Redondo Beach, City Government, and Public Employee Costs

The battle over benefits and budgets that took place in Redondo Beach’s City Council meeting last week reminded me of the missing debate that this country and our Congress could have conducted around The Affordable Care Act – ObamaCare -- the same issue that Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney was willing to discuss in last week’s debate with embattled incumbent Barack Obama.

Medical insurance costs have increased for the Beach City, and many municipalities throughout the country ,following the passage of the (Un)Affordable Care Act, even though the President assured opposed voters that access would increase while costs would decrease.
The battle between out-of-pocket and premium payments exposes the challenges connected with attempting to insure everybody. I wish that Redondo’s health insurance consultant had been in Congress to suggest his “pay as you go” model, which would incentivize prudent use of care as opposed to imposing a massive mandate, a tax according to the Supreme Court, which compels everyone to enter the fraying and failing health insurance market, still overburdened and overregulated to the hurt of health insurance companies, hospitals, and insurance carriers.
The Redondo Beach council meeting highlighted another political dynamic in the healthcare-benefits-municipal costs mix: the public sector unions. I cannot stress this enough: employees have a right to organize, but to permit then to hold cities hostage to unsustainable employee contracts, without even providing city leaders the freedom to select different plans providing the same services, invites cost increases, government overruns, and lesser care and coverage for all employees.

"Climate Change Bill" -- SB 1066

State Senator Ted Lieu (D-Marina Del Rey) has gone after shark fin soup, microchips for pets, and tanning salons for teens. Now he has set his sight on taming the atmosphere with Senate Bill 1066, which Governor Jerry Brown has signed into law.

According to our elected officials, “climate change” is having a demonstrable impact on our communities, our culture, and our economy, and therefore the state will invest funds to explore its causes and potential cures. Yet if they already know that climate change is impacting us, why appropriate funds to “study and plan” for global warming?

Only the bravery of the Old Testament Patriarch Joshua, who told the sun and moon to stop, rivals the bravado of our state’s political class, convinced that climate change is man-made and thus requires a man-made solution.

Aside from conserving as well as creating jobs for the California Coastal Conservancy, SB 1066 is another wasteful expansion of government bureaucracy. While Governor Brown wants to direct more of this state’s divested funds to combat climate change, the economic climate remains bleak, black, and blocked with red tape, overregulation, and high taxes.

According to Senator Lieu, the California coast contributes “$40 billion” to the state, yet this wave of trade is diminishing fast. Not the rising ocean levels, but the rising red ink and tax rates from Sacramento are drowning our business communities, forcing an average of five businesses a week out of the state. This is the “inconvenient truth” that Governor Brown, Senator Lieu, and the rest of the Sacramento political class much challenge and change, not our climate, not the wetlands, and certainly not at taxpayers’ expense.

Mick Mulvaney is the Man -- Mulvaney for US Senate 2014!

Congressman Mick Mulvaney

Mick Mulvaney, who represents South Carolina's Fifth Congressional District, is the only Congressman I know of -- apart from Kentucky Congressman Ed Whitfield --who has told off LA Congressman Henry Waxman to his face. Henry "The Taxman" Waxman is running for reelection in the newly-drawn 33rd Congressional District, and from the moment I witnessed his blunt and unapologetic incompetence, I was motivated to get him out of office. Waxman has not run a real campaign every since he came to office, and for all intensive purposes, he does not live in his LA constituency, either.

Looking for more information to indict this long-term incumbent, I came across a YouTube clip from a June 1 budget committee hearing which featured South Calorina Congressman Mick Mulvaney. This guy just wiped the floor with Congressman Waxman, giving the former "Eliot Ness" of Oversight Committee fame a taste of his own medicine, all while exposing the waste and corruption which had gone unnoticed while bailiing out the auto industry in this country.

I never knew about the secured bond holders of Indiana, retired teachers and police officers, whose pension fund lost millions of dollars in order to help out GM, while Chrsyler, a private car manufacturer, went bankrupt.

When Mulvaney asked about the General Motors bailout, following its bankruptcy -- the second largest in American History, Mr. Waxman replied "I don't know."

I was astounded. This man wanted to run for reelection in my district, and not four months ago he admitted in open committee that he did not know whether GM went bankrupt or not. Like Mulvaney, I was surprised.

I loved how the South Carolina Congressman tore into Waxman, refusing to let him castigate the

"1 %" and play up the harships that labor unions face. Frequently, the Mulvaney slammed Waxman, even asserting "I'll ask the questions. It was like watching the CNN version of "Taming of the Shrew."

After watching that YouTube clip, I contacted Congressman Mulvaney's office in his home state and Washington. I was impressed that his staff were still quite knowledgeable about the heated exchange. I for one am glad that I could get in touch with someone on the other side of the country who cared about fiscal matters with an assiduousness sharper than sound bites and little cuts.

When I saw the YouTube clip of Congressman Mick Mulvaney tearing up Henry Waxman over the auto bailouts, I knew that a new generation of Congressmen were rising up to take down the Old Guard of party bosses and machine politicians who feel that they can choose their voters instead of the other way around. I was glad to see a new legislator stand up to the old. I was surprised that this exchange eviscerating Waxman had received so little press. I hope that my sharing my appreciation for the South Carolina Congressman will bring more attention to his aspiring skill while also exposing the declining competence of the formerly formidable Henry Waxman.

Mulvaney is a Tea Party personality not afraid to fight for real cuts, yet who  also carry on a civil conversation with the liberal establishment, including Al Sharpton and Chris Matthews. He stood up to the Reverend without being irreverent. He was not afraid to give credit where credit was due. Indeed, the last time that this country had a balanced budget, it was under a Democratic President. The spending spree that is bleeding this country dry falls on both Democrats and Republicans, both of whom have hidden under bipartisanship to push more spending, higher deficits, and a growing national debt.

Not afraid to fault the Bush Administration, Mulvaney cares about the spending that is ending this country, and he supported the Cut, Cap, and Balance bill that would hold everyone accountable. He is willing to discuss cutting military spending and "willing to put everything on the table." He does not shy away from tackling entitlements, even complimenting President Obama for revealing -- albeit, unintentionally -- that balanced budgets require entitlement reform.

Congressman Mick Mulvaney would be a great senator for the Palmetto State, replacing weak-tea conservative Lindsey Graham, who has spent more time working across the aisle on issues that continue this country down the tubes of tax-and-spend statism. Mulvaney is bipartisan without bypassing spending increases as "compromise" -- he stands up to his party by demanding that they live up and live out the principles of limited government and fiscal discipline.

Mick Mulvaney is the Man -- Mulvaney for US Senate 2014! I wish Congressman Mulvaney all the best.

"You're The Only Teacher I Have Problems With!"

I was a problematic teacher, no question about it. Or at least I was a teacher who was willing to give kids a problem if they wanted to be a problem.

I had decided long ago -- I saw no reason to put up with a kid's disrespect. I also did not see the value of letting kids get away with doing less than the best.

I still called parents, even when much of the time parents did not know what was going on with their kids, or they would pay lip service to following up on their kids' work, then do nothing.

This one kid, Mick, was a class act. One with little respect for anyone, not even for himself, since he felt that he did not have to do any work at all.

I called his mother at least twice, with nothing to show for it except a lot of complaining and very little action. She insisted on telling me about all her health problems, too. This mother really took every chance should could to carp and gripe about her life. What is the matter with these parents? Does anyone ever think through the long-term implications of having kids? This woman apparently got pregnant yet never bothered to marry the father, yet she was more than happy to chew off the ear of any teacher who would call up about her son.

She even outlined how she wanted to meet with me and the principal and her son in the same room in order to get all the facts straight, especially about her son still playing football while failing all of his classes. This guy was one of those football jocks, and he was attending one of those high schools where the principal would drop everything to protect the athletics program, even permitting students with failing marks to keep playing.

What a pity. How can players expect to learn any diligence and respect in this life if they are getting away with doing nothing in the classroom? How many of them go on to play competitively in college or professional sports? And even when they retire from the national field, where do they go from there?

This guy reeked disrespect, and to his own hurt. He stopped at nothing to criticize or belittle how I spoke to the class, the lessons which I lead the class through, or the fact that at certain times I was standing in front of the projector. I am a big guy, no question about it! But this guy was every-day blind, both morally and legally, as in he needed to get some class while in class, and he needed to wear glasses while in class.

I had rounded up support from his mom, who felt compelled to tell me that he had a police record and was involuntarily transferred from one high school to the one where I was working. The mother had not stepped up for this kid, to say the least, and what a shame for him, just as for many other students who leave home not honoring neither their parents or the teachers who try to teach them something.

I brought him into class during six period, as I finally had enough to confront him about an assorted number of issues. This football player was full of hot air, arguing and excusing his sloth from the moment that he sat down. I went over every F that he was earning, not just in my class.

After I finished, he remarked:

"You're the only teacher I have problems with!" He said as much, slumped over his desk, then he shuffled off with a detention notice in hand, not that it really mattered, since most of the students never honored those slips, and the administration was too busy being busy with not doing enough to follow up on the blunt defiance blunting these kids.

He was an on-and-off failure, and all off to beat the band. He liked looking at the girls next to him, the only score he would ever get in the class, since he never did his work, anyway.

Finally, too late for me since I did not get the job at the school, but still enough to prove how weak and superficial the bravado of most students ends up being, Mick's Mom came through and agreed to a conference. It was a Friday, and that day I was trying to run a Jeopardy review for a test the students would take the next week. For the first time, he was rallying the kids in his team to pay attention. He gave me no lip, guff or attitude. I was not going to be a teacher that he had a problem with, at least for that day.

Still, later that afternoon, the principal told me that Mick's mom cancelled -- a real flake, yet no surprising, since her son was so flaky in his disrespect. Such is the result of not raising your kids, I guess. The parents are unaccountable, and the children simply repeat the pattern of perversion.

Later that year, when I came back to the school after a number of months, I saw Mick, wearing glasses, shuffling along. Not once did I ever see him smile. I greeted him, yet he had nothing to say to me, downcast the whole time.

I also remember returning to the school the next year, about September, perhaps the same day that I shut down the kid who attempted to mock me for "getting me fired." It was a glorious roast for me then, and another long-term benefit of letting matters settle themselves came to my attention. I used to use the cafeteria bathroom when I needed to go, simply because I had no interested in traveling all the way to the main office in more distressing times of emergency. As I was walking toward the middle of the cafeteria, over the clean brown tiles and around the big metal refrigerators, I spied Mick, wearing a hair net and an apron. He was now the lunch lady! How about that?

Later that week, I was reading the local paper, which covers the different football games. I knew that Mick was a prominent player on the team, yet I noticed that he was not listed, not once following the two or three perusals I made of the high school sports page.

This kid, like many at that school, did not get away with the disrespect, and I had to learn to live and let live in the meantime.

Indeed, I was the only teacher that he had problems with, precisely because I expected him to work, and I at least had the insane "notion" to be incensed that he was still playing football his junior year while failing every class.

Mick -- a smart-alek wanna-be Cassanova who ended up not playing football at all the following year.

GOP - Revisit the Eleventh Commandment

http://nj1015.com/tags/todd-akin/

I am appalled at all of this "Akin Bashing."

Now state senators in the New Jersey are condemning this man -- in state sponsored resolutions.

What are these people thinking? If the Republicans in the North East are so turned about the Missouri Congressman's opinion on abortion, they need to direct their complaints to the party chairmen and amend the platform, which in the opinion of many Republicans is immoral, a standard in which abortion is not permitted under a circumstances.

As I have shared before, this is an extreme position, yet not nearly as extreme as the Democratic Party platform, in which abortion is accepted during any level of

Has the Republican Party lost its bearings?

For all of the GOP trumpeting about Ronald Reagan as the Standard Bearer of the GOP, I would think that party leaders throughout the country would rest on the common ground that they share, especially since now more than every so much depends on solid majorities in the House and Senate to repeal ObamaCare and get the country on track to a firm fiscal footing.

The Republican Congressional Delegation in New Jersey stayed away from the RNC Convention earlier this year precisely because of the staunch social views advertised by the party, views which media moguls and political activists have labeled  "extreme", pushing establishment Republicans to distance themselves from US Senate candidate Todd Akin of Missouri.

Still, notwithstanding the divergent views on social issues in the Republican Party, the politicians and the staffers need to review the Eleventh Commandment:

"Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican."

Enough with the "Akin Bashing", New England. Go after the party leaders and force some major changes to the party platform.

Sign the Prop 13 Pledge, Al! Or Get Out of the Race!

Al Muratsuchi:
Refuses to Sign the Pledge
The race for the 66th Assembly District is heating up. On October 4, 2012, the first debate between the two contenders, state prosecutor Al Muratsuchi and small business owner Craig Huey, took place in the George Nakano Theater in Torrance, sponsored by the Torrance Police Officers Association.

About Torrance Unified School District Board Member Al Muratsuchi, I have commented that he appears to be “union bought and paid for.”  Still, he also advertises himself as an “Independent”, a real choice for the voters looking for sound representation in Sacramento. In a recent mailer, Muratsuchi claims that he is “Pro-Choice”, while Huey is an “Anti-Choice” ideologue, trying to play up a social issue which does not weigh on the minds of voters, unlike the disturbing number of businesses fleeing the state because of high taxes and overregulation.
Howard Jarvis: Peace of the CA Taxpayer

Yet at the end of the debate sponsored by the Torrance Police Officers Association, Mr. Muratsuchi still refused to give up the $8,000 that he received from the California Teachers Association, citing that he was receiving money from many sources. For a candidate who supports choice, he apparently does not differ with organizations which refuse to empower school districts with the choice of removing predatory and dangerously dysfunctional instructors from the classroom.

Furthermore, Mr. Muratsuchi has failed to establish his views – or his choice, if you will – on the matter of  Proposition 13, the spearhead of the 1978 Tax Revolt that required legislators to amass a two-thirds majority before raising taxes while fixing property tax rates low.

In a recent debate sponsored by the Torrance Police Officers Association, Mr. Muratsuchi did come forward declaring that he supports Prop 13, despite the “false accusations” of Mr. Huey. He emphasized that he “does not like taxes”. Yet the Torrance School Board member neglected to mention that Huey has signed a pledge to protect Prop 13, while all we have is Muratsuchi’s word.

The word of a political candidate means nothing when he has received considerable contributions from public sector unions and other special interests. Not once has Mr. Muratsuchi explained how he would lead or even contribute to comprehensive pension reform in Sacramento, nor did he allay the latent concern that he has a vested interest to protect – his pension as a school board member and state prosecutor. He remains mum because of public sector money, no doubt.

Later in the debate, the Torrance School Board member signaled that Torrance schools are suffering tremendously because of the severe budget cuts severing funding from the classroom. Unfortunately, not once did Muratsuchi explain the increasing role of spiraling pension and medical costs for retired teachers imagine on public education because. He claimed that retired teachers take in an average of $36,000 a year. Yet even Cal-STRS submitted a larger sum, one which rivals the pay of active teachers in 28 states. Pension obligations in total in California have now reached $500 billion,   yet Muratsuchi contends that he does not want to lambaste public sector officials as “scapegoats.” Of course, no mention was made of Mark Berndt from Miramonte Elementary, the alleged predator now on trial for multiple lewd acts against children. He is still slated to receive his $4,000 a month pension.

Prop 13 is about protecting the taxpayer and the property owner from the political class. Prop 13 forced Governor Jerry Brown to present and promote Prop 30 on the November ballot, which would impose a 0.25% sales tax increase and a series of higher tax rates on income earners from $250,000 and above. Like many “soak the rich” advocates, Muratsuchi, a Prop 30 supporter because of dwindling public school revenues, refuses to recognize that small businesses by and large file as individuals, and thus would bear the brunt of this job-killing, investment stalling tax increase. While Sacramento stacks schools against taxpayers, as if they do not have a choice, no one from the statehouse on down has established any comprehensive reforms relating to how the revenues are collected, allocated, and invested. Even The San Francisco Chronicle exposed the extraneous overlapping and waste which still dominate in Sacramento to this day.

At the end of the debate, the country prosecutor claimed that actions speak louder than words, rebuffing Huey’s repeated challenge for his Democratic opponent to divest himself of the funds and endorsement from the public sector unions and career politicians who define the dysfunction in Sacramento. If Mr. Muratsuchi wishes to maintain his independence and his insistence that he will honor the interests of the taxpayer and the property owners in the South Bay, the vast majority of whom want to keep their homes, keep their jobs, and keep their tax rates low, then Al Muratsuchi must sign the Petition to Save Prop 13. No action would speak louder than his signature assuring South Bay voters that he will protect Prop 13, keep the two thirds majority requirement for tax increases and keep property tax rates low.

Sign the Pledge, Al, or get out of the race!

"Mendacious Menendez" -- Edited

In recent campaign ads, US Senate incumbent Robert Menendez has been playing up his working- middle class roots while promoting the legislation the heauthored or supported on behalf of New Jersey voters: The Credit CARD Act of 2009 and the Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ObamaCare).

Despite the warm rhetoric, the cold reality remains chilling enough to dissuade Garden State voters, or at least give them pause, about electing Menendez to another term. His inarticulate statements and his inarticulation with the truth suggest that perhaps ‘Mendacious Menendez has some explaining to do, from his previous run for the Senate, his role as leader of the Democratic Senatorial Selection committee, and to his pretended fight for the middle class.

During his contentious 2006 race with Tom Kean for the US Senate, Menendez had endorsed Ed Lamont in the Connecticut race at the same time, one which nearly knocked incumbent Joe Lieberman out of the race. PolitickerNJ reported that Menendez switched his endorsement to Lieberman, presumably just to shore up Jewish votes. Menendez pandered for votes then, so what would prevent him from doing so again?

As Chairman for the Democratic National Selection Committee, Menendez twice distorted the opposition, first claiming that the grassroots rebellion against runaway debts, deficits, and entitlement spending constituted a “scary” trend that was “out of the mainstream.” However, Menendez’ caucus lost six seats, driven by support for Obama’s stimulus, a trillion dollar payout littered with waste and fraud, and ObamaCare, an immense government encroachment of tax hikes, excessive regulations, and legislative confusion.

In an interview with “This Week" anchor Christiane Amanpour, DNSC Chairman Menendez tried to soften the inevitable shellacking that the President's party would endure that November. The Democrats lost the two-term majorities which they have cobbled together from 2006 and 2008.

Failing his party, Mr. Menendez has failed to represent or assist every New Jerseyan, and not just one community. Yet portions of his book -- "Growing American Roots: Why Our Nation Will Thrive As Our Largest Minority Flourishes," suggest a posturing promotion of one community at the expense of the rest of the country:

“By 2050, there will be 130 million Latinos in the United States, a majority under thirty years old. We will be one-third of the U.S. population… we will honor our shared heritage; we will recall our heroes - George Washington and Simon Bolivar; Abraham Lincoln and Jose Marti… There is no turning back.”

What is Menendez' record, so far, on behalf of the Hispanic community in New Jersey? 11.3%unemployment , and Menendez commands a lesser degree of support among Hispanics this term compared to 2006. Two reasons why may relate to two legislative achievements which Menendez has played up in recent ads.

Menendez claimed that ObamaCare would save this country $250 million over the first ten years once the law is fully implemented, then another $1.2 trillion afterwards. On one note, $250 million is a drop in the bucket compared to the trillion dollar deficits and the multi-trillion dollar national debt which is assaulting the country. Yet even Politifact.com weighed in and declared this assertion
"mostly false".

Of course, Mr. Menendez refuses to talk about the $716 billion raid on Medicare since the law was passed. The Huffington Post has also reported that six million Americans are projected to get hit with the massive mandate-tax. CNBC has announced that small businesses are projected huge losses and cast offs because of this legislation. The New York Times also weighed in on the disastrous implications of ObamaCare, the law which is supposed to help the very middle class families whom Menendez claims to champion. The IRS has construed key portions of the law to exclude the family of working men and women who already receive health insurance from their employers while taking in a comparable salary to purchase health care. Unfortunately, most businesses cover the employee, not the family. The IRS’ reading of the law will exclude the rest of the family. Another source not only points out Menendez’ falsehood, but establishes that ObamaCare will costs three times higher than calculated. So much for helping the middle class. . .

Menendez has also claimed that he fought for the middle class by attacking credit card abuse. Sadly, the law of unintended consequences exploded the perceived benefits of this legislation, the Credit CARD Acct of 2009, for in anticipation of Congressional regulations embedded in the bill, banks and credit providers either raised fees, reduced lines of credit, or dropped card carriers altogether. Regulations that were supposed to ease the credit crunch for consumers only made it worse. I do not see how going after “predatory” credit card companies with more regulations helps middle class families, many of whom have lost credit or have their credit line reduced.

After six years, including President Obama’s disastrous policies of debt and deficits, with no end in sight to the chronic unemployment eating away at this nation’s economic recovery, can Mr. Menendez still stand by mendacious claims that his party, his state, and this country are better off because of his tenure in
Congress?

Mendacious Menendez?

"Did I Say That?"

Mr. Menendez claimed that ObamaCare would save this country $250 million over the first ten years once the law is fully implement, then another $1.2 trillion afterwards.

$250 million is a drop in the bucket compared to the trillon dollar deficits and the multi-trillion dollar national debt which is assaulting the country.

In an October 2010 interivew, DNSC Chairman Menendez tried to soften the inevitable shellacking that the President's party would endure that November in an interview with "This Week" anchor Christiane Amanpour:

Menendez: No, this is not 1994. No. 1, in 1994, the Republican brand, its image was much better than it is today. In every poll, Democrats as a brand fare much better. And, secondly, in 1994, it was a surge at the end. We've known that this midterm election is going to be challenging, and so our candidates for the U.S. Senate have been ready for this and have been creating the contrast in each election between their Republican opponent, who wants to bring us back to the economic policies that brought us into this mess in the first place, and their own policies that are working to get us out of it.

The Democrats lost the two-term majorities which they have cobbled together from 2006 and 2008. In the Senate, the GOP took six seats.

After four years in office, President Obama has led this country deeper in debt, with no end in site to the chronic unemployment eating away

Another source not only points out the falsehood, but establishes that ObamaCare's projected costs will exceed previous projections three times over.

Menendez on the fight for the Middle Class:

"The middle classs is under attack. That's why I led the fight to crack down on credit card companies abusive practices."

Sadly, the law of unintended consequences exploded the perceived benefits of this legislation:

Indeed many banks and credit providers have already raised their rates and fees, cut credit limits for customers and changed the terms of their card from fixed to variable rates in response to the passage of the act and in anticipation of its effective date in February, 2010. While, these actions by the credit card providers have resulted in a negative impact for the consumers it was designed to protect, the overall impression of the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 has been favorable. (http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/credit-card-reform-act-of-2009-does-it-help-consumers-133381.php)

This oblique reference to ObamaCare neglects to mention the massive tax which will hit

Menendez claims to be a transplant from a working class tenement. The record suggests otherwise

MENENDEZ: I don't think -- I don't think -- I'm not scaring anybody, unless when you use a candidate's own words, they may be scary. When Sharron Angle in Nevada says, "It's not my job as a U.S. senator to try to help create jobs in Nevada; when Ken Buck questions the constitutionality of Social Security and wants to end Medicare; when Ron Johnson in Wisconsin wants to drill in the Great Lakes, those aren't my words. Those are their words.
And when Christine O'Donnell, you know, has positions that are clearly out of the mainstream, which we didn't know about -- you know, in her interest in witchcraft, you know, until 30-something days ago -- those aren't my words. Those are their words.
So I think that these candidates, the problem for the Republicans is that these candidates are out of the mainstream of where their general electorate is at.

For Menendez to talk about "Extreme" passes all respectful skepticism. The Obama Administration, which Menendez has supported 97% of the time, has pushed this country closer to the brink than any previous administration.

ObamaCare, an immense government encroachent and tax hikes, is one of the most extreme

In this clipo, Menendez talked up the Senate version of the DREAM Act, despite the growing unpopularity with the legislation, which candidate Chris Christie had adressed cogently during his run for governor. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cYTjtrndnA)

Menendez talks up the contribtion of illegal immigrants who came to this country as children, who have known only flag, who have sung one national anthem. He gives the impression of supporting an "E Pluribus Unum" America

Mr. Menendez, like every Senator in the Capitol, is sent to Washington on behalf of every New Jerseyan, not just one community of "We".

Of course, this is not the first time that Menendez has pandered for votes:

http://www.politickernj.com/after-endorsing-lamont-menendez-tells-jewish-group-hes-lieberman

During the contentious 2006 race with Tom Kean for the US Senate, Menendcez had endorsed Ed Lamont in the Connecticut race at the same time, one which nearly knocked incumnebt Joe Lieberman out of the race. PolitickerNJ reported that Menendez that he switched his endorsement to Lieberman, peresumably just to shore up Jewish votes.

Mr. Menendez seems to have a bit of a truth problem, whether dealing with the real impact of legislation which he authored or advocated, when characterizing the problems facing this country, when playing up a health insurance mandate with more questions and problems than solutions and answers, or even we drifting from one camp to another to support his election bids.

What Will Claire McCaskill Say Next?

In a new attack ad, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill is still waving the “legitimate rape” shirt, hoping to distract voters with distortions of Mr. Akin’s support for free market reforms and free people. “What will he say next?” closes the ad.

Senator Claire McCaskill is still castigating Congressman Todd Akin for one comment. In attacking the infrequent comments of the Congressman, McCaskill has not yet considered that the same line of attack would yield even more damaging quips against her for all that she has proffered during her double-minded tenure in Washington.

Aside from Senator McCaskill’s 100% rating from NARAL (National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws), aside from her voting 90% of the time with the liberal establishment in Washington what other silly, stupid, or insensitive comments has Ms. McCaskill made during her six-year tenure in the US Senate?

What hasn’t she said?

McCaskill said this about President Bush:

“George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black.”

Would you like to take this back, Ms. McCaskill? It is appalling to me how broad the double standard has become in the media markets. She castigated the previous President as a race-monger, and no one held her accountable for it.

Let’s look over McCaskill’s other "flubs" over the past six years:

“I don't understand this rudeness! What is this?"

This comment McCaskill uttered, in either mock-surprise, or genuine ignorance. In this 2009 townhall meeting, McCaskill was trying to sell Missourians on the Affordable Care Act, which has turned out not to be affordable at all. "You don't trust me?" She later asked, and every cried out: "No!"

It's clear why the crowd of 3, 500 were outraged -- they were fed up then and they are fed up now with a senator who listens to party bosses in Washington instead of the voters of Missouri.

“The seniors will be well-taken care of in this bill.” So claimed Claire in the same meeting, yet the dogged reality of $700 billion missing from Medicare as a result of ObamaCare just will not go away, a massive excise which is now hurting hospitals all over the country.

In another interview, this time with Bill O'Reilly, McCaskill commented that the people "weren't sure about" the big things. Stimulus, TARP -- these government measures McCaskill claimed were successful. As if! O'Reilly, like many voters in this country, believe that ObamaCare, which apparently started out at 615 pages only to metastiaize in 2, 400, is "Bi Government. McCaskill responded: "I don't know that at the end of the day if it's going to be big government intrusion." She then offered up Medicare, a "solid" example of Big Government, which is in fact bankrupting this country. "That's why we have to work on this bill." -- to save Medicare. $700 billion dollar raid on Medicare is fixing Medicare?

On her failure to pay property taxes on her private plane, McCaskill rebuffed any complaints:

“Well there is no question that this is a big, sloppy, stupid mistake. I found it and came forward and made sure that we paid the money. You asked how this happened. I assumed that it was being done appropriately; which was a mistake on my part. I should have never assumed that.”

There is no excuse for a Senator overlooking a massive tax on her own property.

About not attending the 2012 Democratic Convention, McCaskill waffled:

"I'm in a tough fight -- it's after Labor Day. It doesn't mean I don't support President Obama." The Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda was sinking McCaskill's chances of then and now! She then claimed: "I'm independent." Still, Obama-Claire cannot shake off her party affiliation, and she tried to defend ObamaCare:

"Some are saying 'This is a tax increase on everyone' -- of course not!"

The Huffington Post reported that ObamaCare will hit six million families with tax increases.

"It's a huge tax cut for small businesses."

CNBC reported that small businesses are confused, afraid, and outraged about costs and regulations which will push their employees' premiums up.

From the September 23, 2012 Debate, McCaskill claimed: “I have a strong moderate record.”

Although The Washington Post puts her in the middle, she cannot run away from her support for the 2009 stimulus and ObamaCare, two highly controversial bills which are bankrupting this country. A closer look at her voting record suggests that she pushes the liberal line in Washington. In the last six months, she has voted against the following:

Disapproval of President's Authority to Raise the Debt Limit

Prohibits Increase in Interest Rates for Student Loans (Lamar Bill) -- this is interesting, especially since she crows that she has the best interest of students in mind.

Limits Farm Subsidies to Farmers with Incomes Under $250,000 -- If McCaskill "opposes" Big Government, yet she persists in supporting out-dated subsidies for the Agribusiness lobby?

She even voted against an amendment which Extends Middle Class Tax Cuts.

From race-baiting to tax evasion to misconstruing her record: What will Claire Say Next?
