I follow other state Republican parties around the country, in addition to receiving emails and updates from the California GOP.
It is astounding what blue state GOP organizations must face just to get by. In Washington State, Republicans held a slim majority in the state senate. Then one seat opened up, and the candidate running to replace the retiring incumbent ran away from Trump and tried to make up for the Trump-Clinton deficit which had swept the state senate district in 2016.
The state party is fighting as hard as they can, in spite of these losses. The previous chairman was hoping that a Trump victory in the Evergreen State would give a boost for the down ticket. Trump would bring back the timber industry to a state where regressive leftists along the coastline had ruined everyone else's lives.
Now Seattle is doubling down on their socialist, redistributionist agenda, pushing another set of ridiculous tax increases.
Could it be worse? It could come to California, that's for sure. Californians are starting to push back against Sacramento insanity. Is there enough pushback in Seattle and throughout Washington State to put a stop to the tax-and-spendthrift insanity.
Arthur,
Seattle is the most anti-business city in the nation.
Kshama Sawant, Jenny Durkan, and the Seattle City Council have declared a war on jobs. They want to tax businesses per employee. Yes, you heard that right.
This is not just an isolated problem for Seattle. Ultra-liberal Democrats have control of the legislature, and they won’t stop until they’ve squeezed every last dime out of businesses and taxpayers.

Administrators at The Evergreen State College have disciplined about 80 students who were involved in a continuous stream of high-profile protests that shut down the taxpayer-funded campus in the spring of 2017.
Incredible! Can you imagine 80 students having that much power at one time, that they could shut down an entire campus? At some point, even the craven, liberal college administrators get tired of being pushed around. They see that the liberal college brats have gone too far.
If these college radicals can shut down a university with their hateful, racist anti-American protests for one day, and nothing gets done about it, what will happen when they start launching entire take-downs for a week? A month?!
The intense race-related protests — led largely by radical black students — centered largely on biology professor Bret Weinstein because he criticized an organized “Day of Absence” event which had “invited” every white student, professor and administrator to leave campus for a day.
That sounds like racism, like forced segregation to me. Telling all the white people to leave an area? That is racist! That is total bigotry. Now we have a black version of the KKK trying to purge regions of the country
School officials at the 4,000-student school received approximately 120 incident reports involving 180 students during the days-long series of protests, reports The Olympian, the main newspaper in the town surrounding Evergreen State.
And there's more!
One of the professors was harassed by these radicals, and he had to go into hiding!
Also, last month, school officials agreed to pay Weinstein and his wife $500,000 to settle a $3.8 million lawsuit he filed after was driven into hiding by student radicals. School officials admitted no liability.
We need you! Jay Inslee and the Olympia Democrats want to impose their extreme agenda on all of us. The Democrats won’t fix unfair car tabs, and they want YOU to pay a state INCOME TAX!
In the State Senate, a GOP victory is now essential to keep our slim25-to-24 Republican majority. The most crucial is the 45th Legislative District, where RepublicanJinyoung Lee Englundis running to hold onto the seat once held by the late Andy Hill.
In the State House, Democrats hold a 50-to-48 majority, and two Republicans - Representative Jacquelin Maycumber (7th LD) andRepresentative Morgan Irwin(31st LD) are defending their seats. We need to win both races to remain in striking distance of winning a GOP majority in 2018.
