Here's a letter I wrote about an elderly gentleman I met in Manhattan Beach, CA:

Upset with Waxman

Walking down Manhattan Beach Boulevard last month, I met a gentleman who had posted a piece of paper on his minivan.

The white sheet with black letters read: “My insurance was cancelled because of ObamaCare.”
I would have never expected someone to air such a frustrating grievance, but such outrageous outcomes must be shared.

When I discussed the issue, he told me that because of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, his insurance coverage was cancelled. His heart doctor had informed him that if the law passed, he would quit his practice.

In 2012, shortly before the June primary, Congressman Henry Waxman admitted in a House budget committee hearing that he did not know that General Motors went bankrupt.

The colleague asking about GM7, Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina, reminded him: “Well, it did. I am surprised you hadn’t heard about it. It was the second largest bankruptcy in US history, if not the largest.”

Relating how retired teachers’ and police officers’ pension funds were defunded to bail out GM, Mulvaney asked: “Since you supported the bailouts, what would you like to tell them?”

On behalf of every resident of the 33rd Congressional district who is losing his health insurance, or struggling to find a doctor, or paying higher health care premiums because of ObamaCare, Henry Waxman’s signature legislation, I ask the Congressman: “What would you like to tell them?”
To everyone reading, I ask: “What would you like to tell Waxman? What should happen to him in 2014?”

Respectfully, don't you have BETTER THINGS TO DO then re-post Media Matters talking points for the progressive mega-cause of ObamaCare?!

Here in my state of RI, HUNDREDS of people have been unable to get healthcare door to poor planning and implimentation. Their are MANY people - whether it be by design or just poor planning - that fall through the cracks thanks to this federal monstronsity...

Here's a statement from Assemblyman Mike Chippendale of Rhode Island:

Responding to a telephone inquiry, Chippendale [state assembly member from Johnston. Here's his contact info] commented that as a member of a permanent joint committee on health care oversight, “It became clear to me that it was nothing but smoke and mirrors. This committee had no say on really anything that the lieutenant governor was doing to set up the exchange.”

About the impact of Obamacare on his constituents, Chippendale added:

“Insurance is being dropped. Some of the elderly are starting to see gaps in their Medicare coverage that didn’t exist before, that now suddenly do. Businesses are frantic. They simply cannot afford to put their employees on these very expensive health care plans.”

Despite claims for accessibility and affordability, from rising health care costs to spiraling government debt, the Affordable Care Act’s careless implementation and uncaring implications have exposed that Obama-Care-Less about the health and wealth of Rhode Islanders.

Here's a statement from Democrat Jan Malik:

Cosigning the legislation, Assemblyman Jan Malik (D-Warren) stated: “I just don’t think we can afford it because of the situation we are in right now. Let the feds pay for it.” Making a point that the costs of the state healthcare exchange would increase substantially over the next four years, Malik rejoined: “The issue for me is the dollars and sense. If we could afford it, we should keep it.”

For the record, Malik cosigned legislation which would require the Rhode Island health care exchange be funded only by federal dollars, because the state cannot afford it.

From Amy Gallagher, a benefits manager in Rhode Island:

Go Local Prov Health/Business expert Amy Gallagher works as a benefits administrator, and she had nothing but bad news about Obamacare, citing businesses would face rising premiums beyond the normal 7%. “A defense contract based in Rhode Island will face a 26% hike in health insurance premiums because of this law.” She further commented on other statewide firms which face no other option beyond raising the insurance premiums on their employees just to manage the costs associated with Obamacare. She did not disclose specific names, for fear that those firms would face political retaliation, like losing key contracts with the state.

I love my haters! There is something thrilling about seeing enemy elements descend to the lowest shame in an attempt to silence or shame you into silence.

Crazy is the new epithet for shutting down individuals who care about limited government, individual liberty, and constitutional rule. The Soviet tyrants would use the same label to shut up then shut away political dissidents, deeming them "sane" at another set time (usually, some time in the afterlife, but by then, the Siberian cold would have killed the "crazy people", if the hard labor and torturous prison conditions did not.)

Following this hollow post offered after I launched a piece on Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa, I offer the following, with much more:

Crazy is drawing a red line against Syria should they use chemical weapons, then doing nothing about it (President Obama)

Crazy is declaring "We're not broke!" when the nation faces multi-trillion dollar national debt (Congressman Henry Waxman)

Crazy is lambasting the CIA for snooping on your computer but saying nothing to the NSA snooping on everyone else's phone ( US Senator Dianne Feinstein)

Crazy is doing an all-night filibuster on climate change, when people are struggling to find jobs, and keep their health care, which your party helped kill (US Senator Barbara Boxer)

Crazy is calling yourself a Republican, when you support expanded abortions, gay marriage, gun control, Common Core, and the TARP bailouts (because you supervised them) (Neel Kashkari)

Crazy is calling people 'bat-sh#' crazy because they refuse to relent on exposing the crimes and setbacks of an administration which has been labeled the least transparent by the Associated Press (Jim B. up there)

Feinstein and the CIA

Regarding revelations about the CIA seizing records and searching US Senate staffers’ computers, Senator Dianne Feinstein shared: “I have grave concerns that the CIA’s search may well have violated the separation of powers principles embodied in the United States Constitution.”

Where have you been, Senator Feinstein?

 

She voted for the Affordable Care Act, whose unconstitutional overreach into the daily lives of Americans has restricted our freedom to choose the best health insurance without bankrupting ourselves.

She has stood by while President Obama has unilaterally ignored his and prior legislation, while rewriting his own signature health insurance law, pushing back mandate deadlines without Congressional approval.

 

Openly deriding the Supreme Court during his State of the Union Address, Obama has issued executive orders to control guns, flout our immigration laws, and raise federal workers’ pay.

Senator Feinstein, even a sixth-grader would recognize that President Obama does not respect the United State Constitution.

Shameful Display of Democratic Demagoguery

The Democratic minority in the House of Representatives is shaming Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa for shutting down a committee hearing in February 2014, and thus preventing ranking member Elijah Cummings from asking a question, when he really wanted to launch into an indictment against the Republican majority in the House.

During a hearing on the floor of the House, Democratic lawmakers flashed Ipads with Issa showing the sign to cut off the microphone for the ranking member.

From Fast and Furious to IRS Abuses, to Benghazi, to the hacking of AP reporters phone records, and now allegations that the CIA was spying on US Senate staffers, Congressman Darrell Issa has stood up to the stone-walling and truth-retreating Obama Administration. Rather than being censured, Issa should be honored for his unceasing fact-finding.

The mainstream media has given into the liberal coven which promotes, excuses, and all-too-often ignores the failings, faults, and fury of Democratic lawmakers, including President Obama, who has discredited minorities with not budgeting properly for health care, when even the well-off are finding their health insurance premiums skyrocketing.

Not Congressman Issa.

Before taking on the Chairmanship of the House Oversight Committee, Issa announced: "It's going to be acrimonious. There's no question. He [President Obama] has been one of the most corrupt presidents in modern times."

He then qualified the remarks:

"When you hand out a trillion dollars of TARP, a trillion dollars of stimulus dollars. . it's like steroids to government waste."

DOJ officials are now dead because of the felony-stupid gun-running scheme called Operation Fast and furious.

Congressman Issa has rigorously pursued the Department of Justice and the Obama Administration on the incompetent and ultimately fatal ploy to expose drug cartels along the Southern US border.

The best that the Attorney General would offer to the committee? Blank reams of paper covered in black ink, with "For internal use only."

Issa fired on the Assistant Attorney General Robert Welch:

"That's not discovery! You might as well have given us a ream still in its original binder!"

American diplomats were assaulted, tortured, and killed following the terrorist attack on Benghazi, and only after President Obama was reelected did the major media networks revisit the questionable accounts related to the American public about what happened.

Issa never backed down to finding out what really happened. While New Jersey Governor Chris Christie gave two hours to explain political pay-back traffic blocking along the George Washington Bride, President Obama has not given this country two minutes to explain the deterioration of American foreign policy, or respect for American preeminence, throughout the country, and worst of all the horrible deaths of  four diplomats who repeatedly called for extra security from the State Department, yet received none.

While Issa was pursuing the IRS' targeting of conservative political groups, Lois Lerner has refused to answer questions relating to her role or her knowledge of these egregious breaches of federal integrity. Because of her repeated reference to the Fifth Amendment, Issa decided to adjourn the hearing. Ranking member Elijah Cummings threw a fit.

Race-baiting followed, all of which condemned Issa's action as racist. The Chairman apologized, yet the bitter beating has continued, with Democrats desperate to shame the Republican majority to censure the Oversight Chairman or have him removed from the committee.

Where were the Democrats when former-Oversight Chairman Henry Waxman displayed one of the most egregious and offensive displays of partisanship in 2008? Waxman badgered EPA officials during the Bush Administration, including one particular  member, and Waxman refused to honor regular order. After repeated attempts for Waxman to respect committee procedure, Waxman hammered his gavel repeatedly:

"I will have you physically removed if you don't stop!"

Waxman's party lost the majority in 2010, and he has opted to retire this year, in spite of prior announcements that he would run again. He has yet to apologize for his abuse display. If anything, the Democratic Party's double-standard on Waxman's behavior should be enough to silence any meaningful criticism of Chairman Issa.

Let's just declare the obvious - the Democratic Party will not regain the House in 2014, and the ongoing investigations from current Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa all but ensure that Republicans will not just take back the US Senate, but complete the shellacking of 2010. The Democratic Party's naked yet enfeebled attempt to stifle the truth, particular the revelations of abject incompetence and corruption, should embolden all Americans to #StandWithIssa and demand that they stop protecting President Obama's arrogant, unconstitutional power grabs, all of which have diminished the authority of the Constitution, the integrity of the government, and diminished the security of this country.

Kneel to RINO Kash-n-Kari? No!

RINO Neel Kashkari for CA Governor?

If anyone meets the definition of RINO, or Republican in Name Only, that would be Neel Kashkari, who "supervised" the 2008 TARP bailout under President George W. Bush, then served as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Stability into the first five months of the Obama Administration.

He played multi-billion dollar big money spender under two Presidents, both of whom should have never pushed through or continued the bailout of bad banks behaving badly with other people's money. In the words of former Congressman and Reagan Administration budget director David Stockman: "The rules of the market were needed during the Housing crisis," countering Bush's folly which argued "We must suspend the rules of the free market in order to save it."

$700 billion dollars and six years later, big banks have only gotten bigger, along with the national debt and the annual deficits. The moral scandal of the federal government borrowing from the future to pay former debts and current retirees as well as mounting entitlement unsustainablilites should enlighten enough outrage in the California voters to displace anyone connected with so naked a spending spree.

Despite California incumbent Governor Jerry Brown's ardent affirmations, the state's balanced budget is anything but, depending on rosy tax revenues which awkwardly assume that the wealthy will get wealthier, or that rich people will move to tax-and-spend California to lose more of their hard-earned wealth to the hard-up spendthrift Sacramento Democratic supermajority.

And Neel Kashkari has the audacity (of hope?) to run his campaign championing a supervisory role in the TARP bailout?

In 2008, Congressman Darrell Issa (R-Vista) had harsh words and frustrated reviews of the TARP money, sounding off on the fact that the Democratically-controlled US Congress, with a frantic Republican President, pushed through the enormous bailout, only to see the money spent on something else instead of its intended purpose.

Issa's question to Kashkari: "I want to know whether Congress was lied to or was there a team a along who had an alternate idea on how this money would be spent?"

Followed by a resume of the TARP team's decision not to buy assets, Issa continued:

"You never explained why you didn't by one of those assets."

Despite Kashari's protestations about the need for an abrupt shift in the  dispensing of the TARP bailout money, the American people were still left "holding the bag" for an aggressive expansion of national debt, where major financial firms either dissipated or expanded, and an anemic recovery which has witnesses the roaring of Wall Street, with the waning of Main Street, all while K Street dances on streets of gold, all paid (and still being paid) by We the People.

Kashkari's connection with the cash-n-carry TARP bailout alone should disqualify him from state office. Including his liberal stances on other issuers, pro-choice (as if!), pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control, pro-Common Core (or should one write, ObamaCore?) and pro-Big Government, with an email or two about stopping the billion dollar bullet train boondoggle and making education better (who wouldn't, but how would he?), California voters should shout "No!" to RINO Kash-n-Kari for governor in 2014.

Barbara Boxer's All-Nighter on. . . Climate Change?

Senator Barbara Boxer has been up to something in the US Senate, although her legislation goes nowhere, often missing the bigger problem beneath the issue, or worse she stumps small issues, which trump the major concerns which worry Americans heading into the new year.

Regarding legislation of some merit, Boxer sent out an e-release, in which she described her efforts to pass a bill dealing with the rising perversion of sexual assault in the United States military:

This week, the Senate filibustered the Military Justice Improvement Act, legislation I introduced with Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Susan Collins (R-ME) that would help address the epidemic of sexual assault in the military.

First, Boxer neglects to explain the specific contents of the legislation, which would have stripped senior commanders of their authority to prosecute rape cases. In a way, the legislation makes sense. If military commanders are ignoring many assault cases, if one of them does choose to prosecute, one has to wonder if they can zealously represent the best interests of the country, as well as seek justice for the victim.

Next, Boxer neglected to mention that Democrats as well as Republicans filibustered this bill, and the measure died on the floor of the US Senate, including US Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) and Jack Reed (D-Rhode Island), who will be facing a real challenge this year from his right. Who supported the legislation? Republican-Tea Party members Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, along with fifty-three other Democrats and Republicans demonstrating rare bipartisanship.

Then, Boxer and colleagues neglected to point out the abject neglect and disarray of the current military leadership, in which President Obama has done more to put our troops in harm's way rather than quelling disturbances or at least picking military engagements from a strategic mindset.

I applaud every effort on the part of our legislators to investigate the corruption and abuse of our military personnel. The Christian Science Monitor submitted that women need to be treated as equally capable members who can take up arms and fight for the country along the same firing lines as men. Stanford Professor Thomas Sowell offered a different, compelling as well as controversial take on the military-sexual assault issue:

For thousands of years, people around the world had the common sense to realize that putting young men and young women together in military operations was asking for trouble, not only for these young people of both sexes, but for the effectiveness of military forces entrusted with the fate of nations.

 I am inclined to agree with Sowell on this issue. At the risk of sounding biased or chauvinist, the sexual assault epidemic would not exist if our leaders recognized that the military is not for social engineering.. Requiring gender equity in the United States military, sadly, has enabled this rising incidence of assault. Not at all because women in the military are subjecting themselves or "asking for it", but the proximity of women and men, and the inappropriate reactions which can occur in such cases, simply cannot be ignored. Ironically enough, the Democratic Party in Congress has contributed to the War on Women by requiring the military to enlist women.

Still, our Senators deserve some applause for ensuring that all crimes are prosecuted, and sexual assault is punished to the fullest extent of the law. One week later, the US Senate unanimously passed legislation which would:

 [P]rohibit the "good soldier defense" could encompass a defendant's military record of reliability, dependability, professionalism and reputation as an individual who could be counted on in war and peacetime.

Her efforts to protect victims of sexual assault and prosecute predators should not be ignored.

Yet how can one take these efforts seriously when one accounts for the next major venture she participated in?

After taking on military sexual assault, Boxer leaped from the improbable legislation to the outrageous Climate Change All-Nighter.

Climate Change is a serious issue? From the polar vertex which covered the greater North American continent, not once but twice, plus the unprecedented cold temperatures which lashed the country during the early part of 2013, climate change has become a discredited gimmick for rallying the left, in their attempt to leave behind the indefensible failures of the Obama Administration on the economy, domestic security, foreign policy, and above health care (Obamacare).

Writing an "op-ed" for the Huffington Post (which does not amount to much more than huff-and-puff happenstance, lowering its standards to print anything left-leaning, whether substantial or substantiated), Boxer commented:

When my colleagues and I finished our all-nighter on the Senate floor on Tuesday morning, we had spoken for more than 14 hours to draw attention to the threat posed by climate change. As we had hoped, we engaged the American people in our efforts to wake up the Congress to the threat of climate change.

Was anyone really paying attention? Probably not, as more likely the American People were reeling from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's hollow charge that the Obamacare horror stories were "all untrue." From Obamacare to anemic job growth, voters are tired of a Senate which spends more time bickering on how to spend more taxpayer dollars without offsetting the debt, with finding ways to score political points with the Left, while making a point of leaving the average American behind with fewer options, less opportunity, and more reasons to hope for less and remain hopeless.

While Boxer cites that a majority of Americans recognize that climate change is real, they do not necessarily agree that humans are causing it, nor do they believe that the US Congress' highest priority should be combatting the issue. Leading conservative majorities in the United States, and even other countries, like Australia, have debunked and rejected the climate change alarmism, pressing for repeal of carbon taxes and inviting industry growth, in spite of green extremism.

Following a litany of Senators' comments about the terrible impacts of climate change on different states in the union, Boxer gives the impression that a lot of politicians pontificating on the issue will gain any attention or credibility on the matter. For the record, the same Senators bleating about the dangers of climate change also voted for Obamacare, with the understanding, repeated over and over, that Americans who like their doctor, their health insurance, and even their hospital, would be able to keep them. The consequences have turned out to be quite the opposite, and the economic climate change hitting the unemployed and even fully-employed Americans is turning for the worse.


There are two other things which we can learn about the fourteen hour talk-a-thon on climate change, which Boxer left out. Climate change comrade Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island announced that their "mini-filibuster" was not about any particular bill. The Washington Post read past the "engagement rhetoric" of the liberal climate change caucus, and spelled out plainly what all the hot air was really all about:

But, there is another more political reason for the decision by Senate Democrats to devote their time to the issue right now. And that issue is campaign cash.

Every senator who shows up and gives off their own carbon dioxide on the floor of the US Senate would help raise green as in money for their campaigns. Environmentalist donors like Thomas Steyer have pressed Democrats to get serious about making climate change a key issue. If they refuse to talk up the green as in environment, then can say good-by to the green as in campaign (pun intended) donations.

Interestingly enough, if anyone is worried about climate change, particularly the political climate, it would be the Democrats in reds states which Romney carried in  2012, senators who must back away from the climate change cacophony in order to stand any chance of retaining their seats. One red state senator, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, faces her toughest fight yet, and the only cause which has kept her in office rests on her staunch yet slick support for Big Oil, which is a big deal in the Big Easy.

Boxer's bombast about climate change is an unserious weather pattern, to say the least, since the real climate change which her Democratic colleagues are worried about, the political climate, and the environment which most Americans are focused on, the job market, are looking bleaker by the day.

Barbara Boxer is putting her own colleagues into the "climate change" box. Does she really want to lose the US Senate that badly?! The economic climate is bad, the political climate for Dems is worse, and the health care climate is the worst of all. Forecast, nothing but storms and a complete flood of GOP in 2014!

ObamaCare is Going Straight to Hell, After All!

"As far as I'm concerned, the TEA Party can go straight to hell!" -- Maxine Waters.

For the first time in years, if anyone can ever remember a fiery race-hustler getting called on their disrespectful remarks, Congresswoman Maxine Waters had no choice but to back-pedal from her crude remarks in a 2011 job forum in Inglewood.

Fox News even confronted her in the halls of Congress about her inappropriate comments. She just smiled and looked away from the camera until she escaped into an elevator.

Still, her remarks have rattled conservatives, yet mainstream affiliates pushed her to justify such outrageous remarks.

She appeared on Meet the Press and other NBC affiliates trying to justify then deflect the statements she made.

Of course, her coarse rhetoric knows no bounds, and she has uttered such offensive remarks before.

I was at a Tea Party rally in Torrance, CA, which now makes up a large part of her new Congressional district. The residents in Torrance, however, have a different view of her new responsibilities, and the comments are not good.

One lady told me: "She's awful!"

Another lady told me how she calls her office and tweets to her about the outrageous remarks she made about the Tea Party.

One wonders if she has met Reverend Jesse Peterson, who leads the South LA Tea Party. Does Congresswoman Waters think that this African-American Pastor should go straight to hell, too?

When I confronted her in a town hall meeting in September, 2013, I could not help myself:

"As far as I'm concerned, Obamacare can go straight to hell."

I was wrong-- Obamacare is already there, and taking in  its fiery, frustrating wake access to quality health care while limiting the doctors and medical specialists which Americans, young and old, can see. State insurance exchanges intended to create a competitive marketplace are crashing all over the country. While President Obama and his team tout that 4 million people have signed up, the same statistics fail to calculate that a number of those individuals have not paid their first month's premium Without and funds going into the system, there is no funding that will support the slightly greater number of poor and sick people jumping into the program, who are depending on a government subsidy to get health insurance.

Coupling these unpleasant statistics with the horror stories of individual Americans with Obamacare insurance still left paying the bill, and we can see that Obamacare is taking not just the medical profession, not just the health industry, but an unprecedented number of sick and wounded Americans with it.

Former US Senator Scott Brown has sounded out every intention that he wants to run for US Senate, again.

Or has he?

First, he turned down running against Markey for the 2013 special election following Kerry's promotion to Secretary of State.

Then he declined to run for governor, even though he had a statewide likeability greater than any other Republican, and even after losing to Elizabeth "Fauxcahontas" Warren by five points in a Presidential election year, where the GOP contender was an anchor on races nationwide.

Then he sold his Massachusetts home in Wrentham.

Then he turned his summer home in New Hampshire into his new permanent residence.

Then he started popping up in New Hampshire GOP functions, yet remaining coy the whole time about whether he would run or not.

There have been boos as well as raves, since he supported an assault weapons ban in the US Senate, and voted for Dodd-Frank, which is Obamacare for the banking industry. "If you like your bank, you can keep it. If you like your money. . ."

In a way, Brown has every reason to be hesitant. He put a lot of time and energy into a second run in two years for his own senate seat, and in spite of his high approval ratings, the Democratic machine took the seat away and handed it to a trumped up "anti-corporate" corporate lawyer and academic who fluffed her ancestry to increase her chances of gaining academic tenure.

Brown has graced (or grazed) the front page of key New Hampshire papers, and now he has launched an exploratory committee. Finally, or is it final yet?

New Hampshire expects some fiscal responsibility from their leaders, and no doubt former Governor Jean Shaheen has relinquished that responsibility, supporting President Obama's profligate spending, union connections,  and above all Obamacare.

She cannot run from her support for that unsupportable, the very legislation which helped get Brown elected in Massachusetts in 2010 following Ted Kennedy's timely demise.

Will Brown wow enough crowds to get elected in 2014? Will the anger with Obamacare, plus a lot of help from AFP help propel the former Senator back to the US Senate?

Uncovering Covered California -- Hijole!

The San Jose Mercury News has reported that fifteen percent of people who have enrolled in Covered California have not yet paid their premiums.

That's not good. What's the point of an insurance exchange if no one is paying in so that the insurance companies can pay out when someone is sick and goes to the hospital?

This quote stands out, proving that the numbers, no  matter how the Obama Administration and his Democratic colleagues may spin them, are spiraling down:

Health plans say they are doing everything possible to contact those enrollees who didn't pay -- through email, phone and snail mail. But it's becoming increasingly likely that tens of thousands of Californians could end up the way they started -- uninsured.

The insurance companies have taken to every means available to contact these provisional enrollees. They face the same fate which millions of uninsured (and unsure) Americans have struggled with in the federal exchange or their state exchanges.

The same President who claimed that we are the change we have been waiting for, who talked about the oceans rising, and the costs of health care falling, has fallen into his own rhetoric, and can't get up.

Reports from the Washington Examiner, challenged by the LA Times, also indicate that an increasing number of doctors are refusing patients with Obamacare insurance. A CBS San Francisco report confirms, however, that California doctors are not thrilled with Obamacare, or with Covered California, and many are shocked to find themselves listed on the Covered CA website, as though they will receive Obamacare insurance payments. A more recent report highlights the complaints of new enrollees, who face a limited number of doctors, many of whom are not readily available.

While Covered California is uncovered to reveal that not as many people are covered, or will cover those seeking coverage, the state exchange has reached a new low to attract not only young enrollees (many of whom would rather pay the fine, and most likely won't have to, since President Obama has waived the fee unilaterally).

The new advertisement presents migrant agricultural activist Cesar Chavez whipping up migrant workers, saying "Now is the time," then misconstruing Scripture with "The last shall be first and the first shall be last."

Then fellow migrant activist Dolores Huerta joins in with Covered California advocates to shame Latinos to get insurance. For her pitch, claiming to speak for Chavez, Huerta launches into compelling young Latinos to sign up for health insurance:

We have to be responsible citizens. If we do not do our part, we cannot help our community. Were talking about millions of Latinos who do not have health insurance. if you don't sign up ,then your abuelos, your tios will not be able to have the health insurance.

People have worked so hard for the last sixty years, where every body in the United Sates can have health insurance. All you have to do is sign up.

And even if young Latinos, or members of any other ethnic group, wanted to sign up for health insurance through Covered California, they would uncover sign-up website in Spanish, one which has forced Hispanic applicants to seek help just to decipher the meanings, along with outlandish prices.

If young Americans want to be responsible, then they will not take on the costs of Covered California policies, which are prohibitively expensive. President Obama even called on young people to give up their cellphone to get health insurance. That is terribly irresponsible, considering that such communication is crucial just to set up an interview to get a job, which many young people, including Latinos, are struggling to get.

President Obama also shamed Hispanic voters in a town hall, claiming that they should prioritize their costs. By the way, President Obama was responding to a gentleman with three kids who lives on $35,000 a year, and the cheapest plan he could find would cost his family $300 a month.

The Obamacare rollout has been an unmitigated disaster, with rising costs, less access, with media affiliates no longer able to carry water for their media-hyped President. Uncovering Covered Califorina, one finds a system which has few insured, fewer who are paying, and fewest of all from the very demographics which the Obama Administration is trying to reach.

Waxman: Retreating, not Retiring

Congressman Henry Waxman announced earlier this year that after forty years of serving in the House of Representatives, he is choosing to retire.

However, six months prior, he had issued an eblast to supporters declaring why he needed to run for office again, citing the usual liberal litany of causes (climate change, raising taxes, health care reform). A few weeks before announcing his retirement, he had conducted an interview with LA Weekly, which included comments from Independent challenger Marianne Williamson along with his 2012 campaign rival Bill Bloomfield of Manhattan Beach.

For all apparent purposes, it looked as if Waxman was prepping to run for Congress again. Why would he change his mind?

In the last four months following the Obamacare rollout, millions of Americans have witnessed their health insurance premiums rise, their doctors retire, or their insurance companies cancel clients’ current plans, the same plans which Congressional Democrats ad promised we could keep.

Reviewing the Obama Administration, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal offered: “We can no longer call Jimmy Carter the worst President in American History”. The investigations into Operation Fast and Furious and IRS abuses which targeted conservatives have deeply implicated the President and his party. The GM bailout, which Waxman championed, cost taxpayers billions of dollars, according to MSNBC. The only winners following the Solyndra fiasco, for which Waxman barley apologized, where Obama’s donors.

No one should wonder why Waxman is quitting. Not “retire”, but “retreat” is the word to describe Waxman’s decision not to run for office.
