Border Crisis has wreaked havoc across the United States and has put Americans in danger. We have not stood by, but instead:

  • Mandated immigration status verification through E-Verify for public and private employers.
  • Made knowingly transporting illegal immigrant minors a felony.
  • Made using a fake ID to gain employment a felony.
  • Required hospitals to report healthcare costs for illegal aliens.
  • Gave Florida more money to send more illegal immigrants to more “sanctuary” jurisdictions such as Martha’s Vineyard.

Pharmacy Benefit Managers and Big Pharma have managed to escape the public eye and work in the shadows for far too long. We have taken the reins back from these healthcare monopolies while empowering consumers...

  • With the legislation passed this session, drug companies must disclose wholesale drug price increases of 15% or more.
  • Florida is also prohibiting pharmacy benefit managers from mandating mail orders.

Our economy has consistently outpaced the nation, but we are still fighting against inflationary policies imposed on us by the Biden administration.

  • We lowered tolls across the state.
  • We created a permanent tax exemption on diapers, wipes, baby clothes, cribs and strollers, and much more.
  • We reduced taxes by nearly $5 billion (a Florida record).

As Florida’s population booms, we have provided record support for Florida’s workforce to get quality housing and achieve the American Dream.

  • The Live Local Act dedicates more than half a billion dollars to incentivize and jumpstart new construction.
  • The Hometown Heroes Program makes sure police officers, firefighters, teachers, and other community leaders can afford to live in or near the communities they serve.

We have refused to let elites circumvent the ballot box to implement a radical ideological agenda through financial sleight of hand.

  • We've signed legislation that prohibits the financial sector from considering so-called “Social Credit Scores” in banking and lending practices that aim to prevent Floridians from obtaining loans, lines of credit, and bank accounts.
  • And on the record, I have said NO to CBDCs or a Federally-controlled digital dollar. Any proposal will be dead on arrival.

There is a disturbing trend in our society to try to sexualize young people. That is not the way you look out for our children. You protect children:

  • We have prohibited sex reassignment surgeries and prescriptions for children under 18.
  • Banned children from attending drag shows.
  • Protected students from having to “declare” their pronouns in school and ensured that students are not forced to use pronouns that are not based on a student’s biological sex.
  • Expanded parents' rights in the education of their children by prohibiting classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in Pre-K through 8th grade.
  • Protected young women from being forced to use bathrooms and locker rooms alongside biological males who have decided that they can invade women’s spaces.

These kinds of accomplishments are why the people I serve re-elected me as Governor by a 20-point margin, turning Democrat strongholds red. Now, more than ever, we need candidates who can win. Our party is crying out for it.

MY PLAN AS PRESIDENT

As President, I can promise you that I will bring my arsenal of accomplishments in Florida nationwide. We will protect the youngest Americans from dangerous indoctrination, we will stand up for families across the country, put an end to the Biden border crisis, and save our country from continued decline. Today, I want you to take a look at just a few of my plans that will begin to go into effect on Day One—right after we rip up Biden's failing policies.

I know we need a candidate who can win and deliver results for the American people, and that's why I'm running. If you share my belief that it's time to get this country back on track and win big for ALL of America, I need you to support my campaign today.

Thank you,

Governor Ron DeSantis
