Autumn Burke Caves to LGBT Hate Machine, Throws Blacks Under the Bus

Assemblywoman Autumn Burke (D-Inglewood)  has done some good in the state assembly.

But her betrayal of the black faith community in Inglewood and throughout the state is just plain inexcusable.

She stood by an abusive chief of staff, who cursed out a pastor on a voicemail, rather than demanding his resignation.

She advanced the militant homosexual agenda instead of standing for all the churches in her district and throughout the state. She abandoned the First Amendment to score a few points with ... who exactly?

She also released an offensive leader demeaning Pastor Marc Little and the black faith community in her district.

Here is the text of the letter, and my comments.

"Dear Bishop Ulmer,

'So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.' Matthew 5:11

This passage was never an invitation to permit sin.

LGBT behavior is not an identity, and should be treated as a special class.

In the legislature, contention over issues is expected but I am especially disturbed by the recent actions of opponents to Senate Bill 1146. SB 1146 simply calls for more transparency to ensure LGBT students are protected from discrimination in private and religious institutions of higher learning.

We need discrimination in higher education. We need to allow students to learn to discern between right and wrong, good and evil, truth and error. LGBT behavior leads to health and emotional problems. Why are we preventing people from learning the truth about these realities?

What exactly did Autumn Burke find so offensive about constituents confronting her and her staff about this bill, which would place undue burdens on private colleges, exposing them to public shame and potential lawsuits just for practicing their faith?

My integrity and that of my colleagues has been called into question for supporting SB 1146. But what integrity is there in promoting segregation and hostility towards the LGBT community?  Evident in the recent attacks on the LGBT community in Orlando and threats here in California, such hostility contributes to a culture of hate that takes lives. As a black woman and mother, I simply refuse to stand idly by while hate and segregation are encouraged.

On brother. "Segregation"? Now that is offensive. Being born black is not a crime, not a sin, not a destructive behavior. People are born black. People are not born gay. It is not a civil right. One of the most evil (yet politically genius) tactics of the Militant Homosexual movement was to collude and compare the fights for "gay" rights with the struggle of racial minorities in the South.

Outrageous and unbecoming.

Several members of the Faithful Central Bible Church stopped by my office recently to express their concern with SB 1146 and instead of being respectful, they decided to personally attack and question the faith of one of my staffers simply because he is gay. The same group then went to the office of Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer and started another confrontation by exclaiming, "I don't want my sons and daughters to be taught to be homosexual."

What did they say, exactly? Where does this line of argument come from, which concludes that this staffer or that office employee is "gay"?

All of this identity politics talk is corrosive to our political discourse. We need to stop labeling one another based on our thoughts, feelings, and actions.

There is just no justification for it.

The chief of staff to Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer subsequently left a voicemail to Paster [sic] Marc Little where he expressed his outrage over the antagonizing manner in which his staff was addressed. I do not agree with the language used, but I do agree with the sentiment that Pastor Marc Little's delegation message is devoid of historical context, respect, and compassion.

You will notice that in the voice mail there is no mention of a visit from a pastor.

Joey Hill was responding--rather, raging--at the letter left by Pastor Marc Little.

In the 1960s, opponents [of the Civil Rights Movement] used the same argument - that laws intended to protect a certain class were an overreach - in a failed attempt to deny access to voting, housing, and fair employment. During this time, the church community played an integral role in guaranteeing civil rights by serving as a source of unity and empathy.

What laws were protecting a class? No! Martin Luther King Jr. and the Southern Baptist Christian League for natural rights for all men.

They did not march in the streets and refuse to give up their seats so that two men could sleep together, or that two women could "marry", or to protect individuals with mental illnesses to masquerade as a sex that they were not born.

There is no justifiable exception for [not] extending compassion to the LGBT community, many of whom are people of color.

Oh, stop! LGBT is not a community. This lie has to be confronted, and the truth shared with everyone to set people free!

I remain committed to SB 1146 and other efforts that add to the progress we have achieved as a diverse community."

WHAT? Diversity must be based on truth, and should not be focused on limiting individual liberty or community integrity.

SB 1146 is a bad bill. It should never have been introduced.

Senator Lara should be ashamed of himself for suggesting such a terrible policy. His star witness to promote the legislation.

I applaud the efforts of the Religious Freedom Bus Riders for standing up to LGBT bullying in the state legislature. I sincerely hope that more residents in Autumn Burke's district stand up to her cowering and her caving to homosexual/transgender bullying which now threatens all our liberties.

Pro-LGBT Assemblyman and Chief of Staff Throw Pro-Family Blacks Under the Bus

California Assemblyman Reginald Jones-Sawyer (D-South Los Angeles) is yet another Democratic machine politician.

Like State Senator Ricardo Lara, he does the bidding of labor unions, big businesses, and other corrupted, left-wing groups in the tarnished Golden State.

These special interests—not concerned with the best interests of the public—include the LGBT lobby, which has been aggressively pushing its anti-morality, anti-biology, anti-reality agenda onto every California.

Ricardo Lara’s destructive bill SB 1146 now sits on Governor Jerry Brown’s desk, waiting for his signature or his veto, along with hundreds of other destructive bills.

California MassResistance hoping, praying, writing and calling to Governor’s office—and the Christian colleges who folded on the watered-down version of this legislation—to reject and object to this legislation.

To our great joy, California MassResistance and Save California have not been the only active elements in the Golden State fight against this blatant, patent pagan bigotry.

Pastor Marc Little of Faithful Central Church in Inglewood, California joined forces with other pastors and churches. They formed a coalition called the “The Religious Freedom Riders,” boarded charter buses up to the state capital, and confronted their legislators on SB 1146.

In particular, Pastor Marc Little explained plainly his opposition to SB 1146, aka “The Kill Christian College” Bill.

Here is a sample of the letter that the Faithful Central pastor shared with legislators:

SB 1146, in its prior form, disproportionately impacted minority student … I take great exception that no one from the Black Caucus or the Appropriations Committee has spoken out to protect the rights of students where more than 16,000 students, many of whom are black and Hispanic students, rely on Cal Grants  …

I could not agree more with Pastor Marc's outrage. It is offensive and ridiculous that leaders in the black and Hispanic communities said nothing about SB 1146 and its discriminatory impact on all students, including young men and women in minority areas.

Additionally, this is an attempt to choose one group, perceived to be discriminated against, over a 300-year history in the U.S. without any demonstrable evidence of any discrimination. Accordingly, the entire effort is a mockery of fairness and legislative integrity. Private institutions can and do provide information to the state already; a state mandate intended to protect a certain class is an overreach.

Yes, and this "protected class" is a socialized fiction which should not receive special protection in the first place. Equal rights for all, special privileges for NONE!

Being black is not a sin, perversion, or a crime, not does it lead to syndemic health problems.

Homosexual behavior and transgenderism are destructive behaviors. We need to love the sinner, but hate the sin.

Your freedom as legislators to be irreligious, in many cases, and our freedom to exercise our faith is a constitutional right and no legislature will take that right away from us without significant challenge now and in the future.

In response to this respectful yet resolute letter, Reggie Jones-Sawyer’s chief of staff Joey Hill (who identifies as homosexual) left a vile, offensive, bigoted voice mail for Pastor Marc.

I have to emphasize the condescension here.

This chief of staff immediately disdains a man of God who preaches God’s word. What kind of a world do we live in where legislative staffers sneer at pastors? Excuse me, but the Body of Christ comes before the legislative body, and the Word of God defines the words in our law books.

This lack of respect is already troubling.

I don't know how you call yourself a pastor after writing his ridiculously hateful letter.

The language of the Left: describe any rhetoric or argument which does not agree with your views as “hateful.”

And you have the nerve to cite history.

Wow! A staffer who cannot control his tongue calls a pastor “stupid” and “evil.”

300 year history? What if I made an analogy to slavery? What's wrong with you?

What is going on here? The analogy between African-Americans, the LGBT agenda, and the Civil Rights movement is beyond offensive. The pastor was right to challenge this comparison.

This pastor has read his Bible, and believes what he reads. He practiced love and compassion by speaking the truth to power.

Joey Hill is the face of the Big LGBT Hate machine, and how it’s wreaking havoc in the state of California. Whatever happened to the illiberal “Love Trumps Hate” mantra which left-wing partisans love to chant?

This abuse is wrong and just plain outrageous. It took the major media markets a week to expose this offensive, curse-laden rant.

I went with another member of California MassResistance to speak with Reggie Jones-Sawyer’s staff at his office near the USC campus. No one answered the door. Two police officers then showed up to try and intimidate us!

So, Reggie Jones-Sawyer has no respect for black pastors or black constituents. He has sworn to the mainstream media that his chief of staff’s conduct was inappropriate, but has not fired him!

Once again, the LGBT agenda justifies prejudice and bigotry against African-Americans, covers for elected officials sending black people to the back of the bus, or just throwing them under the bus.

It’s time for men and women of faith to stand up to LGBT abuse!

Notice: Black Politician Blows Off Black Activist at USC Office

This information cannot stay hidden.

Black politicians have reached a new level of undocumented, corrupt, and unaccountable.

Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-Los Angeles, Huntington Park) is one of the most arrogant and aloof politicos out there. He has no challenger at this time, although principled advocates and conservative activists are working hard to challenge him and his corrupt political machine.

On August 26th, I went with Inglewood resident Betran Usher to speak with Assemblyman Sawyer about his support for SB 1146, and to demand to know when he would terminate his abusive chief of staff, who had cursed out Pastor Marc Little of Faithful Central.

This was the reception we received:

Two law enforcement officers arrive to shake us down and intimidate us.

The black politician shut out constituents demanding answers about his votes and the conduct of his staff.

The staff did not even bother to answer our questions.

Bertran tried again to meet with someone in Sawyer's office.

Nothing. Nothing at all.

I have other black friends who have told me that the black politicians who claim to represent them have locked out all constituents. They put up blocked doors, barricades and call boxes. No one in the black community can meet with their representatives to get an answer on anything.

At first, I did not believe it.

Now I have seen and believe. I cannot believe that so many black voters put up with such disrespect from their elected officials.

Christians--and Americans in general--are facing attacks on their religious liberty like never before. In California, the state legislature wants to impose more restrictions on the practice of First Amendment rights, including freedom speech and religion.

Senate Bill 1146 will lead to more discrimination against Christians, particularly Christian institutions of higher education.

Arthur Schaper of California MassResistance explained: “The bill’s author, California State Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens, Long Beach)  laims that this bill will remedy universities’ “license to discriminate”.

“What will the amended SB 1146 actually do? Force unjust reporting and publishing requirements on Christian colleges. And Lara has sworn that he will bring back the more controversial parts of his bill, which he had removed before the Appropriations Committee hearing last week.”

One of the chief supporters of this terrible bill is Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-Los Angeles)

Church leaders, including Pastor Marc Little of Faithful Central Church--a respected leader in the Los Angeles African-American community--who Inglewood appealed to their legislators to vote NO on this legislation.

Instead of respecting the Christian community of Los Angeles, Jones-Sawyer’s chief of staff Joey Hill cursed out Pastor Marc Little.

He has been a vocal opponent of the destructive, abusive, and unconstitutional SB 1146.



He even wrote a letter to this assemblyman, Reginald Jones-Sawyer, in opposition to the bill.

While I am encouraged by Senator Lara’s recent move to amend the bill removing the significant components I objected to, I remain opposed to any bill that flirts with removing the exemptions afforded religious institutions to the exercise of their faith. It is my firm belief that any legislation that diminishes religious freedom (as the U.S. Supreme Court itself has done since the 60’s in several seminal cases) is unconstitutional and cannot be supported by our legislators no matter how watered down the bill and no matter how placated the opponents to SB1146 may be for the moment.

I applaud Pastor Marc for bringing up the heinous attacks on religious liberty from the 1960s, too. Many of us have no recollection how an arrogant, activist Supreme Court determined that prayer would no longer be permitted in public schools.

That is wrong. 

Men and women have every right to appeal to the Supreme Governor or the Universe, as did Thomas Jefferson and the Framers of the Constitution.

Is it any surprise that our society has lost its moral compass, that there is rampant crime and moral decline in our communities?

Moreover, SB 1146, in its prior form, disproportionately impacted minority students. As a resident in State Assembly District 51 (Jimmy Gomez) and State Senate District 24 (Kevin De Leon), and as a ministry leader and president of the Inglewood Airport Chamber of Commerce both located in State Assembly District 62 (Autumn Burke) and State Senate District 35 (Isadore Hall) I take great exception that no one from the Black Caucus or the Appropriations Committee has spoken out to protect the rights of students where more than 16,000 students, many of whom are black and Hispanic students, rely on Cal Grants and who desire (and have the right to desire) training from a religious institution without interference from this legislative body. These students demand protecting and we serve many of them in our work in the very school we have on our own church campus.
